In terms of professions and status, there is only one finite position. There can only be one Shinigami to start with, which has already been claimed. The following are suggestions to make the plot flow more smoothly as most of you will be meeting either through predetermined relations, investigative interaction or via pure chance. You may pick from these or suggest your own, but I will be limiting it to only two of each. Variety is key!

Full Birth Name: Margot Wright

Aliases/Nicknames: Bants (blog name)

Age: 23

Profession/Status: Journalist who’s kept on a tight leash about what she can write about. She also runs an anonymous blog where she writes the facts as she finds them and her opinions to try to sway the public opinion. Comfortable but not overly so. She can afford the necessities with a little leftover, but she’s keeps luxuries to a minimum so she can pad her savings.

Personality: Margot is more of an observer by nature, but she has always had very strong opinions. She tries to keep a level head at her job in hopes of progressing, but she gets fiery when she’s not treated with respect. She has a soft spot for weaker things like children or animals but is extremely judgmental towards adults.

Background: Margot was an only child born to Christopher and Mary Wright to whom she is now estranged. She grew up poor with an alcoholic father and fairly distant, breadwinning mother. Her father was unable to hold down a job due to his issues with sobriety so her mother was the only income they received although her father would drink away most of the money. In drunken stupors he would often be aggressive towards Margot and her mother and would shout abuse to try to drag them down to his level. They would often barely make it by and would move often. These circumstances growing up led Margot to become obsessed with saving money so she would never have to go without and to have zero tolerance for disrespect of any kind. She highly valued feeling safe since she never had that feeling growing up so she keeps her online security and flat security fairly tight, always triple checking the deadbolt within the first ten minutes of being home. Margot’s blog where she operates under the alias Bants is the most important thing to her. She uses this blog to leak information she’s told to keep quiet at her job and give people the cold, hard facts as well as freely write her thoughts which often contradict on some level with what the media is trying to skew public opinion towards. Her blog is slowly gaining more popularity as she gains credibility which makes her feel like she has more power and control in her life. Her goal is to one day be the most popular new source while maintaining her alias and privacy.

Skills/Talents: Margot is an extremely talented writer with a strong sense of justice. She’s fairly good at flying under the radar and has a strong work ethic which helps her gain information. She also has a fairly decent ability to fake her way through situations with false bravado and confidence.

Weaknesses/Drawbacks: Margot has a lot of personal issues that shake her up and leave her feeling fairly unhinged if something threatens her feeling of safety and control. While she is good at faking things for a short time, she starts to crack if it goes on for too long. She has severe trust issues so putting herself in a potentially vulnerable place can cause her to slowly crack. Since she’s not very social, she doesn’t have a lot of friends although her job as a journalist does provide her a decent sense of credibility that can gain people trust as well as some decent connections, but that can only get her so far.

Misc Info: She gets minor episodes of PTSD if something feels threatening to her. Her highest priority is herself and her feelings even if she does have soft spot for certain things although deep down she desperately wishes to have some level of connection to another person but she doesn’t know how to go about making it happen.

Profession/Status: Professional Assassin and Underworld Associate (handles an array of business affairs for members of the upper class)

Nationality: Japanese

Personality: Miko, despite what her profession might make one assume, is actually a very laid back person. She loves to laugh and spend time among other people, even if she doesn't really let people in enough to consider them friends. She enjoys her work, and takes pride in being one of the best assassins in Britain. Her humor tends to be quite dark and sensual, which doesn't really surprise anyone. However, should anyone be stupid enough to insult her, they will quickly discover that she is a very, very dangerous enemy.

Background: Keomi grew up in Osaka, Japan with her older brother Nishiki. Her parents died before she was old enough to remember them, so she viewed her brother as a sort of father figure. He worked constantly to support the two of them, even dropping out of school so he could afford to pay for his sister's education. This lead Miko to work extremely hard in school, graduating with some of the best marks in her year. Not long after she graduated, however, her brother was killed by a local crime lord for his debts (which Miko had not been aware of). This lead to her becoming involved in the criminal underworld as she hunted for information about her brother's killer. When she discovered how dangerous the man truly was, she decided that her best option for avenging Nishiki would be to have the man assassinated. It did not take her long, though, to realize that the man was untouchable and that no one in the country would dare to go against him. Determined to see the man dead, Keomi traveled to London, where she met an assassin named Edward Yang. She learned that the man was considered the most dangerous assassin in the country, and begged him to train her. After some convincing, the man agreed and took the young woman under his wing. In only a few years, Miko became a respected figure among the city's criminal network and is now known throughout the London as The Scarlet Lotus (or just Lotus for short). She hopes to return to Osaka soon in order to finish what she started, but something has changed in London, and it might very well put everything at risk.

Skills/Talents: Trained in multiple forms of hand to hand combat, as well as sharpshooting, Knife throwing, and several tradition forms of Japanese combat. She is extremely intelligent, and speaks several languages (Japanese, Korean, English, and a little Russian). In order to keep her body flexible and fit, she takes regular dance lessons and pole-working classes.

Weaknesses/Drawbacks: Revenge can make for an excellent motive, but it can also cloud one's judgement. Miko is extremely quick to take insult and had a nasty habit of holding grudges. She finds it very difficult to forgive and it takes a lot to earn her trust. For this reason, she often refuses help from others. Among the usual, silly fears (spiders, drowning, etc.), Miko has a crippling fear of tight spaces that has been with her since early childhood. She has no idea what caused her to have such a horrible phobia, but it is the one thing she cannot handle.

Extra : Miko maintains a network of contacts throughout London in order to keep up to date, and this includes several sources within Scotland Yard. She tends to keep herself distanced from these particular contacts, though, communicating primarily through go-betweens or burn phones.

Personality: Azani is a little bit odd when compared to others of her kind as she finds the lights and colors of the human world far more interesting than the decay of her home and the humans entertaining. Azani can be called rather childish in her behavior not really taking responsibility and being about as easy to bribe with sweets or promises of entertainment as a child. This behavior however can easily fall and reveal something far more twisted a person who views humans like one dose characters in a show or movie. They are interesting but in the end they don't really matter and their lives are only good for entertainment. Azani has a love for candied apples, they are the best thing to bribe her with, and a distaste for anything sour.

Background: There is not much to say Azani like all reapers has lived in the shinigami realm killing humans to live longer. She has from time to time bothered to leave the dead realm of her home to go to the human one when bored though often she would do a little work while she was there. With how the realm of her kind never really changes there is little to say for the centuries if not millennia spent there doing little more than watching humans or doing pointless activities. It goes without saying anyone not insane with any ounce of curiosity would become somewhat captivated by the bright world of humans and might conspire to go there for more than work. Thus feeling the boredom of the realm of the shinigami overwhelming her Azni dropped her death note to earth in hopes of having some fun for a longer period of time.

Weaknesses/Drawbacks: Azani can be easily bribed by candied apples, she is bound by the laws of the shinigami, can be tempted by promises of excitement

Misc Info: Azani is only 4'7" tall she has several snakes in her hair and snake like eyes and has scales that appear and disappear at random though during highly emotional periods they can cover her body.

Personality:
Father Bennett is an ambitious man, and often has a lot on his plate. He is tuned into the needs of others and acutely aware of human suffering, making him an excellent practitioner of ethos, pathos, and logos. Ethos, being moral character, pathos, being emotion, logos, being reason. He is optimistic, power driven, and intuitively seeks opportunity for improvement in businesses and in operations. He prefers to focus on ideas and concepts rather than facts and details, a natural cold and caculated big picture thinker. He is not quick to say so, but is sensitive to feedback, both positive and negative. He not only expects the best from himself, but his followers as well. His domineering energy allows him to take charge of a situations, and guide individuals towards those activities and experiences which will help them learn and grow in the path of his choosing. Despite his declaration of belief in a higher power, he does not believe in a god above, but believes himself to be a kind of god along with his followers.
Background:
Father Bennett grew up in a classic American home - along with a narcissistic mother, an absent father, and an abusive brother. His brother would take out his frustrations on Father Bennett as a child, because his mother had chosen him as the golden child of the family and in turn neglected the other. It was something she had done on purpose. His brother admits he belives, in part, that the reason he had been treated differently than himself was because Father Bennett and his mother were in fact very similar. Eventually, the additional abuse from his mother became not only emotional but physical. Father Bennett, in his adolescence, attempted to get help for the situation but was not believed, and so eventually he stopped talking about it, and in turn he too began to believe a lie.
Skills/Talents:
Some of his skills include motivational speaking, the art of persuasion, physical combat, and philosophical debate. His followers, the Communion of Alacritus, reside in a compound in which they are not allowed to contact the outside world without the permission of Father Bennett. Father Benett has been accused of psychologically manipulating his followers into allowing him access into their bank accounts as well as relieving his followers of their state identification cards, driver’s licenses, birth certificates, SSN, and mobile devices. Father Bennett, however, has wormed his way out of all these allegations, stating his followers relieved themselves of these things out of their own will and may reclaim them at any time.
Weaknesses/Drawbacks:
Father Bennett possesses a grandiose sense of self-importance and exaggerates achievements as well as abilities. He is preoccupied with dreams of unlimited power, success, and love. He bears the belief that he is of special or high status and can only be understood by similar people or should only associate with those people or institutions and has a need for excessive admiration. As a result, he expects favorable treatment or compliance. He exploits and shames vulnerable followers to achieve personal goals, and though outwardly he claims to be empathetic, he lacks empathy regarding the needs and feelings of others, even his followers. In addition, he is intensely envious. Envious of others, and think others envy him.

The Communion of Alacritus was founded in Pennsylvania in ten years ago. Now, it has spread to other parts of the world like a disease. Followers flock to the Communion of Alacritus. Ten years ago, Father Bennett had a dream. In his dream, he had foreseen that there would be a strange sickness which would cause nonbelievers to exhibit heart attacks and other various ailments out of nowhere and die. When his prophesy was fulfilled, some were stricken with hysteria and began to flock to the Communion of Alacritus, out of fear if they did not submit to Father Bennett and his holy men, they too would be next to die.

Personality: Xander isn’t what one would call antisocial. He enjoys company, and leads what most would call a normal life for most of his days. His job, however, brings him to places he enjoys more. The local police station knows him well, as they let him see some cold case evidence from time to time for inspiration for his books. He also is well-read in the recent happenings in the world, especially those involving murder. He is intrigued by it, which is one of his main reasons for writing stories about, always trying to see the act of killing from a different angle.

Background: Xander grew up in a fairly normal family, it being his brother, mom, and their dog. He wasn’t told about his father until he was about to leave for university, when his mother told Xander that his dad had been murdered. This planted itself deep into his brain. Maybe he wanted vengeance, maybe he wanted to find his dads killer, or maybe Xander just became incredibly interested in the act of crime after hearing this. He excelled with flying colors over his major in criminology and English, got a part time job as a department store employee, and bought himself a small flat and a desktop to write with.

Skills/Talents:

• Fiction: Someone who creates scenarios like Xander is incredibly inept in the art of making things up, be it a simple story or lying on the spot and making it believable.
• Deep Diver: Research is an authors biggest tool, so he knows quite a few useful sites to go to that have information that may not be that mainstream.
• Friendly Fire: He’s good friends with the local police because of his interest in the line of work and cold cases that they allow him to look at.
• Resourceful: For a college graduate with a job at a department store and a career in freelance writing, he knows how to use his resources effectively.

Weaknesses/Drawbacks: His family. His brother is in college now, and his mother still lives in their Victorian family home. He misses them a lot, but he has work to do.

The only other thing is possibly his self-esteem. Many call him crazy because of his strange interest in crime, thus his reason for a pen name.

Misc Info: He’s released seven books so far, all with pretty positive reviews. Though none bestsellers just yet.

Skills/Talents: Trey is well fit with frequent trips to train his pole dancing and yoga once per week (per activity), and goes often flies back to the United States where he goes to the firing range. Trey is also known to do well at seducing people, specifically men, into doing things for him. Trey can also speak English, and French fluently. Finally, through his sponsors Trey has a plethora of contacts in both sides of the sun.

Weaknesses/Drawbacks: While Trey have a lot of money and connections through his work, he has no practical skills with his lack of a degree.

• Amazing memory although being bad at real life deductions, he is very good at remembering every detail listed in the book.
• Good grades as long as he don't overthink, he is surprisingly smart
