Seth wandered into town, this town was very unique for it had a large temple at the top of a hill. Seth made his way to the temple, for he had no money to stay at an inn. He hoped they would take pity on him and let him stay one night. For evil was pursueing him. He pulled his hood further over his head to keep the cold winds out. He reached the two large doors of the temple and knocked with a large cross shaped knocker.

The door was answered by a girl with long blondish brown hair, lightly tanned skin, and piercing green eyes. She wore green robes along with green gloves. She stared defiantly at Seth. She opened the door all the way and gestured for him to come inside.

"Your a traveler, I presume? If you're looking for a room you'll need to wait a moment. I'll fetch the head Priest."

She left and returned quickly with a tall elderly man in all white robes. He was bald with a gold cross on his chest. "Yes? Are you seeking a place to board?"

Seth bowed respectfully, leaving his hood on his head.

"yes, but it would be for just one night"

The priest nodded and blessed Seth before turning to the girl. "Tawny!" the man said, gruffly grabbing at a chain around her right wrist. "Take our guest to a room."

"Yes sir..." she said, obviously ashamed of her position. She turned and led Seth away. "Follow me." She led him down a hall lit with gold candles until they reached a door that was oval shaped. She opened it. The inside was modest. It had lantern on a stand next to the bed. The bed was a straw mattress with a wood frame. "It's not much, but I hope you will rest well. Do you have a horse and cart that needs tending?"

Seth shooked his head.

"No" He then looked at the chain around her wrist and said, "What kind of priest keeps a young girl as a slave?"

"A priest that believes he'll purify the soul of a half demon." she said bitterly "SO no horse then? I will bring you blankets. Sit tight." She then left and returned a moment later with food.

"A demon huh?" He took the food and ate hungrily. "I heard about a demon causing trouble in this are. Couldnt possibly be you, right?"

She laughed. "No, not me." she showed him her chain. "As you can see I am unable to leave this temple. You must be talking about No face. He steals the faces of men to pass as a human. He also tends to enjoy the company of women... Don't worry, he can't enter the temple, so he won't be able to hurt you."

Seth smiled, "why thank you, I am much more relieved" He didnt sound sincere at all. He didnt even sound slightly worried.

"Well I'm sure we are all safe having a half blood guardng the halls"

She scowled, insulted that he chose those words. "Is there anything else you need, sir, or can I leave? My master is likely craving my presence......he always is..."

"Yes" Seth looked suspiciously at her, his wheels turning on the words "craving her presence".

"Alright, off with you then"

She nodded and turned to leave, pausing at the door."If you leave at dawn I will see you off." She then disappeared. Shortly after several priests would come by and offer blessings. It was ironic that they offer him blessings while someone within their walls received pain and torment. The worst part of their hypocracy was that they claimed they were cleansing her impure soul that she would be human completely and lose her demon self. Her tears and blood meant nothing to them. TO her they were the demons.

Seth wandered the halls, suspicious of the activities of the priests. He heard crying behind a door and busted it down while drawing a legendary sword everyone would recognize. It was the demon-slayer, Zorbane

The priest jumped back in surprise. Tawny was on the ground, her clothes in tatters, and her back carved and covered in blood. She lay there weakly. The image of Seth barely registered in her mind. Her senses were dulled with pain.

" What in hell is going on here!" Seth demanded, he pointed the sword at them "Your answer better be good"

"P-purification!" the head Priest stuttered. "We're cleansing the evil from her soul."

"K-kill them." Tawny hissed.

"See! Her soul is wicked. It must be cleansed."

"Let me purify yours"

Blood dripped from his sword, the priests lay dead at his feet. He offered a hand to Tawny.

"aint no rest for the wicked" Seth led her to his room "Beside if god was with them, he would have stopped my sword"

He flopped down on the cot "take the bed"

She looked at him in shock. She didn't argue though. She climbed onto the bed and curled up with a blanket. She looked at him and smiled softly.

"This is the first time in 12 years that I've felt a bed. It's nice."

Seth opened his eyes and looked at her "few hours of sleep then I'm taking off, I'm sure they won't be pleased with me killing the priests." He closed his eyes again and leaned back.

"Please...Take me with you." she said desperately. "I don't have anything here. My family is dead. I'm on my own. I just need to go as far as the next town. After that you can be rid of me."

"I don't much dealing with your kind, you only cause trouble."

"Fine" he said, irritated

She smiled and nuzzled the blanket, falling into a short but deep sleep. She was used to that anyways, living in this place. She awoke as soon as she heard him moving. She got up and dressed in a stolen tunic then shrouded herself in the blanket.

"Ready!" she said cheerfully.

His hood was back on his head, "I can see that, very well lets go" He lead them out of the Temple, some of the priests and guards stopping them on the way out.
