Glossary

World Terms

  • Currency: Takes the form of metal coins. Poppies are the less value of currency (akin to copper), Foxtail is a more medium of currency (akin to silver), and Amaranth is the highest form as a rare red-gold metal.
  • Time: Known by either Rising or Falling, from 6pm to 6am. From 6pm and onwards, it is considered hours after the 'Fall', so 2 after the fall would be 8pm. From the rising, it is 2 after the rise, or 8am. Fallen Hour is 6pm, and Rising Hour is 6am.

Creatures

  • Cy-horse: A biological horse with cybernetics. They have longer lives than regular horses, and greater strength and speed.
  • Sirens: Carnivorous creatures that tend to live on small islands or rocky outcroppings. They have wings rather than tails. Their voices are known to lure people to them to be devoured.
  • Vampires: A long-lived race that burns in the sun and in fire -- known for creating many advancements and leading society, up until recently.
  • Humans: That by which all others are compared.
  • Dhampir: The half-human, half-vampire creature with all the weaknesss and strengths of both race, to varying degrees.
Plants

  • Ersetu: The World Tree.
  • Minder: A minty, purple plant. Good in tea.
  • Lilids: White flowering plant with a single bloom on a stalk -- and one single white, tear-shaped petal, that droops over the column.

Religious Terms

  • Bark of Ersetu: The Holy Book of the Ersetuans.
  • Leaves of Ersetu: The followers (civilian) of Ersetu.
  • Branches of Ersetu: The now-extinct knights of the Faith.
  • Trunk of Ersetu: The community buildings where the faithful met.
  • Roots of Ersetu: The clergy of Ersetu; tended to take on family titles, like Father and Grand Father.
  • Marked: To be branded for a special purpose, as Gwaine Ivantes.

Locations

Solvit

Solvit was the home of Ersetu, the World Tree, that is now gone. It is the home of Gwaine Ivantes, and still the "center of the world" as the Renascence have set up their base there, under the Prodigal.

Hilbes

Hilbes is a major hub of progress, home to a major academy, and formerly the home of the vampire Reamun. It is also where a large Renascence presence is, looking into any information that Reamun may have left behind before his death.

  • The Hilbes Academy
Located near Main Street, easily accessible from a cobblestone walk. It has a three-floor library of top-to-bottom books, and a small reading garden just outside, with herbs like minder (lavender/mint type of plant, purple), basil, and others.

Ner

A port-town on the main capital. Sirens (pure-blooded) are known to stop in there, though this is still a rarity.

Deadwood

With Johnny Longgood as the mayor, after Vera Strauss was killed. Gwendolyn, a dhampir, also operates within Deadwood.
