Dead west OCC

Name: Cole Ward

Age: 19

Birthday: August 12, 1846

Gender: Male

Nationality: Caucasian

Personality: Cole is a rather optimistic individual, with a true passion for what he does. He's always wearing a smile, and makes friends rather easily. Despite that, he's taken it upon himself to be the 'left hand of justice' wherever he decides to go. He's become somewhat famous in a few regions for having been one of a group of four who took out an entire gang of valley-encamped bandits.

History: Despite his happy-go-lucky nature, Cole has not lived the luckiest life that one could lead. Cole, in his early years, lived with his mother and father at a fueling station for the railroads. As a young boy of 7 or 8, bandits killed his father and mother in an attempt to burn down his house. Cole still isn't particularly sure why the altercation had occurred, or even who the bandits were in the first place. What is certain, however, is that a leak in a fuel reserve, along with an unlucky path of the fire, put Cole directly into a puddle of burning oil. By some miracle he was able to make it out, but at a pretty large cost to himself. He was not only blind in his left eye, but he couldn't move his arm but a little. He did not get burnt down to his legs, lucky enough, though that wouldn't count for much when he hardly had the strength to stand in the first place. He crawled into a nearby town over the course of the next day or two, almost starved and having had several relatively close brushes with wildlife. Seeing a burnt and dying child, the people of the town did their best to get him back to good health. By the ages of 9 to 12, he stayed in that town, doing odd jobs and working on becoming like the cowboys of relative legend. By the time he was 13, he was off to become a bounty hunter, like those he'd heard so much about. Business was rather slow until he was 14, when he and a sheriff's department (That being the sheriff and his two deputies) tracked down and ended the reign of a group of some twenty-five bandits entrenched in a nearby valley. He continued on then, in a far better practice of finding and catching outlaws, until he was 15. At which point, he willingly joined the Union army. He hadn't really ran into more than a few slaves himself, and those he had seemed nice enough folk to at least try and fight for. Besides, the Confederates looked a bit like the bad guys, what with being the aggressors and all. So he joined up, ran his tour, and by some luck made it out with his life. After this, he was more than happy to take back out West at Lincolns request, with the intention of stopping some true evil.

Skills: He's a crack shot, though his viability in melee combat is average at best. His true weakness, however, is horseplay. He's always been awful with animals, despite his best efforts. The lack of two arms to effectively steer with has effectively crippled his ability to have any sense of precision in his riding. He is, however, quite charismatic, despite his badly scarred left side.

Equipment: Cole is the proud owner of a 1960 Colt Army Revolver. He wears it on the left side of his belt at all times, with assorted pouches on his right, each with a component used to reload the beast. He also carries with him a boot knife, though he hardly ever uses it.

Relationships: At this point in his life, he has no true relationships to anyone other than himself. He's made a good few friends on his travels, to be sure, but there's no one that truly stands out to him. No offense to anyone he's met, it's just they were all such nice people and he can't quite decide which one of them is the nicest... Well, most of them were nice people.

Other: Cole's calm blue eyes and dark brown hair are quite detracted from by the large patch of scarring over the right side of his face. His right eye socket droops slightly, and the pupil of the eye itself is a light grey. Past that, he wears a large piece of cloth like a cape to cover his right arm, which was inflicted with similar scarred over burns.
