General Overview
Hello there! My name is Dandelo! I'm seeking one or two partners for long-term roleplaying, either on this site or over Discord, Email, or GDocs. Admittedly I would prefer GDocs, but I'm trying to be accommodating. c:
Experience
I've been roleplaying for a little over 15 years. I wouldn't call myself "advanced" but would instead place myself solidly in the "intermediate" category, if we're going by the usual designations. My style is typically third-person, past tense, novella (I aim to give at least three good paragraphs minimum per reply).
I started out with wolf and horse roleplays on Neopets and gradually moved up to Medieval Fantasy and a select few fandoms. At the moment, I have a few characters I am trying to develop--a Medieval Fantasy OC, Erik from PoTO, and Rhett Butler from GWtW. I typically prefer to play female characters, but I have grown attached to these male characters and would love to get some more good experience with them!
Prospective Partners
My availability can change over the course of the month so I need partners with a certain degree of patience. I work a typical 9-5 job (more like 7:30-4:30 EST, actually) and make a good effort to have at least one reply out per day (typically in the morning). I'm pretty good about letting people know when I am busy.
I also need partners who are really into plotting. I want to spend a lot of time coming up with scenes and major plot points, and I really enjoy planning out character interactions in the form of quick-reply in either Google Hangouts or Discord. I can explain this better if you are interested, but I typically find it to be pretty fun!
Beyond that, I like partners who are just generally friendly. Roleplaying is my main hobby and my main source of friends. I want to hear about how your day is going and silly stuff like that. Let's get to know one another!
Character Preferences
I do tend to write certain personality types a little better than others, and there are certain personality types I really enjoy writing against.
For male characters, I generally write older (think 30s and 40s), gruffer men who tend toward Neutral rather than truly Good or Evil (but who develop a soft spot for someone over the course of the story). I enjoy playing opposite this type of male character as well. Beauty and the Beast comes to mind, and it's one of my favorite tropes.
For female characters, I generally write women in their 20s and 30s. They are often soft-spoken but stubborn and snarky under the right circumstances, and basically Good. I enjoy writing against this type of female personality, too.
I am happy to make an attempt at characters who tend toward the Evil end of Neutral as well.
[/div][div class="tabsContent tabsContentRules" style="display: none;"]1. MxF pairings only. I am open to doubling and am willing to play both male and female characters.
2. I need a minimum of three good paragraphs per reply. I find that this keeps things moving.
3. I'd like to aim for at least two replies per week. I'll settle for once per week if I really like you, though.
4. Romance is necessary in every plot. It doesn't have to be the focus, but I get bored without it.
..I think that covers most of it. Really I just want my partners to be respectful and friendly. This is supposed to be fun, after all. I want both of us to feel free to offer suggestions or feedback to one another as needed.
[/div][div class="tabsContent tabsContentGenres" style="display: none;"]- Medieval Fantasy
-
Medieval Fantasy is my favorite genre. I have an OC mage that I enjoy playing and would love to introduce to you! I typically expect a little world-building with this one.
Suggested Pairings
God(dess) x Mortal
Royalty x Knight
Royalty x Peasant
Royalty x Royalty
Feel free to suggest others~
- The Phantom of the Opera
-
The Phantom of the Opera holds a very special place in my heart. Besides being an obsession of mine, it was also my first long-term roleplay. I enjoy writing Erik against strong OC's rather than Christine, generally speaking. I also really enjoy writing an OC opposite him!
Suggested Pairings
Erik x OC Dancer
Erik x OC Singer
Erik x OC Patroness
Erik x OC Manager
- Gone With the Wind
- Disclaimer: I have not yet been able to find anyone to do a GWtW roleplay with me, so I don't have a ton of experience with the characters. I would really enjoy the opportunity to write as or opposite Rhett Butler, perhaps after he has left Scarlett.
