Quick and Dirty, this is a Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry Inspired search thread. I have only played Devil May Cry 1-3. I have seen the anime, and I read the two manga (I wish they'd make more). I haven't played DMC 4 or 5...I know of Nero, and V, and a bit about the stories, but not enough to play there.
I'm writing this because I got hyped for a DMC RP I wrote a couple starters for, but looks to be slow-going and/or ghosted, so now I have all this Hype for it, and nowhere to put it. Details below, if you like the details, read my rules to see if we mesh.
Devil May Cry
So, I'm looking for OCxCanon in this. I heavily prefer RPing across Vergil, but this isn't hard and fast -- I like Dante, too, and as someone who's cosplayed Vergil, I do love portraying him, I just need a good story to play him in, and a great OC to play across him.
Generally speaking, I'm looking to write the story at either these two points:
1. Pre-Temen-Ni-Gru, but not by much. The search to unseal Temen-ni-gru, unlocking the 7 Sins that sealed it, and the dive into demon lore, on Vergil's side, while Dante's business is just getting up and running and he has to deal with clientele, demons, and the true horror - BILLS.
I would love to explore Vergil's journey to learning how to unlock Temen-ni-gru, as well as Dante's story of picking up his life as a mercenary of all things, and both of them dealing with their very different paths. This story could differ from the DMC 3 Game and have a different ending, but most likely it would flow into DMC 3 and beyond.
2. Post Temen-ni-gru, Vergil's in hell going after Mundus, and Dante doesn't give up on his brother this time. Vergil would need a helping hand in hell, and he could learn the history of how Sparda fucked it all up by sealing it up, while Dante tries to find ways to open up a path to hell to save his brother. So, obvious, this goes off the rails of canon.
Devil May Cry: Inspired
Basically, using the concepts of two siblings who were separated young, and took very different paths. One tried to fit in with humanity and protect them, the other has forsaken it, and has stricken out to open the way to Hell out of anger, and a sense they might belong there – that is their other half, after all, and they can’t embrace it while humanity despises it. So, yes, two hybrids (possibly a bit different if they have one parent in common and the other different), and two very different paths. I favor the more "Vergil" one in this story, the one striking out against humanity.
How we make the world, what the hybrids are, what could be in Hell/other plane, are all things we can talk about and decide as we build the world up. I just honestly love stories were two loved ones go down very different paths, the conflict is absolutely delicious.
We'd of course, also play their associates and partners, so I'd play a character on the "Dante" side, and I'd be looking for a partner on the "Vergil" side, as the stories would likely be separated for a bit.

1. Don't God-Mod. In other words, don't make my character speak, don't make my character take damage, and don't control my character. If you want something to go a certain way for plot purposes, just PM me and ask. Usually, I accept "god-modding" during travel and the like. It is usually acceptable to assume movement if a character is already committed to the journey.
2. Please be able to play all genders, and play multiple roles. Your main character(s) may be just male or just female, but I expect all the side characters and NPCs to have life and flavor, too.
3. I always double regardless of pairings involved, so you are also expected to double.
4. On the note of characters: I will always play one female character. So, be aware of that. I'm open to all pairing types, I have a preference for MxF and F//, but the others aren't off the table.
5. I only RP on threads, (or GDocs in rare cases; you’ll have to convince me because I hate cluttering it up), so no PM, kik, discord, e-mail, or other rps with me. So that I know you’ve read the rules this far, please tell me something interesting you’ve read/watched recently!
6. Please be able to write more than a couple of sentences as responses to me. I have tried to do “simple” RPs, but I end up not feeling motivated to respond or continue the RP. I will need you to be able to write a paragraph or two, each post, at least.
7. PM if you are interested. The only reason for you not to PM me is if you cannot do so due to the fact you haven't reached 24 hours/10 posts.
Guidelines:
1. I do not like to be hassled for posts. Especially if I have already posted that day or the day before. Do not bother me for posts until at least two days have passed. Otherwise, I will start to resent our RP and lose interest in it.
2. I enjoy OOC talk, however I will not respond to "hi" or "-poke-" or equivalents. Have substance to the chatter, even if it just asking "How are you?".
3. Do not bump our thread, or do anything OOC in the IC thread. I will not post out of spite. I have a problem with this, I acknowledge it, I'm not fixing it.
4. On that matter, please keep OOC to PMs and not on our IC thread. IC is for posting. If you have a question, concern, or comment, just shoot me a PM.
5. In general, I do not enjoy immediate romances or "slice-of-life" RPs, so do not come to me expecting I'll do either. I do want romance in 9 out of 10 cases, though. I may make rare exceptions.
