Doctor Who
"I could be so much more! So much more! But this is what I get. My reward."
Welcome to the Doctor Who search. Couple things right off the bat: this will be with an "OC" (future) Doctor, and an OC (future) Master. My Doctor will be male, I do not enjoy playing a female Doctor. These will be parallel stories that will eventually combine, of the Doctor and the Master, and their companions, post "End of Time", and ignoring Missy.
Why are we ignoring Missy?
Because we're ignoring everything with Clara - not because the character herself is bad. I mostly dislike how Moffatt used her to rewrite the Doctor's history and other shenanigans. So 12th never existed. Missy never existed. So if you're attached to those things, or the plots involving Clara, I am not the RPer for you. If you must RP across from 10th Doctor, I'm not the RPer for you.
Yes, I do have ideas for how the Doctor regenerated (River Song gave him more lives when she spent all of hers saving him). I plan to be playing the "12th" Doctor, who will be a ginger at last.
With that stuff aside, I have a couple of plot ideas here, so let's dig in!
Also, when you're making a Master character, please be prepared to answer these questions:
1. Are the drums present? If they aren't, how are they absent?
2. How did the Master escape from Gallifrey?
3. How is the Master traveling? Or is the Master looking for a way to travel?
4. The Master's goals?
5. And be prepared to discuss the companion - I have a few ideas, but since the Master sort of picks who comes with, we'll want to discuss it and make sure it seems like they'll get on well enough, or that there's a reason for the Companion to be there.
So please, take a look at what I have to offer! Also, please read my rules, there is a code in there! This isn't to trick anyone, I just want to make sure we'll be compatible.
1. Don't God-Mod. In other words, don't make my character speak, don't make my character, don't make my character take damage, and don't control my character. If you want something to go a certain way for plot purposes, just PM me and ask. Usually, I accept "god-modding" during travel and the like. It is usually acceptable to assume movement if a character is already committed to the journey.
2. Please be able to play both genders, and play multiple roles. Your main character(s) may be just male or just female, but I expect all the side characters and NPCs to have life and flavor, too.
3. On the note of characters: I will always play one female character. So, be aware of that. With that said, I usually also always play one male character, and I do MxM, MxF, and FxF pairings, though I prefer MxF.
4. I only RP on threads, (or GDocs in rare cases), so no PM, kik, discord, e-mail, or other rps with me. So that I know you’ve read the rules this far, please tell me about your favorite food!
5. Please be able to write more than a couple of sentences as responses to me. I have tried to do “simple” RPs, but I end up not feeling motivated to respond or continue the RP. I will need you to be able to write a paragraph or two, each post, at least.
6. PM if you are interested. The only reason for you not to PM me is if you cannot do so due to the fact you haven't reached 24 hours/10 posts.
Guidelines:
1. I do not like to be hassled for posts. Especially if I have already posted that day or the day before. Do not bother me for posts until at least two days have passed. Otherwise, I will start to resent our RP and lose interest in it.
2. I enjoy OOC talk, however I will not respond to "hi" or "-poke-" or equivalents. Have substance to the chatter, even if it just asking "How are you?".
3. Do not bump our thread if I have not posted. I will not post out of spite. I have a problem with this, I acknowledge it, I'm not fixing it.
4. On that matter, please keep OOC to PMs and not on our IC thread. IC is for posting. If you have a question, concern, or comment, just shoot me a PM.
5. In general, I do not enjoy immediate romances or "slice-of-life" RPs, so do not come to me expecting I'll do either. I may make rare exceptions.
This would go with the idea that others, besides Rassilon, were looking for ways out of the Time War/Time Lock, and were a bit more successful. This works particularly well if the Master escaped from Gallifrey after being dragged back in, as then the Time Lords and Ladies could have decided to try harder to find a way back. This would cause problems as the creature of the Time War (the Nightmare Child and the rest) would also follow (because it is more fun if they aren't destroyed).
So the Doctor and Master would have to deal with these throughout their adventures. The Master could have reasons of his own for engaging in this situation, either for revenge against Rassilon or to find a way to get the drums out of his head (or both) since those things are likely on Gallifrey.
This story arc would likely culminate in Gallifrey's complete return to the Universe, and no doubt, the major villains would be a mix of the Daleks and the Time Lords themselves. This one can still play with the other plot (with one as first story and the other as second).
The Xhinn were a race of psions from the books who believed that they came from another universe. They were cast out of it like the demons were cast out of heaven. They became a race of conquerors in this universe, and took over planet after planet, stripping them of resources and enslaving their people.
I was thinking we could use them as enemies who locate the Rift on Earth (Cardiff) and decide to try and use that as a way to open the pathway back to their home universe--which, of course, we'd foreshadow towards in the adventures leading up to that, the way Saxon was foreshadowed and Bad Wolf. The Doctor has obvious reasons for getting involved, but the Master might be interested in it for his own reasons.
I'd also be willing to use the Great Vampires in this, and assume that they didn't all become extinct if you'd prefer to go that route. Then we have enemies that have a personal vendetta against the Doctor and Rassilon.
