Fantasy Dark, Gothic 1800s Romance [21+, 1x1]

Gothic Romance Search Thread!

578627

Hello! I am a 21 year old English and History student desperate for some subject oriented MxF RPs, as I've read a few books from my lectures I'd love to try and RP. I'm particularly craving a dark, gothic 1800s RP with a fantasy setting. Anything supernatural/fairytale themed is fine by me, though I'm thinking more of a Brothers Grimm edge than Disney.

Rules:
- Please be over 21! I have nothing against younger writers, I just feel more comfortable writing and interacting with adults.
- Please be literate and detailed, I typically can start off with more than 800 words or more in my RPs often, though short sentences and paragraphs for dialogue between characters is okay! My word count is flexible. ^^
- Please be open to double and write as male, female and any canon characters mentioned.
- Please be willing to explore some very dark, mature and controversial themes. If you have any triggers such as mental illness or abuse/assault etc and other issues, then this isn't the thread for you.
- My most important rule...historical accuracy! I'm not expecting you to know every tiny detail, but at least be willing to do research or have some general knowledge on the time period. I know it's a fantasy, but it really helps with the setting. If we have characters acting and thinking like 21st century people then it won't be much of an 1800s based RP, will it?
- Be okay with OOC chat! I have a discord account and can also use PMs.

The * shows my level of interest, but I'm open to most ideas. My particular fandom inspired cravings for this era include:

Phantom of the Opera (musical)
The Vampire Diaries (tv show)
Penny Dreadful (tv show)
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell ***

Original pairing ideas:
angel x demon *
wizard x witch *
vampire x vampire *
vampire x human *
werewolf x vampire
hunter x creature
ghost whisperer x ? (obviously, this plot bunny is inspired by the CBS show). *
fallen star x ? (Stardust inspired)

If you have any other prompts/suggestions, feel free to ask. These were just some combos that came from the top of my head.

Hi! I'd be interested in potentially working with you on the following ideas!

Phantom of the Opera (musical)
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell *** (Note: I've not actually seen this yet, but it's absolutely on my list!)

I was also wondering whether you would be interested in a dark Austen.

Ah, thank you for your interest! I've studied these two books for 19th century lit so maybe we could even do a crossover, whatever floats your boat! What I loved was that they're both in completely different styles (I know a lot are but these are the main novels I did essays on). Separate RPs could work as well. Up for anything really. And Phantom and Austen, too! Gosh you have good taste. :p

I'll PM you, we can always do more than one RP.
