Ellida had sat back down and kept silent during the most part of the conversation, watching as the woman went to get herself a change of clothes, and also Sarah, and came back looking more presentable. The elf smiled a bit at her. She had a feeling that she was a valuale ally and possible friend. The woman came back and introduced herself as Andromeda, a very nice name in her opinion.

"E-Ellida T-Tealeaf.."

This was probably the fifth time she had introduced herself today. She had probably spoken more than she had ever spoken in a long time, who knew? At Sarah's question, her smile dissapeared. They still had a job, after all.

"Vampires are sensitive to light, specifically sunlight and holy magic. They can attack better in groups rather than individually. Despite that, a single vampire is still very strong. They can blend in the darkness easily and are very quick, so that'll be a problem."

The elf took a deep breath. She didn't feel as nervous for some reason, maybe because it had to do with her research? She drummed her fingers on the table as she continued to speak

"I-I suggest that we should avoid s-shadows as much as possible and p-probably lure them into the sun, or light.. A blinding spell will be most effective. T-The fastest w-way to kill them will pr-probably be by incapacitation.."

Vox eyed Ellida as she spoke. The elf was educated when it came to vampires, but not when it came to the city. "If the sun comes back to this city, we'll use it then. Incapacitation is the best way to go if we need answers for anything, so we'll leave that decision making to our Andromeda. Maybe she'll want to talk to hubby before turning him to ash."

The city of Dungrim was a dark, miserable place. Once the pinnacle of mankind's show of dominance and glory in these lands, Dungrim now reduced to a slum filled with petty crime and squabbling. Buildings were barely in shape, most of the wood that made up many houses and buildings were rotted, the stone and brick were cracked or covered in moss, and the city's guards were pitifully disorganized. The guild's presence was the only thing keeping most of the order. But even they could only do so much. The corruption that tainted the land could clearly be seen slowly taking over its people as the group walked down the dirty, unkempt roads. If one paid close enough attention, they could feel the earth beneath their feet almost breathing a miasma of decay and darkness.

Oddly enough during the group's walk, Vox kept close to Ellida, turning away any predatory gazes with his own. Sera, Sarah, Andromeda, and Tilibran got their own looks, but for different reasons. Sera was well known in the city. Tilibran was a half-drow and therefor equally as untrusted as Ellida, but more hated, due to her elvish lineage. And Sarah and Andromeda were with a very odd group. Despite being part of the guild they all attracted attention. Sera, though, was the only one getting any nods or smiles.

"Is Tealeaf a house or clan name? Or do you belong to the more independent elves up north?" Vox filled the silence by talking to Ellida as they hopefully neared their destination. Andromeda was taking point, and she was their client, so, for the time being, she was the one in charge in Vox's eyes.

"...we'll leave that decision making to our Andromeda. Maybe she'll want to talk to hubby before turning him to ash." Her breath clenched in her lungs, letting those words cut through her. Ash he says...I wish I could mold him back into the man I knew rather than the dust I would kick away, pretending he never was... Andromeda held onto to those very words that Vox had spoken earlier. They had entered Dungrim, shadows of its past cling onto the slum torn people, it had saddened Andromeda months before. Now, it just disgusts and makes her wish to put it out of its misery, her feet clung to the floor as they pushed toward their destination. She could feel her skin becoming poked by the eyes of the people confused by the people following behind her. She had been known up north by her town because of her simple yet elegant beauty and the way her eyes had marinated in joy and hope. It was known so well that it traveled to Dungrim as well, now the people look at her in depression and wonder about what had happened to not only her but the world around them. Andromeda looked up to see the broken-down stone and silver building, decorated in black muck, blood, and tears. She had the others follow behind her as they neared closer to it, her head almost snapping off as she looked up at it and around it. Finally, they had stopped before it, walking inside.

"Oh, Lazarus..." Her vision distorted in an emotional haze for a moment, everything returned to how out had looked before. It was a tall circular area, similar to an arena, decorated in emerald bushes, hand made floating candle lights and silver woven into the walls. It was the place of her wedding day, the vampires who had attacked were nesting here now. It smelled of old blood and rotting flesh, all the greenery was torn and stained. The candle mostly blown out except a few surround a large banner waving behind the altar. It had a sigil on it, a three-headed black hydra curled around a yellow sun. With a gasp Andromeda ran up to it, fighting back her tears.

"It's still here...the only memory I have of him and his family...my family..." She whispered to herself, she hoped quiet enough so no one would hear her. Her eyes scattered around excitedly similar to a child seeing their parent after so long. She turned to the beaten podium that passed a paper with violet ink. She traced her fingertips across it, it read:

To my dearest Andromeda,
I have dreamed of this day and I am so blessed to have fallen in love with you, please keep me forever. I wish my brother Marcus could be here to see me and see you but I hope it is enough for him for one day to know I married the love of my life.

To my dearest Lazarus,
Thank you for taking my heart and keeping as yours, I will forever dream of you and wake up joyous that you are my dream come to life. I can't wait to see my family I will soon be apart of. I love you, till I lives are no longer.

As Andromeda stood at the podium examining the paper, Sarah looked around for any signs of danger with her sword out. While there didn't seem to be any enemies around, at least for the moment, the swordswoman knew all to well that there could be hidden foes around. "Any idea where to look for the vamps from here?" Sarah spoke softly, not wanting her voice to carry and possibly alert the undead to their presence. Hopefully some of the others were better able to see in the dark than she was able to, otherwise they might be in for some trouble.

Seraphine walked with the others as they entered into the large ceremonial area. It displayed the damage of the recent carnage that had taken place. Blood still spattered along the walls. She looked up to the bride as she ran up to the altar. This was supposed to be the happiest day of her life. Poor Andromeda, she thought to herself. A bride's happiest day should never be ripped away from her; Sera's heart sank for the other woman.

Her sword sat in its sheath at her hip. Her footsteps were light against the ground, barely making a sound. Taking a scan around the room, she readied herself mentally for anything that would jump straight for them. She wasn't one to let a teammate die, even if they'd just all become acquainted.

She knew vampires strike in groups after fighting a few in the past. However, this seemed like it was an infestation. Vampires were a family type of monster. They were still monsters, but a strange twisted family. Her eyes were well acclimated to Dungrim's atmosphere and its dark and foggy environment. But this didn't mean that the vampires couldn't also see them. Their eyes were nearly perfect in the dark. Light magic or a way to light the room would be best to at least see them and with luck, blind them. Her left hand was at her side, and with an open palm, she took a breath... waiting for the oncoming storm.

Ellida stood beside Sarah as she read the notes that were on the podium, before looking back sadly to Andromeda. It must've been terrible to go through it. By what little she knew, they really loved eachother and the one she loved got killed so brutally in front of her. The elf shook away the thoughts and made her way to the center, hand in dagger.

"I suggest you all stay beside me. They'll try to take us out one by one.."

Ellida then muttered some words and a ball of bright light appears on her hand, floating. The orb floats just above her head as Ellida watches the shadows for any strange movement.

Tilabran followed Andromeda, Vox's words still floating in her mind. Tilabran wasn't one to sympathize much, but that level of cruelty was reserved for someone she despised, like Vox. When they entered the area the attacks took place, she frowned. Blood was smeared and splattered all around. Seems like the vampires not only needlessly murdered, but bathed in the blood of their victims. Tilabran hung back as the rest approached the podium. She surveyed the crimson scene. Slowly Tilabran stepped closer to the group, her hands resting on the hilt of her blades.

Being stalked wasn't a preference of hers. She viewed herself as the predator, not the prey. At Ellida's words, she nodded. Despite her general loathe for company, she wasn't foolish enough to believe anyone was capable of destroying a coven. Especially one so full on blood. However, it seemed too quiet and serene. They could be lurking just outside of sight. Waiting for a misstep. If anyone were to be killed tonight, she hoped it would be Vox, not that she was actively wishing death on him. Or was she? She hadn't decided.

While everyone went about their business, Vox stared at the banner. The Mestoph family sigil looked as grand as ever even in the state it was in. There were only two eligible men left in the Mestoph family that Vox knew of. Himself and his cousin Lazarus. The knight made his way to the banner and reached out to it slowly, "you know... this banner, was made by my great grandfather. My dad would tell me and Lazarus the story of how grandpa climbed the highest mountain in the world to fight the hydra that rested at the top. During the fight, his sword was said to have shone so brightly that it rivaled the sun's light. After slaying the hydra he spent a year crafting the banner. It was going to be mine when I came of age, but I became a paladin instead so it went to Lazarus." Vox was mainly addressing Andromeda while speaking. He didn't know if she and Lazarus were attacked before or after they had made their vows. Either way, Andromeda was a Mestoph according to their family's traditions.

'MaRCuuuSSSsss'

A raspy voice croaked from one of the doors in the corner of the room. Vox turned his head to the right to look at the cracked, partially opened, bloody door where the noise came from. The light provided by Ellida made it slightly harder to see in the darker parts of the room, where shuffling and movement could be heard. Vox stepped back towards the rest of the group, "everyone, get together now...." The death knight looked around cautiously. Any in the group who could see in the dark would be able to tell that the walls and ceiling were now crawling with vampires, many of them staring at the members of the group ready to pounce. Vox recognized a number of the beasts as members of his family. The pale beasts scurried in and out of hiding as if trying to throw the group off.

The movements ceased as the cries of a child echoed from one of the far ends of the room behind a table that had been turned over."Mommy~" The little voice kept sobbing.

It felt like ice rising in her body, freezing her from the inside, her thoughts were lost in what had happened to her and her husband. It was Vox's voice that melted her frozen position, she looked over at him as he spoke to her about the history of the banner. "Lazarus..." Her voice drifted into a lullaby as she said his name her breath moved in the rhythm of panic as she realized who he was. She brought her hand close to his chest wanting to grab and scream until she went insane as to why he wasn't there. Tears drowned her eyes as she brought her hand down into a fist, grabbing both of her daggers refusing to listen to the demands of others. Her blade began to turn crystal blue as the blue fire rose from them.

She stood onto the podium, she looked down at the guild members with pride. Her focus remains on Vox, her tears dripped onto her lips as anger filled her. She took a breath before she spoke to him, "Vox...I only want one thing from you.." Her eyes darken, her voice twisted in blood lust, "Let me kill him, it is the only thing I ask of you. I was his...wife." Andromeda in a matter of seconds let go of her anger at Vox and knew in her heart she had to protect him in honor of her husband. Her attention was seduced into another direction it was a hissing sound of Marcus's name, as pale creatures crawled and scattered around them. But, Andromeda didn't care for any of them, she only looked for one man in particular. There was one thing that was fun in regard to fighting a vampire especially of you knew their human life before. She stepped down from the podium and stood by Vox's side, how to expose a vampire one knew is to pull at their human memories of happiness. By turning that happiness into a fouled one, changing its future into something their human selves would grow depressed over. She softly raised her voice, "I am looking for Lazarus...my husband...I want him to know that I am happy and with someone who can protect me and love me better than he could ever. His name is Marcus, Marcus Mestoph...." She smirked with her dagger at the ready, "Your brother..."

Sarah's face grew tight when she heard the child's voice, her sword raised up in a two handed grip. "Ignore the crying, its a trap. Either one of them is mimicking a child or its a kid vampire laying in ambush." The swordswoman figured most of the others would know better, but Ellida appeared young enough to still be idealistic about the world.

When Andromeda made her taunt, Sarah couldn't help but grin a bit. With any luck it would have its desired effect and cause some of the vamps to act hastily and leave themselves vulnerable. Glancing around she tried to keep alert for any taking the bait, strands of wind starting to gather around her blade and body.

Seraphine felt shivers down her spine as the room became cold. The room was now crawling with vampires. The child's voice carrying through the crowd didn't bode well. Listening to the taunts and assessments from the group, Sera stood by them and waited for the first of the vampires. But one statement made her feel strange. Her heart felt oddly heavy, what a strange feeling...

But this feeling wouldn't help them in this situation. Completely unnecessary. Squashing that weird emotion and redirecting that energy from her heart, she could feel the familiar sensation in her left arm. The tingling reached her fingertips, and she felt the slightest bit of warmth being emitted from her hand.

Looking around, she could see the faces of the newly turned. Twisted and mangled. Their poor souls now ruined by tainted blood. The horrors that converged on this wedding day were not silent. Their throats screamed pain and torment; their mouths now bore warped smiles. Seraphine's hand warmed even more, and in the palm of her hand sparked heat and the drive to give Andromeda some form of peace.

The prospect of a looming battle made Tilabran grin. The idle history Vox and Andromeda didn't interest her much. Cousin, brother, relative, whatever he was is dead and gone...well, more like in a state of death. Soon he would be dead, whether by the hands of his wife, Vox, or Tilabran herself. Andromeda's request gave Tilabran an ounce more of respect for her. Pushing away those useless emotions, like love, would make her a more valuable ally. The real test would be following through. Tilabran glanced at Andromeda. Would she be able to strike down the man that was once her husband? Humans were slave to their emotions.

The child's sob reached her ears and a chill ran down her spine. It would certainly be a trap, and she hoped none were foolish enough to fall for it. If the child was alive it would be a miracle. Tilabran didn't want to take the chance of making sure either it was alive. She pulled out her dual swords, the sound of the snake blades rattled. "I hate children," Tilabran said as her muscles tightened. Vampires hardly had self-control and it would decrease ten fold with the amount of blood in the room.

Ellida's memory is refreshed as she hears the tale of the Mestophs again, one of the many families she had researched. It was a pretty amazing thing that she was currently fighting alongside not one but two of them. This fight was going to be a lot easier since she was surrounded by strong, capable people. Heavens, even she could feel her fighting spirit rise. She could do this. She won't mess it up.

Then she heard the child. Her heart stopped beating for a second, eyes widening. Was that an actual child? A chill ran down the elf's spine and her hands trembled. She took a step towards the sound. Maybe, just maybe. Her mind was screaming no but her body was doing something else. Ellida then heard Sarah's warning and Tilabran's rather cold statement. They both said the same thing in different ways; It was a trap. She should've known that. Taking a step back, Ellida pulled out her dagger and glared at the darkness

"Zitsol"

Muttering the Elvish swear word and taking a step back, Ellida pulled out her dagger and glared at the darkness, trying her best not to give in to her emotions. She wouldn't let them all down. She would fight and win.

From the shadows, the newborn horrors lunged at their prey in a blind fury. The words of Andromeda had struck a nerve in many of them. Instead of each vampire attacking one person, all five who made their first move all went for Andromeda. The light provided by Ellida gave everyone only a brief second to react, with the exception of the few in the group who could see clearly in the dark. Vox, being one of them, made the decision to grab Andromeda with both of his hands and lift her up above his head, out of danger. As a result, five swords impaled the death knight's body at various angles, each blade sliding in between the openings in his armor. Vox's expression twisted into one of pain and anger. He dropped to a knee, still holding Andromeda with all his strength. Two of the vampires were a pair of twin girls, Vox's cousins from his father's side. They looked no older than fourteen, dressed in blood-soaked and shredded gowns. The third, one of Vox's older second cousins, while the fourth and fifth were the adoptive parents of Andromeda. The sight of the newly undead Mestophs was a bloody and horrible one.

Vox threw Andromeda back towards the others, and at the same time, five more vampires made their move, each one going to attack an individual member of the group. Two from above, and three from the side. Despite them being newly undead, the combative experience of the undead Mestophs was plainly seen. The attacks were made with the personal weapons of each Mestoph, and they moved like a unit.

The vampires the group was engaging with weren't as ordinary as assumed. Their eyes still held life to them.

To many the sight of a vampire rushing at them, sword in hand would be a terrifying sight. Sarah however couldn't help but note that while the undead man appeared to have some skill with the blade by the way they held it, his movements as he moved in to attack were still sloppy and full of openings compared to others she had fought with, and against. It also appeared that the vampire wasn't fully adjusted to his newfound speed and strength, causing a lack of control and precision in his strike against her, something that the swordswoman was able to easily exploit in order to parry the vampire's sword. Rather than trying to counter attack like the vampire was most likely anticipating, Sarah simply thrust her left hand towards the creature, fingers spread open as a ball of light formed in her palm. The shining orb shot forth and burst open in the vampire's direction, blinding the undead monster for several critical moments.

With that the air mana that had been gathering around her solidified into a haste spell, increasing her speed and reflexes to something that began to resemble what Sarah had before coming to this world. Utilizing her new agility, the warrior spun and moved with liquid grace towards the vampire rushing at Ellida. While she uttered no words of warning or anything else to help give her attack away, wind did gather around her sword as she swung the blade in a two-handed horizontal slash. Should the creature make the obvious and natural move of trying to jump back out of reach, the wind would be released as a blade of air for a ranged attack that would hopefully cut the vampire in half. Or at the very least wound it enough where the elf would be able to finish it off.

In moments like this, the world felt still and cold, and the only music in the world would be her attempting to catch her breath. Andromeda held her stance as she watched their eyes twitch between all of deciding who they were more curious with. She let her previous words each in their thoughts before the lunged for her. Andromeda squeezes onto her blades before she felt a grip on her waist before she was lifted from the ground. She groaned trying to keep sight of her targets, she watched as blades entered Vox. It had only fueled her anger as she felt him fall toward the ground. Andromeda could tell he was ready to throw her out of reach, before he did so. Andromeda threw her daggers into the chests of the two seemingly teenage vampires before her and Vox. Quickly moving her free right hand to a blade that was inside of Vox, pulling it with her as he launched her to the others. Andromeda stared at Vox’s blood on the sword before standing upright before being lunged into by another vicious beast. Andromeda growled as it gnarled at her, her sword had fell out of her grip as she was attacked. She had no weapon to give her aid. She had to think, and then it came to her. Andromeda stuck her hands in the beasts mouth and started to rip its jaw apart with as much strength as adrenaline could give her. She heard the snap of it jaw. Letting this moment give her the advantage to flip it over and gauge its eyes out causing her to scream as she was doing it. “WHERE IS HE? WHERE IS MY HUSBAND?” but the creature had stopped moving, Andromeda’s breath and quickened as her hair had cling to her teeth with spit, dirt, and fresh blood. She let her eyes drift around the room, standing up before stopping the creatures neck in for one last blow. She couldn’t wait any longer for the second one. She was gonna end them all.
