He prefers to wear neutral colors, clothing really isn't that important to him. He likes band t-shirts and jeans.

Personality:
Zims personality can best be described as stoic and brooding. Since a young age he has had to learn to put his emotions aside to care for others in his family. It's the same old story, step-dad was an alcoholic and mom wasn’t much better. His presence is humble and quiet, he can seem unapproachable but he has the desire for his friends to trust him fully. Zim is somewhat hypocritical because he is unable to communicate his true feelings and is often quick to recede behind sarcasm and false optimism. He grows uncomfortable if any weakness is shown. He bounces back from conflict easily and doesn’t often choose to hold grudges. However his temper can be set off easily, and can be explosive even if it takes something significant to get him too angry.

Background:
Zim had lived on the other side of the country until the age of 11 when his family decided to move to Gaines Oaks. The move hit him hard and he had a lot of trouble at home. He didn't fit in well at first but as high schooled rolled around he found his people, or maybe they found him. When they wanted to start The Children of Asmoday Zim wasn't fully on board, he didn't really believe in all that stuff. As some time passed he was convinced to participate but he also thought it was a harmless and something to do around this dumb town. He was dead wrong.​

Personality: A Generally distant one, he doesn't like being part of the madness, but this joke seemed too good to pass up, now, He's learning to face his demons head-on, quite literally. He warms up quickly, and becomes quite affectionate and trusting

Background: Trauma all around, from being kidnapped, to watching his mother die, his father die and his sister, not to mention his big brother, and his father being abusive and the cause of Luke's death, it's no wonder Yuri doesn't generally trust anyone anymore.

Miles is around 6’0”, had dirty blonde almost brunette hair that is often unkempt, occasionally he does like to comb and put gel in it but that’s a good day. Miles’s outfits also often consist of some form of flannel for unknown reasons. He has a rather angular lanky build, and freckled tan skin. He also had a very large port wine stain birth mark on a portion on his left arm.

Miles later on develops a form of shapeshifting, except he sadly turns into a horrific mess of a creature that terrifies those around him. He cannot control when it happens either, and is often known to go into a literal destructive frenzy. He views it as more of a curse than anything.

Personality
Miles is crude, stubborn, and slightly narcissistic. He has good intentions in mind but he hardly knows how to actually execute it into actions. Miles is known for teasing and giving others a hard time, as well as having a short fuse. He gets along with a few people, but more than often he’s on everyone’s nerves with his attitude. Despite his aggressive personality he’s pretty book smart and has always gotten good grades.

Background
Miles comes from a small family, being a only child. His parents are hardly around, his father being a pediatric surgeon and his mother a lawyer. Miles is expected to perform well in anything he does and to have a high paying career like his parents. Miles is a smart kid but often falls into bad crowds and friend groups, he also has a slight interest in theology and studying various religions.​

She never fit in much as kid, she can be slightly nerdy and likes to talk about a wide range of topics. Wyn enjoys having strong relationships with others. Her friends have become even more of a family to her than her own. Wyn has never had much of a dark side, yet when she receives this curse who knows what will be unleashed

Background
Wyn grew up in the small town with three younger brothers and a carpenter for a father. She never knew her mother much, but she left when she was very young. Since then Wyn has mostly been on her own. Her father is very busy with work and her younger brothers. Now that she's older she just comes and goes from her house when she pleases, not a lot of parenting going on. Probably why she got caught up in this cult. ​

Fashion was never something she cared about and mostly just wears simple clothes, nothing fancy or extravagant.

Personality: Annie is generally nice and friendly but she's blunt and honest, making her come off as mean. She's also short tempered and quick to lash out. She speaks her mind and mostly doesn't care about what people think. Annie's also loyal to her friends and sticks with them in most situations.

Background: Annie isn't seen as the bad girl, but she is seen as abrasive and off putting. Most people keep their distance unless they know her. She has an older sister, named Kathryn, who's working to take care of the both of them since their parents died. Since then, she's had it a bit hard, living on the poverty line but she's happy with her sister. Other than that, she's had an average life and there isn't much to note.

Background: messed with the occult as a teen, but never joined anything in specific. After accidentally making a deal with a daemon, they were transfigured into a demonic looking creature that can shape-shift at will. They almost never turn into their true form, as the one time they showed someone it, the person went insane and died from a panic induced heart attack. They recently became invested in a cult that showed up online that they think explains what happened to them.

Appearance: Willow is a bit taller than average at 5’8 with a slender build. Her blonde hair is thick, chest length, and always a bit messy no matter what she does; she tends to sport french braids. Her face is very naturally pouty. She’s known for her big blue doe eyes.

Personality: Willow is a kind, yet reserved girl. She tends to be stoic and a bit emotionally unavailable at times, but is bubbly and excited when she comes out of her shell. A total flirt; she thinks it’s harmless fun, but always ends up in a sticky situation because of it. She’s determined and headstrong, but someone who would gladly throw herself away for the safety of someone close to her. She initially comes off as cold and intimidating, but cares very deeply about other people.

Background: Willow comes from an average family. She has divorced parents, both remarried, and 2 younger sisters: Pia and Allie. She grew up playing sports; soccer and volleyball are her favorites. She has a B average in school and mostly minds her business.

Jack is a quiet, antisocial guy whose safe space was always the internet, it is the only place he could talk freely. When you first meet him he's awkward and sometimes nervous but once you get to know him he is friendly, sarcastic in a way and very honest. He doesn't know much about feelings but he tries his best.

Background
Jackson's parents separated when he was young and he lived with his mother, rarely getting the chance to talk to his father throughout his life. He never had a bad relationship with either of them but once they moved out his mother paid little attention to him the more he grew up. At school he had few friends and always struggled with lessons and social interactions in general, video games and the internet were his only form of escapism.

Powers Cursed With Later On: Strange enough, gaining the ability to turn into this weird wolf person, full with wolf powers(?) and fluffiness!!

Personality: Open minded, and hearted. He might even be about the nicest and innocent of the group, making him seem rather stupid at certain situations when he doesn’t know what ‘69’ means. Although he might even look mute sometimes, Amaterasu is an extremely talkative person, when provoked that is. Sometimes people might not even talk to him in fear of hearing his stories all day.

He’s the type of person to play loud music on the bus when he left his headphones at home. Myōjin is oddly grabby, being a big hugger. It’s strange how he got himself in this cult situation, it seems his curiosity got the best of him.

Background: Amaterasu was born in a protective family, and a big one that is. He has never EVER seen his biological mother and father. Rather, he was adopted by… 8 dads. Sure, it sounds like a big joke, but he was a single child, with 8 dads. I mean, how awesome does that sound?

Since having 8 people looking over your at all time is extremely cloying, Myōjin became a bit of a rebel, dying his hair against the will of half his parents. That’s when he met the group, his 8 dads are still in doubt if they’re a good influence or not.… Probably not.

Background:
Gabriel was born into a poor family, they could barley afford running water and their electricity went out frequently, his father was a drunk and abused both him and his mother quite frequently, it wasn’t a big surprise he had found a cult as his ‘new family’ he would rather do anything than be with his father alone.

APPEARANCE: Upon glancing at the woman, one would quickly notice her diminutive height and elfin appearance. She looks so gentle and soft that she wouldn’t (and couldn’t) hurt a fly. At a closer look, one would notice she is some sort of mixed Asian due to the presence of her epicanthal fold (inner part of the eye), her lack of a nose bridge, and her warm beige skin-tone. Her hair texture, hair color, the shape of her nose, eyes and eye color hint to there being European descent in the mix. Going back to her hair, it is an unruly mess of curls the color of light taupe. Her hair descends to her waist, but is usually thrown into an updo due to the length and how chaotic her locks can be. Her eyes, a mix between almond and round, are the same color as her hair. Her nose is a mixture between her mother and fathers, thus similar to a button shape. Her lips are bow-shaped and often slathered in chapstick (specifically, watermelon flavored) Moving onto her body, she has an endomorph body type with a pear-shaped body. Her years of labor on the farm has helped her keep her weight about average for her height.

CURSE

Aera's newfound abilities is surprisingly plant-related. To be more specific, she has been "cursed" with Chlorokinesis, the ability to manipulate and produce all plants and flowers. However, her new abilities are very sensitive. Chlorokinesis relies heavily on her emotions. If she's too emotional, she may accidentally sprout a tree or flood a room with roots/vines/etc. If she's not careful, she may even turn another living being into a plant.

PERSONALITY

Aera has always been viewed as an extremely sweet, warm, and kind-hearted gal. She was the little girl that’d bring flowers home to her parents, to her teacher, or to her “neighbors” whenever they came over. She was always so helpful and selfless to others, despite her immense shyness once entering school. Loved ones and friends always felt the need to protect this naive, kind little girl.

Like most, family helps shape who you are and who you will become. Aera is the eldest of six and one out of two girls.. Her
brothers being brothers would often pick on each other and wrestle. On top of their wrestling and horsing around, Aera grew up on the farm and her father taught her to be strong and to not be afraid to get a little dirty. Though still having a sweet nature, she grew tough and even boyish-like manners when growing up. As her brothers got older, they knew better to wrestle with her.. but she didn’t. She’s still one to egg on arm wrestles and hold burping contests.
Though the brunette appeared and acted akin to a flower, she loves exploring the woods, playing in the mud, building random stuff with sticks, tending to the farm, etc. Despite how difficult and draining the farm work could be, she loved it. If she failed at a task though (missing her target when hunting, failing to catch a fish, not being strong enough to pull up a weed, etc) she’d always go back at it and refuse help. She’ll let her parents show her, but she doesn’t want them to do it for her. With that being said, Araceli is extremely dedicated and even a bit stubborn.

Aforementioned, Aera is pretty charismatic and not that hard to love.. Nonetheless, she can get flustered quite easily. Whether it be flirtatious jokes, lewd suggestions, etc, she becomes a bumbling mess. Red-faced, stammering, and completely losing her intellect.

Despite the lightness and overall playful demeanor of Aera, darkness does come to interfere. Aera has always been shy in her youth, but that seemed to worsen when dealing with her bigoted family members and classmates picking on her. It was later discovered that Aera would develop Generalized Anxiety Disorder - and she seemed to reach her worst mentally in high school.. Aera thought it embarrassing to be so debilitated by some chemical imbalance in her brain. She hated that she could get an anxiety or panic attack at any given moment for no reason. She hated that she would be reluctant to do things she used to be so confident in. She hated being more sensitive than others. She hated feeling so.. weak. When Aera was capable, she focused a lot of her time on bettering herself and distracting herself. She read lots and lots of books, delved into herbs more, practiced shooting targets, helped extra on the farm, etc, etc. All the while neglecting herself.

Now, though still incredibly sweet and goofy, she is reluctant to reveal feelings to others. She hates being anything other than happy and doesn’t want to be a burden. She loathes the thought of crying in front of others and views it as a weakness when it’s actually not. She’s too wrapped up in her want to help others to even take care of herself sometimes.

TLDR: sweet, friendly, selfless, stubborn, self-neglecting, dedicated, escapist, emotion-bottler, easily flustered, anxious,
ambitious, silly/childish, idealistic, a little naive, but not as much as she used to be

BACKSTORY

Aera was born the eldest to Bong-Cha and Colton Smith in the country of the outskirts of a small, rural town. Her father inherited his grandparent's farm that has been in their family for years. With that being said, Aera was raised in, lived, and breathed the farm. Thanks to her parents' hard work and success, they’ve been able to have a decent, yet humble, life. They never had to fear food not being on the table or not being able to clothe their six children.
Despite the love and support Aera and her other siblings have received from her parents, the outside world wasn’t that nice. Growing up in a small town dominated by small-minded white people led to a lot of discomfort for the Smiths. (ooc: I am mixed and grew up in a small, dominantly white town!! Don’t come for me!) Aera and her other siblings dealt with derogatory comments in school and eventual fetishization when she got older. Aera and especially her younger brothers were bullied throughout school. The bullying would end around highschool, but they still dealt with many microaggressions, blatant racism, fetishization, etc. Not only were some of their classmates racist but so were some of their very own family members. It’d get so bad that Colton would cut ties with family members in order to keep his wife and children comfortable and safe.

Despite all of this, the Smith’s would continue on with their heads up (though her father would often be fuming and would have to be coaxed out of “beating the living shit out of those bigots.”). Besides the support of her family and friends, Aera found solace in the farm, animals, and herbs! Her mother has always had a passion for plants, specifically herbs, and that passed down to her eldest. Aera would often explore the nearby woods, studying the herbs and gathering them, reading about them in her mother's books, etc. This passion soon developed into a possible career.
Upon the last few years of school, she yearned to be a clinical herbalist. However, Aera didn’t want to stray too far from home due to wanting to help her parents on the farm - plus she didn’t want to be far from them to begin with. Unfortunately, the closest university didn’t have anything for herbalists. To substitute that, Aera is planning on attending an online university.

Turns out her plans would change when she stumbled upon a group (a cult, dummy) that she thought she truly fit in with. It was hard finding a group outside of her family that she could trust and relate to. From there, things... spiraled.

The truth is that he is incredibly bored with how his life is. He doesn’t want to see the ones he cares about be hurt but he wouldn’t care if his school was to one explode. He wants something to change in his life. The video games he’s played or things he’s watched offer no real enjoyment for him despite him having a talent for them. Some sort of a danger or some type of event that forces him to make tough decisions in life.

Leo is young man who has no clue where he’s going, only that it will in all likelihood, be to some boring destination. His parents send him to a private school where, despite his anxiety towards taking tests, he does tend to be close to the top of the class. His life is mundane, safe, boring. That was part of the reason he started the whole cult business. He was interested in seeing if doing this would at least help alleviate how he felt.​
