Help Deleted thread reply

I had a lengthy reply I was working on and was almost done it, I regularly hit the save draft to make sure it was safe. I just went back to the thread and the whole reply is gone. Can I restore it?

I'm afraid not :/

Drafts are not saved to the server the way posts are. I believe it's something to do with cookies instead. So, if they're gone, there isn't anything we can do to retrieve them.

If you've got a long post-in-progress, I suggest saving it elsewhere because the drafts system can be a little glitchy. Many people use word processing programs, or you can create a thread in your Private Workshop (for that, make the post and then edit in, saving the changes every so often).

I've had this happen a couple times and sometimes refreshing the page helps (only if you've seen "draft saved").
Unfortunately, it's not full proof - only works on a few occasions. Sorry bruh.

I haven't had this happen even once since the update. My laptop has shut down and if I go back, my draft is still there. Even across devices. Haven't lost data even once since the update. I know others who have also never lost data since the update. I wonder why it's different for everybody.

Perhaps it depends on what you're using to access the site. I'm on an iPhone most of the time, which is when I sometimes lose drafts if I need to leave the page. Yet, ive never had the issue on my tablet. Just a thought.
