Here we have a DBZ RP. It takes place after the Buu saga and you may have an OC or claim and exsiting character. The RP takes place on Earth and all planets are involved. If space travle becomes involved, try to make it as reasonable as possible. Like, don't just be like "So and so sudenly appeared on Namek" Or a random space ship apears from nowhere or something. Make space pods/spaceships and such come reasonably and instint transmission and other means of transportation must be reasonable as well.


Rules: Use common sense, Keep things PG 13 and be nice to others. No out of character fighting, obviosly in the RP you can fight. Please keep exsiting characters in character and please don't use or kill off another persons characters with out their permission. Also, let's try to keep things fair and interesting. No power playing (I think that's what it's called) and please don't be invicable or like, Go Super Sayin 5 without even trying. If a characters goal is immortality or something like that, thats a bit of a different story but you guys know what I mean I hope. Thank you! Please join!

Well, starting power levle would be whatever power levle the character was at the end of the series. As for plants, anyones I guess.
 
Considering at the end of the series, Goku could bench press the sun and Majin Buu looked at nukes like they were snap-pop toys? Yeah, I dislike them. I have an Original Character that I love and would be willing to play... but his starting PL is less than 5k. And in the FRIEZA saga Goku his 15 MILLION when he went Super Saiyan? Yeah... 5k at the end of Buu is like Mr. Satan.
 
Ok. You can do whatever you want to do. I don't mind and don't want to force you into anything. Thanks anyway! Do you think the RP should take place at a diffrent period or...?
 
In my opinion, doing it in a semi-canon or even non-canon setting is always best for any RP that is based on an existing Anime. That way you can tweak things to your liking and not step on any toes. Same with characters... starting with the ability to nuke a solar system, for example? Kinda ruins the fun of an RP. Don't get me wrong... in a DBZ Setting, even a PL of 330 was enough to blow up a city. ( King Piccolo vs Kid Goku ) ... But in regard to an RP where players will be interacting as well as fighting, a lower PL is always better than a higher one. Granted, the players will want to build up TO a higher PL... but that's natural character progression and strengthening. Leveling Up, if you will.


I've taken part in many DBZ and Anime themed RPs, and GM'd a few as well. I've seen that, again, semi-canon or totally non-canon settings are the ways to go. As well as starting with lower PLs. The most successful one I saw had no one with a PL higher than 8k other than the Ship Captain and Royal Advisor dispatched by King Vegeta.


I'm not trying to tell you how to run your own RP, mind you... just offering advice gained through experience.
 
You actually make an excellent point. And don't worry. I appreciate the helpful advice. I like learning ways to make my RP's better. See, I wanna have existing characters as well as OC's but, like you said, I don't want characters to be able to nuke solar systems and such since that seems to take the fun out of the RP and such. What do you suggest I do?
 
I already noted my suggestions as far as OCs and CCs... ( Original and Canon Characters, respectively... ) and even ideas on the setting, perhaps making it in an alternate universe where certain Canon characters don't exist and are supplanted by the players original characters. Maybe have Players 1-3 replace Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha while Player 4 replaces Gohan or Piccolo or whatever. Again, I prefer ZERO canon characters... but that's just me.
