Fandom DBZ inspired RP needs new characters!!

Kyero

Three Thousand Club
Hey guys, Kyero here.

Don't let the "detailed" marker up there scare you too badly. The RP itself is highly detailed with all the information I've put into it to make it function, but the IC posting section is being treated as a "Casual" experience.

I'd like you to be as detailed as possible, but by no means do you have to keep up with my frequent mini essay length posting style. That's just me. So long as you can get the point across in one to two paragraphs plus some dialogue whenever appropriate, then you'll be just fine in this RP. But again, I'd like you to try to be detailed whenever possible.

Anyway, on to the details!

This RP takes place in a parallel universe where the Saiyan Race is the only held over item from the original Dragon Ball lore. There are no Namekians, no Androids, no Bio-Engineered lifeforms, no Future Warriors, no Dragon Balls, nada. Not even humans or the Earth are going to play a role in this RP aside from an occasional mention in passing.

This RP is all new and focuses exclusively on the Saiyan Race, hence I'm asking you to take the role of a Saiyan. Also the RP treats the Saiyan Race very differently than the original lore including the following items:

* The Saiyan Race has a genetic limit on their power and cannot continue to grow to new heights as in the anime/manga. Once they've hit their limit, they never grow more powerful than that for their entire lives.

* The Zenkai is not initially present though it does exist deep in the Saiyan's genetic makeup and can be unlocked later. No characters will start with the Zenkai unlocked, period. It must be unlocked via interaction with my characters.

* The Class System is set in stone due to point number 1, the genetic limit. Wherever your character's power stops growing in their life, that's the role your character play in Saiyan Society. For those of us in the main cast this won't be a problem, but for Saiyan Society this is a rule and not a suggestion or a guideline and it never changes since they don't have the Zenkai.

* Saiyans are not initially capable of sensing energy, and must be taught how to do so by one of my characters IC.

* Saiyans are not initially capable of hiding the full extent of their suppressed power from a Scouter or other power reading device, and must be taught how to do so by one of my characters IC.

With these points in mind, I want you to be aware of the solution to these seeming restrictions as well as be aware of a few other facts about the RP that you should know going in:

The Genetic Limit is broken once the Zenkai is unlocked via interaction with one of my characters IC (namely Era who will happily help your character unlock their Zenkai). Once taught how to feel out and release the Zenkai capability from deep within their genetic code, your character will be free to train and battle to ascend to heights previously unimaginable so long as their power increases are in keeping with the details regarding character power ups in the Mechanics Page.

When your character begins this RP, they must be a Low Class Saiyan meaning their maximum power level according to their genetic limit cannot exceed 2,000 points. That is the absolute maximum you are allowed to start with, no exceptions, and you must begin building from there.

To answer the question that's passing through your mind, yes, you will be playing catch up to those of us who have been here since the start. If it sounds unfair, it's not. Everyone who's involved started with a maximum allowed power of 750 max and none of us went that high. We all worked hard to get where our characters are, so you can do the same and we'll call that fair.

This may seem like it's rigged or stacked against you, but it's not. It's just the way the RP works with you coming in at this point in time.

For those with an ego this will be incredibly frustrating and seemingly unfair, but to those who know how to set their ego aside and play the RP for what it is these details won't be a problem. In fact these details open you up to more opportunities for character growth, development, and relationships which is far more important than raw power level.

This RP will always... always... have differences in power. There is no such thing as "equality" among the cast. Someone will always be the strongest, someone will always be the weakest, and everyone else will be in the middle. That's just the way it goes in the Saiyan Race.

If you cannot handle the idea of not being equal in raw power level to the rest of the cast, then your ego is taking control and you should check yourself right now before continuing to read on.

Power level means very little in this RP despite the DBZ inspired mechanics. What's really important is who your character is and what they can bring to the RP as a whole. Your character's raw power level is only one small part of who they are, but if you think that power level is everything and get upset (or already are upset) at the idea of not being the strongest or at least equal to everyone else right off the bat, then I highly advise that you stop reading and find another RP to join.

I know it sounds harsh of me to say it like that but this is how I weed out those players with an ego and make sure the RP finds the kind of players it deserves who will see it through to the end no matter where their characters stand in terms of raw power level and who can enjoy and appreciate the RP for what it is and make the most of what it has to offer. Players who value respect, creativity, and fun factor over power level are the kinds I'm searching for.

The RP is designed so that eventually all characters will have their time in the spotlight as the most powerful among the group. Have patience and your time will come. It all depends on how you play and how you decide you want your character to grow over time in the RP.

Hopefully these points and rules haven't put you off too badly. I am a relaxed and friendly GM despite how stiff some of the above text may have sounded. So long as you adhere to the mechanics (deep and convoluted as they may seem) you should do just fine in this RP. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will answer all the questions that you have. But please don't think that asking questions is a way to short step the mechanics. I will know if you understand the RP or not by the character you submit, so please take the time to read everything in the "Rules" page and in the "Mechanics" page so that you understand the RP in its entirety.

Thank you, and I'll see you inside!!
May I ask how many people you currently have on the roster?
Three active (myself included) and two who are becoming less and less active in posting who may end up leaving on their own or being kicked for inactivity.

I'll join in, and unlike last time I won't take forever to post my character, so she should be up sometime today
Sounds like DB minus anything fun or interesting. No Namek, no buy.

Lol.

That's a pathetic excuse not to at least give something a chance, but that's fine. With an attitude like that you're obviously not skilled enough as a role-player to make a meaningful contribution to this RP anyway. Role-players who are actually worth something are the ones who can keep an open mind and utilize their creativity within any and all boundaries provided for them by the GM's they encounter.

As the saying goes "The more constraints one imposes, the more one frees oneself."

In other words when you open your mind to see beyond limits and constraints, you can create the infinite from the finite.

You, obviously, are not capable of doing that.

Neither myself nor the RP will be missing anything by your refusal to join, so thank you for leaving such a comment so I know to avoid and ignore you. You're obviously a weak and lackluster role-player with a bad attitude, and I know I'm too good of a role-player (as are the others who are involved) to be forced to deal with someone like you.

Have a nice day, and good luck with your future RP endeavors!

Interested! I shall continue reading the rules and the mechanics of this RP before submitting my character!
