): Elizabeth is someone that Jim is a bit curious about, and who he will eventually come to like and respect. He doesn't really like to show this all that much though, and prefers to hide it behind an uncaring and casual exterior, but he does actually really enjoy hanging around her and having conversations together. He respects Elizabeth's sense of independence, and is often secretly fascinated by the big and elaborate words she uses at times, curiously asking what they mean and then keeping them in mind to possibly use later in order to try to confuse others. Jim occasionally might act a bit annoyed by the way Elizabeth sometimes acts like his mother in some ways, but deep down he actually appreciates this and even subtly cherishes it, since it's kind of nice to have that kind of reassuring presence at such a lonely, confusing, and intindating time in his life.
Scar / Cade Barnett (

): Jim is fascinated by Cade and his way of living. He knows that the way the other one lives and acts is considered wrong or looked down upon by others, but something in Jim causes him to admire that, in a way. Due to Jim's own tendency to rebel against and ignore social courtesy and standards, he looks up to Cade to a certain degree and often hangs around him quite a bit, even if it is to the other one's annoyance at first. The reason for him doing this is partly because of him admiring Cade's surface 'coolness', but the deeper reason behind it is that he envies Cade's confidence and certainty in the way he acts, and lack of any shame or guilt with what he does, even if his actions are morally questionable. As wrong as it is, a small part of Jim wishes he could have that same level of personal unrestraint, and freedom from all of his guilt and shame. As a result of his admiration, Jim unwittingly became a bit of a follower of Cade's, and often sticks close to the other one once his presence and attention is a bit more accepted. He isn't exactly subservient and worshipping, and rather tries to act as tough and apathetic as he can be whenever around Cade in an attempt to earn approval, only to usually fail pretty miserably. Despite this, there is a certain softness and vulnerability that he shows at times when hanging around the other one, which comes from his deeper longing to try to forget and not care about all that troubles him, and to be accepted as well.
Robin Hood / Robert Grant (

): Robert is someone else that Jim also respects and admires, but this time for slightly more positive and healthy reasons. He is fascinated and intrigued by the fact that not only does Robert have full memories of another life beyond the world they are in, but he is also fully aware of how they don't belong, and instead came from somewhere different. It is rather reassuring for Jim to know that at least someone is sure of that, and it's also fascinating for him to know someone who has complete memories of whole other world. He also admires Robert's kindness and selflessness, and sees the other one as better than he could ever be. Jim usually finds himself feeling more relaxed than he usually is whenever hanging around Robert, so he usually acts more friendly and companionable with him. He follows Robert around sometimes a bit like with Cade, but he doesn't do it quite as often and is more respectful about personal boundaries and being polite about it. Sometimes, whenever there's a quiet moment, Jim might ask Robert about stories of his old home and the adventures he had there, eagerly listening to every word of them. During such times Jim opens up a lot more, touched by the fact that Robert would care enough to share those stories at all with him, and really appreciating it. Overall Jim really enjoys keeping Robert company when he can, listening to his stories, or even asking his advice on things every now and then.
