These will not be tailored to any one character, nor will they have protagonist vibes. There's a beginning-middle-end to them, and the decisions made within them will decide your payout and whether or not you live or die. If you miss out on these it will push your own personal stories back, and it will remove your narrative impact on the other activities. I do understand needing hiatuses so missing one of two of these is fine, but if you miss the majority of them your name will not go down in the lights of Night City.

These missions aren't tied to your personal ones and neither do they have narrative stakes, and you can bring a friend or two to complete them. Just remember that you have to share the loot. You (guys) write and collab the mission, just send me the idea first to make sure that it isn't game-breaking, and at the end, I'll let you know what you've won. You'll always get something, the amount depends on the effort.

► Difficulty: LowmissiondowntimeDo you just want to roleplay as your characters in whatever setting(s) you want? Go to town. If you need any NPCs let me know. Otherwise, I leave it to your own devices. Please keep anything sexually or graphically explicit out of them, though. I don't mind if your characters bone down, just fade to black. And since it's 'downtime' keep the violence to the bare minimum.

► Difficulty: CasualmissionpersonalThere will only be one of these between missions, meaning it'll rotate between characters. The order is chosen based on joining time, ties to the narrative, and/or high participation. The more that you have of any three of those categories, the higher chance you'll have of me choosing you for the personal mission. They won't happen between EVERY Main Mission, and will definitely be absent for the first couple of missions. I'll have my hand in them, personally. It'll be a collab between us, and one other person of your choosing if you want.

► Chump Change- Not really a number of eddies offered, more like a status that you achieve if you spend all your eddies or don't participate in paying missions. Each main mission=one month of in-game RP, meaning a month of rent. If you have the chump change status by the end of the month, consider yourself kicked out of the RP (barring an understanding between you and me).
► Small- The basic amount of eddies to survive. Small is equal to one month of rent, utilities, and food. This is the equivalent of living paycheck to paycheck.
► Medium- You can live comfortably and have enough for spending money. This will get you rent and an inventory upgrade. (Two smalls make a medium.)
► Large- You make the other mercs look impoverished by comparison. This is enough for rent and an entire inventory overhaul, or rent and entirely new cyberware. (Two mediums make a large, and four smalls make a large.)
► Grand- This is not a number of eddies you can trust if you're given it outright. But if you build to it, you can retire without burning your life into the sky. (Four larges make a grand.) -

- tokens02tokenslike poker, except it's your lifechallenge▲These are Challenge Tokens. Basically, they represent your character overcoming a challenge—fairly straightforward forward, right? Now, what counts as a challenge? Beating an opponent or two, quick hacking someone, gaining access to a full system, repairing a door or breaking a door, tending to a wound, or causing a distraction. Now, you don't have to use one token for everything. Basically, they're a full round of whatever you're using them for, so movement, reloading, shooting, and finishing off an opponent all fall into one Challenge Token.
So, with that in mind, I'll set up a scene in the RP with various challenges to overcome, and I'll set the rating on it as well. Specific ratings will be lower depending on your role (i.e., a netrunner may need to spend only one challenge token to hack, whereas anyone else would be two to three). But nothing is impossible. You tell me what you want to do, and I'll give you the challenge rating, and you can spend your tokens or decide on a different plan. Then you let me know what you'll do, and I just let you have at it regarding writing. It's to keep us from having a back-and-forth in combat or characters seeming OP by taking out anything and everything. It's a storytelling element more than anything else.
Each gig, you all start with ▲▲▲. You will have chances to gain more as we move forward in the RP. Now, while that doesn't seem like a lot, anyone can help you, lowering the difficulty. Say the Solo and Law run into trouble, and there's a large group of scavs. The challenge is at a 3, but instead of burning through all of the Solo's tokens, the Solo and Law can half it, spending 2/1 in whatever way they want to. They then collab, taking out a whole room of scavs. You earn more through the gig by doing out-of-the-box things, but challenge tokens are not the only way to overcome a challenge. They have no ramifications.health♥While I don't like to "video game"ize things, your health is represented by ♥♥♥. The first heart is superficial damage. The second heart is "I need to go to a hospital" damage. And the third heart, well, it's fatal. So, try not to lose all three. Much like the Challenge tokens, it's a simple way to demonstrate how your character is injured. Now, how does your character get injured?
As I said above, with Challenge Tokens, you can also spend your health on overcoming a challenge. Say you're up against a challenge of 3, and you only have 2 tokens, and you're stranded. You can burn your health to beat the challenge. You can do this up to two times before it becomes fatal. You can only use this on challenges that would pose a threat to your health (i.e., someone shooting at you as opposed to moving a heavy object.)
How do you get your health back? From the Medtech, of course. He can use a Challenge Token to restore one Health Token of yours, or he can spend an Eddie Token to restore your health. We'll get to those in a moment. He can't do this to bring you back from the dead (unless he uses his special ability). You regain all your health after a gig. However, if you lose two heart tokens, you'll have to spend eddies to get it fixed or deal with an injury. Injuries are just a flavor for you to have fun with.eddies﹩Eddies are your last resources that you can use to spend during a gig. They represent the change in your pocket. Each level of payment adds an extra ﹩. A small payout would be: ﹩ While a mid payout would be: ﹩﹩. Simple! You can use eddies to buy things in between missions. There's less of a "store" for that, but more so you tell me what you want to do, and I tell you the cost. We aren't commidifying the RP that much.
Now what can you use eddies for in the gig? Much like health, it can be spent in lieu of challenge tokens. But only for things that cost money instead of things that would cost you your health (i.e., getting a Challenge 2 door open with a challenge token and an Eddie token to represent some explosives you brought.) It's to represent you having to put money in to make money.
Unlike health, if you use all of your eddies, you won't die. But you will lose your place to stay. You need to pay rent, you know? So, I would recommend keeping at least one eddie token pocketed. And also, unlike health, there's no 3 token max. There is no max. But there are always things to buy.humanity▮How many slots (▯ ▮) you have for cyberwear is equal to your Humanity number. Everyone has a base of 10 Humanity. This stat is strange as you are all human, but the more slots you have filled with cyberwar, the further you are away from your humanity. What philosophical quandary might that stir up?
▯ is an empty slot. ▮ is a filled slot. ▮ represents one piece of cyberware and one use of that cyberware per gig. You can have ▮▮ for one piece of cyberware you can use twice, you'll just have to note that on your CS. If you have any ▯, that's your actual humanity total at the end of the day. So, you can be decked out but have one use for everything. Or you can have a couple of slots filled and a couple of extra ▮ to reuse a cyberware power as you wish. Edit your sheet to reflect this. Please note you cannot have 0 Humanity. Even 1 Humanity is dicey. A safe range would be 3-5, with anything above 5 giving you an extra boost to your humanity. You do not have to have cyberware. This is just here if you want to have it.
Also, an "Interface Plug" doesn't count against your cyberware numbers, as almost everyone has one. And anything listed under "Vanity" also doesn't count against it. I didn't want you to explain every little Christmas light on your body. Sometimes, it is just to look cool. Let me know you've read all this by including your holo-call avatar on your sheet somewhere.
► BURN OUT If you don't have any free slots yet and wish to use your cyberware one more time (just one of them once per day), you will roll a d10 and add the number of ▯. You have to hit a threshold of 10 to perform this without any issues. 6-9 means it fritzes out, and you must pay to get it repaired (small to medium, depending on what it is) before you can use it again. 1-5 means that you begin to suffer from cyber psychosis. You've burnt through your humanity, and this is calling whatever reserves you have left. We will discuss this after the mission if you score a 1-5. If your luck manages to push it right above 5, you will earn a second chance. Other massive manufacturing companies that wished to replace Arasaka started to make quick and dirty alliances with other corps, all promising them a piece of the pie. The only one that didn't have to do that was Militech, as they already had rivaled Arasaka.
EBM, IEC, Kang-Tao, Mitsubishi-Sugo, Segotari, and TDS disseminated their interests out and partnered with tech corps like Zetatech, agri corps like Petrochem, bio corps like Biotechnica, and so on. The only corp that didn't throw their lot in with anyone and didn't seem interested in this little war was Lazarus—a massive private military that outdid both Militech and Arasaka's claim. Now if that sounded like a lot of corps bullshit, well, it is. What you need to know is that the manufacturing corps teamed up with all the other corps under the sun and have been loudly whispering across the streets of Night City for their piece of the pie.
You see, the president, Rosalind Meyers, and ex-CEO of Militech pretty much put her foot down on a fifth corpo war. While many think the government and corps walk in lock-step, they occasionally kick at each other's shins. Her harrowing experience in Night City a few years prior had made her realize that this booming metropolis needed to be reminded that while it existed outside the NUSA, the NUSA existed all around it. So this war was called the Corp Crown War, and it is as basic as it sounds: the corps wanted to wear the crown, and they were willing to do anything for it. It's basically the Fifth Corpo War, but you didn't hear that from me.
Of course, they couldn't use their outside voices to announce that to the world. Suddenly, gigs popped up left and right for mercs, fixers found their inboxes full, and gun stores were lining their pockets and then some. It was all strategic and made to look like the gangs had flared up in Night City. Now, President Meyers isn't an idiot, but she could hardly discipline an independent state for having gang wars. And more so, it was the first time since Regan that the trickle-down economics had worked. The little man was finally getting a nice payday. They were also dying horrible deaths.
