Loquacious Adoration of Convoluted Vocabulary

"We live in dangerous times. We always have. Danger is paramount to living, we've known that for generations. And, ma belle péché, you must learn it too."

Let's start this! :)

--------------------

Boredom struck often these days. Sitting atop the skyscraper, legs hanging leisurely over the edge, he looked down and watched them, skittering along darkened streets. From this high up, it was impossible to know who belonged to who, where betrayals began and loyalties ended. The odd gunshot into the night gave the city a beat, a rhythm. One that was futile to predict. He pulled a violet strand from his hair and held it before him, inspecting the thickness and the colour in the moonlight. Drawing a knife from his belt, he drew the strand over the blade, and was satisfied when it hissed and snapped in response. It was still as deadly as it ever was. He turned, sometimes, to look at the door behind him, emblazoned with the crest of the Scorpius Ring - to be found here would make for an interesting conversation, one he would not complain to undertake. I wonder if they would notice a member gone missing...

The door swang open, as he had expected.

Pulling the cloth back over his eyes, Toxin gave that poisonous grin, and stood to meet them.

Gaius recoiled a bit at the oddly dressed man. At first he had some crazy ideas about what this man was doing on the roof dressed like he was, then he remembered the stories. stories told by lowly gang messengers who, most of the time, washed up on the concrete shores of the river. Gaius was standing in front of toxin. His eyes involuntarily darted around to find a weapon to use if it came to that. "Toxin? what a surprise." Gaius knew that toxin had been helping Kelsey Malory, and since he "worked" for Malory, he had to act like an ally. "we haven't met. my name is Gaius Black, Mallory's right hand man. i would shake your hand but I'm afraid i might die. would you like to speak to Mr. Mallory?"

Toxin sighed in what seemed like amusement, turning away. "Actually, I've just seen him." he smirked, flashing pointed teeth. "Don't fret, he is intact and unharmed. You can hear him tapping away on his desk below us. The sound is faint, but it is due proof he is as you left him."

He turned back to Gaius, taking a step towards him. "But what about you? What brings you all the way up here, where only observers tread? Surely you did not expect to find me here."

Kelsey sighed tapping his pen against the desk impatiently as he scanned the papers Toxin gave him detailing the affects of the new poison. It seemed to be improving nicely and if all went as planned they will soon have another Ace hidden away. Though this was good news it didn't seem to help ease the boredom that has recently plagued him. Giving up he swept the papers into his safe stood and grabbing his jacket headed for the front door."Crepsley!" He called impatiently near the front door. A graying stern faced butler appeared and bowed his head at him."Yes sir. What may I do for you?"

"I am heading into town to find something to amuse myself with. Will you fetch Gaius and tell him to meet me at the car?" It wasn't a question no matter how it was formed and they both knew it. Crepsley bowed deeply."Of course Sir."

Kelsey nodded satisfied then headed out and to the limousine that already sat waiting. Sliding he stared out the window idly allowing his mind to travel back to the first time he met his right hand man Gaius. It was a year ago maybe longer he couldn't remember exactly. Really all he could remember is what he thought of him when they met. He found him frightening and rough which made him wonder why his mother trusted him. The dangerous aura surrounding him has never really allowed him to fully trust Gaius regardless of the way he acts.

Sighing he shook himself of such thoughts. He needed to trust Gaius. Who knew what could happen in the future.

Scrowling he looked back out the window and just tried to keep his mind off such thoughts as he waited.

Gaius furrowed his brow at him. "I... uh I don't know, I just like it up here." Gaius was about to continue rambling like a love sick child when Crepsley showed up. Certainly Gaius could be compared to a love sick child, but only when talking about the filthy, scumbag city he loved so much.

"Mr. Mallory would like to see you in the car downstairs Mr. black " Crepsley said. So Gaius looked back at Toxin and descended the long staircase down. when he reached the ground floor he retained his gruff look. unimportant gang members gave him frightened looks and he paid no mind. he saw Kelsy's car out front and ducked in. He said nothing, and instead looked at Kelsey expectantly.

Kelsey looked up his expression cold as Gaius slid in the car. For a moment he just examined him taking notes on his posture and ticks. The air was tense as the silence lengthened and time passed. Finally after a moment Kelsey spoke looking back out the window unintrestly." I'm going into town and I don't know when I will be back. Until I get back you will be in charge. Make sure the men do nothing foolish and keep them in line. Stay out of my office and make sure none enter it. If something comes up you know how to contact me. That is all."

His voice was calm and cold as ice matching his expression. Patiently he waited for Gaius response still not looking at him.

His mother would be proud.

Gaius waited till he was done and simply said, "yes sir." and got out of the car. he was extremely relived that it was really just nothing. he wouldn't follow all the directions Kelly gave him, but he wouldn't know. Kelly had often gone out and Gaius had often taken the opportunity to gather Intel. so he went back into the building and made his way up to Kelly's office.

((Can we please have some more info on the Scorpius ring building?))

(still in the park my app described) Susan knelt beside the hooded man, his face painted crimson from the blood gurgling from his mouth. Placing two fingers on his pale, ashen throat, she felt for a pulse. Nothing.

Susan placed both hands on the scrawny man's chest, and began pumping rhythmically. While she had no concern for this man's life, she knew her superiors would kill her if a client were to die in her vicinity. The cracking of bones cut through the thick musk of the city night. After twenty meticulous beats, Susan cupped her hand around the man's chin, tilted it upwards, and pressed her lips against his. She cringed as she blew air into his mouth, for the foul taste of whiskey and regret filled her mouth. After berthing into the sickened man, she began pumping again, until with sputtering gaps the man rose. The man was completely inebriated, and to try and bargain with him would prove to be pointless. She quickly slid her hands into his pockets until her fingers met paper. Pulling out two hundred dollars, Susan hurled a small baggie filled with a pink, crystal-like substance at him. "I took an extra hundred for my time, you stupid fug" She yelled as she walked away into the dusk. "Better give this to Sharp before he skins me"

Kelsey watched the world pass by through the car window. At first there wasn't much to look at since they were on the edge of the city but soon it began to change to tall skyscrapers and bustling crowds.

The driver maneuvered the car through the city knowing were to go until eventually they made it to a small cafe with large windows full of teenagers. Kesley silently got out and began heading in when the sound of buzzing was heard stopping him short. Brows forward he pulled up his sleeve to reveal a high-tech device disguised as a watch.

It was actually an alarm that informed him when someone entered his office and had a small screen installed that showed him who it was. Courtousy of the motion senser and camera he had put in there yesterday while Gaius was away. If Gaius was stupid enough to think he wouldn't notice when someone entered his office he had another thing coming. Pulling his sleeve back down he slid back into the car and met the drivers curious gaze."Head back to the manor and be quick about it."

As they drove he slid a hand into his jacket and gripped the cool metal of his gun. His mother had trusted Gaius with her life. Even he had trusted him for a moment desiring to please his mother. He hoped that at the end of the day he wont have the maids be cleaning Gaiuss blood from the carpet.

((I thought we were already in the city and Gaius hadn't entered the office yet, besides, why would Kelly automatically assume it was Gaius?))

((I think we all got confused as to what was happening n.n If there are no more problems, let's continue! :3 ))

Well, if there is nobody willing to continue the story (it's been three weeks...) I think it's about time this roleplay came to an end. It was an interesting idea but I didn't have enough structure for it, in my opinion. This was my first roleplay, and really helped me to learn more about running one - I hope I can roleplay with you all again in the future. Ciao! :D
