Dark and Stormy Night

Walking through the forest with a jacket pulled over his head, Silvius Wood cursed the rain and the thunder that boomed around him as he continued to call for his dog, Altar, who had ran off earlier that day in a sudden, crazed frenzy. He hadn't seen his loyal friend and companion since, so he was still searching even thought it had started to rain and the sun had began to go down. Now, he felt rather sure that his friend would be easier to find, since the thunder always had distracted him and made the husky stay in one place, for whatever odd reason. The dog was hard to understand, but had helped him on various occasions. Silvius continued to wander, calling the dog's strange name over and over again.

"Altar! Altar, where are you!?"

Diana slowly opened her eyes. All she could feel was pain. Her vision was blurry and she couldn't hear a thing. She tried to get up, but her body was two weak. Diana couldn't even lift her arm. She turned over. There was some sort of red liquid on the floor next to her. Blood.

What happened? she asked herself, Why am I bleeding?

(sorry it took so long for me to reply - I was incredibly busy with stuff)

Silvius continued to search for his dog. "Altar! Altaaar!" He called rather fruitlessly. He scratched the back of his head, messing up the dark brown hair that the rain made seem blacker than usual. Cursing under his breath, he stormed through the rain and looked left and right, not wanting to leave a single section of forest unchecked for his dog. But if he got in the general area, the large husky would probably make himself known. It was then that Silvius noticed a mass of red nearby, and quickly he ran over to the mass, unsure of what it was. When he got close, he realized that it wasn't any sort of object, but instead a girl! Kneeling by her side, he looked for signs showing that she was still alive. But, her eyes were open and she seemed to be looking around. "H-hello?" He softly asked, for the most part shocked at the sight.

((Don't sweat it, bro. :) ))

She heard a noise. Diana could only just make out what it was - someone was saying hello. She turned over to try and see who it was. As her vision was blurry, Diana could only make out a shape of a human being.

She opened her mouth to speak, but struggled to say anything. She attempted to wave, but she was to weak. There was silence for about 1 to 10 minutes. She didn't know how long it took.

Dang, Diana said in her head, I've lost my sense of time.

"H-h-h-hello?" she finally said.

Silvius looked around for somewhere that she came from in a panic. "Don't worry, I'm here, you'll be alright." He comforted her, unsure of what exactly she was feeling with her stuttered mumbles. Gently, he touched her shoulder and wished that he had cell service, or frankly, a cell phone at all. He didn't know how to deal with this! He looked over her, searching for major wounds and hoping that there was nothing internal injuring her. Should he carry her to his car and drive her into town? What was he to do!?

The person tried to comfort Diana. He reassured her that she would be ok, but his voice sounded worried. She felt him touch her shoulder. It hurt, but the pain went away quickly. She lied there, waiting for something to happen.

Since it was still dark and wet, Silvius finally decided on carrying her to his home so that he could get a better look at her and decide on further action. "I'm going to p-pick you up now, okay? It's all going t-to be alright..." He spoke gently, trying not to frighten her. Slowly, he put one arm around her back and the other under her legs, slowly raising her up and standing. "If you need anything, I-I'm right here. Just say the w-word...." His shaky words betrayed the fear, worry, and shock he held in his heart on top of the cold weather.

She felt the boy put his arms behind her and pick her up, She was scared. Well, of course she was. Diana had no idea what was going on. She didn't know why she was bleeding, why she was on the floor. She didn't even now why she was in the forest! The boy was gentle with her. His voice sounded worried and frightened.

Silvius dashed towards his small home as fast as he could without injuring the girl further. Using his upper body to shield her from the rain, he clambered through the steep mountain that eventually led to his home not much further on. "A-are you faring alright?" He asked, teeth chattering. He did hope she was still doing alright. Someone or something had obviously tried to kill her!

"A-are you feeling alright?" the boy asked her.

She found it hard, but she spoke to him.

"Y-y-y-es, I-I'm f-f-fine," Diana lied, as he clambered though a steep mountain.

"I'm sorry!" He apologized, her stutters letting him know that no, she was not in fact fine. His home finally coming into view, he could see his lamp on in one of the windows. Soon enough, he was at the door and opening it the best he could without banging the girl's head on the door. He apologized once more as he walked into the small home. "I'm s-sorry."

As soon as she entered the warm room, Diana felt a wave of relief.

"I'm s-sorry," the boy said.

"Why are you sorry?" she asked.

Diana know had her voice back. She spoke with no hesitation.

"That I c-can't carry you really that gently," He said, finally warming up as he headed into the entryway and went down the hall a bit before turning right, carrying the girl into his living room. He set her down gently on his couch. "I'll be back in a minute!" He said, heading back into the hall-entryway and going towards his kitchen. Soon, he returned with a rag and a bowl of water. He took out the rag, wrung it, and began to wipe some blood from her face. Now that he had sufficient lighting, he saw the extent of her injuries.

Diana closed her eyes as her wiped the blood of her face. She hadn't realized just how bad her injures were - she thought there was just abit of blood on her back, but she was covered head to toe. As the boy continued wiping the blood, she tried to remember jut what had happened...

Darkness. That was all she could remember.

Silvius continued to tend to her, deciding that when she was well enough she would have to go take a bath to get all the blood off. But, for the moment, he continued to dab the blood from her face as gently as he could. Was he supposed to say something? Or was that not a good idea? Silvius had never really been the best medic, and inwardly, he was panicking at the seriousness. But, no matter what he felt like, he couldn't actually call an ambulance or anyone to come and get the girl and give her better care.

A cat wandered into the room and sat by the couch that the girl lay on, meowing as if concerned as well.

She heard a meow. It seemed that a cat had curled up at Diana's feet. Very much like the boy who was taking care of her, the cat sounded concerned. Feeling a little better from before, Diana suddenly sat up.

"I-I-I'm fine," she said.

She sighed deeply.

Glad that her wounds weren't as bad as he had originally thought, Silvius breathed a breath of relief. "Should I get you something to drink? Juice? Water?" He asked, still concerned despite what he had just witnessed. She was okay, but he couldn't be sure that she still wasn't in danger.

The cat nudged her feet gently, meowing concernedly once more.

"Umm... just some water please..."

Diana looked around the house. It was cosy, that's for sure.

"Yes!" Silvius nods, dashing back off to the kitchen across the hall and getting a cold glass of water for her. He set it on his coffee table next to the place where he had set her d0wn. "Is there anything else I can get you?" He asked.

"No, I'm fine," she replied as she took the glass of water.

She smiled at the boy who was currently looking after her.

"Umm... I'm Diana by the way."

She held out her hand to greet him.

Silvius shook her hand. "My name's Silvius Wood." He spoke with a friendly smile, as the cat let out a meow, as if saying 'Hellooooo? Forgetting someone?'

He looked toward the cat. "That's Walter. He's a silly kitty." He used his other hand to pet the black and orange spotted cat's head. Silvius chuckled. Walter meowed annoyedly.

Diana chuckled and smiled.

"Nice to meet you, Silvius," she said politely, "And you to, Walter."

Walter meowed to Diana, accepting her with a gentle headbutt. Silvius looked to her intently. "So, what happened to you? How did you wind up abandoned in the forest?" He asked, a bit worried of why someone was against her so.

"I- er- I don't know what happened..." Diana said, "All I remember is- well... Nothing..."

Walter meowed and curled up with her. She smiled and stroked the cat gently.
