Advice/Help Do you save your roleplay?

Hello

İ wonder if people save their roleplay discussions and if they do İ wonder how they do it. İf they don't İ wonder why they don't do it. Can someone tell me?

What do you mean "save" your roleplay discussions? In fact, by roleplay discussions do you mean the roleplay itself, or the OOC discussion about the roleplay?

The roleplay itself, not the ooc. What İ mean is do you save them, like, lets say in a document for backup or do you just play the rp without saving anything and also why. >.<

Oh I see. I mean, one of the reasons I prefer threads is because I easily can access them that way and they are easy to read back through if I want to. The only way I would loose those if the site itself shut down permanently or it got hacked and reset or something of that nature. Unlikely catastrophic possibilities.

The only reason why I would think of saving in the manner you describe would be saving posts while I am still working on them, but again the site already does that automatically at least for threads, save a few errors here and there which just never managed to convince me to go through the trouble of using a separate document for each post, especially not when one BBCodes as much as I do.

İ see Thank you for your answer. İ have this bad habit that İ want to save everything and it makes me feel chaotic. So İ was wondering about what other people do about it. i also use lots of BBcodes so I was getting frustrated xD

I do I have google docs logs where I save my roleplays in real time (adding each new post as it comes).

This is because I do 1x1 with people who don’t use threads. So it’s easier to keep them on google docs for replies.

Plus it gives me an easy to access writing sample if anyone ever asks.

I like to use Google docs, it's easier for me to create the post without the distraction/temptation of rpn or other sites when I'm typing lol. Plus the word processing is great and I end up having a full log of the role-play for funsies.

If I really am enjoying and love the roleplay yes I do. I use Google Keep to make a section for that particular roleplay to keep everything in order.

İ see! İ think İ will use doc too ! After reading the comments here hehe. Thank you for your answer! İ really appreciate it!

I usually save them in google docs, especially when I know the rp lasts more than two posts or if I'm enjoying it very much from the start. But I usually start doing it after the rp lasts for some time. Also, if the rp has longer replies, I often write them on google docs, because it's convenient and I can access them from anywhere, they also save automatically.

And at least once this habit saved the entire rp when my rp partner accidentally deleted our rp and thought that all was lost. But it wasn't lost because I had a google docs copy ^^ And we could continue from where we left off!

Sure do!
I adore rereading a great tale and its quite nice to see how the characters and writing style have evolved over time.

It depends for me!

If I am in love with the roleplay, even if it ended up having to be dropped, I either bookmark it or I save it to the "archived roleplays" folder I have in my convos. I have quite a few there that I love to read from time to time. I just can't bear to pass with them, and often times they're the kind that if my partner agreed to get it started again, I would jump to get some new characters to work in the universe again. So I guess you can say I am a little too in love with some of the stories I have helped make on here, haha

I don't really save mine simply for the factor that I don't like re-reading a Roleplay that was cut short, or unfinished.
It just leaves an empty hole in me, especially those who just ghost, and I'm sitting there reflecting on something I was excited about but could never complete.

It's like a novel or TV show you really loved ending prematurely and thinking about it just feels disheartening.

I hate it.
So I just don't save them because it happens too often and I never had a decent roleplay where it lasted long enough for the memories to feel lasting and fulfilling to want to return to it. Let alone save and read it again on my spare time.

Perhaps in the future... When I come across such a Roleplay that has a longevity of more than a few sparing days within a month.

Interesting idea. Though I never really had the habit of saving my roleplays, I do think it's a great idea. In fact, I think I might begin to save some RPs I'm really enjoying now. Thanks for the idea!

I had never considered it. I hardly ever use google docs, so the thought never dawned on me. I use a onenote system for notes, sure, but to save an entire rp? I might have to do that.

HAHAHAHA, do I want to puke?? Fuck no, I don't save most of the shit I write.

Though there's an occasional gem that I do screenshot and save on drive.

I sometimes do a clean doc and other times I just do a messy doc that is a straight copy/paste transcript of my RPs.

I like the clean doc when I'm actively doing the RP and keeping track properly post my post . . . but sometimes I messy doc because I'm in an IM and I am to lazy to copy past that many posts! >D
Oh my thank you for the reference! And İ agree, İ also get lazy when İ make it look pretty so İ go back and forth between them haha. Thank you for the reference! Hehe

I use wattpad to publish some of my rp stories from here or the fiction section
