Roleplay for LifeNovel & Rantos

We felt like we had no reason to live, which is why we decided to become the future generation of homo-sapiens.

"Welcome to RECON where we dedicate ourselves to the improvement of the superb species of mankind! Here at RECON we provide our staff with beneficial insurance, caring support, and overall non-threatening work! Of course no one wishes to hear such statements but many people discredit our research that they spread false rumors."

But it was all a big mistake. Our decision has become the death of us. The people of RECON torture us everyday blinded by their false goals of total control.

"Now if you follow me you will see some of our elite scientists currently working on an experiment with lab rats. I know it may seem inhumane but with advanced technology we don't test on the rats until we are sure it will work rather than try each possibility knowing there is a chance of failure. As our slogan says, "Failure is not an option, it is a choice. And we deny that choice!"

Every day they come and inject all kinds of chemicals into us worried about nothing. Insanity lights up their eyes and monstrosities drive their bodies. It scares me to think that these people don't see us as the same as them. To me we may be even lower than lab rats. Those lucky b*******.

"Well this is the end of the tour of RECON! I hope that we have inspired you to strive to your fullest potential and achieve any goals you wish to set yourself on! We all have a reason to live; to become greater!"

Oh how these people steal our false hopes, dreams, and personalities! They are not human! They believe that humanity can be greater well they probably don't even believe in humanity and desire better! All humans make mistakes! All humans are imperfect! All humans cannot correct their wrongdoings! All humans cannot protect the progeny! We all have a reason to live; to be human!

If only I could have seen that sooner...I would not be in this situation now...

Below the depths of RECON are undetectable, underground labs where convicts, homeless people, and sometimes even volunteers who were brainwashed by the ideals of RECON are tested upon. Since this lab is hidden from the government the scientists are free to do as they please. Currently they have been developing these pills that provide humans with extraterrestrial abilities but some have died from such changes. The current tests being distributed grant the test subjects with a specific ability for a certain time. Perhaps one subject can have mind-reading abilities for two hours while another can have shapeshifting abilities for two days. It all depends on the characteristics and qualities of the subject.

For our characters they are two veteran subjects that basically can control any abilities given to them for any length of time they desire but only they know that not the scientists, what they will do with this secret depends on them.

"RS-V2 please report to the main testing chambers."

The monotone, eerie announcement sent shivers down her back. "Another day, another test..."

Nia positioned her arm to heave herself up from the fetal position she laid on the stark bed. Darkness greeted her as her eyes opened. Her eyes did not shy away from the absent color instead they adapted to them. Soon shapes began to appear and the edges began to define themselves. Everything seemed as clear as if the lights were on. If you looked at Nia's eyes at this moment you would see that the pupils of her sunfire eyes were at an abnormal size to adjust the dark. This was a side effect of the many tests that were circulating through Nia's blood, if that is what is even flowing in her system. The minuscule hairs on Nia's body rose from her body registering the room temperature.

"Already experimenting?"

Quietly under her breath Nia whispered, "Room temperature is at 0 degrees Celsius which changed from initial of 32 degrees in five minutes."

A sudden bell rung beside the bed of Nia, "Correct RS-V2. You have earned breakfast. Report to the main testing chambers as soon as you have finished your fill."

Nia sighed. "Woo...breakfast..." She shifted her legs over the edge of the bed feeling a slight ache tingling down the limbs. The sudden change in temperature was finally having an effect on her body. "Oooo ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch..." Nia's legs moved stiffly trying to warm themselves up before they moved flexibly. "God these tests are killing me..." she grumbled as she finally stood up and stretched popping all of her bones in her body.

Nia placed her hands on her opposite arms and began rubbing them hoping the friction would speed up her body heat. She slowly shuffled over to the only other furniture in her room, a wardrobe. Her right hand moved away from her arm as it wrapped itself around the knob of the wardrobe. Nia was not anticipating the frozen temperature of the knob and hissed as she felt the shock from the contact of two different temperatures. Her hand recoiled from the object that placed harm onto her skin but she quickly placed it back on the knob pulling through the tortuous pain in order to open the wardrobe. There she grabbed the simple gray subject coat they issue to all experiments. Currently she was wearing only a sports bar and underwear. After grabbing the clothing she quickly dressed herself sighing blissfully as she felt her body finally warming up. Her hair provided little warmth but after dressing it felt as though it amplified the heat by ten. The only body parts that were still cold were her feet and hands, two parts that she could not cover.

Nia dragged a hand through her messy hair as she shuffled over to the door of her room. Her hand unconsciously grabbed the dog tag that hung from her necklace and quickly brought it down to the scanner located right beside the handle of the door. Without the dog tag Nia would not have access to exit or enter any room of the facility. She gritted her teeth noting how this was one of the things that peeved her about this company. Then her thoughts began wandering to how just a few floors above them are oblivious denizens strolling above the pathways of freedom, happily skipping their way with their freedom.

As her hand pushed open the door light suddenly filled her vision causing a pang of a headache. Nia grumbled a bit narrowing her eyes to lessen the pain. Soon her pupils began decreasing in size soon returning to the normal shape of a human. A sigh escaped her mouth once again. One could say Nia was tired of all this crap.

"Good morning Nia."

Nia's eyes popped open and her heart thumped even harder. The hairs on the back of her neck rose with pleasure. She turned around smoothly, putting on a facade of calmness, "Hey Leo." A smile rose up on Nia's rosy cheeks as she made eye contact with her main support, Leo. "Those b****** started early this morning didn't they?" he remarked. Nia rolled her eyes, "Tell me about it."

"But at least I get to see you," Leo whispered as he wrapped his arm around Nia. She squeaked in response melting onto him. But then immediately a flash of warning ran through her body. They weren't suppose to display affection in the lab. Nia responded by shoving herself gently off of Leo turning her attention down the white hallways of the building. "Don't worry I checked the perimeter before I came to see you," he whispered into her ear tickling her neck with his husky breath.

"Still Leo the last thing I need them to do is harm you in some way. I can't lose you." Nia looked into his blue eyes with a plea of love.

"Don't worry I'm always with you." His hands wrapped around her hands that were on his chest. "Now c'mon let's go get that breakfast."

Nia just gave a small smile as Leo led them down the hall to the main experimentation chambers.

That was the last of Nia's happiest moments.

"Leo!" Nia screamed as the guards pounced onto him, punching any surface area of Leo. Nia screeched on the top of her lungs soon opening one of the test abilities of high pitched frequencies. The magnitude of the frequency took some effect on the guards, causing some to wither and fall onto the ground with blood spilling from their ears. Leo was not affected for he immediately shielded himself by blocked his eardrums with cotton that he materialized. Nia jumped onto Leo's arms but that moment soon disappeared as more guards pounced onto the two of them. Nia was about to release another screech when someone injected a chemical into her arm causing the room to become blurry and dark. "Leo..."

A cold liquid splashed onto Nia's face. Some entered her nostrils causing her to choke awake. Her eyes flashed open trying to remember what happened.

"Leo!"

Immediately her body tried shifting from the position it was held in, but she could not break free. Her wrists were bounded by some type of material not familiar to her. Some dried blood stained the ground beneath her as she saw that it came from her wrists. A slight pain trembled through her arms as she tried to break free. But all her struggling soon stopped when a light turned on. Her eyes turned over to the center of the dark room to see Leo...in two pieces.

"LEO!"

More struggling erupted from her body. Tears blurred her vision but her mind captured the haunting image. The once beautiful Leo was battered, bruised, broken, and busted. He was naked on the ground with blood pretty much painting his body. His upper half of his body was lying apart from the lower half of his body. Signs of struggle was apparent on the body but his expression was one of peace.

"LEO!"

Nia bawled on the ground feeling a surge of power flowing through her body that caused fractures on the ground beneath her. She soon felt the shackles on her give up from the sudden power flowing out of her. Her hair soon began rising up to an unknown influence. Her muscles tightened causing the blood vessels within them to pop out threatening to burst. Her mouth widened open screaming out the life inside of her. Her sunfire eyes began blazing soon lighting up with an eerie light that never occurred. The colors of her hair began changing to a fiery red that soon matched her eyes and the air around her began concentrating around her soon forming a visible aura shape around her.

"LEO!"

Her head whipped around to the cameras in the room and her eyes glared down the people on the other side, "You will regret this."

"Why do you resent our fate. The fate of all in this facility?"

Her words still resounded inside Avon's head, at the time he found it an odd question to ask. Everyone in the facility hated it here, there wasn't a single person that liked it here. Looking back at it now Avon now knows what she meant by that. She never meant to start like testing but rather she was asking him why he was fighting destiny. Its a question that Avon has thought about forwards and backwards, he understands it all, it's the only thing in his life he has put this much thought into. Why fight destiny? Avon still couldnt think of an answer to that question, the last question Megaera asked of him and he can't even answer it. In spite of him the memoires of the day came back to him.

"One day im going to have to leave you. In this facility nothing lasts too long." Avon couldn't help but wonder what Megaera meant by that. Megaera would always be with Avon, they would wake up at the same time, they would eat at the same time, then would be tested at the same time. Avon couldn't handle the thought of anything messing that up so everytime Megaera said that Avon just let it slide. That fateful breakfast before the end. By the time it was lunch Megaera was nowhere to be found. Without a trace she was gone for the whole lunch. Over time his anxiety rose, every lunch that passed without her Avon could feel his happiness slipping away and his sanity following after it. Everyday he looked for her and every night he thought about her. After 10 days he didn't know how much more he could take without her, then on the 11th day he was woken by an unfamiliar voice over the intercom in his room.

EDITING!

The spray of blood coming from the body of the now decapitated Megaera. It covered Avon in red and halted him from screaming. It was too shocking for him to handle, Avon shut down, and fainted.

When he awoke he was long longer in the mess hall but rather in his own room. Everything was a blur and his head hurt. He could feel it throbbing in pain and when Avon tried to recall what happened last night, he screamed. From the intercom in his room he could hear the scientist from last night say. "Congrats Avon. You passed the final stage of your test."

"AV-0N Please report to the main testing chambers."

A few tears ran down Avon's face as he recalled the memories of when Megaera died. It happened on this day two years ago. Sighing Avon got out of bed, he slept with his cloths on last night so he didn't see a reason to change them today. He took the dog tag on his table and tried to use it on the scanner to open the door. There were three beeps signalling that it didn't work. Avon tried a few more times and they all ended in failure. Avon clenched his right hand into a fist, a few veins started to pop up and all of them looked as if they were about to burst. Avon pulled his right arm back and aimed for the scanner. He sent his fist down into it with all his force, the scanner didn't move but a crack formed across the screen. A single beep came from it signaling that he was successful. The door opened and the speaker on the roof crackled and a person spoke from it.

"Good job AV-0N. You have earned breakfast, now report to the testing chamber as soon as you are done."

"Yay me." Avon said sarcastically in response. He walked out his room and the door closed behind him. Avon looked down the hall, the mess hall was only five minutes away.
