Fandom Demigods of the Great War: Characters [ALWAYS OPEN]

Welcome to Demigods of the Great War! This is an RPG set in the 1910s, following the life of demigods who live in London before and during World War I. As the war progresses, the British Empire loses power, and Olympus begins to transition out of London and into New York. The RP will start in the year 1910 so we have time to have the characters bond before the war starts in 1914, and use time lapses as appropriate. The Greek mythology is based off the Percy Jackson interpretation of how the myths are modernized.

This age is a big skirmish between Aphrodite and Ares. The 1880s through 1914 is known as the Belle Epoque, or Epoch of Beauty- an age where everything, from the ballgowns to the hairpins, was made with ornate detail and strong aesthetic. But in 1914, Ares starts his Great War and basically ends Aphrodite's era of beauty. Hephaestus and his children have a fun time with the invention of electricity and automobiles, and Apollo and his children enjoy epic music by great composers like Debussy and Stravinsky. The Underworld gets more busy than ever before with all the casualties of the Great War, which may or may not have something to do with some major demigod battles...

What does demigod life look like during this age of chaos and worldwide upheaval? It's up to you to decide!

Rules

• I intend for this to be a long-term RPG. Meaning, I hope it will go on for several months in real time, since the RP covers several years within the story. If you feel that the RP is getting boring, or you don't know what to do, talk to me about it! I won't be offended, and I'll be happy to help freshen up the RP or give you ideas. I would rather have people be honest with me that something is making them not want to post, instead of having people vanish without any explanation.
• This RP is always open to new people!
• Please try to be historically accurate, as this is a historical RPG. As in, don't have characters dress way far out of the time period or use slang that didn't exist yet. Of course, it doesn't all have to be perfect since there is an element of fantasy in this RP. There is an info topic that goes with this RPG (it is linked in the "Other" section). There are some parts that are required reading before signing up, and other parts that are optional.
• For the sake of convenience, please keep all your characters in or close to London (this includes Olympus).
• OP or Mary Sue characters aren't allowed; if your character has powers, make sure to balance them with realistic weaknesses.
• You may sign up as many characters as you can handle- I recommend 2 or 3 at most.
• You can play demigods, mortals, mythological creatures or gods. There is an audition form if you want to play a god.
• You may sign up demigod children of the Big Three, since the pact did not exist yet.
• If you want to sign up real historical figures as demigods, go for it!
• Please wait for me to approve your signup before you post.
• Please keep any violence to a PG-13 level.
• Please take any sexual scenes to PM.
• I would appreciate it if you beep out curse words using asterisks.

• Most importantly, have fun! You are a worldbuilder in this RPG just as much as I am. Feel free to be as creative as you want, and explore how Greek mythology would operate in the 1910s!

Name: Elsie Mayfield

Gender: F
Mortal, demigod or other? Demigod, daughter of Aphrodite

Personality:
ENFJ (Fe-Ni-Se-Ti)- Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging. Extremely perceptive to other peoples' emotions and the emotional chemistry of the group. Believes in external value systems, diplomatic, sensitive, ambiverted. Intuitively knowledgeable about people and morals.

Elsie has a big heart and is always (if naively) looking for the good in others. She has a high level of emotional intelligence and has found success in calming angry people and comforting grieving people. Because of her ability to unconsciously read the emotional climate of a group of people, she has the tendency to become a chameleon or wear a mask, not expressing her true self, depending on the situation. She often experiences confusion as to what her personal feelings are on a subject. Being highly sensitive, angry words and unspoken tension have a deep impact on her, so dealing with the wounds of everyday life can be a struggle with her. On her worst days, she falls into a state of depression and anxiety and can become isolated from her loved ones. Even though she is very much a "people person," she requires a lot of alone time to process all the information that her empathetic function has picked up.

Backstory:
Elsie comes from an upper middle class background and has lived in London for most of her life. She was raised by her father, a baron who enjoyed the finer things in life, like orchestral concerts, operas, art museums... and some less-than-fine things, like gambling and partying. He wasn't really home for her much, so she had to learn how to create her own fun with her friends at school. Some of her fonder memories with her father are the times he took her to see operas and concerts by famous composers like Stravinsky.

He never told her about her parentage; he told everyone that her mother died when she was very young.

Unlike most Aphrodite children, Elsie never had a very exciting love life. She was always more interested in matchmaking than in finding her own man... and recently, she has "friend zoned" a couple of gentlemen. She's extremely picky about whom she considers to be suitable for a romantic partner. (Hint: she would probably really interested in a blonde, musically gifted son of Apollo.) She gets a lot of enjoyment out of attending balls and dances, and trying to set up her friends with a date.

Strengths, skills and abilities: Elsie doesn't really have any major demigod powers, aside from the "demigod scent" that alerts monsters of her presence. Her skills relate more to settling conflict and having high emotional intelligence. She is a good dancer if that counts for anything.
Weaknesses and flaws: No powers, not physically very strong, easily overstimulated and overwhelmed, tends to take things personally and avoid conflict even if it's healthy to do so.

Picture and description:
Elsie is about 5'3", brunette, and blue-eyed. She has a delicate body build and isn't all that strong, but she is energetic and has good stamina.

Alright. I was thinking of maybe playing Odysseus. Maybe he was brought back to life to make sure the God's don't get too out of hand?
