Backstory: Aphrodite came from a poor household. Her father was disowned for marrying below his means and because of this he was cut off from the family wealth though her aunt would often send her father money. Her parents had an older brother and two children afterwards, but her mother died in childbirth when she was three-years-old, delivering her twin siblings. Life was a struggle for the small family but her father met someone else who stepped in as surrogate mother to the children, eventually her stepmother and father had three children of their own. When Aphrodite graduated high school, she took a gap year where she went overseas in the Peace Corps. At nineteen she moved back home and went to the local college, majoring in journalism though she always wanted to be an author. Four years later she had graduated college with a bachelor in journalism and moved to New York, wanting a chance to see the big city and convinced with foolish dreams that she could make it big. She ended up getting a job in a small newspaper company but it was barely enough to keep her afloat. When she met Collin, she thought that her life would change. He was rich, intelligent and handsome. More importantly, he encouraged her in her dreams. They had an affair for a year before she got pregnant with Aphrodite. It was then that Collin showed his true colors and when her daughter was born, he signed his rights away and told her to never contact him again. Aphrodite was devastated. She continued to do her best to raise her daughter on her own, but the dream of making it big had faded, a combination of life and finances forcing her to move to a small town in Kansas. Her aunt gave her money for the trip and told her to find inspiration abroad so she packed a bag for herself and Laura, setting off for new sights and maybe a chance at love.

Appearance: She has brown eyes and yellow tan skin as she is half British and half Korean. She carries her mother's Korean accent and is soft spoken with a contralto voice. Mai's hair is straight and is a rich chestnut brown color that falls to her shoulders with a slight wave in it.

Backstory: Laura's mother was the mistress of a wealthy businessman who often traveled, her mother a struggling writer who was trying to get her feet wet in the journalism world. When she was born, the man wanted nothing to do her mother or the child he had helped create, signing away his rights to Laura at birth and walking out of their lives. Since then she's been raised by her mother, her mother getting this trip from her mother's wealthy aunt on her grandfather's side and the mother-daughter team a chance to see the world.

One was a heart surgeon, another one is a Marian Biologist of world renown, and the third is a best selling author. Her parents exopecyed her to follow in someone's footsteps, but instead she went with someone a little less orthodox of her family, and joined the military right outta high school. She graduated valedictorian, and could have really done anything with her life, but decided to spend her life defend her country. She only spent six months training, finishing as the best cadet they had, and was sent off to Iraq. Her first tour was two years long, and when she came home, there didn't seem to be anything wrong with her. Notmally, you'd expect PTSD to some degree, but not her. Her year back home was spent in more training so by the time she was sent out to Afghanistan, she was put with a sniper team. Eliza has over 100 confirmed kills to her name. Her second your ended only a month ago, and so her parents paid for her to go on a cruise in order to relax.

Eliza carries herself like a solider, had a soft spot for kids, and really doesn't like takin shit from anybody.

Accepted! Just to remind you though - seeing as your character has a military background - no characters start with weapons. And death is possible in this RP if the odds are stacked against you.
