I'm interested in creating an RP set in DC's current Rebirth continuity, though with a one year's gap having changed a lot around and, in the process, a lot of pre-Flashpoint concepts have been brought back to the surface. If you don't understand these terms, or don't have the greatest grasp on comic lore in general, that's no problem. All I ask is that you have a solid grasp on your chosen character, and are happy to ask questions in order to understand what's going on. No one is going to judge anyone for knowing less than themself.
It will be, at first, an open world RP. I've got quite a few concepts set out (that'll I'll list below) but otherwise feel free to build on this universe! Though please take note that everything up until Flash #50 is canon, and everything you change must have happened in between now and the point we pick up on. Anyway, I'll be introducing different threats and challenges for different teams and individual characters to take on, and as time passes a bigger, looming threat will rise that unites all heroes in battle. Hopefully that will be a while away; I want this roleplay to last a year or so.
Before we go into what I've so far planned for the universe we'll be playing in, I'm just going to go over a few necessities. Only heroes or anti-heroes are playable. The Gotham City Sirens are the only exception to this rule. I will accept ocs, but only if the player also takes on a canon character. There's to be only one oc per player. There will be no reservations for characters, though a WIP character sheet (if I consider it up to par) will be acceptable. Two characters minimum, five max. If you don't know much of what's going on the current DC events, feel free to ask and I expect that other players, or myself, answer. Finally, please be prepared to write a minimum of a paragraph. I expect two paragraphs on average.
On with the show:

The Justice League is called away in their entirety to take care of an intergalactic threat. This threat develops quickly into an all out war, and the League is on the front lines. Contact is quickly cut off from Earth; psychic links are not safe, and transmissions are traceable. They don't want this threat casting it's eyes towards their planet. It's not until almost a year later that they're able to return. That is where this roleplay will begin.

In the absence of the Justice League, and no word on when they may be able to return, many former sidekicks and Teen Titans joined together in order to protect Earth. They took control of the Watchtower, and their familial nature soon had Earth's citizens looking up to them. When their former mentors return, though, these heroes are expected to return to their less glamorous former standards. Many of them take issue in this, as does much of Earth's population. The Justice League abandoned them, they believe, but the Titans have been protectors since the beginning.

After Bart Allen returned from the speed force, he found Tim Drake and Stephanie Brown (who were already investigating the different timelines) and the three of them worked to find Cassie Sandsmark and Conner Kent. With the accidental help of another attack from Superboy Prime, they managed to pull the two into Earth-0 with them. Since this occurrence a month has passed, and the five have formed a team they call 'just us'. Due to exposure to multiversal anomalies, Tim and Stephanie have each begun to struggle with clashing memories from their current and pre-Flashpoint selves. Conner and Cassie, meanwhile, are distraught that their families have forgotten them, and Bart's just trying to hold things together.

After the chip in her spine is hacked, the Birds of Prey have to forcefully stop Barbara Gordon from going on a killing spree. In the process, Dinah Lance destroys the chip and the muscle around it, ending any chance of it working again. Confined to a wheelchair, Barbara once again takes on the name Oracle in (ironically) memory of Gus Yale. She decides that Cassandra Cain, who she's been tutoring, deserves to continue the Batgirl legacy. Though ecstatic to hold the bat symbol, Cass isn't so happy with Dinah, whom she blames for Barbara's state. This doesn't help Dinah's own self loathing, which has developed since the incident. It has been three months.

After the roster of the Teen Titans fell to shambles, Jon Kent was the one who set things back into motion. Still upset that he had been rejected, he decided he wanted the team to not be a place for teenagers only, but a safe haven for all young heroes; one that became especially necessary when the Justice League disappeared. He used the team name that Damian (who had been told by Tim, who had been told by Bart) said the original Superboy had been a part of: Young Justice. Jon initially tried to lead the team, but after that fell to pieces he relinquished control once again to Damian Wayne. The roster grew rapidly; after Jair and Irey West escaped the speedforce (each of them once again connected to it, though Jai remains slower) they were each directed to the team by a Wally West, excited for them to learn with others their age. After Superboy Prime's attack a month ago, a young Mar'i Grayson was also released into Earth-0 and was quickly shunted to the team by her alternate universe parents.

After his attempted murder of Penguin, Jason Todd was once again cut from the Bats. He was very nearly cut from the Outlaws too, but they healed. The three original members would grow closer after the Justice League left, as the overworked Titans found themselves trusting the three with more and more, especially as Artemis' ties with Donna Troy grew. Despite the trust the team has found themself with, the last time the Justice League saw them they were less than savoury. This will be a plot point.

After the failed marriage, Catwoman is approached by Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. They proposed a heist, a final one to celebrate the three of them going straight. Catwoman agrees. They don't go straight. The rush of a heist is too much for the three of them, and the team up reminds them all of better times. They become a team of robbers, and social rights activists who work through less than legal means. They do, though, have a rule against killing. After Superboy Prime's attack, the dynamic of the team is changed when a certain Helena Wayne makes her way to Earth-0. Disheartened to find her father is gone, she instead goes to her mother; Selina Kyle. Helena tells the three of them of her own world, a world she's desperate to get back to. And just like that this team of villains has a slightly heroic purpose. It's since been a month

After Green Arrow left, and Black Canary dedicated herself to BoP due to guilt, Emiko Queen was left to fend for Star City herself. Within a week she was approached a man in his twenties, who claimed to be her nephew. Conner Hawke, after proving he was the child of Oliver Queen, would take up the mantle of Green Arrow alongside Emiko's Red Arrow. A month after that they were greeted with yet another new face, a girl about Emiko's age. Mia Dearden would become Speedy, and the trio worked together in protecting Star City.

The absence of Superman has managed to bring the Supers closer. Kara has taken over as the main protector of Metropolis, with Jon her sidekick. The newly returned Conner was accepted by the pair, alongside Lois. Though things between them are still awkward, Conner has been invited to quite a few dinners in Smallville. Even Bizarro has proven himself to the family, after almost sacrificing himself for the young Jon Kent.

Dick Grayson has taken over the protection of Gotham, though still under the alias Nightwing. Jason Todd's ties with them have grown, and Dick, Tim, Duke, Damian, Stephanie, Cass and Barbara have all grown close in their efforts to keep Gotham safe. Kate Kane, meanwhile, has left the Batfamily completely. After getting her third strike, achieved by protecting Jason from Bruce and defending his actions, Bruce demanded she drop the Bat icon. Despite having already planned to, Kate decided to keep the Batwoman name out of spite. She left Gotham and picked up ties with the military, and now works as an ambassador between Earth's heroes and military. Azrael now acts as a mentor for the Bats, quelling arguments between the opinionated team before it can affect Gotham.

Since the disappearance of Wonder Woman, the Wonders have also grown closer. The bond between Donna and Artemis grew substantially as the two began to realise they had more in common than expected. Unfortunately, the newly returned Cassie hasn't had the same luck. Despite Artemis deciding she trusts girl, Donna is less convinced.

All other Flashs have managed to return from the speedforce throughout the year. Wally has been ecstatic to be the sole Flash once again, despite his worry for Barry. Despite his relationship with Linda having moved forward wonderfully, he understood that to throw alternate universe children at her would be cruel. As a result, the twin speedsters are having to ignore their mother, and it's tearing them up inside. Jay Garrick, meanwhile, is concerned for the lack of the Justice Society. He's been asking around for knowledge, with the help of Max Mercury, and has recently been directed towards to Gotham City Sirens. Bart and Wally II have grown surprisingly close, despite the latter fearing Bart would want the Kid Flash name back. All Speedsters are currently in action.
