Divine Attention

Dereis

Hit Me!
How much attention can/do the Incarna pay to the affairs of Creation?  What would it take to draw their attention away from the Games of Divinity?  We assume that the Incarna initally planned thier surprise attack of the Primordials while the Prims were busy playing the Games... Could it happen to the Incarna?  Are they wiser than their predecessors in recognizing and attending to threats, even if they only threaten their possesion of the Games?  I would like to get some feedback on this - what it would take to distract them, even for a short time?

Also, the appropriate Incarna is supposed to appear at the time of an Exaltation and impart some sense of purpose...  Is this just a phantom image, or does the Incarna manifest shortly in Creation?

None of the questions you have asked have definitive answers in print, so it's really up to the individual ST to decide.

800 years ago, the entirety of Creation came within a hair's breadth of being completely wiped out, and we have no indication that the Incarna did anything to stop it. I'd assume from this that it would take a LOT to get them to pay close attention again.

Well, this isn't entirely true.  Out of all the Exalted (Abyssals accepted), only the Lunars actually witness Luna her/himself and the big ol' US only says a few words to the Zeniths in any case.

So, with this in mind, I've always felt that Luna does actually manifest in Ceation, at least part of her does, maybe in between turns or something.

I can't recall but is Luna as powerful as the five Maidens and the US?  If she isn't, then maybe the Games don't affect her as much as the rest of the Incarna because of being a 'weaker' spirit.

Just a thought really.

I think Luna is almost the US's equal; in any case, I recall a mention of the Games of Divinity in the Sidereals book that says sometimes Luna's winning and the roof of the Jade Pleasure Dome shows moon images and shit.

because I felt it fitting...

NICE.

I like how the Unconquered Sun is kind of a father-knows-best, leave-me-alone-while-I'm-watching-the-game laissez-faire jerkoff.

I've noted with interest that the games of divinity aren't said to have turns as frequently as it is said to have moves

My personal theory is that this is indication that the games of divinity are dance dance revolution.

i am confused is luna a dude or a chick? and what the hell is it? i heard it was like a fairfolk, or that it shared similarities with them.

Luna is the ultimate trickster, capable of being whatever it wants, but normally, Luna is considered a goddess.

There are some strong hints that Luna is some kind of super-powerful Raksha. That being the case, it's essentially genderless, and just wears various appearances for its own amusement.

... meaning she's more of a Primordial than a god technically I suppose.
Huh?

Did I miss something?

To my mind, you have to be, like, as big as a world & have a bunch of component souls to qualify as a Primordial.

Well, she is as big as a small world. She's the moon. Duh.

The component souls, though... well, perhaps she doesn't actually shapeshift so much as it seems. Maybe all those incarnations who visit Lunars are component souls of hers. Maybe that's why she has so much time for her Exalts.

... well the way I see it (and you are all welcome to a different opinion of course), the Primordials are glorified Fair Folk with a wee bit different agenda than most of them.

According to the latest update on Second Edition at WW, Luna is roughly as powerful as the Five Maidens, though whether that's individually or as a whole is not noted, and less powerful than the Unconquered Sun.
