What happens when family members kill for power? In this world, magic power is defined by many rules. Chief among them is that potential is divided amongst the blood line. Limiting the potential possible to each individual. The only way to increase that potential is to steal it from someone else within the family line. And to do that, they must also steal the life of that person as well. As such, many families have driven themselves to near extinction in their lust of power. For in this world, power rules over all things.
It is in this chaotic world where our two characters shall dance through a maze of danger, lies, fear, and above all else, destiny. Much shall rest upon their shoulders, but neither want to walk the path set before them.
My character: An only child born to a poor family. Headstrong and charismatic many believe him to be foolish but admirable in his desire to see the world changed from the brutal way it currently exists. Born without magic of any kind, his only lot in life is menial work to survive. But during a trip into the forbidden forest near his village, he discovers something never meant to be found while hiding from monsters. A secret as old as the world itself, hidden in the depths of the earth. By accident or fate, he breaks a seal and unleashes a primal force. This force, the Dragon Fire, bonds to his soul and grants him magic, magic so potent and dangerous most believe it should be locked away again even while it kills him from the inside. Because of a loophole in the rules of magic, many know how to steal this power away for themselves, and will do anything to do so. Will he be able to find a way to harmonize with this power before it kills him, or someone else does?
Your character: You will come from one of the oldest and most powerful mage bloodlines in the entire world. A heir to the First Magi, Merlin himself. Because of this, most expect great things from you, while you just wish for a normal life. Blessed by power and potential, along with the ability to use nearly any type of magic, the weight of the world seems to weigh upon your shoulders every day of your life. Unknown to anyone, your birth was long prophesized and took place on the day magic died (for 12 hours while you were being born). "While the lights of the cosmos dance across the sky, a child will arrive at the end of a celestial event and at the beginning of a hallowed day. At this moment the world will welcome the coming of a Thrice Blessed Child to whom the fate of all shall rest."
Our paths will cross, and your character shall attempt to train mine in the ways of power. Darkness will begin to gain power since the seal has been broken. Ancient evil creatures will once again begin to roam the earth and terrorize the peoples, even as the monster of daylight remain. An unbelievable evil will soon awaken, its thirst for magic, life, and silence know no bounds and if left unchecked could result in the annihilations of all things. Our journey begins....now.
