General | David is a pretty laid back person, he's calm in a crisis, he doesn't take things personally, and he doesn't sweat the small stuff. He is also basically incapable of casually liking something. The man probably still has Star Wars bedsheets and is seriously a nerdy goofball. David is also an extremely introverted person, and if he's surrounded by too many people he doesn't know for a long time he can get twitchy and VERY awkward.
Also he uses a flip phone, completely unironically, in this year of 2017.

Biography

David spent a good portion of his youth bouncing around foster families after his mom overdosed on heroin and was sent to a rehab facility when he was four. Since then, she's been sober on and off and in and out of jail and rehab, he tries to keep in contact with her because she's his only immediate family.
As a teen, his life was pretty unstable and he moved around a lot between foster families, and occasionally back with is mom when she was sober, so he was pretty quiet and focused on academics and books. There was never enough to go around, and David is very good at scraping by on very little. Currently, he's living in a tiny apartment crammed full of books and working as a floor guard at the local roller rink.

It's not that Toni has never been denied anything she has wanted, it's that she's never learned to take no for an answer. She will go to whatever lengths she had to in order to get what she wanted, as a child this usually entailed outsmarting or manipulating her parents, who just stopped putting up a fight eventually. Most of her interactions with people are calculated, and she doesn't usually act without thinking. it's fitting that she spends most of her time with robots given her outward personality.
She gets bored very easily, and is prone to sort of manic and scatterbrained episodes where her thoughts just move to fast for her mouth or hands to catch up, she tends to drink to deal with it if she doesn't have a more productive outlet. Toni is also highly empathetic, while she can be distant at best and waspish at worst in her interactions with strangers she is also not in the least bit judgemental, and a really good listener. Your secrets (and your dignity) are safe with her, no matter what your relationship normally is. You're crying, high out of your mind on the floor of some bar bathroom? She'll sit on the floor with you and talk you down without a second thought, and never mention it again.
When shit hits the fan, she really is a good friend even if she can be moody and untrusting. She's generous, resourceful, brilliant, and will do just about anything to help her friends, if she had any.

Toni grew up in Kyoto, Japan, to overbearing parents who have never been satisfied. Her father was a robotic engineer rich from taking military contracts from just about anyone, and sent her to all kinds of private academies around the world as soon as it became apparent that she had a proclivity for it. Her family moved to New York when she was ten years old, and she made the cover of Forbes magazine for the first time when she won a national robotics competition at 13 and her families company, Hayashi Enterprises, filed a patent for a part she designed for the winning robot. She's been in the spotlight ever since then. Later that year she passed a GED test and the MIT entrance exams. She was too young, and the pressure was too much. Failure wasn't an option and she got turned on to the performance enhancing drugs that her study group had started using. Stimulants, appetite reducers and focus aids lead the way to harder things more than once, and copious amounts of alcohol. She almost flunked out her sophomore year when she was fifteen because she was too busy partying and crashing cars to get her school work done. The media had a frenzy, the daughter of one of New York's elite gone wild made for good headlines at least. She probably wouldn't be nearly as famous if not for all the trouble she got into in her early teenage years, and the few more main stream celebrities that she slept with during them, then all of the public events she was dragged to with her parents afterwards, which was their attempt to prove to the public that they had gotten Toni's head screwed back on straight. She's laid off the alcohol since she graduated two years ago, and kicked the harder drugs, but definitely isn't sober. Now she's working on a doctorate thesis and working with the R&D department at Hayashi Enterprises headquarters. She wants to move the company in the direction of civilian technology but doesn't have the power to do so. Rumors have been started that she's planning to separate from the family and start up her own company. She doesn't have enough of her own funds, or she would.

past: Ivina has been indentured to the queen since they were both children, the two of them grew up together. She was initially sold to the royal family as a servant, she doesn't remember how or by who. The issues she has around people touching her stem from one of the palace guards assaulting her when she had first been brought in. She began training to guard the then princess once the captain of the guard noticed her aptitude wrestling with the other servants when she was about seven. Her life has been dedicated to the red queen since then and always shared her distaste for her sister. The red queen and her have always been close, but the power difference has never been set aside. Because of this, Ivina hasn't had much experience with real friendships, she thought she had one with the white rabbit and was heavily affected by his betrayal of the kingdom of hearts.
present: Not much has changed since her childhood. She's had a few brushes with death, naturally, but her fate is to be bound to her queen until her death.
