Curated RP Nominations

Hello, everyone.


I'd appreciate if you took the time to read this thread, as it is relevant to the future of RPN and our community here.


In order to ensure new members are welcomed by our very best, to get a nice cross-section of our community, and why it is so awesome to be a part of, I am spearheading the Curated RPs Thread.


This will be a thread in Introductions with links to RPs across the site of varying skill levels and genres, along with some commentary on why those RPs are exemplary of their bracket and genre.


You can PM me to nominate RPs for this section under the following rules, and the criteria listed below:


No nominating your own RP


No begging for nominations in the SB


Important Criteria


Has a clear, well-thought out premise. An RP with lore, maps, or other useful detail in their Overview especially.


Has at least a young adult literacy level.


Is at least ten pages long and lasted more than a month before it was closed, if closed.


Is a good example of a story with plot and character development.


Follows the rules set forth by RPN.


Has/had good interaction between the GM and players


For obvious reasons, my RPs are not valid nominations.

The entries will be evaluated by me, and an anonymous user. This was my idea, and I therefore will hear all complaints, and accept all angry messages about the selection. Note that you don't have to be playing in an RP to nominate it, if you're reading it and enjoying the ride from there.


I would like to have all nominations by January 10th.

I'm skeptical. Is this for example of good RPs? Or Examples of good RPs to join?


If it's the second, then that "at least 10 pages" rule won't quite work. If the role-plays chosen are being based off of high-quality, it leads to a problem. The posts and story in those high-quality Rps, are going to be long, winding, complex, and detailed. 10 pages in, shows the Role-play has been going on for a while, but at the same time, so has the story. <------ In a detailed RP, that means a lot of story has been missed, so people will hesitate to join, that's if they even consider trying to jump into something so deep.


If it's just as an example of good RPs, or for people to browse, then this would be good.

It's an example of good RPs, for purposes of education and entertainment, rather than showcasing RPs to join.

I'm bumping this, because if I don't get nominations I'm going to have to make all the selection myself, and then no one will be happy.

Quick question, do we have to fill in the whole form or just the ones we vote for?

Just the ones you vote for, but the more you fill in the easier it is for me.

Definitely sounds like a great idea for new players. I'll try to read over some and get in at least a few nominations before then. Either way I wish you luck with it.

Can't vote for myself, hun. c; perhaps you'd like to take the honors of doing that. I havent joined any RPs since the new "advanced-beginners" categories were implimented, so i dont know what to recommend besides my own
