If your pride and ego won't allow you to risk anything, leave now
If you think for a second that you'll have a chance at my ship when my back's turned, leave now
If you're here to kill or rob me, leave now
If you can't possibly accept me as your new leader, leave now
If you're used to the life your other crews provided for you, leave now
If you're here for any other reason than to join my crew, leave now
If you're comfortable here on this island, leave now
If there's any reason whatsoever that you can think of that you'd want to stay here, leave now
If you can't follow orders, leave now
If you trust me, leave now

I will not blame you, shame you, scorn you, or kill you

If you're tired of this island, you're in the right place
If you're unsure of whether or not to trust me, I haven't given you a reason to trust me
If you want to leave this island, you're in the right place
If you want to get back at your former crew, I can help you

So you want to sail the seas again, eh? Well I don't know if I can trust you. After all, we're all here because we were thrown overboard by our own crew. I don't have time for petty wannabes and fairytale hero worshippers. This life ain't an easy one. I'm tired of surviving. I'm ready to live again

I don't drive a hard bargain. I can't promise you shit except a cut of the loot and respect for respect. I don't have a crew, but I'll be damned if I stay here long than I need to, with or without a crew. Our life here sucks. We both know that. We both miss the sea. Are you willing to risk your reputation, the rest of your dignity, and your already miserable life for the chance to get back at the bastards who put you here in the first place? We may not live. We may not find our scorned former crew, but I promise you the ability to try and that we're not going down without a fight

A huge island far away from any civilization within any sort of sight. This island was home to the abandoned. The trash of pirate crews. Any crew that didn't want a member just threw them overboard and they somehow washed up on this island if they didn't die from the salty sea journey in the first place from drowning or the sea's scaly residents or their winged frequents rabid from hunger.

This island was full of the rough of the rough, the angry. Tough pirates who were scorned by their crew. A barbaric violence of a man scorned, and seething calculated rage of a woman scorned. The coast stunk of death and blood while the coast with all the fishing and fresh sea air was heavily guarded, as if this was one of few things these disowned pirates had left to hold on to. Survival of the fittest. That's what it was. Survival. Maybe with the intent to start living again.........maybe not, but survival was the name of this current unforgiving game.

"Nothing again, eh Zeus?" A man held out his arm and on landed an owl, who shook its head. This was Luke. The owl Zeus. He knew the answer to the question long before Zeus even made it back. Luke saw everything Zeus saw, which was naught but deep blue sea and the occasional bird cousin. He could see everything from the owl's eyes.
He overlooked the current coast he was guarding and the sea, his shiny blue eyes taking everything in in exasperation. The 5th search. He used up all the cardinal directions (North, South, East, West) and moved on to the NE, which was to no avail with Zeus's stamina level even though Zeus was kept well fed.
Luke sighed and sat down on the sand. "Geez..........."

Meanwhile, his companion was in the forest. The stinky bloody forest littered with corpses. A fiercely beautiful tanned girl with white hair who wouldn't look intimidating in the least if she weren't wearing a Ram skull on her head. It definitely made her look at least a bit intimidating, but too intimidating to approach? Who knew? She wasn't wearing much clothes, so any frustrated man or woman could try and take advantage of her. She was climbing trees to pick berries for food and potions, trying to avoid being seen. She didn't want to fight today. This was Tessa. If one had much experience dealing with one, they'd know from sight that she was a witchdoctor, not to be trifled with. Over the month they've been here, she's had to kill or enslave about 20 pirates already. She just wanted to get some berries for Luke.

Short legs carried the small feline deeper into the forest of this godforsaken island. He stayed low in hopes that his golden, fluffy pelt wouldn't stand out too much against the lush greenery. Although, it shouldn't only be his fur that he worries about. This cat was oddly dressed just like a human, with the shirt and pants, and even a miniature rifle to boot. One look at the cat would make it obvious that he was something more than just the simple pet that humans adored. He's a Neko, the half-human and half-cat beings that were hard to come by these days. At least that's what the Neko himself thought. The only other ones he'd seen other than himself were the group of pirates that rudely kicked him off their crew. Just when I thought I'd find the place where I could belong, too...

Nonetheless, putting that train of thought aside for the umpteenth time, he resumed his search for any kind of freshwater and food. Nikita had only been on this island for a week, but he quickly figured out the typical places to avoid and other places where he knew it was safe to approach. Safe places he'd mark with his scent. For bad places, he pinpointed certain smells to associate with them. Like the one he was about to run into now. It was the scent of a certain woman who he knew was responsible for killing other pirates in the past. While Nikita in the past would have been pleased to smell the scent of any kind of woman - the Neko crew was exclusively male - this one, he would gladly walk the other way. He didn't want to get killed today, thanks.

Instead, he found a bush with a few berries still clinging to it. It looked picked over, but it was better than nothing. Sniffing the berries to confirm that they were safe to eat, Nikita then transformed back to his humanoid self to put them in his bag. The transformation took only a few seconds, with his legs elongating to human appendages, his tail gaining length until it curled neatly beside his crouched position on the ground, and finally his hair left him to leave only a mess of it on his head. He looked just like a human save the amber eye color, his ears and tail, and finally his claws. With a pleased hum, he then finally placed the berries inside his bag.

Tessa sensed the spirit of the Neko. "If you're here to try and take advantage of me, I would love a cat as a pet." Taking advantage meaning rape or robbery, because she's encountered both. She could easily tell the difference between a neko and a normal human even before seeing them.

The reason she gave away her position is because there was no way to hide from a neko without magic. Those senses were sharp.

She found another berry bush and dropped down in plain sight of the neko, seemingly dropping her guard, but actually being fully prepared for an attack. Twas the life of a pirate. Backstabbers they were

At the sound of the scantly-clad woman landing in front of him, Nikita sprang to his feet and raised his claws in defense. He lowered his ears and the fur on his tail stood on end; all of the actions were involuntary to him. It was instinct to behave like this as if he was trying to scare the woman off. Despite his attempts at intimidation, his voice betrayed him. No matter how this woman looked, she has killed others in the past. That thought was a bit daunting... He tried his best to put up a strong front. As his mouth moved, if one were looking closely, they'd be able to see his teeth. The pointed ones were specifically there to tear through meat. "Taking advantage? Who said I want to do that? But..." He grinned before saying his next piece. "I wouldn't mind being your pet." He paused for a second and quickly added: "Haha, that was a joke so leave me alone... Please..." He said the last word in a quieter tone than he started in, and Nikita gradually began lowering his claws to signify that he really wanted no fights here. Kylesar1 Kylesar1

She sighed and picked her berries. "Very well. I know my rep on this island and I don't kill for the sake of killing. I fear for my life and to a higher degree, my partner's, just like everyone else." Tessa looked around the forest. "You're too fearful to be a standalone threat. Are you here with someone?" Tessa expected the neko to lie if he were with someone, as that was a smart survival tactic

Raiders Raiders

Mmm, partner, interesting... He thought. Nikita didn't know what he'd do with the extra information just yet, but it was good to know. That explained the other, faint male scent on her. There was also another scent that wafted around the woman that he couldn't identify; it was far too soft. Continuing to grin as he took a more casual position, Nikita's ears perked up to their natural pose and his fur eventually flattened down. It was nice to not feel like he'd get killed anymore, and it's been ages since he's last had a proper conversation. This Neko could only write and talk to himself for so long until it drove him insane. "Nope! I washed up on this island all on my lonesome. This cat's been fending for his life ever since..." He grumbled, somewhat narrowing his eyes on the woman. "And saying I'm too fearful... Gee, thanks for pointing out one of my insecurities, lady."

...Sometimes even Nikita himself wonders if the pirate life was right for him. Because Nikita certainly didn't think he sounded like one. Kylesar1 Kylesar1

Sinopa the fox neko was used to not having a crew and ship to call her home. She was frequently kicked off of ships for a mixture of reasons, though it was usually either her race, her tendency to steal, or a combination of both that prompted her forced departures. This time however they'd thrown her overboard near a small island that the crew had thought to be abandoned, saying it was probably better for the thieving fox to be away from civilization all together. She now walked the sandy beach, glad that she was finally out of the water as she slowly shook her tail dry, walking NE. Well she thought it was north east as she wasn't the best with directions, after all she was a thief not a navigator.

Tessa shook her head as she placed the berries in her bag. "There's more to being a pirate than killing. It's a simple fact that you're just not a standalone threat. If you're still alive, obviously you have some skill in some area. You don't have to be a barbarian to be a pirate. You can do what we're doing now........." She looked at the neko with her dagger out. She had used it to cut branches off. She looked disgusted. "None of these nasty horny brutes would want to do this, yet they'll appreciate it when they're not dying from vitamin deficiency."

Tessa picked more berries. "Find a crew that'll take you as you are........ A diverse crew is a skilled one." Tessa looked around for another bush and found no more worth picking. Guess it was time to go

Luke looked over to see someone walking towards his part of the beach. They were in the process of building a ship and he'd be damned if someone tried to hijack it. He pulled out his shiny platinum pistol at the one who approached. "I'll let you pass through, but I'm busy here. One and only warning."

Sinopa stopped and stared at the boy with that had is pistol pulled on her with a blank expression, before promptly starting her walk again. "I have no interest in your ship unless it has gold on it" She spoke plainly looking at him and scanning the pistol. "I hate guns." She mumbled to herself as she examined it. Sinopa had always been more one for knives and things since guns quite often made noise obviously. That and they were frequently aimed at her by former 'friends.'

Arm after arm he made way towards the land, sending splashes of water with each consecutive motion. His eyelids open and closed rhythmically. The man's consciousness receded and returned again and again. The island was just within reach. This time, it felt real, not another illusion brought on by his exertion. The sound of birds chirping and the gentleness of the waves pushing against his body had told him that truth. His head bobbed in and out of the salty water due to the gradual recession of his strength. The only thing that had kept him moving thus far was adrenaline and that was hastily running dry. With just a little more determination, he would find relief. With one arm he heaved forward, his plumed hands digging deep in to the sandy beach of the shore. With a second strong push forward he pulled the entirety of his body out of the cold ocean. Relief.

It felt like an immense weight was being pushing against his chest the second he hit land. His lungs were scorched and his body felt like it was breaking. The man stood on all fours, spitting out the water that had previous flooded his lungs. Now, he was completely tuckered out and devoid of energy. The only thing he could do is collapse back-first on to the sand. His eyes gazed upwards to the sun, uncertain of what his next actions would be. Decisively, the first thing he would have to do his regain some of his stamina and get moving. Even if he were exhausted resting out in the open would not be a wise move. He was not a fighter, nor a survivor. How would he vide for life on his own when he believed himself to be wholly incapable? Perhaps his new found curse is what pushed him to survive in the first place. The man brought one his hands up to his eyes to gaze at it. The black marking trailed from there to his torso and even further up to his face.

Surviving being dumped in to the ocean is what most would call fortunate. Unless of course that stroke of luck led to an even crueler fate. Someone who is cursed like him is not looked kindly upon in the eyes of fate. What acts of cruelty awaits are unknown to him, but he was certain the only thing that awaited him on this island was despair. A death at sea would have been much more simple than this.

"Easier said than done..." Nikita more muttered to himself than talking to his new... er... sort of acquaintance, he deemed. Not many pirates were willing to take him in because of his species. Hell, it took him quite a bit convincing to get on the Neko crew. Eventually, his grin came back - if he keeps it up it might get contagious - as he decided to take a short look around his surroundings, too. Nothing caught his eye. "But I'll take that as a compliment, I guess. Just don't come too close to me with that knife drawn." Amber spheres locked onto it for a brief moment before he turned away, double checking that he really did scavenge all of the berries. A part of him couldn't help but feel disappointed that the woman in front of him took berries that could have been his...

He paused for a moment and sniffed the air, and not long after the Neko pointed deeper into the greenery with a single claw. "If you want more of your berries, there's more over there. Be careful, though, since there might be a couple of pirates-" His nose twitched. "Oh, definitely... Yep, that's blood. They're probably fighting, so, yeah..." A dirty trick, but Nikita was trying to get the woman away from the next bushes of berries so he could have a little more to himself. He wouldn't know how kindly she'd take to sharing anyway. Truly, the closest batch of berries was a bit closer to the shore and not deeper in the forest. He wasn't lying about the pirates fighting, though. The familiar, almost metallic-tasting scent was definitely real.

Luke got back to work, but kept his guard up. "Well go enjoy fighting for your precious metals. They're worthless here anyways. I'm getting off this heathen-infested island."

Tessa waved him off. "I have more than enough for a couple of days." She started to walk away. Towards where the pirates were fighting. "I'll probably go enslave those buffoons." She said it as if it were such a chore to do. "My partner and I are building a ship to get off this floating rock and I guess they'll be good to work to death building. If we can get a trustworthy crew to leave with, good. If not, then we'll get one when we reach civilization."

Sinopa looked back at the boy curiously. "If gold is worthless here than what does have worth on this island?" She asked curiously her ears flicking toward the boy. She should've known that on an island like this there would be no civilization that valued money. "I don't have any money anymore anyway" She sighed lightly since her last crew had taken what she had, leaving her with just her weapons and her pouch.

(I'm sorry for the long post, but like I don't know how to shorten all of this D: )

"Oh, ok... You've got a nice little plan going for you then~"
Nikita partially sang and dipped his own head in parting, but in all honesty he'd really want to join their little crew already. He's not the type to go solo like he is right now; he enjoyed the company of other people. However, exhibiting the same fear like he did before, the Neko was somewhat scared of actually asking. Perhaps if he gave it more thought, he'd come to a proper answer of choosing to join the woman's team or not. For now, though, his stomach was demanding food. The berries he gathered wasn't enough. "Well, good luck with those pirates. Although I'm pretty sure you don't need it." With one last wave of his tail, Nikita turned around and began to walk in the direction closer to the coast. As he left, part of himself was just a bit relieved that the woman wouldn't go after his berries trick. Maybe she saw through his guise? His footsteps against the grass barely made a sound. The reason for his too quiet footsteps could have been either Nikita knows what he's doing, or the Neko himself was just horribly light. Considering that he stood at about five feet and six inches, he should weigh about one-hundred and thirty pounds... (Actually, I'm gonna add to Nikita's character sheet to describe a little more about his physical attributes ^^)

Nonetheless, he repeated the process of changing into his cat form to approach the next batch of bushes. He figured out early on that he could stay out of sight better as a small housecat. The much-welcomed scent of berries grew stronger with each several steps he took, and soon Nikita's mouth was watering. Just based on the smell alone told him that these bushes weren't picked over like the last ones. He couldn't help but begin to pick up his pace, growing excited at the 'treasure' he'd find.

Once he reached his destination, the berry bushes were actually closer to the coast than he'd anticipated. He could see the ocean stretch before him here. This was the very edge of the forest... So why, exactly, were these berries still here? Wouldn't they be the first ones taken by other pirates? Another taste in the air quickly told him why. This was the side of the beach where most of the fighting took place. The faint smell of blood told him so, as well as the scent of rotting flesh. He couldn't see any decomposing bodies; perhaps they were already disposed of? Among the foul smells, he was able to pick up a single one of a man. He was alive. Well, barely alive, the Neko added. Another look at the coast revealed to him that the man was collapsed on the beach. He just washed up.

The next actions he did were very unwise for a pirate. The rule was always every man for himself, yet Nikita didn't make any second thought as he rushed to the man's aid. This was the exact reason why Nikita was kicked off his original crew in the first place. He was too quick to help others who he deemed that needed it. In the middle of his dash, he changed back to his humanoid form. It wouldn't be beneficial to either of them if he could only communicate through meows.

His face showed his worry, his ears lowered, and his tail curled closer to his own body. It was the Neko's way to show he meant no harm. "Hey, are you-" He crouched down to the man's level, and what he saw was the reason behind his pause. This man's body was covered in these strange black markings. His eyes were this sickening red color, like he had a disease or something. And to top it all off, this eerie-looking horn was sprouted on the back of his neck. Nikita had no idea what those were or what they meant, but it made the hair on the back of his own neck stand on end. It just... didn't feel right. But that didn't deter him from helping the strange man, though. "...Alright? Can you hear me?"

"For the bumbling idiots on this island, gold and money can mean something. Realistically speaking though, it nets you nothing more than a bigger target on your forehead."

Luke turned to her. "This is a dead end island. Unless you plan on building your own ship and leaving or coming along with another group building, you may as well off yourself now because you'll die here otherwise."

The sound of footsteps resounded through the air and made their way in to his ears. The vibrations could be felt against the hot sands adjacent to his body as the footsteps drew closer. He shut his eyes, feeling utterly powerless. He could hardly move his arms now so there was no chance he would be able to defend himself against whatever it was that approached. The only thing of value that he held was a flintlock pistol— likely damaged by the waters he swam through. He paid close attention as they drew closer and closer. The footsteps stopped, it was close now. Azar had little choice but to face reality, to open his eyes and witness whatever it was that lies before him. Azar's sickened eyes snapped upward. It was a person, perhaps a pirate— regardless his attention became affixed on their ears. The man was a Neko, a species Azar has heard stories about in the past. They were hunters known for their relentlessness much like the felines they had bore a similarity to. The way his ears were posed had suggested submissiveness in other felines, he pondered if it meant the same thing for Nekos.

Azar sat up straight, wincing slightly at the strain it had caused in his abdomen. He bit his lip and withdrew his grimace in an attempt not to look weak. Azar quickly realized that it was obvious how injured he was and retracted the facade immediately. A hand went to his stomach, gripping it harshly in an attempt to make some of the pain subside. The neko seemed to analyze Azar's affliction for a moment but did look to be wavered by it. Was the neko ignorant of what it entailed or was he just a simple fool? Regardless of the reason behind it, Azar was certain he could take advantage of it. "I can hear you. And I am not alright," he retorted in a croaky voice. The intentions of the Neko were still unknown to Azar, but at the moment it did not appear that he wanted to harm him. But, that may change quickly from the stories he heard about the species temperament. Now that Azar leaned upright it was easy to see his surroundings and the area had made him feel uneasy.

The accursed one made an attempt to stand before staggering back downward. Azar looked towards the Neko with a helpless expression on his face, the sincerity behind his previous words were very apparent. "Can you help me up? And do you have any food?" he inquired, suddenly aware of his apparent hunger. Azar figured if the neko held ill-will towards him then he would have known by now.

Nikita was eyeing the other man very closely. He watched for sudden movements, perked his ears up trying to hear for any hint of hostility in his voice, and simply doing anything that might prove the other person to be a threat. It was what his last crew taught him to do when speaking with other questionable beings, but he couldn't bring himself to do it properly. It was clear that this man needed help with the way he struggled to only sit up. Nikita was unable to focus on that tip. Perhaps that's why he completely overlooked the pistol the other man carried. Perhaps that's why he didn't care about the other's set of eyes looking the Neko's own body down. His worry was clouding any reasonable thought.

When the marked man made an attempt to stand, Nikita automatically rose his hands in case the other might have made too harsh of a fall. With the way his fingernails were shaped, it was probably best that the Neko didn't catch him. He'd more than likely receive more injuries if his claws got a hold of him. "Take it easy!" He said in a slightly scolding tone, but he meant no malice behind it. As soon as he saw the honest look on the man's face, though, that previous voice left him and he quickly nodded. "Um, yeah, just give me a second..."

Nikita rose to his feet and he listened for any approaching footsteps, and he sniffed to check for fresh scents. At least he was able to nail that skill down. There was nothing that he noticed out of the ordinary, and Nikita then began to take the rifle off his back. As he moved, he muttered loud enough so the other man should be able to hear him. "I can't carry you, so you'll have to use my shoulder... We'd both be in hot water if you trigger my rifle." He held the long firearm in one hand awkwardly by the stock, so the muzzle was facing directly forwards. It didn't feel right, but he couldn't think of any better way to handle it than that. He once again crouched down to the man's level so the Neko's back was facing him. Nikita tucked his tail between his legs so it wouldn't be in the way of the other's mount. He just hoped he won't get sick from touching the marked man, or worse. He looked at the other over his shoulder. "C'mon. Before someone shows up."

He scoffed. While he gave her props for basically admitting she was a thief, he still had to warn her. "Join if you want, but if you plan on stealing from me afterwards, your body will wash up again before your head does." Luke didn't care if she joined or not. He was particularly weary of thieves, but he had nothing to steal right now.

"If you want to join my crew, you'll be the first."

Tessa made her way out of the forest, 5 men following her, in a complete trance. Bloody and bruised. Enslaved by Tessa. Their eyes were completely devoid of all color and they said nothing. Just followed like drones.

While she was back to the coast, It turns out that she was a ways away from where Luke was. Eh. On this island with no sort of landmarks inland, it was easy to get lost.

She did see something of interest though. The neko from earlier covered by a high magical presence. He was with someone. A cohort? She shook her head. Even so, they outnumbered them 3:1, so she approached

"Hello again, Neko and friend."

"The first? You don't even have a crew and you intend on setting sail?" She scoffed at the boy who had spoke of leaving the island. Being on as many crews as she had she knew the extensive amount of work it took to run a successful pirate ship and sail 'safely.' "I can make no promises about stealing though, it depends on how I'm treated and how much I get from people that aren't in the crew"

You don't wash up here again." But if she wanted to stay, she could. Luke was just forewarning her now so there would be no question of the reason if a bullet got misplaced in her vocal chords or she find that she has no free will.

Azar obliged without any further question, he had nothing to lose after all. The accursed one wrapped an arm around the man's shoulder and used his weight to support his own. There was not a scant of shame visible on his face; relying on others was something that had always been a necessity to him. Azar only needed a slight respite to get back on his feet, some food, and definitely a shelter to lay his head for a night. If the neko could provide even one of those things, he would not refute it. For a moment, all seemed bright until the obelisk that protruded from the nape of his neck fired a jolt of pain through his back. He nearly brought the Neko down due to the shock. It was not an immense amount of pain, the abruptness of it was what perturbed him. He placed his opposite arm at his neck to indicate that was the source of the pain. It was not obvious, but the horn had a dim blue light radiating from its surface.

The cause of which soon became apparent, a witch came to the shore from the island with several enthralled ones in tow. It was to be expected that one like him would draw bad luck. Admittedly Azar could not help but doubt the Neko's combat abilities and he knew his own to be lacking. Azar felt somewhat responsible for the witches appearance, even if there might not be truth to that thought. Despite his battle to reach the shore the value he had held over his own life had diminished significantly To the point where he would not let a kind stranger be burdened by him if this was an enemy. "If this women is trouble, don't let me get in your way," he stated plainly. There was not fear in his voice, but instead it was complacent. A marked one would bring trouble in whatever land they traversed and he did not have enough malice in his heart to damn another unnecessarily.

Despite her believe that the part of that sentence that she believed most was the dying trying she still nodded softly. "You can't tell a thief not to steal; but I'll try" The sentence came out slowly as she knew that he would probably hold her to her word, and would most likely harm her if she did steal from him. "Who are you anyway, and your partner? I assume you've been on a crew previously"
