Name: Kallana Aeducan

Gender: Female

Sexuality: ??? (sexually attracted to men, might be to other genders; might be aro-spec)

Race: Dwarva Casteless

Class: Two-Handed Warrior

Specialization: Champion (later; Reaver)

Talents: Threaten, Pommel Strike, Critical Hit, Mighty Blow, Powerful Swings, Two-Handed Sweep

Skill: Coercion

Personality: Cunning, political, smart.

Kallana was raised as all Dwarva of the noble caste are - with a weapon in hand and the constant lesson that you're only as good as your words make you. She was always well aware of the political games that her caste played and was well aware of how snug in the centre of them she was. She was an heir and she, theoretically, had the ability to create more heirs. She was desirable as most birthing dwarves were. And as she grew she learnt how to make this work for her and for her House.

Kallana had the uncanny ability to see most sides of a tale and to favour the side that would put her on top, one way or another. Sometimes that meant helping a Casteless and sometimes that meant making a Merchant dissappear without a trace. Though she sought to always educate herself, she respected the opinions of those who were trained in matters that she was not.

Origin (Noble Dwarf):

It was the eve of her honour - being granted the title of commander officially. The next day they would march beside the Grey Wardens themselves and they would march against the Darkspawn. It was meant to be her crowning glory.

The evening itself went well enough. She pitted Houses against themselves, as she always did. She attending the Proving held in her honour, though not with great interest. Bhelen and she teased their mutual older brother, as they did. And she mingled with the people because she knew a Noble without friends was soon casteless. When Bhelen confronted her and told her that Trian was planning her assassination she played things smart - it was a heavy accusation. She played it cool and trusted her own abilities. Let Trian try to kill her; she would have him caught red-handed.

Then came the day and she was sent off into the Deep Roads, after Darkspawn and after a Noble treasure. But as she returned from reclaiming the Shield of Aeducan, she heard a terrible cry from down one of the tunnels. She rushed forward, only to find Trian, the heir and her elder brother, dead. She knew at that moment what had truely happened. Bhelen had tried to pit Trian and her against each other but having failed to do so, he had simply framed her instead. It was almost embarressing to have been caught in such a simple trap except Bhelen had executed it so beautifully.

Her father wouldn't believe her and couldn't see the set-up, grief-striken as he was. Her brother had out played her, masterfully. Gorim, her second, yelled with anger be she stood noble and poised. She bore no one there any true hatred - she just wished she'd played the game better. Bhelen's plan unfolded further, and she was sentenced to death in exile. Gorim, at least, had told her of one last hope: the Grey Wardens where still nearby.

As she battled with darkspawn she battled, too, with the decision. It was proper and dignified to die culling darkspawn. But her brother hadn't allowed for any justice in her sentence. She was not willing to die and she felt a coward for it. She decided, in the end, that the Grey Warden's cause was noble enough to dedicate herself to it. In the Deep Roads, Kallana found them and humbly requested to join.

Demon Leverage: The return of her caste and her House (as she dearly wishes she was still an Aeducan). Joining the Grey Wardens (as she she feels shame for having used such a loophole).

Companion: Zevran or Shale (though I haven't particularly strong feelings about this).

Other: This was not my first Warden but is probably my favourite. I have others if a different sort is preferred.

Questions: I posted these in the OOC but they kinda effect my CS so...

Altibon Da'Lanic

General Information

Fullname: Altibon Da'Lanic

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Sexual Orientation: Straight

Race: Elf

Companion: If I had to pick one it would be Leliana.

Appearance

Height: 5' 4"

Description: Altibon has a body that is fairly toned but by no means all that strong looking. His ears are less pointed than most elves, making him look almost human. His hair is dark brown along with his eyes. Beyond that he looks normal compared to others of his kind.

Clothing Style: If he is not wearing his heavy armor (which boost his abilities as an arcane warrior) his clothing is simple; making his look like an average being. He always wears a cloth that covers the top half of his head along with a portion of his ears. Due to this Altibon is commonly mistaken for a human commoner outside of his armor.

Mental Characteristic

Best Traits:

~Clever - Altibon is quite clever and has found ways to use his gifts in a way to best suit himself.

~Strong willpower - Altibon in known to have a willpower that surpasses most others he meets.

~Powerful magic - Altibon's command of the magical arts is very strong; causing many of his spells to leave a devastating after effect.

~Compassionate - Altibon has gone out of his way to help others, even when it has gotten him into trouble.

Worst Flaws:

~Compassionate - Altibon has gone out of his way to help others, even when it has gotten him into trouble. (I feel it belongs in both sections)

Origin

Brief retelling of your origin: Due to Altibon refusing to use damaging magic the circle had to find other types of magic for him to use. The instructors taught him defensive and healing magic thinking he still needed to have some types of magic. On his own time he taught himself how to use magic to bolster his strength. Altibon asked one of the templars to teach him how to use a sword and shield in combat to which he was glad to help. Needless to say his Harrowing went without a hitch at a very young age. Over time Altibon started to hide some armor and a weapon; those of which he had smuggled in for him. He had planned to escape from the tower the first chance he got, having always hated the watchful eye of the templars. When he was about ready to escape from the chantry Duncan came to the tower and Altibon overheard him speaking to the First Enchanter. The conversation he heard was about taking a mage for the Grey Wardens. Even though it was fairly improper Altibon walked into the room and volunteered himself for the spot. After some convincing he was finally accepted. He went to get the armor he had hidden around the tower and (while surprising pretty much everyone) told them he was ready.

Demon Leverage: Altibon's affinity with magic became known when he was living in the Denerim Alienage. He was very young at this time and he accidentally set a fire with his magic in the orphanage. The fire killed many inside the orphanage but as a whole the fire was put out and all was good in the end. Altibon blamed himself for starting this fire and refused to use damaging magic due to this incident.

Combat Details

Class: Mage using a sword in one hand

Specialization: Arcane Warrior

Spells: Combat Magic, Spell Wisp, Aura of Might, Fade Shroud, Arcane Shield, Heal

Skill: Herbalism

Combat style: Altibon gave up damaging magic when he accidentally burned down a chantry. Luckily for him he found a way to channel his magic in a way that allows him to use his magic for physical strength. Instead he uses a shield, sword, defensive magic, and healing during combat.

~Apostate - Altibon is so against being under the watchful eye of the chantry he has helped mages escape from the templars causing him to be wanted.

Origin

Brief retelling of your origin: Altibon ambushed a group of templars that were escorting a mage to Aeonar in an attempt to free the mage. In the process of fighting the templars the mage started attack his elven savoir. It turns out that the mage was helping the templars to capture Altibon in exchange for his life. Now weakened and captured Altibon was taken to the mages tower for a time while the templars rested before taking him to Aeonar himself. Due to having made a name for himself Altibon was given a choice by Duncan: continue along his path to Aeonar or become a Grey Warden. Altibon figured he would be better off fighting darkspawn than being executed, so his choice was an easy one.

Demon Leverage: Altibon once burned down a chantry that resulted in many lives being lost. He feels bad for the innocent lives that were lost due to his accident.

I like your character but your origin section is not right. If you want to be a mage you must have grown up in the tower, just like the game forces you to. I want to try to stay as loyal to the game as I can so could you please edit your character to fit in with the Mage Origin?. Also you gave me a fear but not a 'perfect' setting for the sloth demon to trap you in or a companion, I need both.

REVAS
<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/Revas.jpg.438c87f0277afdd260d08652f1a1e4ad.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="69424" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/Revas.jpg.438c87f0277afdd260d08652f1a1e4ad.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Appearance
Standing at 5'2" Revas has red wavy hair that touches her shoulders and only one working eye; one eye is a cloudy white, and the other is a mint green. On her face she bares the vallaslin of Ghilan'nain, and a couple of scars she received on her first hunt. She wears typical Dalish armor.

Basic Information
Name: Revas

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Panromantic

Race: Elf

Origin: Dalish Elf

Class: Rogue - Bow & Arrow

Specialization: Ranger

Talents:

  • Pinning Shot
  • Summon Wolf
  • Shred (for Wolf)
  • Scattershot
  • Arrow of Slaying
  • Shattering Shot

Skill: Poison-Making

Personality & Background
Personality: Distrustful of outsiders by nature, Revas has never known much of life outside of her clan. She has a fondness for animals, and a love of sweet confections.

Background: Revas is the daughter of Maren, the Sabre clan's halla keeper. Expected to follow in her mother's footsteps, she instead chose to become a hunter with her close friend Tamlen. During her first hunt at age 15, she was attacked by a wolf earning her 2 scars across her face, and resulting in the loss of sight in her left eye.

Although her hunt had ended victorious, Revas slid into a depression over her scarred face and loss of eyesight, fearing she would never be an adequate hunter. During her weeks of healing not even her best friend Tamlen could force a smile out of the Elf, the only thing eventually giving her hope was the Healer's apprentice. The apprentice was a shy, sweet faced girl named Jan the same age as Revas, who happened to be missing two fingers from her dominant hand. It was she who convinced Revas that if she could be a Healer with missing fingers, Revas could still be a Hunter with a missing eye.

Over time Jan and Revas fell in love and formed a relationship, Revas always going out of her way during her hunts to bring herbs for Jan to use in her medicinal concoctions. At age 18 they received their vallaslin together, both choosing to honor Ghilan'nain as a tribute to their relationship, and with the belief that mortal beings could still create beautiful things.

At age 19, not even a week before the announcement of the bonding ceremony between her and Revas, Jan was killed by a group of bandits in the forest whilst collecting herbs. Revas, who usually either collected the herbs herself or accompanied Jan had chosen instead to stay at Camp, working on a gift for her beloved. Because of this Revas has always blamed herself for Jan's death.

Reason She Joined the Wardens: At age 23 Revas and her friend Tamlen explored a mysterious cave together filled with all sorts of strange artifacts. After a heated argument about whether or not they should return, Revas angrily left Tamlen in the cave alone and returned to camp. When a day later Tamlen still had not returned, Revas lead a search party to the cave he was last seen in. A Grey Warden was found in the cave's midsts, informing the Dalish that he had been there for days and had not seen Tamlen. It seemed there was simply no trace of her friend left anywhere.

Wracked with guilt over the death of the two people she loved most dearly, Revas volunteered to join the Grey Wardens as penance, with the hope that constant battle with the Darkspawn would bring her a quick end.

Additional Information
Demon Leverage: Revas still mourns her first love deeply, and feels fully responsible for the disappearance / death of her best friend. Under the Sloth Demon's control in the fade she would believe herself at her bonding ceremony to Jan. Tamlen would be alive and well and joining in on the festivities.

Companion: ...DOG?

Other: After being attacked by a wolf and losing the sight in her left eye, Revas felt the need to appease Fen'Harel, the trickster god of her people, by always leaving some her game out for them during her hunts. As a result she learned more about the creatures and eventually learned to call on them to aid her in her hunt. She keeps the tooth of the wolf who attacked her in her pocket as a remembrance to never let her guard down.

Name: Caine Cousland

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Closeted Homosexual, he likes men but he knows that he will be expected to continue the family line so he keeps his interests secretive.

Race: Human

Personality: Responsible, Sarcastic, Playful, Helpful. As a noble Caine didn’t have to work in order to stay alive, so he found himself with a lot of free time outside of combat training and schooling. He spent this time pulling pranks and being a general pain for Nan to deal with; these hobbies caused Caine to learn lock picking and stealing as a way to keep him entertained and informed on matters he was too young to know about. Now grown, this hasn’t changed much, but he has learned when to be serious and the meaning of the word responsibility. He treats all races with the respect and compassion his family is known for and since he has looked up to his father ever since he was a child, Caine tries to honor his father’s name by joining the Wardens and upholding the principles he set out for himself and his family. Yet this desire is overshadowed by his hatred for the Howe family and he wants to see Howe dead even if it means that the last of the Cousland family has to die in order to make it come true.

Origin: Human Noble

Brief retelling of your origin: Caine went about his day, doing what was asked of him while also being sure to make the guests feel welcomed. Caine was sure to approach and introduce himself to every important visitor; it was expected of him after all. When making contact with Duncan, Caine simply agrees with his father’s stance on the matter, preferring to stay neutral on the entire issue. Once dismissed from the main hall Caine wanders his home, making sure to fetch his dog before Nan lost her mind. As a devout member of the Chantry he headed off to ask for a blessing from the Maker, to protect his men and his family in the upcoming battles. Once both tasks were completed he finally went to speak with Fergus and after a touching scene with his family and promising his son in law to show him how to use a sword, Caine heads off to bed only to woken up to barking and screams. Caine immediately becomes furious when he sees the Howe crest yet he stifles his rage and agrees to help his mother search for the others but it was too late, all of his family, friends, and servants were dead. The only victory the last remaining Couslands manage to grasp was getting to the family heirloom before Howe, which Caine now wields in his main hand. Caine knew better than to fight with his mother so when she told him to flee without her and to join the wardens, he agreed without question, making sure that he told them that he loved them before escaping the Howe’s attack. This was not what he wanted but it was what needed to be done.

Demon Leverage: In order to tempt Caine the demon would just have to offer to kill Howe and stain his family name so much so that there would be no coming back. A perfect scenario would be Caines family (mother, father, brother, family in law, and even Ares) all sitting down and eating dinner, no talk of politics or war, just teasing and enjoying each other’s company.

Class: Duel Blades

Specializations: Assassin

Talents: Mark of Death, Lacerate, Device Mastery (deft hands), Stealth Mastery, Whirlwind, Cripple

Skill: Stealing

Companion: Zevran

Other: I don’t really even like playing humans but we had enough elves. I couldn’t stand there not being a balance of party members.

Would you mind if I join in on this? I'm possibly one of the biggest dragon age fans you may ever meet on this planet. And I saw some of the post in the rping thread, and good god I thought the bbcodes you guys are using made all the more amazing! So I would love to join you

@Viper[/URL] privately to see if something can be worked out if you are interested in joining. I think, though, since we are going with the original origins, that the only spot left without stepping on anyone's toes would be a City Elf Sword & Shield Warrior, since everything else is already taken. We would have to backtrack a little though, so PM her and see if that's something she'd be okay with.

@Robin man - I ditto the PMing Viper directly idea. However would like to point out that we also don't have a Dwarf Commoner origin either (and another dwarf would mean we didn't have three elves and only one of every other race <_<). Also ironically, we technically have a Sword&Shield guy - he just happens to be a mage ( :P )

But mostly PM Viper. Ask if she's okay with it at all and then figure out which would be the best role. Maybe just don't set your heart on anything, yet «heh»

Name:

Mathias K. Cousland

Gender:

Male

Sexuality:

heterosexual

Race:

Human

Personality:

Now when you see Mathias and know of his family background, some may expect a sophisticated and noble individual. Most people are very wrong with that assumption with the last living Cousland. Mathias is very thick-head, blunt, rude, very stubborn, thinks realistically, he stats his opinions on any type of matter and he very rarely cares if they hurt anyone's feelings or not. There's one thing that Mathias loves to do above anything else is fighting, there's nothing on earth that's better then the adrenaline rush he gets, all that blood pumping, and the risk of death or severe injury is all exciting to him, and he takes every fight he's been in and try's to improve himself, if he thought that something he didn't feel right or if he thinks there's area for approvment, you will see him training whenever he's not doing anything important, and he's very serious when it comes to his skill in battle, so he will focus on training for however long he takes, which normally go for hours on end, or until he needs to stop.

One thing that can be surprising about Mathias is that he can be very supportive, and that he can be good when it comes to giving advice. But he doesn't use those two verbal skills of his very often because everyone would assume that his answer to a problem would be to hit something harder then last time.

Something that doesn't do very often is making traps. Ever since he was a young man barely able to grow facial hair he found traps interesting, interesting to the point that he wanted to make sme himself, and he did so. Every now and then if he had the components to do so he will make a trap, now he particularly likes to make lures, and explosive traps, he finds those two the most affective type of traps to make, that diesnt mean he can't make other kinds of traps he just doesn't want to.

Origin:

Human noble

Brief retelling of your origin: What's there to tell? One night the bastard Arl Rendon Howe attacked my long time home while we were at our weakest. Just before the bulk of Howes army invaded the home I escaped with the leader of the Grey Wardens without my parents, they told me to leave them while I had the chance. With what I can find out so far I might be the Last of the Couslands.

Demon Leverage: With how stubborn Mathias is and with the way he just thinks of everything there's one thing that a demon could use for leverage. If they can make his imaginary friend Rock riding in on the first archedemon, with a red headed female bard named Normandy, and the archedemon could give him the powers of a archdemon, then maybe you'll have his way.

Class:Weapon and Shield, mainly a mace

Specialization: Berserker

Talents:Shield Bash, Assault, Shield Defense, Shield Balance, Shield Cover, Over Power
