DEMONHUNTER —
it took a long time for the humans to understand their own oppression.
they were everywhere, you see... and their reach came in ways no one could have anticipated. the devils were packaged as your local politician, the friendly neighborhood mailman, the hottest new celebrity— they existed at the highs and lows of humanity, coaxing those naive humans with comfortability and with temptation... and had it not been for those damn seers, maybe they would've gotten away with it.
THE BREAKDOWN —— our story here takes place in the near future, at the crossroads of pre and post-society. life was as we have known it before the coming of what's referred to as "awareness", though changed drastically once seers banded together to take down the demons who leeched off of the human's realm.
— basically what occurred was that, for centuries, demons were infiltrating humanity by posing as figures in their community worldwide, doing so to essentially leech off of human's life forces and nurture themselves. and they did that in just about any way imaginable— they'd brainwash humans through television, through popular brands of soda, through entertainment tabloids— basically, as long as humans were distracted, it allowed for the demons to go undetected.
— and that was going well for them for a long time! at least, until what the new world now calls the seers came along. seers are human who were not able to be swayed by the allure of demons, and no matter how many distractions were placed before them, they could still see the demons for what they truly were. naturally, the first person who caused a fuss about the fact that their local mayor was not a human, but instead a horrible blue-skinned, beady-eyed, horn-bearing demon looked a little insane... but the first person coming forward inspired more to come forth, and eventually distrust towards the government and the comforts in their life spread like wildfire... even to those who could not see the demons for their true form.
— war ensued between the humans and demons, who no longer cared to disguise themselves and sought to entirely exterminate humanity... and they would've won too, if not for a betrayal. as many humans began organizing to fight back against the demons, many of those devils understood that perhaps they could win some battles, but likely would not win the war— and so they offered their help to the humans in exchange for their lives.
— this roleplay takes place ten years after victory. the year is 2079. life is not as we once knew it— townships are spread few and far between, operating separately from one another. despite its vast advancements, technology is still sparse within these townships, and people are still suffering from the ravaging effects of the war. there is no order but the order, the faction which seers created to prevent demons from ever taking control in the realm of humans again. the order is based in the only standing large city, a bustling town called edge. as for those demons who betrayed their kind in order to survive, they are essentially prisoners to the order. they sure do live, but harshly beneath the rules of the order, who fear that those demons will betray them as they did their own kind and try to rule. having found ways to harness the demon's magic, they've trapped those demons in a realm between "reality" and hell, coined as limbo.
— things have been going well in this new society... until recently. there have been traces of demon attacks happening in various small towns, which has re-instilled the fear of being controlled by those demons once again. tension is rising between humans, who are starting to distrust one another and accuse each other of devilishness— and the worst part is, the malevolence that's occurring is so far appearing to be something much stronger than what they fought before, as the order can't track it. our roleplay begins with the order waking up the demons whom they spared, needing their help to get to the bottom of what's going on.- THE RULES —
— hey y'all! thanks for bearing through that wordy ass intro ahaha. i just wanted to lay some ground rules here, though everything is pretty intuitive i'd say?
— basically the characters we'll be creating for this are either going to be demons, seers, or humans that are roped into this adventure of trying to figure out what's going on— and i am hopeful to see a full spectrum of emotion, of action, and of adventure! i encourage romance (if you're comfortable with it), i encourage exploring topics of identity, i encourage harder topics—
— that being said, this roleplay will cover some more mature themes within the rules of rpnation. this rp will have themes of violence, murder, romance, dystopia, devils, classism, and so on. i am personally not comfortable rping with underage folk, and so i ask that you are 18+ in order to join.
— i really love detail in rp, and so i'm requesting that you can handle writing at least a paragraph or two when it comes to responses? i understand that sometimes your character has nothing to do but just stand and think the obvious, and people want to refrain from repetition, so i'm not strongly enforcing this rule but want to put it out there that this should be viewed as standard.
— as far as posting goes, i won't try to police when or how you do it but please just be active enough so that i know you still have interest!
— i'm not really sure yet if i'll cap this at a certain number of members or not, i'm just getting back into forum rp and so i don't remember how well it goes with a bunch of people? but i'll come to this decision asap, and it also of course depends on how many people show interest!
