Ciera jogged up the steep path, blue eyes seemingly focused on the trail, but in reality she had zoned out and was now locked in a sort of argument with herself. I really should finish that college essay, One corner of her mind insisted. Oh but I have so much other stuff to do. Another replied. Then why are you out here jogging, and not doing it? Another part asked. That shut her up.

She continued going up the steep incline, stopping for a moment to gaze at the large blue police box on the side of the path. "Has that always been there?" She asked herself aloud as she gazed at it. "I'm losing my mind." She said as she turned and continued jogging, appreciative of the burn in her muscles.

She heard a voice up ahead, something very uncommon on this trail. Not many people used it, so the odds of running into one of then were exceptionally low. That was one of the reasons she liked it here. Silence constantly enveloped the seemingly surreal landscape. It was about 5 miles into a hiking trail, so any noise or sign of civilization was constantly being drowned out by the sound of the wind cutting through the tree branches.

The sun was shining and the birds were singing: what a great day to land on Earth! The Doctor had only just arrived, and he was quite glad to be there. This landscape was much better than the previous planets one: it was grassy and peaceful, whereas the last place he had been to was rocky and noisy. Of course, this wasn't the first time the Doctor had been to Earth. He had been many times before, because there always seemed to be some sort of problem going on here. Luckily, he always seemed to blend in on this particular planet, because he took the form of a human, the main civilisation of Earth.

But just because you've been to a planet many times before, it doesn't mean that you've seen it all. The place that the Doctor had landed the TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space) in was surreal, as if it wasn't supposed to be in such a civilised planet. It was also incredibly peaceful, much better than the hussle of the many cities on Earth. To be honest, it was the type of place you would want to go camping at: covered in grass, sunny and quiet. It didn't seem like anyone else was around, so it was perfectly acceptable for the Doctor to talk to himself, right?

"Ah Earth," he thought outloud, "What a wonderful planet!" At this moment in time, he was walking along a trail, or, more rather, a footpath. It didn't sound like anyone else was around, but if they were they would probably hear him. Still, did it matter if someone heard him? Surely people spoke in this area all the time, correct? "Well, this place is far more peaceful than the last place I visited on this planet... Then again, the last place was London..."

As he turned a corner, a girl caught his eye. So he wasn't alone! That means that, surely she heard him speaking? Oh dear... "Greetings!" he exclaimed, looking at the girl.

Ciera looked up suddenly as she heard a voice behind her. She hadn't been aware anyone else came up here. Sure, it was quiet and peaceful, but it wasn't exactly easy to get to.

"Hi." Ciera said as she raised an eyebrow. "Nice day isn't it?" She replied with a smile. He seemed a bit odd. Dressed in a pair of suspenders, a dress shirt, a tweed coat, and... a bow tie? "Nice bow tie." She commented with a smile. She glanced around at the peaceful landscape as she listened to birds tweeting, squirrels rustling through the leaves

(Sorry if it seems short. I am on my phone))

"Yes, it's a great day," he replied, smiling. The girl seemed confused, as if she didn't expect anyone to be around. The Doctor didn't quite understand this, because the place they were in seemed like a nice place that people would enjoy coming to. Still, this was Earth, so culture was different than on Gallifrey. Then again, he didn't remember much of Gallifrey, so he couldn't really make that assumption. "This sun is shining, the birds are singing and the breeze is just right," he added.

The Doctor smiled as she complimented his bow tie. He didn't realise that the girl thought he looked odd, but did that matter? "Why, thank you," he said polity, smiling. "And, might I say, your hair looks wonderful in that ponytail." It only seemed right to compliment her as well. The Doctor was pretty sure that's what people do in this part of the universe.

Ciera smiled at the compliment. "Thanks." She said as she sat back down on the cliff's edge. "So, what brings you here?" She asked as she glanced back at him from her spot overlooking the city. "I mean, it's a pretty remote place. Not many people come here. It's really hard to get to , in case you didn't notice."

She glanced back at where she had left her dirt bike, just by the path. "Car ride to the lot down at the bottom of the mountain, and then a twenty minute drive by dirk bike or ATV." She said as she turned back to look at him. "Sorry, I don't mean to interrogate. Name's Ciera, by the way." She walked up and held out a hand for him to shake.

The Doctor smiled at her comment. It's a pretty remote place. Yes, that was it. He had landed the TARDIS in a remote place instead of a city. That would probably mean he wasn't needed here, but doesn't everyone need a break? Besides, he was in need for a new companion, since his last one left him a couple days back. This girl seemed like a good bet. "Well, actually, I'm not entirely sure why I'm here," he replied, "I guess I just needed a break for the hustle of life."

Politely, the Doctor shook her hand, with a smile. "Please to meet you, Ciera," he said, "I'm the Doctor." Would she ask? Of course she'd ask! Everyone asks!

"Doctor? Doctor Who?" Ciera asked as she furrowed her brow in curiosity. He was a very strange man, but perhaps strange was good. She wondered a lot of things about him. Most of all perhaps, how he had gotten up here.

She didn't see a vehicle, and he most certainly didn't walk. It would take most of the day to get up here by walking, so that was clearly off the table.

Yes. She asked. Just as he suspected. "Why does everyone ask that whenever I introduce myself?!" he exclaimed. "It's just 'The Doctor' or 'Doctor'. I don't understand why people question my name..." Sighing, he looked back at Ciara. She seemed like the curious type, perfect companion material. Perhaps his visit here wasn't pointless after all?

((sorry for the short post, I'll try to keep it as 2 paragraphs after this moment.))

"Okay then. Well, Doctor, how did you get up here? I mean you obviously didn't use a vehicle, I would have heard it. And you didn't walk, it's much to far." Ciera pointed out.

She looked behind him one more time as if searching for a vehicle that she might have missed, but she knew there wouldn't be one. She would have heard the engine from a mile away in this silence.

((tis fine))

Now would he have to mention the TARDIS? Perhaps that wasn't the best idea, because he was posing as a regular human being. Then again, he could never pose as a regular human being for a large amount of time. First of all, if he ever went to the [actual] doctors, they would surely find out about his two hearts. Secondly, soon enough people would probably find his weird but wonderful screwdriver. And there are many, many other reasons that I can't be bothered to explain...

"How I got here? Well, I was just having a-" He paused for a second while he though. "-wander around town when I saw this place in the distance," he lied, "I caught a cab for abit then walked the rest of the way." She probably wouldn't believe his story, but she would find out the truth soon. "How did you get here then?" he asked, not wanting to discuss his answer.

Ciera gave him a skeptic look, knowing that the answer hadn't made since, and that he had just changed the subject so he wouldn't have to talk about it.

"Okay, if you don't want to tell me, than don't." Ciera gave a teasing grin before saying, "I parked my car in the lot at the bottom of the mountain and drove my dirt bike the rest of the way." She nodded to the green MX650 parked near the dirt trail.

The Doctor nodded and smiled. He knew that Ciera didn't believe him, but that didn't matter. Maybe, just maybe, she'd find the truth out soon. That is, if she accepted the offer he was about to give...

"Hey, I have a question," he said. Oh come on! Just ask it! The Doctor took in a deep breath and asked, "Would you like to become my latest companion?" Ever since his last companion left him to live with her family once again, he needed a new one. This girl seemed perfect.

Ciera did a double take at the question. "I'm... sorry?" Was this guy asking what she thought he was asking?

She gave a half laugh before saying, "Look, you seem like a really nice guy and all but we just met and..." She let her voice trail off.

The Doctor laughed extremely loud. So loud, any passer by would think he's insane. Which he is. But that's not the point. "I don't mean it like that! I meant more like a-" He paused as he tried to think of a word. "-co-worker."

Would she understand it in this way? Perhaps not, but hopefully she would. It was kinda hard to explain what 'The Doctors Companion' was without mentioning time/space travel, and that was something he didn't want to mention until she accepted. If she accepted.

Ciera gave him a thoughtful look. "What for," She asked. "I mean what exactly does this companion do?"

This man was certainly interesting. In the ways he spoke and the was so eager to ask her to be his companion yet so reluctant to tell her anything else.

He simply answered her question with: "It's hard to explain." Which it wasn't, but he couldn't go around telling people he's a timelord!

"Look, I'll explain it all if you accept," he promised. "However, if you don't, I can't tell you anything." Unless some aliens show up now, the Doctor added in his head.

Ciera raised an eyebrow and then said, "Alright fine." She walked over to her bike, kicking the kickstand and then climbing On.

"Need a ride?" She asked as she started the .MX650

The Doctor smiled casually, though inside he was jumping for joy. She accepted! He had a new companion! Man, was he glad! Finally, someone to travel through time and space with. Someone to ride in the TARDIS with. Someone to fight with.

"I'll be alright," he said, moving towards her. He looked at her, smiling. "So, do you need to go anywhere?" he asked.

Ciera grinned at him and said, "Only where you need to go I suppose. Though eventually you are going to have to tell me how you got up here."

She revved the engine and sped over, doing a small circle around him before stopping and holding down the clutch. "You sure?" Ciera questioned, revving the engine once more.

Only where you need to go I suppose. So, they were going to the TARDIS? In that case, they should probably get moving before someone comes... Though eventually you are going to have to tell me how you got up here. Once again, they ha to go to the TARDIS. That's it. They had to go to the TARDIS.

"Well, in that case, I guess I could do with a ride..." he said, not making eye contact.

Ciera smiled mischievously, and tossed him an extra helmet. "Well, then hop on." Ciera said as she revved the engine again.

She waited until he had put on the helmet and gotten on the bike before saying, "So. Where are we going?" She looked back at him and noticed he seemed a bit uncomfortable. "First time on a bike?"

The Doctor caught the helmet and put it on, looking at the bike. He had never been on one before. Maybe this was a chance for things to change? Maybe he'd like them? Or maybe not. Still, it was better than walking. Sighing, he got on the back of the bike and took in a deep breath.

"Just follow the path. I- umm- parked a few metres beyond the bend," he explained. Ciera realized that he was nervous, so it was time to admit. "Yes, first time on a bike. I usually just take a taxi or something," he explained.

Ciera gave a laugh before saying, "You're gonna love it. Don't be nervous." She glanced at him one last time before releasing the clutch and speeding off.

She went slowly at first, making he didn't jump off or something. That had happened before. She sped up and flew down the dirt road, rounding the bend he had referred to and skidding to a stop. "Is that it?" She asked sceptically as she spotted a large police box.

He liked how she was encouraging him. Yes, that sounds strange, but it was true. It's always nice when someone tells you there's nothing to be afraid off, because it comforts you. This is kinda the same when someones tells you to not be nervous, because, once again, it comforts you.

To be fair, the bike ride wasn't too bad. Or, at least, not as bad as the Doctor originally thought. To be honest, it was abit like traveling in the TARDIS, so there wasn't really much of a difference for him.

When a blue police box came into view, and Ciera asked if that was it, the Doctor smiled and said, "Yes, that's it." Now, she probably though he was crazy. Everyone thought he was crazy. He was crazy, but that's not the point.

Ciera looked back and raised and eyebrow at him. "You're kidding." She looked at him incredulously. "How did you get that up here?" She paused before saying, "No, better yet, how are you using it to get down? What are you gonna do, call a taxi? I don't think this is within their range." She stated.

She kicked down the kickstand and got off, walking up to it and rubbing a hand against the wood. "Who makes phone boxes out of wood anymore? This thing is an antique! I'm not even sure you could use it to call a taxi." She said as she looked at it.
