Murder is Just a Hobby

The following roleplay is a quest like game dealing with a similar story line to that of Donganronpa. Donganronpa is a murder mystery manga in which 14 students with special talents are "supposedly" kidnapped with not much memory and held hostage by a sadistic teddy bear. In this case, we will be using a sadistic cat, but the idea dealing with the murders will stay. In order to leave the school you must get away with murder. Only one person can leave alive. If no one is able to guess the right murder everyone else dies and that one student gets to leave alive. Ready to play?

Characters

Characters will be labeled by the audience, but images and descriptions will be provided. The main character will be created by the audience and allow for you all to feel pretty involved in his/her life and survival. Only I will know about the others lives and true identities. Finding out more will be up to your own choices.

Choices

There are many ways you can go about things, but your choices could mean the death of an individual character or the whole class. It is your job to pick who the murder is in each situation and send them to their death and not yourself. You will need to find items, clues, and helpful tools that can be used for later.

Death

Your job is to not die, but you can die and the story will then end with everything being re-randomized, characters possible changing (depending on how far you got) and the main character changing as the old one is dead. Try not to die, okay?

Exposition

This is the stage that deals with interacting with characters, developing relationships, and hopefully find out some info with the plot. This stage leads to the finding of a crime scene usually.

Investigation

This will be the stage you do most of your looking for the culprit. You will need to examine the scene of the crime, talk to others, and make connections to see if they fit.

School Trial

Here is when life and death get put to the test. Remember that if you are wrong all of you but the person that committed the murder will die. You will ask questions, interrogate, hopefully notice a slip up, and finally choose who you think did the crime and then watch them die!

Chapter One: Special Acceptance

The Letter came in the mail a few days ago and you recall how shocked you were. The only thing you had ever been good at was being Super Average and yet here you were standing in front of the elite school of Hope's Peak Academy. It is said that the school trains only those that rank the highest in their particular field as a way to nurture and help those students grow. You can only dream about being accepted into a place like this, but it seems dreams come true. Maybe you are Super Lucky? What ever the reason you are here and....

Ah...Yes... I remember now you are Satou Haruto an average student, with average abilities and skills. Now even I am questioning how you got here. Looking up at the large Iron gate, you notice that other students have gathered, but there are not as many as you would expect for such an elitist school. You look up at me, but I am merely the narrator and I swear upon an oath to give away nothing, besides you should feel thrilled to even be here among such lovely people. Since you yourself are...Well...

Looks Can be Deceiving




Well, I guess you aren't that bad looking, but you are pretty average with your dark blue framed glasses. You should also think of trying out a more groomed hairstyle since yours seems to be all over the place. A tan might put some life into you and I guess you are pretty okay in the height area standing about 5"11, but I think your only qualifying feature would be those grey eyes even though they make you look a tad dead. Oh, well, you are probably one of those ugly ducklings that turns into a swan, but that is wishful thinking. No need to glare at me! It makes you look like a psycho since no one else can see or hear me. As you stop starring at nothing, you notice that all the students have vanished.


Slam! The gate shuts behind you and everything goes black around you... It seems like only minutes as your eyes open and you gaze around what looks like a classroom. Your head hurts a little as you look around and notice some of the students before.





What should you do?

Ah, it seems you decided on the boy curled up in the corner. He does seem to be the least threatening of the group that you are in here with, but he also is slightly strange to be sitting by himself. Might as well be friendly. You walk up to him and he looks up with two colored eyes, one orange one blue. He doesn't bother to smile as you give him your own "I come in peace" grin. The gray haired boy looks down at his lap and seems to be writing something in which he then holds up a white board. "What is it?" He ask as you think of what to ask first.





What to say tothe boy?

Always Be Polite (Could mean the difference between life or death)




You extend a hand to the boy and give a small, not so confident smile as you state your name. "Hi I am Satou Haruto," the boy seems unamused with your lack of charisma and turns to write on his board again. Once done, the dual eyed boy aims the board at you with a name written on it. "Hisashi Asa," You realize that this is probably his way of talking and not so much that he doesn't like you. Looking around, you decide to ask him something else.

We are doing it this way so that we can get all these in one post and progress quicker. Remember that you can influence your relationship if you are rude or choose to be polite.

So Much Information




You have so many questions to ask as you try to find what to ask first. The obvious answer is "Why do you write on a white board?" Hisashi looked away for a moment as if thinking how to respond, before he started to draw out a scene. You peek over his shoulder and notice it looked like a park or something, but it was quickly erased and you pulled back. He didn't flinch as he wrote something else that simply said. "People," You figure he probably doesn't want to be bothered about it anymore so you move on.


"Do you have any idea what is going on?" was your next question and it looked as if he was just as confused as you. He drew a scene on his board of how he woke up here just like you and how the other two tried to pry open the windows. You node and decide that that is probably all you'll ask today. "Your art is impressive. Same can be said about your handwriting. I hope you can teach me one day when this is all over." You say with a smile as the tv flashes with static. Nothing appears, but a tiny, cheerful voice tells you to head to the gym.


Holding out a hand, you help Hisashi up, who after being complemented, decides to accept. "Uh... Let's get along!" Hisashi nodes and writes a big okay on his board before you two walk behind the other two boys to the gym. When you get there it seems the other students have arrived....





What other students do you see?

? Character creation! I am going to let each person respond with a student. You can post it on the sign-up sheet in regular coding and I will edit it later. Just add the basic info like I did for the three. Only one character. I want you all to feel a connection to these characters so that is why we are doing this. Make sure they are not a character from any of the new and old! I will add the rest.

Introducing MonoNeko




As you enter the gym along with at least 15 more students, you don't seem to have time to really talk as odd theme music plays and a stuffed cat appears from no where.


"Welcome to the new and improved Hope's Peak Academy! Not to be confused with that other one," the stuffed animal spoke and seemed to be the holder of the voice from earlier. It was just as eerie looking it's voice was and it seemed to take pleasure in the student's confusion.


"You are all lucky to be attending this prestigious Academy and get to live here for the rest of your lives!" voices of concern rose and even you seem to be slowly processing the words.
