Futuristic Cypress Collegium

Prizzy Kriyze

Multiple Stab Wounds

imperial_space_station_commission_by_adamkop-d73mo9i.jpg

"Welcome to die" said the banners hanging in the hall. They were either a warning for the weak of heart, or a bad joke thought up by someone who'd spent too much time in their office. Despite the obvious lack in humour, they weren't wrong. Supposedly last year 30% of the first year students, 27% of the second year students, and 17% of the last year students died. Despite the best effort of the brave and competent staff of the academy, accidents still happened, and everyone who came here knew what they signed up for. They were either going to be elite soldiers, or dead.

???????????????????????????????????

?????
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Welcome Aboard, Student

Welcome to die indeed. You're one of the lucky few who've been accepted into Cypress Collegium. You've got (at least) three years of blood, sweat and tears ahead of you. Possibly with the addition of death, but everyone would be a lot happier if you avoided that. At least when you get out of here, you'll strike rich... Or not.

sci_fi_anime_classroom_by_ah_kai-d7lfraw.png

Cypress Collegium will treat you well, if you treat it well. The satellite is full of secrets and wonders, perhaps you will find something of an entirely different kind.

Now, it's up to you what you want to become. Maybe you will become a hero. Maybe you'll go on a epic conquest to rule this side of the galaxy and do what you will with it. Maybe you will find ancient, lost technology. Maybe you'll eat some waffles. Who knows? Everything is possible.

Schedule

First Day

9am-10am - Orientation

10am-11am - Everyone runs off to meet their teacher

11am-1pm - Lunch

The rest of the day is off, so that the students can meet their roommates and get used to the satellite.

Regular Day

8am-10am - Engineering/Combat

10am-11am - Lunch

11am-1pm - Martial Arts/Piloting/Cybernetic Mastery

1pm - 3pm - Psionic Focus/Exo-suit Mastery

Between 3pm and 6pm extra tutoring can be had from any of the teachers

School Activity Schedule

First week - Friday: Pairing and evaluation day. The whole day will be spent on Pandora, and caution is adviced. This ceremony is the most dangerous one out of all of them. The pairing part of the activity is yet unknown to students, as pairings are a new thing.

Second week - Wednesday: Collaboration Day. The pairings will be tested.

Third week - Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday: Preparation day(s). The annual grand duel is due soon, and therefore extra education in whatever your primary combat skill is, is available.

Fourth week - Friday: Grand duel. A local war academy (Which is way less prestigous) has challenged us to a grand duel. It would be beneath us not to accept. All students that want to may enter the competition.

(More to come)

A New Day

Alaric Edwards

Alaric stood on top of the entire satellite, looking out over all the ships and carriers coming to drop of students. His cybernetics were the only thing keeping him from being torn apart in the vacuum, chocking due to the lack of oxygen, and flying off due to zero-gravity. He smiled. He was excited for this year. After all, some graduates from last year were coming back to the academy to continue their studies and rise even higher in ranks. Maybe Septimus would finally have some equal opponents to fight. So far he'd only been offered people much stronger than him or much weaker than him. Poor guy.

Alaric turned and entered back into the satellite through the airlock. He needed to return to the large gathering hall, if he was going to hold the annual introduction.

Septimus River

Septimus stood in the middle of the enormous hallway facing the wave of students walking towards into the satellite. This was the only entrance, and every student who was going to attend had to walk through this hall. The banners saying "Welcome to die" seemed to scary a few of the students, but having them there was ultimately necessary. They weren't about to glorify what happened here. This was serious. People die here. You had to know what you were getting into from the very start.

A few gates were set up in the hallway, forcing all the students to go through the entry registration before entering the satellite itself. They had to make sure everyone was there after all. Staff members and servitors rolled around everywhere, trying to get the satellite's maintainence protocols over and done with. Septimus folded his hands behind his back as the wave of students got closer. He liked to see everyone's faces before seeing them in class. He offered a warm smile to everyone who sent him a glance.

Elliott Carell

Elliott stood tall by one of the gates, towering over most of the students. He'd been put there on guard duty, in case a fight breaks out with the students or the staff. Lots of these kids were from different cultural backgrounds, and had a different understanding of what was right and wrong. Fights happened a little now and then... But with an imperator watching over them, there was a very small risk of it ever growing into something dangerous.

His cold eyes scanned everyone, assessing how much of a threat they pose to the other students. Very few students gave as much as a glance to him, but that was fine. Elliott wasn't one for attention, and he had a certain pride in melting in to his surroundings. Besides, he didn't want the students to see where he was coming from. They might get delusions that they can do anything about him and do something stupid. Maybe they'd hurt themselves.

Amalia Calixis

Amalia hurried around, pointing staff in the right direction, setting up signs directing people to their dorms, directing people to the main hall where the orientation would be. The main hall was the core of the satellite, a large empty room that was the only part of the ship that couldn't reconstruct itself, and therefore the only safe area to be in when they descended to the planet below and had the satellite rebuild itself. Anywhere else you could get crushed by the moving metal.

She finally sighed deeply and sat down on a wooden stool under the signs at the wall on the end of the great corridor leading into the satellite. She gave a tired smile to passing students. She'd been up and preparing this earlier than anyone else, and everyone appreciated her for it, though she was tired.

The RP has officially started!

Everyone please go through registration and find your dorms, then finally report to the

main hall for orientation.

Illya's attention flicked from one thing from the next as she headed down the hallway, taking in just how big and shiny everything was. She hadn't seen anything like this in her life before, Munov had nothing on this place, the only way you could get a sense of scale like this in that cesspool was by hanging out in one of the dingy-ass caves that were all over the place, and even those couldn't compete with just how surreal being in a space-station this advanced was. Yeah. Coming here was definitely the right idea.

After passing through registration Illya headed out to find her room, getting a little lost on the way before she figured out where the heck the elevator was to actually get to the right floor. Getting to the elevator, she was glad to see that it seemed to be vacant, presumably because the other students had already gotten to their rooms, or were even worse at finding their way around than she was. But regardless she was happy that she wouldn't have to talk to anyone yet, as, even with her perky demeanor, she still wasn't quite used to talking to people, and usually just ended up being needlessly rude to anyone she tired chatting with.

As the ping of the elevator sounded out Illya headed towards her room, which, thankfully, was far easier for her to find than the ride up was, and dumped her bags on one of the beds, before slumping down on it, relaxing before she headed out to whatever this orientation thing was supposed to be.

Silas towered among the steady stream of student exiting the shuttle and herded like cattle into the hall. He stood out like a sore thumb amongst the student as most decided to give him a fair berth. Those that did approuch him mistook him for one of their instructors asking for directions, it didnt bother him much and he was happy to help. He would smile at the look at their face when they realized he was one of them and in fact was, at least by years, the youngest amongst all of them by a wide margin despite being a senior. He pushed by the other students who stared in awe at the grand satellite's appearance and the threatening banners, having seen enough in the past, and got himself registered. Once done he headed for his room finding it without difficulty and merely dropped of his thugs before going back to orientation.

Nastya repeated the dorm number in her head, 36B. Registration had been easy, but rushed, like it had been the previous year. There were hundreds, if not thousands of aspiring students. Many more than there had been in the past year she had spent there. The corridors and passageways were similar to those of the ones in her home on Avalon with chrome coloured walls, and almost everything was made of metal. She ran her synthetic hand through her hair and sighed. She was used to her artificial limbs now, they gave her an advantage and she even thought they made her look just a little awesome, but the people here had seen her with real skin; had seen the parts of her face which were now covered with circuit boards. She had changed since she had last seen them, not just physically, but mentally. She knew she had to take this place more seriously, whether she liked it or not. Seeing all of those old 'friends' was a daunting prospect and she had no doubt in her mind that she would have to retell the story of her 'accident' more than once.

The corridors were raging with people, and she just wanted to push past them and get into her dorm. Feeling slightly claustrophobic, she spied the number of her dorm and squeezed in through the door, closing the chaos behind her. She stood in the room, looking around. It wasn't too bad, and it was far nicer than her room back on Avalon. If she was honest, the whole satellite was. It wasn't cosy or comfortable, but hard and everything was shiny. It was the way she liked it; it meant no one would slack off or get too comfy.

She pulled off her backpack and let it slide to the floor. She sat on her bed and sighed. Surprisingly, there was a mirror in her room-a luxury she had not been given the previous year. With a curious look in her eyes, she stood up and walked towards it, studying the wires in her arms; the tiny, almost invisible bolts that enabled her to have an
almost normal life. She ran her hand up the metal, all the way up to where it met her collar bone, and ended, with a piece of torn skin. She flexed her hand and tugged her shirt further down, so that no one would be able to see the ugly join of metal and skin.

She pulled back her umber hair into a pony tail and took in a deep breath. She opened the door, and the bulging crowd had gone down a little. She put on a fake smile and made her way down to the Main Hall, knowing that Orientation would be held there.

Crossing his arms he looked over all the students that were beginning to form up for orientation. So many fresh new faces, so many hopes and dreams, and so many potential causality forms to write up to their friends and family. He was not looking forward to that aspect of his job. Then again he’d had to write and sign more than a few letters himself. He’d commanded men, sent them to their deaths…but those were soldiers, these were teenagers a few young adults. Everything he’d learned in the real world fighting on the front lines would have to be distilled, passed on, so that maybe these students would be able to go back to something. Though right now there was little danger at the moment. Right now he just had to worry about dealing with was an orientation. He couldn’t help but laugh internally though, He seemed calm right now, he couldn’t wait to see their reactions in the classroom when he went into drill sergeant mode.

Dylan Akarev

The great thing about being dirt poor, you don’t have a lot of stuff to carry around. Dylan adjusted his bag that carried most of his possession,. It was the same process he’d had done for two years now. His first year had been tough; he’d almost been part of the 30% at least 2 times. The second year he knuckled down, went to work, he’d avoided the threats and promises of death by caution and patience. Now was year three, if he could make it here, then he’d have a good chance of really getting somewhere in life, no more slumming it back home, no fighting with the junk bandits for resources. He went through registration headed up to his assigned room and threw his bag on his bed. Though before he headed to the elevator he looked out the window, seeing deadly wonder that was Pandora, “We meet again. Hopefully you won’t be my tomb. Maybe also you can give me some of that Archtech you hide…” With that he headed down to the orientation room.

Kane carefully moved between the many new students, some even backing away from Kane.

It wasn't a first for him, not a lot had seen a Ka'vashin. Kane quickly went through the registration. He walked down the corridors, his eidetic memory kicked in, remembering the halls clear as day.

Kane finally reached the door to 36A, just quickly enough to see someone tall walk out and move towards the orientation meeting. Kane waited for a while and then continued through the door. Hard, sharp and high tech. The housing haven't changed since last time, still it was better than any average apartment. Kane placed his two bags on a table.

Kane turned around moved to the door and out to the crowd of students moving to their rooms and towards the orientation. Kane followed the rest to the orientation. A new year a new day. He thought and kept a lookout for any of the "old faces" Still it had been quite some time and Kane himself had been doing quite a few things in his sparetime, still with the memory link it shouldn't be too much of a problem to atleast recognize a face.

Lamya's eyes scan across the crowd of students being herded into the hallway looking around at the new pack of students this year brought in. Some looked excited while others were definitely on the worried side after reading the infamous banner. She kept her expression rather neutral unless she saw someone she knew, then a quirky grin would be plastered upon her face in greeting before continuing on. She raises an eyebrow at a few people who stared too long, humans seemed to be undoubtedly the most curious creatures she had ever met. Not that she didn't get stares from others in her experience it seemed to be mostly humans but they seemed to be the majority here anyways. She didn't quite understand why she stood out, in her opinion she seemed to blend in with the interior of the satellite, her blueish tinted skin and the fact she wore cool colored clothing didn't make her stand out in that regard against the metallic decor. Though she enjoyed colorful things she knew that having them as part of her attire wasn't a flattering look for her and her tattoo was the only exception to that. Though it could be here height and horns that were a bit of a shock to some, not to mention her gaze. She'd be rich if she had a nickel for every time someone asked if she was blind; seriously, who was blind in this day and era? She adjusts her large dufflebag on her shoulder and shifts the silver birdcage with Maurice in it to her other hand, a big contrast in color compared to herself, as she signed in for registration, quite fluid with the whole process since it was her fourth year at the collegium. She usually didn't keep Maurice in his cage but in large crowds with people she didn't know she didn't dare. He wasn't a very large bird at all and wasn't going to risk something happening to him, usually he would be found on her shoulder during lunch at times but the chaos of the registration process was another story. She's had him for about six years now, he was the one thing that got her through her first year here when she didn't know a soul.

She glances down at the piece of paper that her dorm's location written on it before making her way to 37B wondering if she'd get a roommate or roommates that would be newbies or be on the same level as she was, or perhaps somewhere in between. She sets her dufflebag down, always one to travel light since she didn't own very many items and she wasn't a materialistic person to begin with. Which coming from a rich background seemed to make people one way or another, either drawn to materialistic things or not caring about them. She sets Maurice's cage down on what she claimed to be her dresser and opens the gate to let him. He hops out with a melodic chirp similar to that of a lark's. She turns and makes her way to the main hall for the inevitable orientation, nearly able to quote it word for word herself at hearing it three years in a row. She finds her spot in the crowd that was forming as everyone was bottle-necking from the hall to their rooms and soon into the main hall, her gaze still neutral as she examined the others in the room while waiting for orientation to begin.

Finally, Aiden was coming back to the war academy as a Leginnaire. His dream of becoming a Taellectarii was getting closer than he had previously thought. First, though, he would have to keep on pushing his limits, and surviving the most dangerous planet known to mankind; or at least known to everyone in the war academy. It wasn't just humans that inhabited Cypress Collegium, though. Aliens that are already known to mankind, and some aliens that no one else has even heard of, are all grouped up with the humans here in this academy. Aiden actually felt a little nervous to see who his roommates will turn out to be. Maybe someone he had come to know from last year? Or someone he had already met when they first started their education here at Cypress Collegium? No matter who it was, he just hoped that they wouldn't be a handful.

As the shuttle's doors opened up, the students, old and new, stood from their seats and moved into the academy to get themselves registered, find their dorm room, and make their way into the main hall for orientation. Same old drill as always. Aiden gripped onto his luggage as he walked out of the shuttle, got himself registered as quickly as he could, and moved on to his dorm. Room 37A to be exact.

Once he got there, he noticed that someone had already beat him to the room. Sadly, they were not hanging around in the room at the moment. Probably felt rushed and went on to the main hall. Aiden shrugged it off as he picked his bed, and gently placed the luggage bag on top of it. The luggage bag carried usb cables, and a battery charger, among his personal items. Those two are vital to him, however, since without them, both his arm and eye would not work at all. The price for having high quality cybernetics, he figured. As he gave a quick glance at the room, he cleared his throat and softly nodded as he stepped out of the room and began making his way down to the main hall.

Finally home. Jade grinned to herself as she stepped off the ship and onto station. She adjusted the pack on her shoulder as her eyes wandering through the crowed. Eye scanning the different cybernetics and tech people had brought with them. First day was always the most exciting. New students meant new cybernetics to ogle and learn about. Faces and organic bits never much interested her so she usually remembered people by what tech they had as oppose to hair color or odd tentacles. Someone with a high quality arm past by her and her gaze lingered a bit before frowning. Soldier, no one she recognized so they were new. Wonderful arm horrible maintains. She shook her heads feelings bad form the arm but hoping it would get some tending to soon.

"Jade, we need to go to registration first then then dorms."

A digital voice cut through her train of thoughts. She focused in her scattered mind to the purple ball floating inches from her nose. Jade sighed softly "Right, right." She nodded before continuing to follow the flood of students. She looked around at all of the students while waiting in line excited to start her first year of specialized training. Unlike most students here she had already survived the first three years. An accomplishment all on its own, though it mostly had to deal with the hot headed team mates who would gladly act as bait while she focused the objective was. The school was meant for the strong and smart, not the prideful and stupid.

Thankfully the line went quick and Jade moved off into the main station but frowned slightly when she saw that most of the paths not leading to the dorms had been blocked off. Her shoulder slumped slightly irritated by the development. Why did she need to check in a the dorms? She hardly spent any time in them the three years she had attended the academy, instead she was in the labs toiling away on school work and projects. Honestly they should have just rented out a lab for her instead of bothering with a dorm room. Storage was the only thing a dorm was good for. She followed the crowds up to the dorms the number 37B was chirped in her ear by Digit as she approached the elevators.

She weaved through the crowds of students who irritatingly lingered in the halls gabbing away. She managed to find the room and opened the door. She spotted two other beds with stuff on them. One of them had a strange girl with horns on her head. New species interesting but only slightly. She paid no mind to the strange girl figuring she was just asleep and plopped down her large backpack onto the bed. Turning on the heal of her boots and left the room as quickly as she entered it to head down to Orientation. Then hopefully she could check to make sure her other belongings had arrived safe and sound.

K'ritan humans and their damn writing. Hunter thought as he filled out his phonetic name on registration: 'Sa-EEL-keel-AH-tah' and... what? 'Surname'? What the k'rit is this rali? Hunter looked at the example form, not getting any help from that, species name was the only thing Hunter could think of. 'Ba...si...tin'... there. Hunter scrolled through the form, looking at all the other words to read and places to write in. Rali...

Several minutes and some second thoughts about this school later, Hunter managed to fill out the registration form, and with a little time to spare before orientation. Scanning the corridors for directions, he found some. On signs. In word form. "Ki'ilak'ritan sra'ikat!" Hunter exclaimed, much to the surprise of a few passerby. Luckily, few souls off planet-side recognize Basidian, let alone understand it, and one would be hard-pressed finding written record of a solely verbal language, so Hunter was most likely safe.

Aimlessly wandering the corridors, Hunter happened upon the barracks dorms. Military life sticks with a guy. He looked at the registration ticket that had his room assignment on it, then looked for stairs. Lazy ra'kachara and their elevators. Hunter seethed, forced to wait idly as the light melody played in the elevator. When the doors finally opened, Hunter practically leapt out, eager to be doing something other than standing once more. Those look like the right characters on the label, good enough for me, Hunter decided as he strode through door 37A, brushing past the two present inhabitants of the room.

Hunter removed his satchel from his back, putting it on a table near the door. It wasn't that he trusted his roommates, more that he had all the deadly and/or sentimental stuff hidden on his person, the bag was mostly hygienic implements. Before he left the room he made quick mental notes of possible ambush locations, potential surveillance device locations, and the restroom location.

Turning on his pad, Hunter reluctantly went back to the elevator, past a female with a strange droid, and sent the elevator down, not asking where the other people in the elevator were going. "That purple thing isn't going to shoot me or blow up, is it?" Hunter inquired as he leaned against the wall by the elevator controls, swishing his tail back and forth in anticipatory frustration.

Jade made her way to the elevator a list of preparations and projects running through her head as she awaited its arrival. A familiar ding went off and she made her way in inside of the sleek shiny elevator finger prints already smudged all over the metal from the countless of students that had already passed. Thankfully they all seemed preoccupied with their social lives and catching up to return downstairs for orientation. Gossip and banter most of which was boring or unrelated to what was important.

She looked up as someone else entered the elevator, she blinked a few times seeing the strange creature. Very furry, feline in nature, long tail... and looked angry? More importantly he had no cybernetics!? While not completely unheard off it was still very strange for someone not to have any kind of enhancements of some nature. Hm perhaps they were well hidden? There was also the possibility that he could not afford them, anything of poor or common quality would do more harm then good so it made sense for someone of little means to not have any. However a school like this it was fairly hard to complete with others when they could shoot lazers and electricity. Then again he was an strange species perhaps they didn't work? She blinked as he spoke up then glanced over to Digit floating harmlessly by her side.

"Duraframe Intelligent Gofer Itinerant Timetable weaponry is not standard in this model. There are other who possess stun weaponry however never anything lethal. This model here is a secretarial bot, lots of reminders and updates. Wonderful for keeping notes and assisting with strange languages." She rambled in a factual tone.

"In short, No. I am not equip with any weapons." The purple bot answered simply. "I am D.I.G.I.T. for short."

Jade blinked realizing she had broken social norms and being rude. "Ah yes and I am Jade. Nice to meet you."

Dylan had barely gotten into the elevator when it closed behind him, Alright made it through the door just in time. He payed no attention at first to the other occupants of the elevator. He leaned on a wall, and closed his eyes waiting for the usual ding to signal the floor had been reached. Pausing he listened in the the conversation going on. A familiar voice though caught his attention, Hmmm, overly complex explanations of mechanics when a simple sentence would suffice. Mention of a purple floating thing. Tone that sounds like an audio catalog for an electronics store... gee I wonder who could that be?

His growing suspicion of the other occupant in the lift was confirmed with a robotic voice simplifying the explanation she just said. He opened his eyes and nodded Red hair, prosthetic limbs. 5'6", Yup it was her. "Jade, you have not changed a bit from last year." He let out a slight chuckle, pushing himself from the wall "If it wasn't for DIGIT, i'm fairly certain you'd confuse everyone on this station but the tech department. Even then, I'm pretty sure you lose some of the Hastati every now and again."

The 'understanding strange languages' portion irked him, but when Hunter heard the words 'not standard' used in answer to his question about armaments he became tense. He was no expert on human syntax, but 'not standard' generally implied 'but this one has them'. Not wanting to test if the right of challenge held true here, Hunter simply put a hand on his pulse baton handle just to the left of the small of his back. He mirrored the hand placement with his other arm so it seemed as though he were adopting a more open stance. A risky move, as it could leave him defenseless should one of the other elevator passengers strike at his core, but necessary in order to conceal his weapon. A combatant familiar with Basitin body language would have noticed that Hunter's tail now hung lifeless and ignored behind him to focus attention on his surroundings, and his ears were instinctively pulled back to protect from battle damage, but before the mysterious drone could attempt anything, the elevator dinged and the doors slid open, revealing a corridor on the main floor.

Hunter gestured his head towards the door to indicate that he would wait to exit, which for humans is considered a sign of respect, but for Basitin is a distrustful action. Before waiting long enough for the average human mind to process his gesture, he conceded "Fine," and padded around to wait by the elevator doorway, ready to trail their paths. He refused to verbally acknowledge that he was unsure of where to go, as this could be taken as a sign of weakness, but Hunter was lost, and these people hadn't attacked on sight and gave signs of having been on this satellite before, so perhaps there was room for a tacit agreement of guidance... for now.

Jade tilted her head slightly to the other person who had entered the elevator along with them. She noticed a shift in the strange cat persons stance but wasn't really versed enough to understand what it mean. She stared at the boy who had addressed her in a friendly manner recognizing his voice and the small white spider-bot that was on his shoulder. "Ah it is not my fault if they are not well versed in the universal language of technology." She replied with a shake of her head. "Still it is nice to see you again as well... uh... Di-Danial." She greeted unable to really remember his name. She was familiar with his work, most of it with the use of scraps and low grade salvaged tech. His work was passable and sometimes very good in quality though.

The ding of the elevator drew her attention. "Off to orientation then." She smirked slightly nodding to the cat person as she exited into the lobby once more.

@Der Kojote @The Kaosophile

Dylan looked at her with a perplexed look, the effect of her missing his name wasn't so much a slap across the face as it was a reminder of how Jade operated. He had to work in machine shop sometimes while she was. Multiple times during those periods he'd hear DIGIT remark for her to do the important things...like eating, and sleeping... and BREATHING. He cradled his forehead in his hand. "Jade... it's Dylan. The name is Dylan." God she really hasn't changed at all. Girl has more gears in there than grey matter. Smarter than me when it comes to tech sure...but really one day her lack of social sense is going to get her in trouble. Or embarrassed. Wait? Can she get embarrassed?

He saw he exit the lobby and he turned to the unfamiliar alien. He'd never seen...whatever he was before. His home-planet was the garbage heap of the Galaxy, an overflowing cornucopia of the desperate and destitute, and never once did something looking like him turn up. He decided to try and politely begin a conversation, "So you new here? Oh, Dylan Akarev by the way."

As Aiden walked down the hallway; and nearly following another guy to the elevator, he began thinking about whether or not he should have his cybernetics checked up for readjustment or not. Mostly for his arm. For his eye, he'd have to find out if there's a newer model or not. Holy... I actually haven't checked since the start of last year... Aiden thought to himself, slowing down his walking pace a little bit.

Because he got lost in his train of thought, he realized that the man he was "tailing" had already slipped into the elevator ahead of them. Aiden tried to move as quick as he could after noticing the elevator doors closing. And just when he got close enough, the accursed door closed right in front of him. "Shit..." Aiden muttered as he vigorously tapped on the external control panel to call the elevator back up. Thankfully for him, there was another elevator door right beside the one he had missed, but nothing came up yet. He knew, being the first day of the first week here at the academy, that the elevators will be heavily used throughout the day.

Of course, all Aiden could do was go back to his dorm room, pick up his usb cable, sprint back to the elevators, open up the external control panel, plug in his usb; which will allow for him to open up a "gateway" between his prosthetic eye and the elevator system, and have this exact elevator come right back up for him. All of this being done from his right eye! Well, at least the whole "bringing back that damn elevator" part. And of course, it would piss off whoever was in there...

Deciding against this idea, Aiden waited patiently for the other elevator to open up. And when it did, he quickly hopped in, and had the elevator make it's way down.

Illya was lulled awake by the sound of chirping, slowly sitting up as she pushed back the urge to go back to sleep, while she remembered just what was going on. Had she? Oh god she had. She'd gone and fallen asleep. She'd gone and fallen asleep right before the orientation. A few moments later she was scrambling out of the door, wondering why her roommates, who had clearly been there judging by the luggage, and the bird, that had shown up in the room while she was taking her little nap. She'd definitely have to take it up with them later.

But now wasn't the time to worry about that, she had to bust her hump and get to orientation before it started, that is assuming that it hadn't been and gone while she was sleeping. Shaking those thoughts from her head she rapidly tapped the button to call the elevator, before hearing the sound of another elevators doors sliding open, and rushing in after the other inhabitant before they managed to close on her, leaning against the wall as she closed her eyes and sighed gratefully for the elevator showing up when it did.

Opening her eyes she looked over the other resident of the elevator, what looked to be a human, and smiled awkwardly as she greeted him. "Ummm.. Hey there... How's it going?"

Giving off a sigh of relief, Aiden crossed his arms and smiled. He'll most likely say something to the guy he was tailing for not holding the door for him, that's for sure. Not that he was angry about that or anything... I guess I'll just let that slide, Aiden thought as he scratched the back of his head. He's just glad the elevator he was in got there in time. Only the gods would know what would happen to him if he was late...

Merely seconds after entering the elevator, a young woman's voice kind of startled him, and he looked over his left shoulder, just across him. As the girl came into view, his right eye began giving out information on it's HUD, and he carefully read it. According to his right eye, she's a Devian, her obvious distinguishes being her horns and tail. He remembered having pass by the Devian home world before with his uncle. They couldn't orbit the planet and contact a space station for some refueling due to how... violent things were in the Devian society. He felt a little sorry for her for having to grow up in such a war torn planet. Sadly not everyone were born into the riches as he was.

"Oh, hey there. Sorry for not seeing you earlier." He responded as he faced her and bowed his head. That was a more "traditional" form of greeting he'd often do, due to his parents teaching said greeting to him. "You happen to be new here, correct?" He asked as he continued to read the information his right eye was giving him.

'Uh, Y-yeah, This is my first year here" She answered as she looked him over more closely, unintentionally staring at his cybernetics as she spoke, taken off-guard by running into someone with such advanced, well, advanced compared to what she'd seen, so early into her time here. Realizing she was staring she shook her head, shifting her gaze to the man's eyes. "What about you? I mean uh, how many years have you been here?" She asked hesitantly, not sure if it was considered impolite to go around asking questions like that before asking for a name, not taking into consideration the fact that he had done the exact same thing not a moment earlier.

"Oh! My name's Illya by the way, or Illyasviel if you want to be fancy about it" She said, introducing herself before she ran into any etiquette issues about giving out her name, or whatever else she could do to offend someone by not telling them what she went by.

Hunter glared daggers into Dylan's face, his peripheral vision scanning for vulnerabilities in Dylan's stance, finding several points that could lead to serious bleeding. Hunter slipped past Dylan, purposefully avoiding contact to try to convey the sheer disdain for the male without challenging him to open combat. Padding along behind Jade, as he had gleaned her name was, at a safe enough distance that she would not hear his near-silent footfalls, her drone he could not account for, but it seemed rather limited in capabilities, so far, at least. As the drone and its ward made their way to the main hall for Orientation, Hunter began picking up more and more vital signs. His ears twitched compulsively as he picked up several new heartbeats, and he automatically lowered his stance slightly to displace bodyweight, and slowed his pace to prevent making a sound beyond the light murmur of voices that steadily grew louder as the main hall grew closer. Hunter didn't bother trying to keep up with Jade anymore, he could feel the direction of the main hall in the pads of his feet, he focused more on judging general hostility and approximate numbers. As the grand room was upon the Basitin, the mood was somewhere between nervous and jovial, but the numbers were considerably more threatening. Somewhere upwards of a hundred fifty, perhaps up to three hundred individuals, not counting the inorganic beings, Hunter noted as he crossed the threshold into the assembly hall ...And not a single Basitin. I should feel alone, but... I have never felt so free. He stood near enough the entrance to be able to keep tabs on any entrants, far enough that he could not be ambushed from around the corner. Once in an appropriate spot, he stood at attention and awaited instruction from his new CO. While his body didn't move an inch, his eyes kept scanning other denizens of the room. He recognized the occasional species from his security work, but many of these strange creatures were... well, alien.

Jade glanced over to her fellow classmate as he corrected her and nodded slightly. "Ah, Sorry. It's been a while." She apologize committing the correct name to memory, short term at least. At least the first letter was the same which to her was close enough. Names and titles were always so bothersome to know. At this point Digit could keep track of such things while she focused her mind on more important things. While she had progressed a fair bit from her first year some social interactions she still struggled with. At least she was trying now which was an improvement from the complete antisocial girl who wouldn't even bother asking another persons name unless they were useful in some way.

She glanced back as the cat fell into step behind them before glancing back to Dylan "He seems nice." She muttered in a neutral tone. The quiet ones were always nice. "So have you made any improvements on your suit since last inspection?" She questioned curious as to any modifications had been made. There was no point to asking how the break was or if he had any fun she didn't much care for that, even if it was the supposed 'polite' thing to do.

The large entry way to the main hall drew close to them as the crowd packed in tighter. Jade glanced over the growing crowd seeing many creatures of all types and size cluttered in the room. "Hm... lot's of people this year. I wonder how many will survive this year. Last years numbers weren't too bad." She muttered absentmindedly.

@Der Kojote

Some sort of invisible speaker system:

"Attention! Orientation will start in 10 minutes. All personnel and students must report to the main hall. Repeat. Orientation will start in 10 minutes. Staying outside the main hall is at your own risk, and can have lethal consequences.

(Orientation speech comes when I get home)

Ms. Rayne

Rayne stood by, off to the side, observing the students entering the satellite, as her tails, banded together with a seemingly tribal wrap, swished back and forth lazily behind her. With her smaller figure, and lack of visually-detectable (for the moment) Cybernetics, she looked as though she may even be one of the students, aside from the cunning gaze with which she watched the students entering. She observed each and every individual student as they entered, nodding in acknowledgement to some of the students she'd seen in years prior, and placing mental bets on who would be the first ones to die (it's a talent of hers, really). Though the thought was definitely a bit more on the morbid side, it was a harsh reality one had to face, before they would succeed at Cypress.

Turning on her heel, Rayne left the entrance, heading immediately toward the main hall. Though she had enjoyed her vacation since they had last had class, it was time to get to work.

Erika

Alright, here we go. Erika was happy to be back. Thrilled, really. Though she didn't look the part, she had been anxious to get out of her father's house. His latest favorite daytime activity, was now asking why she hadn't yet reached Imperator status. Duh. Coming from her father, who, at the age of 47, had only attained a Legionnaire status (mainly due to the lack of drive caused by his immense financial success), the condescending questions didn't really mean much, if anything at all.

Erika stepped off of the shuttle, and quickly went through the registration process. Same routine as the two prior years. How... innovative. That thought in mind, she headed toward her room.

36-B

Great. Same room as last year. She couldn't help but smile slightly. Erika enjoyed consistency. It made everything else that much easier. From this room, she easily knew her way around the school, and to her various classes. Without having the pain of learning all of that over again, her studies should be easier than the year before, which was a relief. Cypress wasn't exactly a walk in the park.

Entering the room, she found another's belongings already on one of the beds. Which left Erika the same bed she'd had the prior year. How wonderful. She quickly set her bags down on the bed, and immediately left the room, heading down to the main hall, to await orientation.

@no one in particular. :D

Aiden nodded as the girl told him that he was correct with his "guess." He sure did remember how things were when he started... "Welcome aboard then. The first year is always rough, so if you need any help, I've got your back." Aiden said as he smiled at the girl. It's true, though. It definitely isn't easy to survive in a planet like Pandora, especially for the new kids. He had only hoped that this year's casualties won't be so high, not that it was that bad last year.

"Oh, this is my fourth year here. Honestly can't wait to see how this year turns out. Let alone being able to graduate into the Centurian rank by the end of the year." Aiden answered. The girl then gave him her name, Illyasviel. It sounded like a nice name to him, actually. "Illyasviel, I like it. My name is Aiden Zak Reacher, it's a pleasure to meet you." Aiden said with another bow, and almost as if on que, the elevator doors opened after a loud ding. Eager to get into the orientation in time, Aiden stepped out of the elevator.

As he did so, he noticed that over to his right; the elevator he had missed, he saw a small group entering the lobby. There was a little purple droid follow the girl of the group, which was kind of poking at his memory a bit there. But then he saw the guy that didn't hold the elevator doors open for him. Something about whether if that was on purpose or not started to make his stomach twist a little bit. "Hey you-" And almost immediately, the overhead speakers; thankfully interrupting Aiden before he confronted the other man, had announced that there's only ten minutes left before orientation begins. "I should just forget about that elevator thing..." Aiden silently muttered to himself. Then, Aiden quickly turned back and stared at Illyasviel.

"Come on, let's try not to be late on the first day now."
