oh? sweetheart, you can't break

HIS BLUE-TINTED HUES SHIFTED TO STARE at the male who’d just entered. His brow rose at the loud statement, hiding a snicker behind a scoff. He watched the other ogle over the statues who he’d just flipped off prior to the other arriving. He had a feeling he’d fucked up, but the male could have cared less. Sue him for wanting to curse his father to the damn moon. The asshole deserves it. He’d admit that out loud if someone asked. He had no problems with that. Consequences be damned. He’d take them with his head held high, damnit.

He blinked, head cocked. “Huh? Fuck no.” He shook his head. “I’m not Axel.” He leaned further into his right hip, arms crossed against his muscular chest. “I’m waiting for the dumbass to show his face unless this is some sick joke to kill us all.” He grumbled. He wasn’t an optimistic, okay? It was a decent plan if that were the case. Gathering the last of the demi-gods to finish them. He huffed, eye twitching in annoyance. He could do with a fight. The tension built up within his frame was screaming to be released and beheading a few monsters sounded far more pleasing than standing here like sitting ducks.

He huffed, reaching to pinch the bridge of his nose. His left eye twitched in exasperated. He jerked his head at the sound of voices, hand reaching for his curved sword that rested in its sheath. His frame tensed in anticipation, gaze flickering towards the other.

He might not know the asshole, but Azure had no intentions of not protecting them. He’d regret it later if the other turned into some hideous creature, but for now Azure focused on the potential threat.

He bit back a snarl at the unstable ground. His muscles tensed, balancing himself to stay upright. He dutifully noted the multiple shrieks. For fuck sakes. If the Gods needed saving they sure as hell had a shitty way of expressing their gratitude. Assholes.

His midnight blue hues narrowed at the tape recorder falling out from within the Hermes statue. His brow rose in question. Eh? His maw opened only to pause at the voice that echoed from it. So that’s Axel. He grumbled. Of course. The stranger didn’t even have the decency to show himself.

Azure shuffled, crouching low to listen to the tape recorder. His hands resting lazily between his thighs while his black trench coat flooded around him, hiding his frame from view. His head cocked, drawing a snort out of him at the easy part. Fan-fucking-tastic. He let out a rumble that vibrated deep within his chest, eyes brightening at the mention of weapons. His left hand shifted to brush against the sword clasped to his belt loops. He had no intentions of finding more. The ones that rested against his frame were a familiar feeling that brought comfort despite being inanimate objects of metal.

The recording ended leaving Azure to bark out a laugh. His hand reaching to run through his raven-hued locks. “Well, that’s fucking great.” He growled. The sound low and guttural that vibrated within his throat. He stood to his full height, hands shoved in his pockets. His head lowered adoring an off-putting grin on ivory-hued lips. “Olympus, huh?”

His hues gradually bled to a brighter shade of royal azure. He glanced at the group a little way off from him. His lips tugged into a frown. He sure as hell didn’t know them and the thought of going on a road trip with a bunch of strangers wasn’t pleasing. He rumbled in annoyance. He didn’t really have a choice, did he? The man had nothing better to do than wallow in self-pity and wait until his body gave out.

His head cocked, listening to the banging echoes throughout the forest. His lips tugged into a sneer. “Seems it pissed something off.” He quipped. His voice barely audible.

Damn. He rolled his shoulders, listening to the audible pops and cracks. He hadn’t had a good fight in a while. His hues darkened to a midnight-hue with a feral grin plastered across ivory-hued lips.

Laura Eldrige
Location: Camp Ivy

Laura could only sigh as they entered the temple and found not only the statues, but someone that Laura really didn't want to meet. Well she didn't want to meet anyone as she hated all but a few people, but still she really didn't want to see Azure here or was it Mason. Well whatever she had no desire to see that fucking edge lord again. Really he gave the kids of death a run for their money in the how edgy can i act department. In the short time he had been at camp Laura had come to wonder how one person could be so over dramatic. The only thing special about him to Laura was his super special blue fire, not only did he get to be their father's favorite but he had gotten a one of a kind power and yet still acted like some special tortured soul. Being a tortured soul was about the most fucking standard life any half blood had. The fact Laura was on good terms with her human parents and their lives had not been ruined was the one thing she had to hold over all these other half bloods.

The recording going to static only made laura sigh, she was going to have to fix that, not that she was going to tell anyone she could. Still the monsters seemed agitated and a fight was going to happen. Still even with monster bearing down on them Laura couldn't help but insult her half brother.

" Monsters can smell edgelord" Laura sarcastically commented " It must have been Mason, or was it Azura, or is it darkslayer xx666xxx now?" She continued rhetorically " So I guess it wasn't your cursed eye or whatever that lead you here just reddit. " Laura didn't hide her hate though there was a little amusement as seeing Azure as character on TV and not a real person.

Laura didn't fear retaliation for her insults and pulled her bag off and reached deep, deeper than she should be able too looking for something. Then she pulled out a pistol with glowing red runes and a silver revolver with glowing blue ones. " There we go never really expected to have to use these when i made them" Laura chuckled she had made them simply to make them, she might not have any super special one of a kind powers like Azure, but she had some skills at least.

- Oak Fowlis -

Peeking over his left shoulder, Oak listened to Laura’s scathing words and owlishly blinked. Slowly, but surely, he noticed that many of the more well versed part of the group dislikes their godly parents. A lot. It made him think about his past. Of his mother and grandmother.

“Then . . . “ Oak started quietly, a corner of his lips quirked up. “It’s a good thing I don’t care or know who my father is.”

His mom took care of him with the help of his grandmother and he’s proud about that fact. Growing up, Oak barely has thought of his father and now that it’s possible his father is a Greek deity; Oak isn’t exactly ready to see his father. Nor does he want to. He’s only here because he saw a harpy and had no choice but to follow Axel’s instructions in Reddit.

Why is he thinking so much now? Is it because him of not taking his meds? ‘That could be it.’ He thought, not used to his mind going fast like this and switching topics easily. It’s rather overwhelming.

The runner stood still for a moment, realizing what Laura said at the end. His hesitate grin relaxed to a full smile, amazed at what she could do——or what she’s hinting she can do.

”That’s really kind of you. Thank you.” He replied graciously. More like really cool. How many people can do blacksmithing, honestly? Not that many. It’s a dying skill nowadays and to have someone that can make weapons is just epic.

Just as he saw two shadowy figures in the distance, realizing that they weren’t the first ones in the temple, said temple shook. Causing a surprised Oak to stumble around with his arms waving about before he covered his ears. Wincing at the screeches that caused the shake.

”Why are there so many?!” Oak yelled, not expecting an answer. Then he realized how lucky he got to reaching Camp Ivy. There were many within the forest!! What would have happened if one of those harpies caught him beforehand?! That would have been bad! Really really bad!

Catching onto his anxiety and taking deep breathes, the runner noticed that the screeching stopped. Followed by a plastic thingy hitting the marble floor. Oak slowly took his hands off his ears as the tape recorder played, a weary brow raised.

Then he deadpanned at the tiny machine, dread filling him to the brim. This guy is not here?! What was the point of coming here?! Oak had to agree with Micah: what were they supposed to do now?!

Weapons?! Was…. Axel hinting that they were gonna fight something?! Oak snapped his head towards where everyone heard the loud banging sound. Oh great! Lovely! Said weapons are outside with whatever is out there!

He went over to Micah to pull him up quickly, offering a hand as he wearily gazed at the entrance of the temple. His lips pinched and frowning in alert and panic. Even with weapons, Oak is not trained for fighting! He only trained for track and field. There’s no way he could beat a harpy or whatever that is outside.

‘Maybe he could outrun them—-but those things fly!

Oak took a deep breathe, nervous of what they are about to do. “To the ones who have no weapons or are new to this, we should find weapons to defend ourselves while the more experienced fights.” He took another deep breathe. “That way, at least we’d be able to join in after or have a way to defend ourselves.”

It would be dumb to fight whatever is out there without a weapon and Oak has a feeling that the camp’s weapons are not like Laura’s or Azure’s.

”Is that okay with everyone?” Oak is nervous, thoughts racing the more he thought about fighting. They were going to have to fight for their lives now and Oak was unaware of how dangerous this trip would be. He silently cursed at Axel and at the deities for putting everyone in these sorts of situations.

Well... that was a far more friendly greeting than she usualy god from demigods, then again, it likely was different when the group is so small. Nisha took a deep breath before once again painting a smile across her face, making the scars that so many people had already focused on to bend and twist on themselves. "I... dont live in reddit... Im from Belmont Califonia if were giving out residents" With that out of the way, she could pay more attention to the other side of the conversation.

Somehow, Nisha hadnt noticed the pristine building standing out in a city of rubble, if that was even possible. But now that her attention had been brought to it she wasnt able to take her eyes off of it. She felt something pulling her, it took her a moment... but it was the darkness. She inwardly sighed, wherever she went, whatever she did it pulled at her. Ignoring it she looked at their local bomb, also known as Laura. Nisha honestly had to wonder what the girls problem was, then again, it wasnt her problem and she didnt care enough to try and figure it out. But they were on the move before the stary eyed girl had any more time to fall into her pool of thoughts.

Entering the temple made her chest constrict. Not because of anyone thing, but it just felt... off. She suppoed it was because it was a sacred area, she always felt the same when entering churches. She shook herself free of the feeling and contined with the rest of the group. She glances around, not finding a statue that spisificly rendered what she knew to be her mother, instead, the Zeus statue seemed like it was glaring at her, and, for jsut a moment she glared back. Glared back before remembering that they were gods and could strike her dead at any moment... Or, not so much? This whole thing was confusing.

But with Nishas sweep she spotted two men sitting in the dark. Okay, creepy. Thankfuly they werent guy in the bathroom creepy, just, why are you hiding creepy. Either way, and either creepy, she furrowed her eyebrows as she watched one of them just seemingly get anoyed with the fact that their little group existed. But before she could really try and think about it, severaly things happened at once and she was met with screaching. Her eyes flicked to where she thought the sound was coming from and found that there was now a recorder sitting on the ground and relaying what their caller had to offer them. She sighed, having to agree with the green haired boy. Why come here in the first place?

Then, the kinda creepy but mostly normal looking guy proposed that they go to the weapon shack... But the mosters... Nisha looked at her arms, which the night had retreaded to below her elbows at this point, she would be able to manage a simple spell. So, with a meek voice the child of Nyx spoke up, "I... could probably cast a blanket of darkness, give us cover as we dash to the weapons?"

JJ listened to the other male as he spoke. His tone was very straightforward and blunt not beating around the bush of things at all. He denied being Axel and revealed he was waiting for him to show up or something worse. "If this was a trap I'll have to agree with you, and say it's a pretty good one. Let's just hope its not." He simply stated before he started looking around. To be truthful, he really hope this shit wasn't a joke and the gods were actually disappearing. He spent a little over a year training and years hearing stories about the quest other demigods went on, including his grandfather. It may be a bit selfish of him, but he wanted to have a taste of his own adventure and make his own story. He didn't want to return to the Fifth Cohort empty handed with nothing to tell the other campers. He wanted to experience the trials and tribulations of a demi-titan/legacy for himself and make his grandfather proud.

As he looked around the temple, he laid eyes on each and everyone of the statues displaying the gods. He felt like they were staring right back at him as he examined them. He also noticed the small offering boxes at each of the statues. His curiosity got the best of him as he ended up walking to the statue that resembles the most of Mars and opens it up seeing nothing inside. He didn't really know what to expect once he opened it, but he at least he thought it would be something in there. He continued looking at the statues noticing there wasn't one of Pluto, which he found a bit weird. He looked towards the back room seeing small statues of other gods and goddesses, which made him feel a bit weird. The simple reason was because there was no signs of any models or pictures of the Titans. The reason for that was obvious; however, for someone one who's never seen what his father looked like to other Olympians, he was pretty bummed.

As time continued, he soon heard voices, and his eyes instantly locked with the other male within the temple. If things were to end up going south, it seems these two were gonna have to fight their way out. Julian stood ready, turning his eyes onto the temple door, waiting for what's to come. The voices soon revealed themselves to be other humans, much like themselves...he hoped. But before he could really speak, the ground began shaking violently. "What the fuck?!" JJ said as he stumbled about before leaning against one of the statues for support. As he did, he heard multiple sounds of screeching in the distance. "That's not good." He said before turning his attention towards the tape recorder that fell from a nearby statue due to the rumbling. He listened from his position and as the recording ended his eyes widen at the realization. "Olympus?? I'm supposed to be at Olympus! Damn prophecy sent me here instead! Great...just great." He said as he stepped away from the statue walking towards the tape recorder. He picks it up and places it inside his bag just in case he'll need it later. He turned his head towards Azure who was laughing hysterically. Julian couldn't help but shake his head as he turned towards the others.

Some of them don't look like much fighters, but most times looks can be deceiving. With the rumbling happening again and the sounds of screeching getting closer, JJ knew things were about to get a hell of a lot more interesting. he turned to look at Azure once more, who seemed ready for a fight, which caused smirk to form on JJ's face. He enjoyed the fact that there was someone else her who enjoys fighting just as much as he does. Preparing himself for a fight, he held his left hand out to the side summoning his sword in a small flash of golden light. He began walking towards the others, spinning his sword once, before placing it on his shoulder. He heard the plan as he approached which seemed straight forward. "Sounds good to me." He said simply with a grin looking at everyone. He turned to Nisha as she spoke and hearing her mention darkness made the hairs on his arm stand up. Luckily he had a hoodie on. "Do what you gotta do. Get them there, and we'll keep their focus." He says to her, referring to 'we' as in Azure, Laura, and himself . "As the Romans say, Aut vincere aut mori. Conquer or Die." He says in latin, before stepping out of the temple to greet their new guest. He looked up at the sun, as he pulled his chain out from behind his hoodie. Despite not knowing his father, he came to love that chain of his, and treats it as his good luck charm.

Oliver Morgan

The glare Laura sent Oliver's way was enough to send a shiver running up his spine. “Sorry, I didn’t mean no offense but I reckon that was a little rude of me” he apologized to the fuming girl. His own Laura had always taken comments like that in stride, dishing it back as well as she took it- and maybe Ollie had taken that for granted. The Laura he faced now seemed more inclined to view every comment as an attack she needed to fight back against. Her height and appearance seemed like an especially sore subject, and Oliver resolved to do his best to avoid making any more remarks about them.

Giving Laura some space for the moment, Oliver entered the temple alongside Oak and Micah. The sprawling room was sparsely decorated, ornately carved marble everywhere you looked but empty aside from thirteen towering statues. Even he could guess that these were the Greek gods, and as his eyes flitted over each one in turn the boy couldn’t help but wonder which one was his father. None of them stuck out to him exceptionally, and the clean white marble hardly gave away much to search for a resemblance in. No way to tell which might share his own messy jet black hair or shadowed eyes, or even his pale complexion that refused to darken no matter how much time he spent in the sun.

When Oak spoke up his voice echoed, a reminder of just how large and empty the temple was as well as how quiet things had become. The heavy feeling he mentioned was one Oliver felt as well and it carried a certain familiarity with it. "It feels like the dead" he said aloud, shaking his head solemnly. That pressure, the vast overwhelming emptiness, and yet something was missing. Somehow the temple felt less comforting than the afterlife itself, as though he didn’t belong there. Compared to the temple, the underworld had seemed almost… welcoming.

Oliver was pulled out of his reflection on death as the floor began to shake violently and the loud cries of monsters sounded from outside. The cowboy took a reflexive step towards the door and his eyes frantically searched for something, anything that could be used to defend them. As he searched a voice spoke up, from where it came though Ollie had no idea. It clearly didn’t come from anyone gathered within the temple, and seemed to crackle and buzz and even cut off at times. It soon became clear the speaker was the Axel they had come looking for, speaking to them through what Ollie could only assume was some form of strange magic. But as suddenly as the voice had begun it stopped, leaving behind only a loud crackling noise. Momentarily Oliver thought that Axel must have lost whatever mystical connection he had formed with them, until his voice returned and finally delivered information that meant something to Oliver. Where they could arm themselves.

The cowboy glanced in the direction from which a loud laugh came, spotting two more boys he hadn’t seen before. Laura seemed to know one of them though, and that was good enough for Oliver to feel that he could trust them. She didn’t seem to like the Azure boy very much, but that was no surprise nor did it mark him as her enemy. Ollie perked up as Laura drew a pair of barking irons from her bag, admiring them with starry eyes. He had never seen such magnificent guns in his life- either life. “Wow, you really make them yourself grumpybritches? I’ve never seen such a heavy looking six-gun,” he praised her work with an impressed nod, “you could probably beef one of those big bull-men with that thing” he said alluding to the minotaur that had attacked him earlier that day.

A confused look crossed Oliver’s face as Azure’s friend came over, thrown off by the Latin. Not because he couldn’t understand the words, but because for some reason Ollie knew what they meant even before the speaker had translated them. As a rancher’s boy, Ollie was far from well-read and he had definitely never studied the dead language those stuffy New York lawyers seemed so fond of. So it made no sense that the words rang just as meaningfully in his head as any English word would. Then again, it was just one addition to the pile of nonsense that grew every day.

Shaking this strange development off, Oliver approached the scarred girl with a smile and gestured for Oak and Micah to follow with a jerk of his head. “If y’all know what you’re doing, and you’ve got the tools to back it up, then we got no choice but to trust you to watch our backs” he said to Laura and the other armed demigods. Slapping a hand on Nisha’s shoulder he added, “and if you can get the rest of us to those weapons, I’ll make sure none of y’all cash in before you’re due”

THE FERAL GRIN SLIPPED AWAY at the voice. His eyebrow twitched in annoyance at the albino standing a little way from him. He couldn’t help the sneer that danced across ivory-hued lips. Nice to see you too, asshole. He huffed. The male made no comment, canines digging into the torn flesh of his bottom lip.

His brow rose at the nicknames. Seriously? Darkslayer? He snorted at the god-awful nickname. He wasn’t surprised. It only proved to set him off even more now that they had monsters hot on their tails. He really didn’t need to deal with this shit. Where the fuck is the alcohol when you need it. He huffed. Fucking hell. “Nice to see you too.” He grumbled under his breath. His tone sarcastic.

“Mason or Azure.” He quipped. His tone deadpan. He doubted she cared. The only emotion being the twitch of his left eye. He knew how much she hated him. It wasn’t hard to see. Real fucking obvious. The raven-haired male simply flipped her off to quell the subtle anger bubbling beneath the surface, even if she was preoccupied with her bag.

He almost barked out laughing at the grumpybritches. The only noticeable trait was the snort that escaped his lips. Nice nickname. He thought smudgy. It was superior to his own nicknames Laura tossed out at him.

His hues shifted to the male whom seemed to freak out after the initial shake of the temple. Azure cocked his head, listening to the other with a low, guttural noise in the back of his throat ( growling ). It was a good plan. He sure as hell hoped those who couldn’t fight decided to play hero. None of them needed that. He had enough on his plate making sure these dumbasses made it to the weaponry without dying.

“I have no problem with it.” He shrugged. “If you can’t fight, then don’t be a dumbass and join. We don’t need to be worrying about some idiot wanting to play hero and getting themselves killed.” He didn’t have time to see if he offended anyone.

“If something comes at you—” His lips curled at the thought. He might not know them, but he sure as well wouldn’t let any of them get hurt. Strangers be damned. “—point the sharp end at it.” He finished.

He briefly glanced at Laura. Azure didn’t dislike her, although he knew damn well how much she despised him. He didn’t doubt her abilities, but he sure as hell would not watch the other get injured even if she could handle it.

He reached to drag a hand through his raven-hued locks. His midnight blue hues flickered to the woman who mentioned coating the small group in a blanket of darkness. He grunted in agreement. It wasn’t bad. It’d give them a chance to get to the weaponry easier. “Sounds good.” He watched the other leave the temple.

Azure wasn’t far behind him, pausing briefly to stare at the group. His gaze narrowed. Fucking hell. He reached behind him, fingers skimming the sheath until they curled around the hilt of his blade. It was a hybrid, a double-edged blade despite it having obvious characteristics of a katana. He twirled the blade, so it rested against his calloused palms, holding out the hilt to Oak. “Better bring it back.” His lips curled into a cheeky grin.

The male pivoted on his feet, hand reaching to grasp his Hsu Quandao from just below the blade. He swiftly pulled the cream-colored cloth away from the silver blade, stuffing it into the sheath with ease.

A feral grin plastered across ivory-hued lips at the promise of a fight. The weapon resting comfortably on his shoulder, hand resting near the end of the prolonged hilt. He stood beside the other, head cocked. “Ready?” His brow quirked at the other, noting the chain he pulled out from his hoodie. The male shifted from foot to foot, his other hand brushing a few strands of hair away from his eyes.

He wondered how many were coming, not that it’d change much. He’d been itching for a fight since he arrived. His hand tightened around the hilt at the snarls and growls of monsters advancing towards them. Showtime fuckers.

- Oak Fowlis -

Relieved that everyone agreed to this plan, Oak took another deep breath and silently sighed out. Listening to what everyone else is saying, his gaze went to Nisha. He gave her a supportive grin while Ollie held her shoulder. ‘That’s perfect’, he thought, his anxiety somewhat soothed from the idea of being cloaked while they traveled.

If everything goes extremely well, then this little group might be able to survive with defending themselves.

Just as the guy with the black hoodie walked out of the temple, Oak gulped. Still nervous to venture off. They should be fine … hopefully. “Okay, time to leave, guys.” He muttered, wanting to take advantage of the two newcomers and Laura fighting whatever’s out there at the beginning.

However, before he could take another step closer to his group, a hilt suddenly appeared within his sight. His golden eyes blinked owlishly as they followed it back to the hand that’s holding the sword and it’s very blue owner: Mason.

Pausing from seeing that cheeky grin and taking a big intake of air, Oak nodded curtly and immediately grabbed the hilt. Hands slightly touched but the runner didn’t mind it; focused on what he was holding.’ It‘s heavy‘,he thought as he brought the sword close to his body. He held it like how he saw in some anime show about samurais. Though like a novice that he is in sword fighting, with two hands on the hilt, Oak kept the blade at an angle and tilted to his right side. Ready to swing if need be.

“After this fight.” Oak promised shortly, feeling not just the weight of the katana, but also the indication. Now that his mind is set to do something, his anxiety calmed. Settling into determination to stay alive along with the others. He’s pretty quick, so if need be, he can go at any side and swing. “Just use the pointy end.” He reminded himself, watching Mason also leave the temple before his gaze went back to Ollie, Nisha, and Micah.

Once everyone was ready and Nisha used her power to cover them, Oak followed his group outside. Quietly making their way out of the temple and towards the weaponry.

A lot of people were showing up and things were getting crowded as the monsters came, harpies and hellhounds. It looked like daddy wanted his kids home big time. That or they were just unlucky Laura didn't really know if gods sent monsters to bring people back or monsters just showed up. If more than the children of death could use stygian iron them they might be free of monsters by now. Well for now it seemed that some idiot thought Laura would protect any of them, that was pathetic to think they could rely on her. Laura would only fight to save her own life, and if more people weren't idiots and had come armed she would have just hid behind them and let them do the annoying work of killing. The roman almost spoke as if he didn't know how to get to Olympus did the Romans really not educate their kids even Laura knew where it was, though getting there would be a pain in the ass.

When Oliver apologized Laura didn't even acknowledge that he had in fact it only made her mad for some reason. There really was no right move around her aside from what he said about her guns. Laura did like compliments about her crafts when they weren't compared to Leo's. She hated how every time she did something her half brother had to out do her and grind to dust any tiny bit of worth she had. " Hell's scream and star's fall i made them both and they are more than fancy they are magical" She explained her tone for once not hatful or angry.

Mason didn't really react how Laura wanted, but it was clear he was annoyed and that alone made Laura a bit more happy. She also wasn't going to call him anything he wanted, given he didn't get her making fun of him with the edgy name she would just make sure he knew just what she thought of him. " Edgelord it is" She retorted to him. Mason's laugh didn't improve her mood and in fact brought her back down from having been a little bit more happy and having some pride. Oliver was an idiot so she just accepted he would give out stupid names, but Mason had at least a few brain cells assuming her hadn't drowned them in alcohol yet.

When Mason gave out one of his weapons Laura got annoyed that in a way one of her half siblings was showing her up. Well sge had a solution. Laura geld up the red runed Hell'sscream to Oliver. " Here use it, just keep it away from something somone if fighting the rounds explode" she explained. They coukd easily kill a lesser monster or gouge out holes in greater ones.

Who Let the Dogs Out?
sm-hero.png
"Ready?" Asked the other male beside him. A grin formed on his face as the thought of battle continued to excite him. He turned his head over towards the other male and says, "People like us are born ready my friend. By the way, my name's Julian but just call me JJ for short." His grip on his sword readjusted once more, before he took a look behind him towards the others. It seemed like they were just about ready to head out. He then placed his attention in the direction of the armory. The path to the armory seemed to be a straight shot off towards the side. As long as they keep the enemies focus on them, they should be fine. Right? With yet another screech coming from the north side of the camp, Julian snapped his attention towards the source. Hovering over the trees, was a singular harpy flapping its wings letting its presence known. "I'm gonna clip those wings off that butterfly." He says to Azure declaring his future target. But before he charged into battle, the same harpy released another screech; however, this time it was as if it was issuing a charge order. Howling could be heard from all around them as hellhounds began exiting the tree lines. There was a huge majority of them coming from the north side of camp, while there were one to two stragglers coming from other parts of the forest around camp. Julien couldn't make out their exact size from their current distance; however if he had to guess, they seemed to be nearly 6ft (183cm) tall. "Hellhounds?! How in the hell did this many hellhounds get into the camp?! Does this place not have a barrier?!" He questioned aloud to no one particular. With the numbers currently against them, it's crucial that the others get weapons fast. He turns his head towards the temple yelling at the group, "Get to the armory fast!!". He only hoped that blanket of darkness was enough to get them to the armory safely.

After speaking to the others, he turned towards Azure simply saying, "Lets go." Those were his final words before the demi-titan started his charge towards the larger group coming from the north. He figured it'll be best to handle the larger numbers before they overrun the rest of the group. As they ran, JJ used his free hand to great a ball of condensed solar energy. "When I give the command, cover your eyes. I'm gonna flash the hellhounds giving us a brief advantage for 5 seconds!" He spoke loud and clear making sure he was heard. Soon enough to two forces started to encounter each other right before the damaged arena. "Cover your eyes!" He yells before chucking the orb towards the hellhounds and snapped his fingers releasing a flash of solar light. That flash created an opening for the attacks to deal some damage and weaken the numbers of the hellhound ranks. "Attack!!" He ordered as he lunged into battle coming down onto a hellhounds head with a downstrike of his blade 'DayBreaker'. His attack caused that hellhound to burst into dust, as his onslaught continued. Attacking the neighboring hounds around him, he striked quick fatal blows towards their heads. In those five seconds, Julian sent 6 hellhounds back to tartarus, hoping Azura matched his or did a bit more. Once those initial five seconds were up, the hellhounds were now on the attack; however, Julian never let up his attack. After that first taste of 'blood', he held a devilish grin striking down hellhound after hellhound. He rolled, weaved, punched, and kicked his way through the hellhounds making sure to stay close up on them so they couldn't do much with their claws. If they tried to bite in his direction they were meet with a dagger sized DayBreak in their mouths. Because he was so close to them, he shortened the length of his weapon's blade turning it from a sword to a dagger, extending it only when he had to block or his distance slightly grew. Julian wasn't new to feeling of battle at all. The adrenaline, the excitement, the danger, he loved and craved for it all. He only needs a simple taste of it for his other side to show.

Information Concerning: The Battle

A majority of the enemies appear to be coming from the northern treeline. However, a few stragglers are coming from various locations. Amongst these enemies are one relatively large Harpy who appears to be bloodthirsty and a hoard of hellhounds.

The Harpy - The Harpy is much larger than the hellhounds and is relatively powerful. Unless incredibly skilled, a normal blade isn't enough to take her out. She's swift in flight and is able to manipulate the wind thanks to aerokenesis (she can create sharp and sudden gusts of wind powerful enough to carry humans). Additionally, like all Harpies, she is resistant to fire.
However, something about her is off. To a normal demigod, this might not be easily spotted. One of her peculiarities is that she's particularly interested in the children of Hades/Pluto. As a result, she will instinctively avoid other demigods in an attempt to take the lives of those children.

The Hellhounds - The Hellhounds are massive dog-like creatures, similar to bull mastiffs. In terms of size, they tower about the average height of a human (think Werewolves from Twilight) and possess immense superhuman strength and agility. Killing one isn't a difficult task, but killing a whole hoard of them may prove to be tricky. They seem especially angry after one of the demigods killed off their kin. Despite killing them, there appears to be a neverending number of them as they keep replenishing their forces.
Once again, despite originating from the underworld, the hellhounds are particularly after the children of Hades/Pluto.
Children of Hades/Pluto do not fear the Hellhounds. However, the other demigods may feel pressure or some sort of nervousness because of their presence.
Additionally, the children of Nyx may feel a familiarity towards Hellhounds due to sharing the same godly parent. Hellhounds will NOT touch the children of Nyx.

"Right, weapons- fighting." Micah took Oak's hand, slowly getting himself off the ground after the disaster Axel put them through. How the hell was this man supposed to muster up the courage to fight? His entire life consisted of beauty pageants, modeling, and his half-assed acting career. Most of what he knew was sitting still and looking pretty, so fighting was way out of the question. Plus, what the hell is he supposed to do if they mess up his face?! Plastic surgery is definitely a no-go, what would his fans think if they find out he's a poser? While the rest of the group began coming up with plans to tackle the oncoming hoard of monsters, Micah was standing there not knowing what to do with himself. His only concerns consisted of his face and his inability to hold a knife. He felt- no he was completely useless. Azure, Laura, and Julian offered to stand in the front lines while the rest chalked up the courage to try and fight. People who barely knew each other, people who had met not even an hour before, were putting themselves on the line to help one another. And Micah? He was worried about his face?

With a big sigh and a slap to his fragile face, he managed to get ahold of himself. Why the hell had he chosen to come here in the first place? He knew this was going to be dangerous, he knew the possibility of ruining his face. I mean, look at Nisha, the girl was gorgeous even with a large scar! He could definitely rock a scar if it came down to it. Maybe his fans would like him more. Who knows, that's not the point. He followed the Reddit post because he knew something about his life was off, and for whatever reason, it led him to a camp dedicated to Greek Gods. Most of the people here knew they were descendants of the Gods, which meant Micah had to be too. So, if he's truly a descendant then he can kick these monsters' asses to Tartarus! Well, if he was a descendant of a powerful god. Some of them weren't so,,,, fighty?

Micah made his way over to the weapon group, if he was going to do this then he needed something to protect himself. "What cowboy said, we're counting on you, Nisha! I'm not sure what you're doing but it'll be fine!" Once Nisha made the cover, which amazed Micah (but he didn't have much time to express it), they would begin heading toward the Armory.

NOTE The Armory was run-down, but the building still stood strong. Something had tried to destroy it but did so unsuccessfully. The inside looked burned, and most of the walls and shelves were unrecognizable. Half of the building had collapsed, so one would have to move rubble in order to get to the remaining weapons. All of the weapons that remained lay on the floor or splattered outside the building. The variety of weapons consisted of short swords, spears, daggers, axes, and a few shields. All of the weapons were crafted out of celestial bronze but are mediocre in terms of strength and power. There were a few bows, but the bowstrings had been broken. Additionally, there were pieces of basic armor hidden in a corner of the building. Not a lot, but enough to provide basic protection.

Bastian was beginning to wonder if someone had pulled a dirty online prank on him. And sure, he shouldn't be stupid enough to go believing what the Reddit post said but that tingly feeling he always got when something supernatural is about to occur, yeah, he got that feeling. And he just had to go look into what this unknown Reddit was all about, hell it might even be legit, and he's the kind of person who won't ever back down from a challenge. This is how he wound up in these forests. Iulius, a spear with Greek Fire burning on the tip, was what he was carrying, and he was also holding an adamantine shield. In case something dangerous jumped at him while he was searching, he was also wearing his Bracelets of Dominion and a Greek helmet over his head. He had now realized that he had been trudging through countless trees and twigs for twenty minutes. He had dirt smudges on his face and leaves poking out of his unkempt hair. He only wore a grey hoodie with the New York University insignia on the front, long pants, and hiking boots (at least he got that part right), which were inappropriate attire for this voyage. But what can he say he was in a hurry.

Bastian used a more mystical strategy to navigate because it was evident he was lost. He certainly doesn't use his magic very often in normal circumstances, despite being a child of Hecate and a legacy of Circe. As he murmured the phrase "βλέπω," Bastian's eyes shone a deep purple. As the spell was cast, everything surrounding Bastian, including the trees, plants, and the air, started to illuminate. In spite of the darkness that obscured his vision, he was able to see the energy that underlies practically everything. This energy came in a variety of colors, with the flora having a yellow-green hue and the animals and insects having a scorching orange hue. He scanned his surroundings with his mystically improved vision, using the light from his flaming spear to follow any ethereal or corporeal beings that might've been here by their psychic or magical emissions.

And that's how he discovered them—a trail left behind by a group of individuals he assumed to be demigods. One of the many ways monsters might detect demigods, even if they carefully concealed themselves, was by the stronger and more lively psychic trail they left behind. When he noticed a slow, gradual ground trembling while following the collection of trails, he would stop dead in his tracks. He carefully searched his surroundings to find the cause of the shaking while he stood on alert, knelt down, raised his shield, and held his spear high. The shaking intensified more and was soon followed by growling, and before he knew it a cry of hellhounds suddenly tackled him to the ground.

Bastian was going to be hellhound chow if he didn't do something to fend off these devil canines as one of the hellhounds charged toward him with blood-red eyes and a drooling mouth with fangs as sharp as needles. He suddenly slammed his hands on the ground and yelled, "ριπή!" as he laid on his back with his shield on top of him. All 7 hellhounds were sent flying, and some adjacent trees were even uprooted, by a strong gust generated by a pulse of magical energy that was released from his hands from the earth. He soon stumbled back to his feet, raised his shield high, and noted that some of the hellhounds were already recovering from his attack. He took advantage of this opportunity to launch another attack. One of the hellhounds was impaled by Bastian's spear when he threw it precisely, causing it to catch fire from the Greek fire it was covered in. As the remainder of the hellhounds raced at him in response to the sudden onslaught, Bastian knocked one of them away and dove to avoid another as it went by above. He then ran to his spear, grabbed it, and started racing through the trees. Bastia made a brief attempt to run, but it was unsuccessful as one of the hellhounds jumped up in rage and bit into his shoulders. Bastian cried out in agony as the searing pain ripped through his arms like molten lava being dumped on his shoulders. He fell to the ground and rolled toward a vacant field near the armory.

When Bastian reached for his shoulder, he would feel something warm coating his arms, wincing in pain, and glance down to see his hands soaked in blood—his own blood. Bastian now felt an adrenaline rush, which made him more enraged than before. He stood up and took hold of his emerald-flaming spear. The other hellhounds joined the one that had bit him and stood in a semi-circle in front of him at a distance of a few feet, barking and sneering in his direction, now appearing reluctant to approach him. He couldn't feel their ominous presence now because of the adrenaline rush he was experiencing.

Bastian flung his shield to the side and stood there holding Iulius just with his uninjured arm, his arm covered in blood, and a massive cut on his shoulder. The hounds charged at him, mistaking it for weakness. In that instant, Bastian focused all of his raw magical power through the spear, his eyes gleaming a burning purple. When Bastian slammed the spearhead to the ground, the ground violently shook and cracked as the spear started to glow with magical energy that had an iridescent tint. With a loud BOOM, a tremendous wave of Greek fire and magical energy erupted, searing the majority of the hellhounds and sending them all flying in opposite directions.
The-Adam-Project-GIF.gif
"Argh!", Bastian yelled in pain from the bite on his shoulder, he hovered his hands over his shoulder and his hand glowed a verdant hue as it slowly began healing his wound. It'll stop the bleeding but the wound will still be present, however, he'll need his supplies home to create an ailment to speed up the healing process. Grabbing his shield off the ground, Bastian noticed up ahead there were more hellhounds coming and look to his left to see other people fighting off some hellhounds too. Without saying a word ran up to the others and joined the battle.

"ενέργεια!"

His hands glow blue with mystical energy and a circular sigil forms quickly in front of his hand, disappearing just as fast as a burst of sapphire energy blast traveled and hit 3 hellhounds, causing them to explode in cinder.
1dKQ.gif

"I presume you lot are here because of that Reddit post too, glad I'm not the only idiot that followed too.", he muttered that last part as he turned to them, still wearing his helmet as some blood and ash was smudged on it.

Nisha jumped slightly as a hand was placed on her shoulder, smiling up to its owner, Oliver. She watched and listened as the group slowly agreed on a plan, some would go out swinging, the rest would hide under her shadow. Which in turn, put a fair amount of pressure onto her. It felt like just about everyone else was far more prepared than her... For gods' sakes, her eyes still had a shadow of black cast on them, and she wasn't quite sure if she would be able to do it... But for the sake of not dying, she had to. She took a deep breath as she saw other people getting ready and stepped slightly outside, seeing just how many monsters were out there.

Nisha spread out her hands and shadows from the room gathered and poured out, it almost looked like ink in water, but they stayed afloat in the air. She looked to everyone else and maneuvered the shadows into more of a funnel so everyone inside could see as if it was a dim room, but to everyone outside the tunnel could only see a mass of darkness blotting their vision. Hearing other demigods' voices edging her and motivating her, she waived a hand to everyone, saying 'come-on'. She wanted to say something back to those who clearly thought she didn't know how to do her job, snarky as it could be, she didn't have the time or concentration for that.

She could see through the shadows and could see the increasing number of foes. She mutters a curse and tries to push to the armory. Just as she neared it along with the rest of the group, one of the hellhounds broke through her barrier and the shadows faltered, like a light turned on and off in a dark room. She as the shadows started to fade even more the made them compact, creating a short tunnel for everyone in her group to run into the armory before she reformed the shadows into a dagger thing and threw it into the hellhound.

It didn’t quite kill the thing, seeing as it wasn’t celestial, but it did harm it. The monster sent its cry into the craze of the battle as Nisha stumbled into the armory, drained. Her arms and neck were all blacked out, and even if the others couldn’t see it, her entire legs were as well. Along will her still black eyes. The girl nearly collapsed and looked to the others, breathing heavily she asked “You guys okay? Did the thing get you?” She sounded concerned as she grabbed onto a piece of the decrepit wall and pulled herself up, leaning heavily onto it as she glanced out into the fray of the fight, it was so chaotic already.

And just like that the ground shook once again, hellhounds went flying, and another person had been added to their lovely group of misfits. Nisha tenced before hearing a very familiar statement, with that she looked away and scanned the armory for the flash of metal.

oh? sweetheart, you can't break

HIS LIPS CURLED INTO A PREDATORY SMIRK at the comment. His slanted hues curling in mischief as his muscles coiled beneath his sinewy frame. The male watching the secondary group from the corner of his eye, noting Laura handing one of her weapons to another member of the group. He snorted, letting out a rumbling hum that vibrated through his chest, gravitating to the back of his throat. Of course. He made no comment.

His attention shifting to the other with a cheeky grin. “Spoken like a true demi-god.” His voice humorous despite the feral-look he possessed. “Just don’t get killed, dumbass.” He remarked. His tone serious. He hadn’t known the male for long, but Azure hated to see something happen to the other. Stranger or not. Of course, Azure knew the male’s name, so they weren’t entirely strangers.

His darkened hues shifted to the dreadful screeches that sent Azure bubbling with the energy he so desperately wanted to release. His fingers tightening around the lengthened handle. The tips of his fingers drumming an unrecognizable tune. Here comes the fuckers. He thought with a cackle.

Azure caught sight of the harpy flapping its wings. Seriously? A fucking harpy? Apparently the assholes wanted them to die quicker. Fan-fucking-tastic. His attention flickered to Julian, lips quirking into a smirk at the comment. “Have fun with birds-for-brains.” He grumbled. Just don’t get your ass killed. He didn’t feel like scrapping off chunks of human into a coffin soon. No fucking thank you. He had enough death to last him a few more months.

His body surged forward with a wolfish snarl. His lips peeled back to reveal sharp canines that glistened beneath the light’s rays. His Hsu Quandao coiled in his grasp in preparation to swing with all his might. The male momentarily noting the secondary screech as a hoard of hellhounds came spilling out from the north. “Fuck!” His body skidded into a crouch.

“The barrier must be gone.” He huffed. “For fuck sakes.” Grinding his teeth as bouts of annoyance oozed off of his frame. His lips thinned into a grimace. Azure giving a quick glance to the secondary group. “Don’t fucking die either!” He barked to the group.

He sure as hell hoped they made it, but when was it ever that easy? Fuck. I just jinxed it, didn’t it? “Ah—Fuck.” He grumbled. The male reaching with his free hand to pinch the bridge of his nose.

He made a grunt of confirmation. He didn’t need it, but Azure didn’t think it was time to be spiteful. He didn’t need orders. He was doing just fine, damnit.

Azure didn’t waste any time to dash after the other. His body emitting a blueish hue as sparks of fire raced up his cloaked arms. The blade releasing a glow as if it was powering up, lighting up like a damn Christmas tree.

He didn’t miss the way his skin prickled with heat or the subtle pain that came with it. His lips curled downward into a grimace. The notion coming and going as quickly as it appeared. He didn’t have time to worry about the consequences of his fire. Not that he cared all that much to begin with.

“Got it, cupcake.” He muttered. His body following hot on Julian’s tail. He was quick to cover his eyes, shielding the sensitive appendages from the brightly lit orb. Bright fucker, huh? He thought. “Nice going there, pretty boy!” He shouted. The male leaping into the fray of hellhounds with a cackle. He grinned ferally.

“Who wants to die?” He let out a low guttural growl. His sharp canines digging into the soft flesh of his bottom lip. Time to shine. His darkened hues brightened a fraction at the swarm of black fur and ruby hues. Oh, how he missed this. The fighting. Not the impending doom that laid heavily on their shoulders. Fuck that.

His body weaved in and out as his Hsu Quandao made large sweeping motions. The force behind each swing sending gusts of wind. The weapon twirled in his grasp, becoming second nature as he eased into a familiar groove. His eyes paying rapid attention to the secondary group and those fighting beside him. Was it dangerous? Undoubtedly, but when had Azure ever cared about himself?

Azure grunted at the swarm. His lips peeled into a concentrated grimace. His darkened hues narrowing to fine slits. His fingers adjusted along the lengthened handle, allowing his arm to coil until he released that built of energy with a singular swing that knocked into a few hellhounds that were unfortunate enough to have been caught up in the fray.

“Go back to where you came from! Damn mutts.” He snarled. His head whipping around to stare at the newbie with a huff. Where the fuck— Azure let out a puff of air. I don’t give a shit. His head dipped in a sign of acknowledgement, but otherwise remained silent save for the grunts and growls that erupted from within his chest.

His brow raised at the mystical energy the newbie emitted. He blinked. Eh? He shook his head. His mind whirled with possibilities. Threat? Ally? Neither? Hell if he knew. “Welcome to the doomsday squad, newbie.” He barked out a laugh, appearing more insane than he actually was. His haggard appearance wasn’t helping in the slightest. “Not bad, newbie.” His head jerked to the three hellhounds the other made quick work to dispose of.

His gaze noting the blood along Bastian’s shoulder. His lips curled into a sneer at the sight. Damnit. He made a quick note to check the stranger’s wound when they weren’t overwhelmed with damn mutts and birds-for-brains.

The raven-haired male grunted at a particular hellhound ramming into his side. Its teeth narrowly missing his side as he tumbled. His Hsu Quandao flying out of his grasp. Fuck. His mind whirled, reaching to grab his scythe, but before his fingers could curl around the base of the inactive blade, he felt searing pain run along his right side.

His body arched forward at the sudden pain. His gaze widening a fraction at the hellhound’s muzzle digging into his side. Its teeth clamped tightly along the curve of his side as blood spewed from the wound. He groaned. “God fucking damnit—” He choked back a whine. His vision hazy with pain.

His body moving on autopilot to grip the hellhound’s muzzle, attempting to tear it away from his flesh without damaging it further. Of course. He just had to jinx himself, didn’t he? He grounded his teeth, ignoring the searing pain that made his vision turn white.

He could feel his palms crackle from the nitroglycerin-like substance coating his palms after holding his weapon during the heat of battle. His grin turning predatory as an explosion ricocheted him backward, pulling him away from the gaping mouth of the hellhound which collapsed, dying shortly afterward.

He groaned. His chest heaving from the sudden force as his vision faded in-and-out. His body sprawled out across the field as hellhounds surged forth. “Fucking hell.” He grunted, willing his body to roll over. It took some effort, but the raven-haired male could stand, save for the hand pressed tightly against the large bite that now adored his side. Another scar to add to the list.

Azure glanced around for his weapon, noting it lying a few feet away from where he ended up. He stumbled over to it while remaining alert for the oncoming hellhounds. He wasn’t done yet, not in the slightest. He still had a few more years left before he bit the bullet.

His body crackled with blue fire that danced along his clothing, singing the threads, but otherwise remained intact. “I look like a damn moron on fucking Christmas.” He muttered.

The nitroglycerin-like substance that coated his palms reminding him of what transpired not minutes ago. Damnit. He felt the hot sticky substance seep out of the puncture-like wounds. He huffed. Azure sweeping his trench coat to cover the bleeding wound from eyesight, save for the noticeable drips of blood that graced the ground as he walked ( stumbled ).

It didn’t take long to reach his fallen weapon, picking it up with some difficulty. His fingers curling around the familiar handle, coiling it with his unpreoccupied hand. His shoulder arching back as he swung in a semi-arc, knocking a few hellhounds off their feet with the force of it. “That the best you got, fuckers?” He taunted the hellhounds. His gaze briefly flickering to the harpy, until it landed on the second group. His heartbeat roaring in his ears, noting a few had made it to the armory. He breathed out a sigh of relief. Thank fuck.

He didn’t notice a hellhound spring forward, jaws aiming at his shoulder. His body a moment too late to shield himself from its gaping jaws as he tumbled to the ground ( again ).

YOU SAVE EVERYONE

BUT WHO SAVES YOU?

Oliver Morgan

Admiration shone bright in Oliver's eyes as he examined the craftsmanship on Laura's guns. The fine details in the barrels, well-honed rifling, and the machined smoothness of the grips.

“You’re quite the gunsmith, grumpybritches” he said approvingly, giving her a quick but gentle pat on the shoulder that was swiftly withdrawn to avoid another Legs scenario. To his surprise Laura held one of her irons out to him.

With an incredulous look Ollie took Hell's Scream carefully from the small girl, admiring the unique shape of the handgun. He had never seen a firearm like it before, more accustomed to six guns like Starfall. He spun the gun around his finger once before slipping it comfortably into the waistband of his pants. A proper holster would have been nice, but beggars can’t be choosers and they could only work with what they had on hand.

“Gotcha,” the cowboy affirmed with a lopsided smile, “I’ll treat her real good, promise”

Armed and feeling much more confident, Ollie turned back to his group. It was time for them to make their move. He watched in open-mouthed awe as Nisha pulled the shadows from the room to herself, forming a dark funnel around the armory group. It reminded Oliver of the twister that had touched down a couple miles from the farm when he was twelve. Shaking his senses back into his head, Ollie followed close behind Nisha with Hell’s Scream drawn.

Just as their group drew near to the armory one of the enormous hounds burst through the funnel, piercing red eyes flitting between Oak and himself. The shroud around them began to flicker, desperately forming a tunnel into the armory as a last ditch attempt to get everyone inside. Ollie jerked his head in the direction of the armory, raising Hell’s Scream as he did so.

“Armory, now!” he barked at Oak and Micah before going to Nisha’s side. The shadows from the tunnel were close behind, returning to their wielder at her call. With whatever power over the shadows she possessed Nisha was able to wound the beast, but not take it down entirely. Ollie fired off a volley of shots as she tumbled past him and into the armory, tagging one of the encroaching hounds in the shoulder and making two more pause in their tracks. Oliver turned to follow Nisha into the armory but froze at the sound of a piercing screech to his left.

The harpy surged towards Ollie, outright ignoring the battle team in favor of the cowboy. The demigod dove into a roll, tumbling inches underneath the claws of the swooping harpy. Hopping to his feet Oliver swung Hell’s Scream, catching the monster with a rough pistol-whip across the face and grinning widely as it brought a hand up to it's cheek. His pride was swiftly crushed though as the harpy backhanded him across his own face. Now Ollie had always been one to roll with the punches so to speak, usually that didn’t entail any literal rolling. The half-blood was sent skidding to the ground and what’s worse, one of the encroaching hounds took this opportunity to pounce on top of him. He struggled to hold the beast’s snapping jaws away from his face, nose wrinkling as the smell of the creature’s rancid breath reached his nose.

“Aw, this is going to hurt something fierce” Oliver murmured underneath his breath, squeezing his eyes shut and bracing himself as he pressed the barrel of the gun into the creature’s thick furry neck. When he pulled the trigger his world erupted into a mess of lights and screaming noise. Stumbling to his feet and trying to pick out his own thoughts somewhere behind the ringing, his eyes frantically searched for the harpy.

It didn’t take long to spot her, stalking towards him flanked on each side by one of the hellhounds. With a ragged breath and a few quick blinks to clear the spots from his vision Ollie raised Hell’s Scream level with the harpy’s head. Before his finger could so much as come to rest on the trigger a blast of wind knocked the gun free from his hand and faster than he could process that he was back on the ground.

“Now, I ain’t often one for airin’ the lungs in the presence of a lady,” the cowboy choked out as the harpy’s clawed hand tightened around his throat, “but you are one ornery bitch”

- Oak Fowlis -
He didn‘t need to be told twice.

Despite his fear of seeing the giant hellhound crashing through the tunnel’s wall—-that dog is the biggest he has ever seen!—-, Oak grabbed onto Micah’s wrist instinctually. Following orders like when his coach directed him and his teammates during track practice. “Come on!” He yelled in panic, pulling the green-haired model to run with him. Not thinking that Micah could even keep up with his fast pace, however he made sure to not let go of his wrist either should he trip. Trusting both Nisha and Oliver to be steadfast in this fight.

As the duo ran inside the decrepit armory, Oak let’s go of Micah’s wrist. Muttering an apology for how tightly he held his wrist as he scanned the place. His golden eyes adjusting quickly within the shadowed parts of the building. The walls were burnt, covered in soot and ashes. He couldn’t even tell if this place had shelves or some sort of decoration hanging on the walls, but he knew one thing. Whatever that tried to destroy this armory, couldn’t. That brought some superficial comfort for the runner. They weren’t exactly in the clear, but at least they could stay safe inside the broken armory.

A sudden and familiar chill went up his spine. His golden eyes quickly found the spirit that wanted to catch his attention. It was a disembodied hand pointing down at the rubble, giving him a hint of what to do. Then it disappeared. ‘Must have been a blacksmith of sorts.’ He thought, relieved that he didn’t have to see a whole bodied spirit this time.

“Start searching, Micah. I’ll look here.”

After a few seconds of searching and moving heavy pieces of cement around, Oak has found a worn leather chest armor and a pair of wrist and arm guards by a corner of the room. He put them on without a second thought, tightly pulling the straps with his teeth, and tucking the metal pin through the punched holes with his shaky hand. Not putting the katana down for the entirety of him struggling. Not that he was thinking at the moment. Not when his anxiety is kicking in too hard. He didn‘t know how to handle his anxiety without his meds and he left them inside the temple. He can feel the battle rumblings from the outside to inside this armory, sometimes causing the ceiling to drop some dust and small crumbled cement on his head. How does any of them deal with this? The pressure of fighting? How?

With a deep and shaky breath, Oak snapped his head to where he heard Nisha’s voice. Noticing how heavy her breathing sounded. Worried, he jogged to where she was and froze at the sight of her arms and neck. His brows flew up in surprise but said nothing about it as he looked past her to see the frenzied battle in front of them.

“We’re okay, thanks to you and Ollie.” Oak replied back, jogging towards her. He helped her up by gingerly wrapping her arm up and around the back of his neck. Supporting her weight so they can walk inside. “There’s more stuff inside. You might have to move the rocks around to find them though.” He suggested as he gently placed her down on a large piece of rubble. Then he went back to the entrance, peeking past the doorway to see how the battle was fairing—

His eyes widened. A familiar gun flew in the air by a violent gust of wind as Ollie was being pinned by the harpy. Surrounded by hellhounds. Oak found himself moving without a second thought. Mentally cursing at his feet for leaving the safety of the armory, gritting his teeth. Why is he running towards the danger?! He doesn’t know how to fight!! Yet, the morbid idea of seeing Ollie as a spirit instead of being alive made his stomach churn. He doesn’t know him well, but the guy was friendly and cheerful. He wanted to get to know him more. Maybe even become friends, he didn’t know. The possibility of that is a whole lot better than seeing him as a spirit.

One of the hounds heard his quick footsteps and leapt to the side as Oak swung the katana. Missing it. He stumbled forward from the unusual weight in his hands, his back turned to the harpy. The other hound growled and leapt to tackle him with jaws wide open, seeing it’s chance for easy prey. However the runner stomped his foot down to steady himself and spun around with all his might and weight. Screaming at the top of his lungs as he swung the katana once more like a baseball bat and managed to slice off the upper part of it’s head. A weird black smoke followed behind the katana. The hound whined as it tumbled to the ground behind Oak and barely missed Ollie and the harpy. It’s tongue hanging out with drool pooling on the dirt before it turned into dust.

Oak could barely catch his breath much less revel in his shock; adrenaline pumping through his veins as he did his best to dodge the first dog by running close to it’s hind legs. It looked like a dangerous game of cat and mice, Oak being the mouse and the hellhound the cat trying to catch him with bites and tackles. He felt desperation nipping at the back of his mind with each messy swing, aiming for the legs. The hound was smart enough to leap away whenever he did and tried to bite him. However Oak was too fast for it, always running at the right time. He can’t keep going like this for long. His arms are starting to be heavy and sore. His swings were becoming messier and the hound knows this from the way it’s starting to aim for his arms instead of his head.

If anyone thought Laura was going to try to hold the line and fight with her half brother , then they clearly had not managed to graduate from kindergarten. Laura was in no way going to help anyone, well aside from the cowboy, but well he could use her weapon so she wasn't really helping him just showing off her weapon. That was at least the justification she used and had always used when she had made equipment for others. She had seen how pathetic they were and made something to show how she could make them great she had been proving what she could do. That same desire did not extend to her half family, they were all on their own and if it meant she would get away she would not hesitate to leave them, and if it was leo she would likely actively harm his chances of surviving a fight. So Laura had not stayed with her half brother and the idiot roman she had gone with the others where she would be in less danger hopefully as the monsters would have plenty of other targets to chose from before they got to her.

While two people had guns, it seemed to Laura only she was actually bothering to use hers. Star's fall a mystical gun she had made to be the companion to Hell's scream the scalpel to it's hammer. Laura when shooting it didn't aim she just took a mental note of what monster she wanted to attack then shot. The bullets left the barrel of the gun in a silver streak that the half bloods could just barely notice. Then impossibly the streaks of silver turned, not in an arc but in sharp right turns going wildly around monsters before always diving into some until then unseen weak point. That was the function of the Star's fall, seeker bullets that sought out where the enemy was the weakest, all to make an opening for hell's scream's explosive power to follow through and kill the target. The cowboy should have killed at least a few monsters even if not the ones Laura herself wounded.

The streaking bullets kept the monsters away from Laura their minds able to realize that getting to close made then a target and whatever weakness they held would be found lethal or none. There was easier prey around the other unarmed half bloods would make for an easier kill. That was at least how laura saw it, of course when she looked to see Ollie pinned by a harpy being armed wasn't always enough to keep the stupid beasts off. The hellhounds had no self preservation, but understood pain and knew to avoid it at least. No matter the wit of the beasts or lack of it, Ollie had fucked up and failed her gun. That was really annoying if some idiot died with her weapon in hand then it was almost like she had failed at the one thing she was good at.

The harpy was busy with ollie to busy to see Laura until Star's fall was at her head and to late would it realize the mistake it had made in this life. Laura pulled the trigger and blew it's brains out with ease, it didn't require hell's scream to kill when you were point blank. " You stop fucking around i don't want my gun to get a bad name just because you are to much of a fuck up to understand how to use it. Point at the body pull the trigger don't try for any fancy shit" Laura then picked up Hell's scream " Now try again or is that to hard for you" She growled angered that somone had been so close to being killed because he was stupid and that her weapon might get blamed. With that she held out hell's scream for Ollie to take again.

When does this end?

I haven't felt like this in days!!

Julian thought to himself, as he finally felt the high that the sensation of battling gives him. The rush of adrenaline, the blood coursing rapidly through his veins, his heart racing, and his senses and reflexes sharpening every moment. This is what it feels like to be a child of Hyperion and a grandson to Mars. A devilish grin rested proudly upon his face as he was enjoying the thrill from this life or death situation. The hellhounds numbers were far more significant than theirs, but that didn't seem to faze JJ one bit. Fighting his hardest, he slices through each hellhounds who dares to enter his range. At first he started to using DayBreaker in its normal size cutting them down and even switching it's size to a dagger when he gets a bit closer to them.

But now....

Now DayBreaker was the size of a greatsword, that shined brightly like a set of high beams on a truck. The sword was reflecting the sun's sunlight right back at the hounds shortly blinding them leaving them open for a devastating slicing blow from DayBreaker. He swung the blade in a horizontal line as if the weapon's size didn't affect him, slicing through four hellhounds at once. The puff of golden dust as they exploded brought a sense of satisfaction from the young demi-titan. He let out a chuckle followed by a cocky grin. “I’m gonna damn you all back to hell!!” He declared as he spun his blade, right before swinging it into yet another hellhound that inched a bit too close in his range. There was yet another puff of satisfying golden dust as he sent another hellhound back to Tartarus. His cocky grin was getting bigger, but things were merely starting. Noticing the hounds were slowing their assault a bit, he decided to take the fight to them.

He was wrong to do that.

The demi-titan charged towards his enemies before lunging into the air, holding DayBreaker up high. His plan was to slam DayBreaker down onto his enemies; however, the hounds had other plans. As JJ was lunging through the air, another hellhound lunged at him from the side tackling it's prey. JJ let out a grunt of pain, as he collided with the hard ground. That grunt was soon followed by a painful cry, as he felt the razor sharp bite of a hellhound for the very first time. The beast had bit into JJ’s leg locking its jaw. “Arggh!!! Get the fuck off of me!” He roared pointlessly kicking at the hellhound with his other leg. This thing didn’t wasn’t planning on releasing him anytime soon. It was planning something big, something that JJ wouldn’t want to be apart of even if it was a challenge. He wanted to pull him into the shadows and bring him into an isolated place of the camp. Soon the shadows began to gather around him, and JJ's eyes widened in panic. "NO! NO!" He knew of the hellhounds technique to shadow travel from one location to another, and at that moment he knew never to get caught in it. He's battled powerful demigods with the power over darkness and the outcome was never fun. Their abilities out did his, and once he was trapped in their darkness he immediately starts feeling weak and his skin becomes icy cold. Now wasn't the time for him to become a popsicle, not with the lives of newer demigods on the line. He ceased his kicking, and held his hand out towards the head of the hellhound.

"Get the fuck off of me." He stated, glaring at the beast as the solar energy around him gathered into his palms right before releasing it. He fired a bolt of solar energy right into the hellhounds head, knocking it back finally releasing JJ's leg. The hellhound bounced across the ground, laying there briefly allowing JJ the small chance to recover. He looked around his surrounds, seeing other hellhounds inching closer planning on using this opportunity to attack him in his weakened state. "You damned hellhounds. Get the fuck outta here!" He roared at them as he managed to get himself up to at least use his greatsword DayBreaker to keep himself up. He absorbed the sunlight through his skin to secretly heal his leg wound, while still acting injured. He glanced his surroundings eyeing all the hellhound around him, and in the background he noticed a newcomer attacking the hounds with energy attacks. He had no idea where he came from but now wasn't the time to start questioning things. Now he had other things to worry about. A couple of hellhounds began charging towards him thinking he was still weak. Gripping the hilt of his sword, and spun around building momentum slicing through the charging hellhounds. The cloud of golden dust brought that satisfying feeling back once again. "I'm not dying today you damn hounds!"

He stood ready, scanning his area, as he waited for another attack. That's when he noticed it, Azure being tackled by another hound. Damnit! He thought to himself charging straight towards his comrade. Approaching the hound, JJ gathers a a ball of solar energy in his hand, before jamming it into the beast's side and releasing at point blank range disintegrating it. He turned to his comrade and held out his hand. "The fuck are you doing on the ground dawg? It's not break time yet. These things are still coming."

Information Concerning: The Battle

The hellhounds were not strong. In fact, any trained demigod could kill them with ease. The issue was the sheer number of them. The ratio of hellhound to demigod was overbearing. One wrong move and the hellhound's shadows would consume them all. Unfortunately, despite the number of enemies the group had managed to push back, the battle continued. When one was killed, two more would appear to take their place. It was a relentless fight, and no matter what the group had planned, it would all end the same - in bloodshed. This became more and more evident the longer the battle took place, and more and more questions arose. Where were these Hellhounds coming from? Who had sent them? And why were they continuing to spawn despite the quantity they had managed to kill? What was so important about the abandoned Camp Ivy that someone, or something, would put so much effort into concealing it?

Was this Axel's doing? Was it truly a trap? Only a handful of these questions would be answered, but in their place, a million more would appear. The death of the Harpy was a catalyst. In response to Laura's final strike, the ground began to shake. Violent; fierce; agitated; the earth was angry, and Gaea was angry. Anyone who had been standing was forced to their knees. The Hellhounds, which had been persistent up until this point, had dissipated into the shadows. Everything was over. The battle felt like an eternity, but in reality, lasted no more than ten minutes. And within those ten minutes, no one had been gravely injured - an achievement in itself. After a few moments, the trembling earth ceased and everything had gone still.

Then, there was silence.

An eerie silence.

The kind of silence that's far too loud.

Then a voice, one not belonging to humans or gods. A voice that bellowed and shook the earth to her core. A voice that spoke a language not familiar to anyone, yet, was understood. The translation forcing itself into the minds of its listeners, making itself known, and giving itself dominance over one's soul.

"You puny demigods." The voice echoed, "Thinking yourself capable. You're all the same."

Shadows began engulfing the camp, turning day to night and extinguishing any light source. The area was pitch black. It was suffocating. "You are nothing more than a mere pawn for the gods. Don't you see?" The voice continued, "They're using you. They care not for anything but their throne."

Within those shadows, a creature began to form. Despite the darkness that consumed everything, this creature was as clear as day. It was something dark, something sinister. Something that was neither man nor any recognizable figure on this planet. A god? No. Something far worse. Something that had yet to be described.

"Let's see how far you can get in this game. I have no desire to kill you yet." The voice grew menacing as if it enjoyed whatever pain it had caused up to this point. "Go. Go find your silly little Olympus. See the destruction I've caused, share their fear, know just how weak you truly are."

It grew harder and harder to breathe, to see, to comprehend. Everything felt confusing, this entity drove fear into your heart. You began to lose yourself, you couldn't decipher between what was real and what wasn't. Any moment your mind would snap and become sludge, a slave to whatever thing was talking.

"Hear this warning, today marks the death of Olympus and every creature who dares stand in my way." The voice began to scatter and fade, "The age of Gods and Myths is over."

With that, the shadows suddenly vanished and the sun began to shine on the group. The silence returned, a comfortable silence. Whatever entity was within their presence was gone. The enemies were gone. They were safe. The only odd thing was the Harpy, who had not dissipated.

Micah Son of Aphrodite Location: Camp Ivy Mentions: Everyone

There wasn't much for Micah to do other than offer encouragement. He had carefully followed Nisha before she was attacked. Before he could offer anything else, Oak had begun dragging him towards the armory. Micah struggled to match pace but was able to make it before anything bad to happen to the rest of them. He heeded Oak's word and began to dig through the rubble in an attempt to find something, anything, that could help push off the oncoming hoard. He was able to find a basic sword and broken-down shield, but it was enough to offer aid. I mean, he hadn't ever used a sword but what could go wrong? He had seen enough television and acted as a soldier in a very minor role, all he had to do was swing it around and hope it hit.

But what if he didn't hit? What if something had gone wrong and he was pinned down? Between him and the hellhound, it would be over for him in a heartbeat. He didn't have the courage or strength to push off that massive creature. Micah slapped his face, get it together man. There wasn't time for questioning. He had to act now or everyone else would suffer because of his inability to... do anything. During the time Micah spent contemplating his ability to fight, things had gone haywire. Before he could step foot outside the armory and contribute anything, he felt himself grow weak and fall to the ground. In an instant, the sky grew dark and a voice unknown to him began to speak.

It spoke in a way that was friendly yet terrifying. Had he known this voice? No, it was impossible. Yet, the words shared felt ever so... familiar. Once he regained some ability to move, he found himself surrounded by darkness. But not the kind of darkness when you turn off your lamp and can still make out shapes. No, it was completely dark. Yet, somehow, before him was a creature. The words continue to ring clearly, but he could not respond - either through thought or speech. But the more he sat there, the more he realized he could not think. He could not feel. And as quickly as it had come on, it was over.

Micah quickly looked around, the enemies had gone. They were safe for the time being, and everyone seemed to be in decent condition. One thing that caught him off guard was the Harpy, her body lay still on the ground. Unlike the hellhounds, which had vanished at the moment of their death, she had remained.

Normally Laura liked darkness, she had to dwell in it as much as she chose to dwell in it, but this darkness was not natural. Well what darkness that comes during the day would be? The darkness seemed to try to impose itself upon Laura and she felt like she might lose herself to her many issues she held back by her anger. Her fear of the monster, her envy of the others, her own failures each magnified by seeing what others could do. Her successes shrunk in the face of something beyond her. If the darkness had just been that , if it had remained a horror then perhaps Laura might snap in time, but it made a mistake. The darkness spoke it made known it was aware and it was foolish. Speaking as if those here were blind to the gods and their motives, that the age of monsters had passed. That was all true and any fool could see the gods of old were barely hanging on by a thread kept alive only because people knew their names and told altered forms of their stories. The world had moved far past a need for gods like those of the greeks, they no longer needed to world explained , they explained it themselves. The voice was a fool and idiot and that fueled Laura's anger. The anger she used as sword and shield and armor of contempt against the world around her. That rage burned at the idea that something would make her like the others, or like them and instead of fear she was motivated to notice things.

The voice was as much bound by fate as those here, as while it could kill them it didn't. No matter the claim it made or amusement it might claim it didn't kill them those picked by fate to stand against it and perhaps slay it. It also clearly had a personality and could think like mortals or gods so while it was not either it was understandable like them. This did keep it to the more basic pantheons, and given its seeking out the greek and roman groups it might be within them. The biggest clue, or so Laura thought, was the form it had taken and the pets it had chosen. There was a theme running through them. A name came to mind an ancient one that was both place and being. If that name was the name of the thing that had spoken to them then they would need something very powerful to cast it down. They might need to slay darkness itself and to do that they might have to talk to it's parent.

" Well looks like we got fucking put in a Saturday morning cartoon" Laura said recovering rather swiftly as she kicked the body of the harpy, that was odd as they normally atomized." Really if it wanted to give a fucking villain speech it could have plaid it all out instead of the obvious cryptic bullshit routine" Laura complained not sharing her guess at just who was behind this. " So looks like we got two choices head to new york or Hollywood" she shrugged knowing one lead to the gods, but if it was destroyed they could skip it, Laura had a plan that not even the gods could see coming.

Nisha watched with clear eyes as Oliver attacked and then got attacked, all within a very quick succession. She would need to thank him when this was all over. Her eyes flashed up to oak as he walked over to her, immediately giving her his thanks. As he helped her stand she spoke back.

"Thank you, didn't expect to do so much today" She slid away from his grip when they reached a larger piece of rubble unceremoniously as he knees buckled. But, she was feeling much better, taking deep breaths and closing her eyes for a moment. She could still hear people fighting outside of the armory but didn't dare look up to see them. But her eyes shot open without her consent when one of their ragdoll group shouted out in terror. She wished she could do something but alas, her knees were still not quite stable enough to carry her out to battle.

The demigod stood on shaking legs confidently and started to scan for some sort of shimmer, looking back to Oak. "Yeah... I don't quite see anything as of yet" She moved over and started to move things around, finding some scrap of metal laughing to herself. Nisha walked around more, ignoring most of the gunshots. That is, until the final one.

Nisha was about to move another chunk of brick and cement out of the way when the earth shook and she fell to her knees, her eyes closing for a second as a voice rung out she opened them as fast as she could and stumbled towards the open wall, not wanting to be stuck in the building if something happened. The shadows spread farther, falling over her. It looked to be the lack of everything, something she had never seen. Gears shifted and churned in her mind until the dots connected. Darkness. This is what the dark looked like. Her nightly eyes had always been able to see through the shield that the dark put on vision, but now they couldn't.

She stood there like a deer in headlights, making out a thing in the shadows, blinking furiously trying to see more than just the... thing, that spoke. As it contained the pit in her stomach grew until she felt like collapsing again. Fear consumed her, fear of the dark, fear of this thing, fear that she wouldn't be able to stop it. Her mind went to her family, would they be okay? This thing seemed like it was planning on returning them to the dark ages, would they survive? Just as her mind was about to devolve into total panic, the thing was gone, along with the shadows.

this world can hurt you it cuts you deep and leaves a scar things fall apart, but nothing breaks like a heart and nothing breaks like a heart i heard you on the phone last night we live and die by pretty lies you know it, oh, we both know it these silver bullet cigarettes this burning house, there's nothing left it's smoking, we both know it we got all night to fall in love but just like that we fall apart we're broken, we're broken

oh? sweetheart, you can't break

THE RAVEN-HAIRED MALE SNARLED, HEAD WHIPPING to stare at the hellhound that barreled into his shoulder, sending him tumbling to the ground. His head thumped against the ground sending him reeling with the impact. His breath got caught in his throat with a choked wheeze, scrambling to get his bearings with a string of curses that send the male tumbling, unaware of the snapping jaws close to his bloodied and bruised body. Mother fuck—He groaned, hand reaching to grasp his head that throbbed in tandem with his heartbeat pulsing beneath ivory skin.

His body vibrated in pain blossoming against his flesh drawing a whine from parted lips, hands saturated in the blood that gripped uselessly at his side. Damnit to hell—He winced at the bright spiral of light shooting past him, knocking the male back with a sharp hiss. The pain bubbled beneath his eyelids, fingers curling into raven locks to distract him from the pulsating heat.

He watched with hazy vision, lips tilted in a half-hearted smirk at the hellhound vanishing despite the light burning his damn eyeballs out of their sockets. He blinked up at the offered hand, lips curled into a scowl. “Fuck off.” Thanks. He sure as hell wouldn’t admit that out loud. Despite the vulgar answer, he accepted the hand without complaint, stumbling with a growl that vibrated deep within his chest. The male reached to press a hand against the bloodied wound, biting back a hiss of pain that threatened to escape past his down-turned lips.

Mason gazed down at the sanguine fluid that bubbled past his fingers, trickling down until it splattered the ground like an abstract painting, instead of paint it was the very blood pumping through his body keeping him alive. Damnit. He sunk his teeth into the sensitive flesh of his bottom lip, ignoring the blood that trickled down his temple. Duly noting that head wounds bled more. Not that he gave a flying fuck. So what if his head was bleeding? Wasn’t like he was dying. He had a decent grip on consciousness, so he’d worry about the damn thing later.

He was still breathing, wasn’t he?

His mind reeled, hand hovering over the saturated wound without a second thought. His hand flashed bright blue, flames blossoming from his palm to singe his ivory-hued flesh until the noticeable stench of burnt flesh flooded his senses. He grunted, canines digging into the soft flesh of his bottom lip to ward off the cry that threatened to spill from his throat. The pressure was enough to tear, tasting copper on his tongue. His nose scrunched up in distaste, letting out shuddering breaths until he deemed the wound good enough to where he wouldn’t bleed out all over the damn ground.

He glanced up with a sneer settled upon his bloodied lips, azure-colored hues darkening to midnight at the never-ending wave of hellhounds. “Startin’ to fucking hate these damn mutts.” He muttered. His tone wavered, a tell-tale sign he was in more pain than he let on.

His head continued to throb in tandem with the pulsating muscle trapped within his ribcage, settling behind his sternum. He grunted, reaching out to drag a hand down his face with a grin, his hand moving upward to drag the offended locks out of his eyes that bled feral. “Fuckers are in for it now.” He rumbled threateningly.

He stumbled, quick to brace himself against the trembling crust beneath his feet. His brows furrowed at the oddness, head tilted to stare at JJ until it scanned the area noting the other demigods within the vicinity. What the fuck is going on? He left out a sharp hiss, stumbling until he collapsed from the tremors, unwilling to get up to gather his bearings.

He noted the hellhounds were quick to vanish into the darkness drawing the male into a tight-lipped grimace. Fuck. He was sure as hell that this wasn’t good until the eerie silence lay over the camp like a blanket on a chilly night.

His muscles bunched up at the silence, curling into himself with a choked wheeze. His teeth gritted at the fresh coppery taste that danced along his taste buds, baring noting the deafening silence that rattled his brain. He fought back the need to clamp his hands over his ears hoping to block out … whatever the fuck it was but held back the notion with a clench of his fingers digging into calloused flesh.

His lips peeled back into a sneer at the introduction, gaze narrowing in annoyance. Punny demigods? I’ll fucking kick your ass. He remarked darkly. Asshole. He bit back a wince, hand reaching to rest over the burnt flesh of his wound that pulsed beneath the pads of his fingers.

The raven-haired male listened, unaware as the camp was enlarged in shadows, chalking it up to the bot dots that had dotted his vision. Did he pass out? For fuck’s sake—Mason bit back a hiss, having shifted slightly to press his temple against the ground, body tilted to rest on his uninjured side.

He felt himself stiffen, mind reeling with times when his mother would lock him away for days. The creeping shadows tittered on a vague sense of familiarness. He wanted to laugh. His chest constricted with each breath that slipped past his lips. The familiar feeling of being trapped weighed heavily in his mind. The foul stench of mold settled heavily in his nose until it was the only thing he could smell. He fought back the whimper that wanted to escape, fingers digging grooves into his flesh to distract himself from the god-awful memories he’d been pushing down until now.

His body tensed, teeth grinding at the unorthodox sensation that pooled into his stomach leaving gooseflesh along his exposed skin. He hated this feeling. Of feeling weak and worthless. The notion of something worse appearing in the blink of an eye fills the male with dread. Damnit. He knew damn well the Gods were using them for the sake of being selfish. His father was a prime example of outright selfishness. He wanted to laugh but held back the notion with an inaudible snarl.

You’ve got to be fucking kidding me. A fucking game?! He really wanted to tear whatever the fuck it was a new one. They weren’t some fucking toys. They were human (demigods, but who gives a fuck about that), damnit!

His body shivered despite it not being cold. His frame curled further into himself as he lay sprawled out across the ground, wishing to be anywhere but here. We’re not your damn pawns. He growled low within his chest at the thought. He was done being a plaything. He had enough of it from his damn mother.

Mason felt his breath thicken, unable to draw anything into his lungs. A wheeze slipped past his lips, choked off into a groan. Mind a whirlwind of emotions at the sudden power behind the shadow creature as its voice grew menacing. His gaze widened, his hand reaching to press against his sternum. Damnit! Stay focused!

As soon as it appeared, it vanished. The male sucked in greedy amounts of air into his lungs until he choked, shoulders quivering. He let out a bitter laugh that bubbled up from within his chest, still unwilling to get up and gather his bearings. He’d much rather let the ground swallow him whole if he didn’t have to deal with whatever mess they’d gotten themselves into. He should have known better, but what else did he have to live for? Nothing. He might as well see the damn thing through, even if he died. It wasn’t like anyone would miss him. He snorted. “Fuckin’ great.” He muttered.

His gaze shifted to stare at the white-haired demigod with a huff. “Really wanted to set the damn thing’s ass on fire.” He remarked dryly. His eyebrows furrowed, glancing at the discarded harpy with a scrunch of his nose, still unwilling to clamber off the ground. His wound pulsating in a reminder that if he did, he’d no doubt fall over like a newborn fawn trying to follow its mother.

Mason rolled over onto his back, staring up at the sky with narrowed hues. What the hell did they get themselves into? Hell if he knew, but he was damn well certain he wouldn’t mind killing the damn thing that seemed to think it was great to use them as some worthless chess pieces. “Never liked chess.” He remarked. His lips tilted into a feral grin.

He didn’t bother with anything else, opting to rest his eyes hoping to subdue the throbbing within his temple. He wished he kept a bottle of vodka on his persona. He could really go for a drink right now. “Everyone alright?” He called out, blinking several times to clear the blurriness from his vision. He didn’t notice anyone severely injured. The thought alone sent relief flooding through his veins. Damn it hurt to move.

Primordial Darkness
15a7102f0806d9faf14afcc3968f0b10.jpg
Mason's response was just what JJ expected, after his slick commit. Was it intentionally meant to be spoken aloud? Who knows, but he simply grinned as Mason took his helping hand. He was glad, his potentially new found comrade was still alive and kicking. He inspected Mason's body making sure there was no life threatening wounds he had to heal right away. All is well so far, except for the bleeding wound that was inflicted by the most recent hellhound. Jj was planning on offering his help to heal the wound, but it seemed Mason had it covered. He watched as Mason's hands began to glow a bright blue, has blue flames were emitted from his hands. JJ raised an eyebrow as he was intrigued by this site. Interesting. He thought, as Mason singed his wound closed, and the smell of burnt flesh cause JJ to crinkly up his nose in disgust. "After all this over, let me take a look at that. I should be able to fix you up better than that shit." He said pointing at it.

JJ was actually intrigued with this individual and the kind of fighting spirit he carried. He hoped the two of them survive this battle and continue on ahead fighting alongside one another. He turned away from him, keeping an eye out for other hellhounds, allowing Mason a sort of protection as he regained his composure. He couldn't help himself from chuckling as he heard Mason curse the hellhounds a couple of times. "Me and you both dawg. Let's end this shit so we can move on." JJ declared as he placed a hand on his opposite shoulder rotating his arm, as if to warm it up. Just as he was about to take a step forward, the ground began to shake violently.

"The fuck-"

JJ stumbled about trying his best to keep his balance; however, despite his efforts, he found himself collapsing to the ground on his knees. JJ began looking around frantically, noticing the hellhounds entering their shadows leaving the battlefield. "Are they retreating? The fucks going on?" He questioned. His questions were only met with complete and utter silence. Silence that was too abnormal. Silence that could draw the right person mad. Then he heard it. A powerful voice in his mind, speaking in an unrecognizable language that he surprisingly understood. It's very first sentence railed up JJ, causing him to grip the dirt beneath his hands. "Who is this?!" He said aloud, obviously angry. But then all that anger vanished, the moment he witnessed the shadows.

No....no....nooo

The shadows engulfed everything, stealing the precious light from little ole JJ. It was complete and utter darkness, and JJ was left cold laying completely still on the ground. Eyes widened from shock, as his entire world went dark. His biggest fear and weakness so easily exploited. But by who?? Who is this voice speaking down upon him and everyone around him? He couldn't draw up any conclusion, even as the voice showed itself as a dark figured. Whomever it was, it was powerful and wanted us to continue on with their original plan. But for why? Why toy with us? More questions, with little to no answers. Ending it's speech, the figured disappeared taking the shadows with it. Final free of those insufferable shadows, the sun shined brightly once again and JJ began recharging the strength he lost. Slowly getting himself together, he simply rolled over and laid stretched out on his back. "Worse...first day of camp...ever." He said to himself.

Hearing the voice of Mason, JJ responded with a thumbs and said, "Yeah...I just gotta recharge. The darkness and I don't get along." A tad bit oversharing, but he wasn't thinking straight anyway. He then heard Laura speak mentioning both New York and Hollywood. He knew what lies in both of those locations; however why would the second option be on that table? What did she know? "Hollywood?! The fuck we going there for?" He questioned, slowly forcing himself to sit up. He looked around, noticing everyone seemed to be okay, before locking eyes with Laura. "Ain't the plan for us to go to Olympus? That's where we'll find Axel and get the answers we need right? So why hollywood? What do you know snowflake?" JJ asked, pointing at Laura.

Laura rolled her eyes already annoyed at being called snowflake, but lacking the energy to get really mad after facing that shadow. The Roman either didn't know what was there or didn't think beyond the next step of things. Laura wouldn't tell anyone why she really wanted to go there , bit she had a few excuses the others might buy.

" Am I the only one paying attention. Olympus is likely fallen and axel is likely dead. Now listen closely Olympus has fallen Olympus. " she said emphasizing Olympus " that's where the olympian gods are. Hades, thanatos, kore, hecate, they are cthonic gods their home is in the underworld. If Olympus is already reduced to cinders or more likely consumed by darkness, then we can skip there and get the other gods on alert. " she explained though she might need a bit more to get them to go " and if not the gods there might be an ally I can't name there" she finished not wanting to reveal what she wanted there.

THE RAVEN-HAIRED MALE GROANED, ROLLING ON HIS SIDE with a wince, hand reaching to tentatively poke at the burnt flesh, nose scrunching up into a grimace. The bleeding stopped mostly. He mused, glancing at his second wound with furrowed brows, contemplating whether he wanted to burn the fuck out of it, but ultimately decided on dealing with the damn thing later.

His azure-tinted optics flickered to stare at the two with a deadpan expression, brow quirked at the mention of Olympus and Hollywood. What the fuck are they talkin’ about? He huffed, pinching himself for being distracted. Fucking hell.

He’d kill for some alcohol right now. Hell. He’d drink whiskey even! And that shit tasted terrible.

Azure optics blinked several times, glancing over at JJ with a critical eye, lips curled into a frown. The male made a quick mental note of the comment from earlier, wondering if he should be a nosy little fucker and asking what the other meant. Not now, of course. If they didn’t fucking die first.

Mason rolled to his feet with a strangled noise in the back of his throat, teeth gritting as he reached to drag a hand through his hair, ignoring the way it pulled at his wound. He huffed out a laugh, shaking his helm seconds later letting out a painted grunt. “Fuck.” Damn, he felt like shit. He muttered, body curling into itself as he pressed a hand against the singed flesh. “Damn mutts.” He scoffed. Next time I’m burning those fuckers and turning them into fucking hotdogs.

His hand tentatively shifted to grasp his shoulder, biting the sensitive flesh of his bottom lip, preventing him from spewing out a load of curses. Damn. His hand shifted to conceal his side wound, glancing up at the two with furrowed brows.

Mason noted the obvious distrust cupcake oozed until his azure optics flickered to his half-sister. The conversation was still muddled, but things made sense the more he listened. He grunted, straightening up with a hand on his uninjured hip. They either went to Olympus or Hollywood. What’s the big deal? No doubt Olympus was trashed. Hollywood seemed the likely option, but why the fuck was ghosty here insisting they go? He frowned, leaning heavily into his uninjured side, arms crossed loosely over his chest.

“We have nothing else to lose.” He remarked with a shrug. “Other than—” waving his hand with a scowl “Olympus going to shit and whoever the fuck that was.” He huffed, mentioning the strange entity that appeared not long ago. Mason shifted his stance, glancing at the two with a deadpan expression. “We’re fucked either way.”

He glanced at JJ, his brow quirked in question. “You comin’ cupcake?” The raven-haired male tucked his hand into the pocket of his ripped trench coat. He was still a spectacle, especially after she half-heartedly mentioned knowing someone that could help. He let out a grumble, ignoring the way his wounds pulsated in tandem with his heartbeat. His vision blurs around its edges, causing him to stumble a few centimeters. The taller male righted himself with a shake of his head.

“So. How the fuck are we getting there? Anyone got a car or are we gonna have to steal from some unfortunate soul?”
