"When the devil wants to get something out of you, he doesn't lie at all. He tells you the exact, literal truth. And he lets you find your own way to hell."
Welcome to my list for all things dealing with divinities - generally speaking, it's mostly stuff dealing with Christianity, angels, and demons, but I'm not opposed to other options and you'll find some ideas about "abstracts" that could be akin to deities like Agni, Ares, or Thor. If you're wanting to play with divinities or their servants, this is the area to look!
Just a note - when I say "demon", 99% of the time I mean an angel that has fallen from grace. Okay, now that we've got that cleared up....
1. Don't God-Mod. In other words, don't make my character speak, don't make my character, don't make my character take damage, and don't control my character. If you want something to go a certain way for plot purposes, just PM me and ask. Usually, I accept "god-modding" during travel and the like. It is usually acceptable to assume movement if a character is already committed to the journey.
2. Please be able to play both genders, and play multiple roles. Your main character(s) may be just male or just female, but I expect all the side characters and NPCs to have life and flavor, too.
3. On the note of characters: I will always play one female character. So, be aware of that. With that said, I usually also always play one male character, and I do MxM, MxF, and FxF pairings, though I prefer MxF.
4. I only RP on threads, so no PM rps with me. So that I know you’ve read the rules this far, please tell me about your favorite food!
5. Please be able to write more than a couple of sentences as responses to me. I have tried to do “simple” RPs, but I end up not feeling motivated to respond or continue the RP. I will need you to be able to write a paragraph or two, each post, at least.
6. PM if you are interested. The only reason for you not to PM me is if you cannot do so due to the fact you haven't reached 24 hours/10 posts.
Guidelines:
1. I do not like to be hassled for posts. Especially if I have already posted that day or the day before. Do not bother me for posts until at least two days have passed. Otherwise, I will start to resent our RP and lose interest in it.
2. I enjoy OOC talk, however I will not respond to "hi" or "-poke-" or equivalents. Have substance to the chatter, even if it just asking "How are you?".
3. Do not bump our thread if I have not posted. I will not post out of spite. I have a problem with this, I acknowledge it, I'm not fixing it.
4. On that matter, please keep OOC to PMs and not on our IC thread. IC is for posting. If you have a question, concern, or comment, just shoot me a PM.
5. In general, I do not enjoy immediate romances or "slice-of-life" RPs, so do not come to me expecting I'll do either. I may make rare exceptions.
All Just and All Merciful. Lucifer's second chance.
Lucifer, male or female (I like playing Luci, if you can't guess by my name), has been offered a second chance at redemption. To reconcile the fact that God is All-Just yet also All-Forgiving, and maybe the fact that, well, Lucifer wasn't given all the rules that were humans were given, God is offering Lucifer a chance to redeem themselves. The catch? There's always a catch, right? This is where the details can be altered a bit.
1. Lucifer has to protect and assist a prophet of the Lord. Considering how many prophets end up being drunkards or otherwise oddly unqualified people, this could be problematic.
2. Lucifer has to serve as a guardian angel in general for some mortal. There's no way this can go wrong.
3. Lucifer has to live out a good human life, and will then be restored to glory - fully aware, and with full access to the angelic powers Lucifer always has. No temptation here at all.
4. There is some other question that Lucifer may have to undertake, which we can hash out.
5. ??? I'm up for your ideas as to how Lucifer could be redeemed.
During all of this, of course there's going to be another that tries to take Lucifer's place as the leader of Hell. There are going to be plenty of challenges and temptations to just go back to the old way. Will it end up being worth it to Lucifer, or will Lucifer fall once more?
Demons, angels, and humans, oh my!
Someone has found a way to start the apocalypse through releasing the Four Horsemen early. These four entities are now roaming Earth as if it is theirs, and destroying it, which has set off a panic in Heaven and Hell. Angels are surprised this could happen. Demons are concerned about anyone having this kind of power. And humanity? Well, humanity’s screwed if things don’t get fixed.
Unlikely alliances will be made as everyone pulls together to put off the Apocalypse. Angels align with their former brothers and sisters to try and bring peace to this world, and humans end up joining the cause as well. The Horsemen seem incapable of not harming them--even Michael--though they know that God's will would never want Michael harmed.
So who has this power, and more importantly--what else are they capable of?
This does not need to be in modern times, I could see it taking place in Medieval times, on up. We’ll need to establish the villain of this thread through PMs, and split up the Horsemen as roles we play, besides our heroes.
Heaven and Hell. Power is power.
Did I mention I like Lucifer? This is an idea that, rather than being given a second chance, Lucifer escapes Hell of their own volition and goes topside on Earth to seek the power and influence to overthrow God. I could see utilizing the other Fruit of Eden as an item that Lucifer is seeking, or perhaps just a way into Heaven - it can be discussed - but no matter I want most of the action to stay on Earth and involve some hapless humans and angels, and perhaps a few demons. I think it would be interesting if Lucifer got side-tracked and decided to just take over Earth first, instead.
That, or we have the Apocalypse or something like it occuring, but not a "Horseman" type deal, some other sort of apocalypse, and Lucifer is on the side opposing the end of the world, and we play out those strange alliances and meetings. I keep imagining Lucifer meeting angels for coffee and it's way too chill, but also amuses me.
In a world after war, the Antichrist rules over all. Everyone under their rule is marked, and those who do not get marked are killed. Yet, outliers still remain. Humanity prospers under the Antichrist, though. All needs are taken care of. Those who serve well are raised up. Food is free, healthcare is free, all the basics are free—it is the luxuries that aren’t, and so many do serve in an effort to obtain those luxuries.
The Antichrist remains ever vigilant, looking for the Christ, and others. Already, it has noticed that the Apostles are returning…some are even in their hands, serving them, already. Others have yet to be found.
This Roleplay will have many roles—the Apostles, the Christ, and the Antichrist, in particular. All of these will have unique abilities, a carry-over from their previous life. We’ll need to divide up the roles, one of us will need to be the ‘Christ’ and the other the ‘Antichrist’, and then we’ll divide up the Apostles. I am laying claim to Judas now.
Okay, not quite a rip-off, but why not play with the standard story of someone either goes down to hell to get someone back, or someone tries to escape hell? I don't have an actual plot for this, or a story, but I'm sure this could easily be expanded upon with characters and motives from just about any time. We can use Dante's Inferno to help set up hell, as well.
