The Shy Writer
Drip drip drip, the rain splattered onto the concrete. The wind billowed and made everyone in the city get a chill, pulling their jackets closer to their body. The snow, white and fluffy as a pillow, a nightmare to drivers and bikers, killing them each one by one as it crashes their cars. Any 4 year old wouldn’t realize all these details, would they? They would be inside their home, snuggling up with their stuffed animals and their parents laughing, reading to them quietly. Maybe even awaiting for presents under the tree, eating sweets and cookies. But Luna Jones never had that love, that life. Oh, no. Instead it was chores, being screamed at she was worthless while being hit with glass in the process. Her parents were good at multi-tasking. They made her feel horrible, useless and alone. Her brother only comforted her, and that was the only love she had ever gotten. Her life was empty. She regretted being born in the first place.
Luna was smart, however. On her third birthday, when she got kicked out of her home, her parents disowning her and leaving her in the dirt, she knew she needed a home. But the toddler thought that begging an adult would be weak. She went into the alley way of the New York madness, and found a big box. And beside that, a strong curtain all ripped to shreds. Luna lived in that box, using the curtains as a blanket and comfort, holding the one thing that gave her love: Her stuffed bunny.
For 2 years she had lived that way, and continuing that ritual even now. And she still had on the same clothes as on her 3rd birthday; A purple dress with little purple stockings, and her white hair still messed up. A dingy eyepatch covered her left eye, covering the blindness she had inside of it. Yeah, her parents did that, too. And now, since it’s winter, her health will decrease.
Will you save her?
Will you give her the home she deserves?
