Idea
The Pun Tyrant
The SettingA long time ago, the world was a barren garden. The maker looked upon it filled with sadness, and made his heart into a seed, the very crystalization of his will. He planted it deep into the soil, where even without ever sprouting, its shining warm light burned past the corruption in the soil and gave life to the creator's dreams. Thus the world, and humanity, were born.
Throughout history many wishes were granted by the Wishing Seed, but rarely did it answer: A chosen few were more connected to it, but even their magic or miracles were often little to speak of. As humanity entered the digital age, humanity pinned some of its hopes upon this new frontier as it had done with many before. In an era of dwindling hope, this guided the light of the Wishing Seed, joining together many of its flimsy rays to create an entirely new world, what would come to be known as the Digital World.
The border between the two was a curtain hiding a realized perfection, and it was a matter of time before the digital world breached into the real world. The small escalating incidents which eventually resulted in the first large-scale attack were dubbed the "Digital Invasion" by authorities, and was fended off by a group of children alongside digimon partners, and by a hair's breath. The threat was far from over. Fortunately for humanity, the conflict ignited the Wishing Seed, bringing forth its power to an unprecendented extent and allowing the emergence of the heroes who could borrow some of its power to accomplish the feat of the digital world: Transforming programs into real things, and thus giving humanity the means to fight back against further digimon invasions.
Decades passed, but heroes continue to be trained and patrol in case of another Digital Invasion...
About Magic: Yes, this setting has it, and has always had it even before any digimon came in. However, before the digital invasion the Wishing Seed was practically dormant. Magic here is dependent on the strength of the wish and the wisher's own skill with magic, plus the power of magic grows exponentially not linearly in difficulty - all factors which combined to make the level such that dedicated mages hardly able to lit candles on a consistent basis. While the Wishing Seed exited its dormant state after the invasion much of its power is still keeping the digital world going, and it has a will with which it still selects who among humanity is worthy of what kind of power or wishes, such as is the case with the heroes.
Route AYour character is one of the many heroes blessed by the Wishing Seed's power. While heroes often have thematic powersets, they tend to almost exclusively follow a certain standard of "enhanced physical abilities, some form of attack, can properly fight digimon". Whether they are a new hero or a veteran though, they have been chosen to attempt something which may change the tide: A new program to merge their hero form with a digimon, giving them not only a great potential variety, but the power to stand against even greater digimon at that. The timing is now, since as it happens, a digimon volunteer has just appeared to cooperate with humanity, my own character.
The differences between heroes are more akin to one throwing a big fire lance and another creating a localized tsunami, not something like one hero goes invisible, while another is telekinetic and another can fuse with technology. With very few exceptions their powers are very much standardized.Route BNot everyone is happy with the stalemate humanity has against the digimon threat. Many wish to be able to bring humanity back some semblance of peace of mind, and that will not happen while the looming threat of a digital invasion clouds humanity's future. Scouting missions to the digital world have been planned, but never gone through due to the risks, but it looks as though one might finally be ready as a volunteer digimon appeared (my character) who may assist in beginning the first diplomatic ties between the two worlds. Your character was chosen as the human representative. Were they a hero, with many deeds to their name? Were they a genius prodigy trusted to be able to figure their way through a bizarre world of uncertain rules? Or were they simply a normal person with a heart of gold, chosen by the Wishing Seed for their purity and potential?
Route CYour character is one of the many students who was accepted into a new high-tech and strangely affordable school sponsored by their local government. Several of these boarding schools have been created around the world, and though on the surface it doesn't seem like more than a sophisticated series of public school construction, there are many shady things around them: Information about what goes on inside them is highly limited, lessons don't follow standard curriculums, and these institutions went out of their way to try to recruit certain students, as opposed to simply receiving and approving applications.
It is only a few days after being there that your character discovers the truth, when they and my character become human and digimon partners respectively. This school was made by remembering how the previous human-digimon partnerships were created and blessed by the Wishing Seed, and thus seeking to create new such bonds that could protect humanity, these schools were search for the children who had the potential to become the partners of digimon, and your character is this school's first success.
This is one is the simplest plot here, and the one that -by my intentions at least- most closely follows what one would think of as a typical digimon plot.It can also be, but isn't necessarily, a plot more focused on slice of life stuff than the others.Route DWhen your character woke up in the digital world, they were lost and alone. They had no idea how they got there, let alone where they even were, and in fact their memory of the last few days was gone entirely. To make matters worse or at least more confusing, the world around here has some odd elements to it, of which fruits of seemingly random flavors, and seemingly impossible creatures were the least. While exploring, they encountered one such creature, injured and took care of it for a night - or perhaps instead they were saved by said creature, who took pity upon your character for their situation. Either way this creature, my character, declared they would protect yours after this event, and that they would help your character escape the digital world.
As you may be able to tell, the mystery element of this plot is an important part of it. This means something happened to your character which I wouldn't tell you for a while. That said if you really insist I will tell you in advance.
About MeHey hey! Name's Idea, but feel free to call me what you'd like, I like nicknames. Thank you for visiting my interest check! Let me tell you a bit about myself before we go futher...
> I am a 22 year old guy from Portugal.
>I am a 1st person thread-only detailed roleplayer (some would call me a novella roleplayer). I won't ask that you use 1st person as well, but I will.
>My favorite genres include comedy (1st), fantasy, mystery, dice, game/vrmmorpg and some anime-esque ones like isekai and magical girl. I also like a number of other genres such as slice of life and scifi, and the ones I try to stay away from are historical, horror and the punks.
>Tone-wise I lean more towards the lighthearted/comedic type than the dark and gritty, though like anyone else I employ a mixture of the two.
> I love worldbuilding and planning.
> My main hobbies are roleplaying, youtube, playing trading card games and some video games, and consuming industrial amounts of anime and manga.
RequirementsWhat kind of rules will this RP have?
>There will be a 500 word minimum on posts (or 12 full PC lines), though I will not demand a specific time to deliver those posts. I don't care if you need a month - take the time you need, as long as I get those long juicy, quality posts (well, this is a bit lower than what I usually ask for, but eh).
>Naturally, as this is a digimon roleplay we will be using anime faceclaims, and knowledge of the series is at least highly recommended, though not strictly speaking mandatory in this case.
> I expect that I will not be running everything outside of our characters alone, so I'd like to work with people who can run multiple NPCs as well.
What kind of partner am I looking for?
> To quote from my previous interest check: "The kind of partner I want to work with is one that friendly and passionate first and foremost. I want to be able to get along with my partners and in turn I would like them to want to get along with me as well, to be friends even if we can. As for passion, there's no point in a roleplay if my partner isn't seriously invested in the thing we're working on. This doesn't mean you have to take it super seriously or anything, but I want my partners to actually care about our RP, to be curious about new developments or info, to bring up their own ideas, to get excited about our work together as I want to be. If you aren't invested well, it's probably not the best for you either.
Lastly I am looking for someone who can be patient. I prefer slower paced RPs (as in, slower paced post-frequency-wise, not necessarily within the plot) so I'm not a good fit for people who can't accept waiting. A sense of humor is also part of patience in my eyes, and I'm definitely someone who loves laughing along with someone, instead of saying something that sparks an argument because they interpreted it as something I neither said nor meant. I want make friends with my partners, and I want a roleplay that will make us both happy. That's all there is to it."
> It would also be nice to have a partner that is into planning things out like I am, though this is more of a bonus than a requirement.
LimitsThere are some things which I just can't go along with:
> Turning our RP into a porno
> Being overly vague
> Injecting politics where its not called for.
I also usually have a limit about religious elements that we do not agree on, but this is a digimon roleplay so that might be a bit too much to ask, but I'm mentioning it here just so it can be kept in mind.

And with that, I am out. If you're interested or have any questions, feel free to PM me or post below. Regarding OOC conversation, I am partial to discord, though I will not reject talking through PMs or even an OOC thread.
I also had half a mind to make a group digimon RP in this setting. Even if you are not interested in the 1x1 plots, I would be happy to know if anyone who sees this would be interested in that!
Thank you for reading, and have a great day or night!
