Destiel

Jay Windse

One Thousand Club
Castiel had recently fallen from being an angel, and was now starting to be accustomed to being a human, though he had a long way to go. Lucky for him, he had both of the Winchesters to help him, especially the elder, Dean. He'd raised him from Perdition and then went through Purgatory with the hunter, and found that he had taken a certain liking to him. He didn't know what yet, but he felt it as he relaxed in the bunker, casting the occasional glance over at the hunter.

(That kind of sucked as far as my posts go..)

Dean was currently sitting in the den. He was on his laptop watching the 3 scrooges. He looked up and found himself alone. Deciding this was a good learning moment, he called for Cas.

"Cas! Come to the den. We need to start you...humanizing...lessons." He made a face at his own choice of words.

He knew he felt something for the former angel, he just didn't want to face that yet. The life of a hunter was always dangerous and people close to him...usually ended up dead....Now that Cas was human...Dean wasn't willing to take that chance.

Castiel got up from doing mostly nothing but staring at the ceiling and thinking. He sighed as he pulled his body into an upright position and made his way to Dean, standing in front of him, loyal as always. His bright blue gaze focused on the hunter and a small smile danced in his lips. He couldn't help it, and tried his best to hide it.

Dean grinned at Cas and patted the couch beside him "Watch this!" He giggled like a girl, looking amazed that 3 men could manage to screw up so spectacularly. He grinned and saw the smile on Cas's lips. Dean's smile grew and he turned the volume on the laptop up a bit. He ruffled his hair and put his arm on the back of the couch, waiting for Cas to sit.

Castiel smiled at Dean's childish behavior, and sat a good six inches away from Dean at first, to give him some space. His gaze traveled to the screen and he watched the motion picture on it.

But soon he felt himself sliding on the couch, and his hip eventually hit Dean's. The angel blushed deeply, attention retracting from the laptop, and shifted so he was no longer touching Dean, murmuring an apology.

Dean smirked at him, instead putting his arm around Cas' shoulders and pulling him close. "You're too skittish Cas. Loosen up, we could convice Sam to go out for burgers later." Dean grinned and shut down the laptop. He turned to Cas.

All that Castiel could notice was just how close the hunter had made him, had wanted him. Dean's arm around his shoulders, their hip as they eventually touched in the slightest from sitting so close. The way Dean turned to him, how that smirk played on his lips.

Castiel took in every detail, and remembered it, looking up at the hunter with blue eyes bright as ever. Though a small blush accented his features, the angel wouldn't have it any other way.

Dean waved his hand in front of Cas' face. "Hello? Earth to Cas." Dean grinned. Even as a human Cas zoned out. Just then Sam walked in and grinned at the two of them sitting so close together.

"Did I interrupt something?" Moose asked.

"Shut your pie-hole Sammy." Dean shot back, growling at Sam's shit-eating grin.

Castiel blinked and glanced up at Sam. "No, of course not." The angel replied, undetecting of the sarcasm. He tilted his head slightly at hearing Dean's growl. Had he missed something?

Sammy just laughed. "Burgers?" He asked, holding up the keys to the Impala.

Dean bounced up and took the keys. "Cas gets shot-gun." He said, turning to smile at the ex-angel.

Sam's mouth dropped open.

Castiel looked at Sam innocently. He knew the Winchester tradition was for Dean to drive and for Sam to sit beside him. He didn't want to break it, but if that's what Dean wanted..

"Come on Cas!" Dean bellowed as he climbed the stairs. Sam just frowned and followed after his brother, whining.

"Shut up Sammy." came the muffled reply.

Castiel followed them, with a fond shake of his head. He did hope he wasn't truthfully hurting Sam's feelings or maybe his ego.

Sam pouted as he climbed into the back of the Impala. Dean slid onto the drivers side and started it up, smiling as his baby purred.

Castiel glanced back at Sam, and suddenly felt guilty. He frowned, looking at Dean, but as soon as he caught the hunter's smile, he couldn't help but let the same grace his lips.

"Cas, you can pick a station if you want." Dean mumbled, cheeks flushing as he looked outside.

Sam smiled secretly to himself.

Castiel glanced at the radio, and for once he knew what the hunter meant without him directly saying so. He just stared at it, not knowing the first thing about how to work it.

Sam leaned forward and told him to turn the dial until he heard something he liked.

Dean started the car and drove out of the bunker's garage, making his way into town.

Castiel looked back at the younger Winchester and nodded, doing as Sam instructed, listening until he stopped on a station playing Kansas.

Obviously he'd gotten his music taste from Dean.

Dean grinned and sang along while Sam frowned. "Of all the music you could've gotten, Dean had to be an influence!" He mumbled.

"It's a classic!" Dean said.

Carry on my Wayward soooon, there'll be peace when you are dooone. Lay your weary head to reest. Don't you cry no more.

Castiel laughed softly, ignoring Sam and watching Dean, and listening to him. He smiled softly as he watched the elder Winchester, studying him with a gentle bright blue gaze.

Dean pulled up outside a non-descript burger joint and killed the engine. He waited for Cas and Sam to join him before walking in.

Castiel followed Dean with a hysterical grin, glancing sideways at Sam. He laughed softly at the elder Winchester.

Dean sat next to Cas, very close and let Sam sit by himself on the other side of the booth. He knew that there was no avoiding this feeling now. He'd talk to Cas tonight. He had to know if Cas felt the same way.

Castiel glanced at Sam, sitting on the other side of the booth, alone. He felt guilty, but he was also sitting next to Dean.
