Does it matter which combat system you use?

I was wondering for those who have designed new charms and martial arts abilities do you take Power Combat or regular combat into account or does it not matter at all?

I would imagine that certain charms would be designed differently for power combat than for regular combat given the rules difference but I have never designed a charm or martial arts form before.

I always assume that any Charm, canonical or not, uses the standard rules set unless it specifically mentions otherwise.

Since I use power combat, then I generally base all my stpries, characters & charms on PC.

Saying that, I have yet to design a MA tree, i'm a tad wary  :?

Do you then add information for power combat or do you not use power combat in your games?  I would tend to assume the opposite with conical stuff since the player's guide myself.

I use some, not all, of it.

Since the PG, official publications have given a normal set of rules, then a separate set for PC (if any) afterward.

That is interesting that they are supporting both systems of combat rather than trying to cut one off completely.  I haven't had time to read a lot of the new stuff as I am trying to catch up with all the older books.

Right, so my list of books to purchase (in order):

Player's Guide

Autocthonians

Savant and Sorceror

Solar splat books

Abyssals

Fair Folk

DB splat books

Outcaste

Manacle and Coin

Blood and Salt

Bone and Ebony

Time of Tumult

Ruins of Rathess

Kingdom of Halta

Houses of the Bull God

Wow - I didn't realize how many books had come out in the 3 years that I haven't been purchasing books (just found some notes I printed from EC1 in 2002). It's going to take some time to get built back up.

I got a chunk of books off ebay about a year or two ago and then have just been purchasing the newer books as i get money and interst, currently I think I am up to date, just not enough time int he day to read all the information.
