The Duck Overlord
Akari KaedeTo say Akari was panicking was an understatement. She was freaking. Out. At first, she’d thought that her friends were all catching some virus—it was a reasonable explanation, after all, considering how much time they spent together. But then Izzy hadn’t come back after a few days. Neither had Sora, or Joe, or Mimi, or Matt.
Where were they?
At least Tai hadn’t disappeared. That was probably the only thing keeping her sane right now. If she had been left all alone, she would probably have had more full-blown panic attacks than she’d already had. She’d started her adventures with the DigiDestined alone—there was no way she was going back to that.
When Akari got to school this morning, the first thing she’d done was look for Tai. Just because he hadn’t disappeared yet didn’t mean he wouldn’t. Her heart pounded faster and faster the longer it took her find him. Finally, she turned a corner and saw him, gravity-defying hair and all. Akari slumped against the wall, letting out a huge sigh of relief.
It took all her willpower not to run up to him like a little girl running to her mommy. Grabbing his sleeve in her hand, she said, “Thank goodness you’re okay! Not knowing what’s happened to the others is killing me. I just can’t believe they up and disa—“ She broke off when she saw the expression on Tai’s face. “Tai? What’s wrong?”
Then she realized.
“Oh no. It’s Kari, isn’t it?”Coding by AnimeGenork
Takeru "T.K." TakaishiEven though he was in junior high, T.K. still managed to keep up to date thanks to Matt and Akari. As soon as the emails stopped coming from his brother, though, he knew something had happened to him. Naturally, he was worried, but he knew his brother would be fine. And if he was with the others, then he was sure to be fine. No matter where the Chosen Children went, they always managed to make it, so long as they had each other.
He didn’t want to think about a scenario where Matt was alone. Again.
T.K. was keeping a straight face through it all. His straight face completely vanished, however, when he was suddenly dragged into some portal that had appeared out of literally nowhere.
He wasn’t quite sure what happened after that.

When he opened his eyes, T.K. knew for a fact he wasn’t on Earth anymore. He also knew that he wasn’t in the Digital World. The DigiWorld was welcoming. Friendly, even. Even when there was someone trying to take it over, there was something undeniably warm about the Digital World.
This world was not that.
The only clue to where he was lay in his beeping Digivice, but that may have just been due to interference this world was giving off. Was it digital, like the Digital World? Or… was it a completely separate dimension altogether? Ack, too much thinking. This was giving him a headache.
He had to see if he could find anyone. Maybe this was where all the others had gone. At least, he hoped so. If it wasn’t, then he was in trouble.
Standing up and brushing himself off, T.K. started walking, his Digivice in hand. Seriously, where was he? And why wasn’t there anything here?
Then he saw something—or, rather, someone—familiar. “Kari! Is that you? Do you have any idea where we are?”Coding by AnimeGenork
