Fantasy Dawn of Darkness

aristocraticMobster

They/Them Please
What happened?

A common enough question.

It's simple really. The world as the mere humans knew it is gone. It is now ruled by us the darkest, the most evil, of beings. Demons, vampires, werewolves. The creatures the humans thought were fairytales. Ha. How stupid. Will you join us in our new world brothers and sisters?

Emily sat at the forests edge watching as the many different creatures laughed, gambled, and had a feast. The war was over, the humans nearly extinct and the 'monsters' now ruled over earth. Emily wasn't sure how to feel about it to be honest. She hated the humans, no doubt. But not all of them deserved to die.

Kevin was in the middle of the festivities, bored and nibbling on random things. He signed and pulled up his hood going to find a quiet place to relax. The war itself was exhausting and tedious. Kevin hated it. All the blood that was spilt. It made him sick.

Ellie sat high in the trees of a park, playing Amazing Grace on her violin with nimble fingers. "Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound..." She sang quietly to the music. She jumped down from the tree and landed in a spiderman position. "I once was lost, But now I'm found! I was blind but now I see." Ellie was carried away in the music, dancing and kicking up dirt. Her messy Amber ponytail flopped about on her back and shoulders, but Ellie seemed unbothered by the movement and continued to play songs. Not many humans could forget about the war and all that had happened so easily. Even stranger... Ellie was smiling. It was a rare sight to see her smile, as she was really happy when she played music. But she played music rarely because of how carried away she would get and how loud music was.

Kevin heard faintly the sound if a violin, he wondered who could be playing it. All the monsters were celebrating but who was alone? He followed the sound and his eyes widen. A human was still alive....he hid quietly and listened, it was beautiful. Once the song had ended he came out of the bushes, his hood up hiding his horns for the time being. "That was beautiful, I've never heard the violin played so well." He smiles.

Ellie jumped, startled by the sound of a voice. "Oh- oh thank you. Was I really that loud?" She asked, whirling around to see a boy. "Because I heard monsters not too far away. What if they heard it..." Ellie put the violin in its case and strapped the case to her back. "Anyways, I'm Ellie. Used to be called E.T. But I highly recommend not calling me E.T."

Kevin smiles "It wasn't that loud, I was out walking when I heard it." He says kindly, he looked away though when she said monsters. He couldn't lie to the poor girl, "I'm Kevin...seventh demon lord." He says the last part softly pulling his hood down. "Please don't be scared, I won't hurt you. I didn't take part in this horrid war. I tried to help....please...I...I need a friend..." he says looking at the girl, Ellie with pleading eyes.

"I- I-.... Okay. But please don't tell the others that I exist." Ellie said once she saw Kevin's expression. She was a bit nervous and shifted her weight from one foot to another. "Oh, and good thing I wasn't that loud." Ellie said with a faint smile formed on her lips.

Kevin nods quickly "I won't tell anyone, do you know of any other survivors? I'd like to help as many people get to safety as I can...." He smiles putting his hood back up hoping to help her calm down some. "There's an old friend of mine who lives in these woods, I'll talk to her, perhaps you could stay there....at least it'd be warm..." He says kind of babbling wanting to help the human but not exactly sure how.

"Thanks and no. I dunno of anybody." Ellie said. "And I like the cold." She smiled brightly. "Again, thank you." Ellie said, gratitude was genuine in her voice.

(Sorry. Multitasking. I can't write long things.)

Coal-black eyes watched the festivities from a tree on the edge of the clearing. Within the tree, the owner of these eyes sat in a comfortable position, leaning against the main trunk of the tree with her right leg pulled up and arms wrapped around it. Only the collar around her neck marked her species--she was a Host. The golden rune on the collar further went on to state who she caged, and that made even some demons shy away from her in fear. She quietly hunted anything known to cause trouble, whether human or monster.

I was human once..

:Is that why you refused the job?:

...Perhaps. There aren't many of them left, and it's too late to restore any sort of bond between them and the monsters.

:You don't hate them for forcing you to be the cage to one of the most deadly and malevolent demons in all existence?:

It gives me someone to talk to.

:Tch. I still think you should kill the lot of them.:

Milee Raines: a name only known because of the level of the demon she contained. Wherever she went, she was shunned, hated, or others were too terrified to speak.

Milee sniffed the air, head turning to see a human and the seventh Demon Lord--a harmless boy--heading off into the forest.

:They don't deserve to live,: the demon hissed within her mind, and Milee felt herself slowly rising to her feet.

:Let me help you take revenge..: With that, Milee was engulfed in golden fire, and when the flames disappeared the cat-like form of the Golden Demon, the Calamity, was revealed. The name was only known to Milee: Kalamitat.

Kalamitat moved quietly like a shadow through the trees, quickly gaining on the Demon Lord and the human he was helping. Hopefully the boy knew not to cross the Golden Demon, but that was up for debate.

The cat leaped from the trees, landing just in front of the girl and the Lord, a beautiful yet terrifying sight.

"So, a human has survived. And a Demon Lord is betraying his people by helping it. How pitiful."

((Just a hint: Words surrounded by ":" show which personality is currently in control. You'll notice that when Kalamitat took control, her words were no longer surrounded by them. If i were to show one of Tori's thoughts, it'd look like this:

:Tori thought RAWR!
:) )

"Uh oh." Ellie said. "I'm gonna take a guess... This is bad. And I'm not an it." She said, the last part directed to the cat. Ellie was trying not to act scared, but her muscles had tensed up and the hair on the back of her neck stood on end. "What are we gonna do?" She asked in the calmest voice she was able to muster as she turned to face Kevin.

Kevins eyes widen in shock and he steps back looking at the demon and back to the human. "You need to run, while you can." Kevin says grimly, just because he chose not to fight doesn't mean he can't. Though he hadn't practiced in centuries.

"Now this is a party." Emily calls from the trees stepping out her staff slung across her back. "You know I happen to just adore cats." She says off hand with a wicked smile.

Kevins face turned white, two monsters. He stood no chance. "Whatever you do...don't let go." He says grabbing the humans hand and in a jet black puff of smoke they were gone. As they traveled it was fast the world spinning around them. It was normal for Kevin.

"Coward!" Emily shouts pouting. She looks at the other demon with a raised eyebrow. "You just gonna stand there or are we hunting them?"

"Wouldn't dream of it." Ellie said, holding tightly to Kevin's hand. She wasn't used to his way of very very fast travel and had closed her eyes. Holy friggin crap. She thought. We are going really fast.

Kalamitat said nothing to the other demon, only the flick of her tail signaling that the help would be welcome before the cat disappeared in a golden blur, racing through the forest and eventually coming to the house she had realized the Demon Lord was probably heading to, jumping onto the roof and sitting there, tail hanging over the door. Her green eyes scanned the forest keenly.

:I won't let you control me like this! You can't kill her. I won't let you.:

Oh? Come and try. The only outward expression of Kalamitat's amusement was a flick of her tail and a quiet purr.

"There...we should be safe for now. This is my home and is protected by a spell. Only those who have my permission may enter. And if they do happen to get through I have plenty of guards here to help." He smiles reassuringly. "I hope your alright."

Emily followed close behind barely able to keep up with the demon. When they arrived she clicked her tongue. "Mighty powerful spell he has. Shouldn't be problem however." With a snap of her fingers a book appeared in her hands and she casually leafed through it before smirking. With her free hand she drew her staff from behind her back and began whispering in what sounded french. "With that done, let's continue."

As Jamilia arrived, she realized that the party's supplies of alcohol have gone dry, and that, to her, no party would be complete without alcohol. But because she knew her broomstick had a finite payload capacity, she couldn't carry a full keg of alcohol while on the broomstick and, as such, had to conjure alcohol on the spot. With a snap of her hands, she conjured a small keg of ale, but the other attendees seemed a little cautious about her magically-created alcohol. "Here! Have some ale on the house."

After spending an entire night tending the sick and wounded, Expecting Mother and Angel Euphemira, nicknamed "Euphie" by the Village Children, was taking a nap in her home that villagers have made for her. Several months ago she had been shunned by the heavens because she was pregnant with a half-demon child. It wasn't really fair to her. Sadly, her Lover had been hunted down and killed a few months ago, not by the Villagers that she currently stays with, but by the same people that banished her. When she woke up from her nap, Euphie just grabbed something to eat. Finally, she went to go retrieve some water from the River not too far away. Grabbing a Pale, she temporarily departed from the Village and started making her way towards the river. Sadly it would take some time because she was unable to fly and she was fairly far along in her pregnancy. However, Euphie was happy that she now had the chance to stretch out her wings.

((SORRY! First week back to school. I was busy.))

Ellie nodded and gulped. "I- I'm okay. Man, you can go really fast!" She said "Thank you." She said to Kevin. "Do you think they know where we went?" Ellie asked, curious of what he thought.
