Dragon Age: Rising

Felros didn't waste time in setting up travel preparations, soon enough he was ready to journey towards Bulwark at haste, an armed escort en suite. You could never be to careful with the cvil war, and the blight ravaging the land. Roads were barely safe alone due to bandits.

Soon enough, he reached the holdings of Bann Robert Margrave, and the castle was certainly an impressive sight, fully decorated and majestic. Likely due to Felros' imminent arrival. It would be good to discuss plans at greater length with his new ally, better still to be introduced to his sister.

Luckily, the journey was free of danger. Any potential enemies ran at the sight of a royal caravan fully armed, and the blight had yet to reach his bannorn.

Robert as well as his mother Jane and his sister Elenore are watching gleefully as Felros rides to the gates of the castle. The town welcomes them with open arms.

REVISION

Name: Canaan

Nationality: Possibly Anderfels

Race: Human?

Age: Mid Twenties?

Occupation: Drifter

Class: Warrior

Specialization: Reaver, Spirit Warrior

Canaan can be considered little more than an enigma to everyone who has met him. His age, where he comes from, even whether Canaan is his real name are all unknown and he usually less than willing to give answers. He appears as a tall middle aged man with Black Hair, sickly pale skin, blood shot eyes with darkened lips and circles under his eyes, but do not let his looks deceive you, his skill with a sword is unquestionable and he has two which he wields without fear.

The sound of shattering glass rang as a man came flying through the tavern window and landed in the mud. The door swung open and a group of four men emerged laughing at him as he began to push himself up onto his knees only to be kicked in the gut and kick back into the mud.

Brigand: Now see what you've made us done! All we asked for was a single drink. Was it worth it friend?

As the group gather around the cloaked man, the watch saw the event and began to run down the street. The man though wasn't so helpless as he first seemed though. Even with the weight of the armored man pushing him to the ground he slowly lifted himself up out of the mud and grabbed the leader's leg and tripped him forcing him of of him then quickly rose with an upper cut into the next man's jaw leaving him stunned before bringing his elbow back into the one behind him's face and head-butted the last one before moving away from them in peace, but they couldn't leave well enough alone. The leader managed to get to his feet and drew his sword and tried to stab him in the back only for the stranger to roll to the side some and brought his arm down onto the leader's and forced his sword from his head and cut the next man's throat with a swift and single swing just before he reversed the blade and Pommeled the next man in the throat. He turned his eyes on the last one but this display had shaken him and he turned tail and run. The leader punched him multiple times in the side to no avail, instead the stranger shifted his arm causing a loud and grotesque snap and the leader screamed in pain before being tossed to the side. The stranger then calmly walked up to him as he tried to scoot away and held the end of the sword to his throat. The stranger now stood a somewhat more intimidating figure clad in a black cloth cloak tightly wrapped around him with only some of his sickly pale skin revealed from the shadow of his hood.

The guards of Bulwark, the capitol of Robert's bannorn, swiftly move to arrest both the brigands and Canaan and take them away, so as not to have them interrupting the affair of Felros' visit.

Felros entered through the main get, atop his horse with the royal guard not far behind. The streets were magnificently decorated, the signs of Robert's heraldry releasing an aura of power. No matter how illusionary it may be.

Soon enough, his horse and guard stop within the town, outside the manor gates, awaiting the Margrave family.

(Royal? you're noble, not royal. xD )

Robert and his small family were waiting outside the door to the great hall. Now Robert walks forward, arms raised with a smile on his face, towards Felros.

(Ugh! Someday... xD )

Felros dismounted his horse, a great big grin on his facem before he walked towards the family.

"Ah! Bann Robert Margrave, it is good to finally meet you in person, I'm sure we have much to discuss." He said enthusiastically. Before turning to Elenore ad Jane. "My ladies, I am honoured to meet you." He said, with a respectful nod to Jane, and a smile towards Elenore.

(Not if my warden has anything to do with it! "Alistair will be king and I will rule by his side!" xD )

The guards subdue the brigands, then they turn to Canaan and say "Come on lad, don't cause any trouble today."

Elenore blushes and curtsys back at Felros politely.

Robert says "Much to discuss we have, my friend! But first, let us get you and your men here situated comfortably." and he signals to some servants who step forward "These servants will lead you and your men to your chambers so you may get some rest before we speak tonight."

(Your warden be damned!)

Felros nods happily at Elenore, and then turns to follow the servants. "Very well, we'll talk soon, I'll not keep you waiting too long."

Felros followed the servants to his chambers, his men now making idle talk and chatting, likely happy to be able to eat, drink and rest. They hadn't had any peace since Ostagar, this was the first time morale seemed relatively high.

Upon reaching his chambers, Felros made himself at home, the room was large and well-decorated, certainly a blessing to receive. He'd make sure to thank Robert later for it. Deciding he needed at least some rest, Felros instructed to wake him in two hours, and he decided to have a brief nap, to restore his energy.

(Many have thought that same thing, my friend. xD )

Robert spends some time talking to his mother and his sister, his sister thinks Felros is quite the catch and can't wait to talk to him in depth after dinner tonight.

Robert then does the ever necessary work of commanding his bannorn. His seneschal tells him some wanted bandits were arrested a bar brawl and no one claimed the reward.

He is also told that a smaller town in the bannorn, "Hillguard" a place of less than a thousand people, has been experiencing increasingly more organized bandit raids and that more troops must be dispatched to help deal with the problem.

Felros after having a sufficient rest, is then awoken by the servant, before he then sends a letter of report to his own seneschal, and asks for an update on how the bannorn fares. Now happy with the letter, he makes his way towards Robert's study in order to discuss business for a short while before dinner.

Robert is in his study with his seneschal and his captain of the guard, they are discussing troop deployment throughout the bannorn when Felros enters

"Forgive the interruption My Lords, but I have had my rest, and decided I would visit, to discuss business?"Felros said, folding his armsand awaiting an answer, not meaning to be rude t Robert or his Seneschal.

Robert stands to his full height and smiles "It was no problem, friend! Come, join us if you would. It would be nice to have a strategist as great as yourself join in this discussion."

"Your words honour me, my friend." Felros said, walking forward and taking a seat along the duo, "What shall we discuss first then, my friends?" He asked Robert, curious as to hat the man found most important.

"First, the deployment of my guardsmen along the roads and throughout the village. But that's not what's most important." Robert points to a few towns on the map and then starts pacing back and forth "Our enemies thought to conquer us with their armies, and now they have no armies, why do we not take their lands by force? Macnamara. Kinsing. Lollard. I have incriminating evidence against them all, more than enough to put us in the right... after we've added their lands to our own..."

Felros tapped his chi inquisitively, thinking on this proposition,"I see... And why wouldn't Loghain help his loyal vassals? If even the smallest portion of the Teyrn's army come after us, we'll be in very poor position... Loghain does not care for incriminating evidence, as seen with his blatant betrayal,. What makes you think we could take their lands anyway? Our armies are not large, our enemies may be weaker, but a wr could still be more than costly..."

"It could, but this evidence can be used to get our neighbors loyal to Alistair and the rebellion to offer us military aid. And with Loghain busy fending off enemies nearer to the capitol, we should have little to fear from him. I've already begun preparing a force capable of taking Kinsing's lands from him, if you could offer the support of Highcastle, we could field 500 men, with hundreds more mercenaries ready to join the cause should we need them."

"Very well, I suppose it's as good a plan as any, and not striking back will create more problems in the future, I believe Bann Ordran is loyal to Alistair, and has a force greater than our own, I doubt he would join us, but he may be persuaded into assaulting Bann Macnamara, the two border each other, and have had high tensions since Loghain's retreat."

Robert smiles "I'm glad you agree. I think we can convince Ordran to help us, but I must handle something in the North Hills first. Large forces of organized bandits have been raiding the town of Hillguard and they must be dealt with before they become a threat, we ride with the force I've been training the day after tomorrow if you would like to join us, I'll let you think it over, for now, the women wait for us at dinner, let us be off."

Felros stood up, and prepared to follow Bann Margrave to the dining hall, "Organised bandits? Surely you don'teed to ride with a force?" He asked, confused as to why a noble would combat petty bandits.

"They are worse than they sound, must be deserters from the royal army leading them. They're well trained, equipped from looting my villages, and have recently demanded that the town be handed over to them or they will capture it, surely you understand I can't let something like that go."

"I never asked you too, but you yourself riding with a force of soldiers? I believe you could dispatch a force without you, it is your bannorn, and you can do as you wish, but I'd assume your skills would be most useful here, your seneschal can only do so much."

"You make a valid point. But I am most intrigued in seeing this ragtag army that has defeated all forces sent at it to date, and I need to witness my troops in action, to see if they are capable of defeating the Bann Kinsing or Macnamara's forces."
