A century ago, storms erupted all over the Earth. Hurricanes and tsunamis hurtled the coasts, meteors struck the plains, tornadoes swept people into power lines, and all was chaos. When the hour was over, many had lost their homes, their loved ones, and it was quiet. Then, people began to notice something strange. They were not the same. Some could change the world around them, pushing the ground up, or creating a flame in their palm. Some could change themselves, morphing into plants or a limb into a blade. Some could change others, shifting them into jello, or melting their bones. These people were named Aberrant.

Soon, the Aberrant started to fight one another, one believing their version of justice was right over the other. Cities crumbled under the endless battles, and there was no one to stop them. Then, after fifty years of havoc that seemed endless, a group of five banded together to start a convergence between the powered individuals and the plain.

Lira Goodspeed,

the light footed

, Hans Turksov,

the heavy handed

, Yans Kilzch,

the silver tongued

, Gwendolen Smith,

the golden fury

, and Kimi Kuromuri,

the self-proclaimed king

became the Founding Five. Together they created an order, a way to keep friend separated from foe. They opened up a college with the name University of the Deviant, where it was free to attend, and it would be used to hone the skills of the Aberrant while classifying them as hero or villain upon graduation. Any who did not attend were deemed Unclassified, and were considered dangerous by most of society.

At the time of the opening, anyone could attend no matter their age in order to receive their classification. Not many Aberrant agreed to the type of control that the college presented, fearing that they would become victims of a new government or put on a list that kept track of who had powers and who didn’t with the possibility that it may later be used against them. If you have read this far, and have looked at the rules, private message me a really bad joke, or a corgi. The result was a ten year war after the college opened its doors. The Founding Five destroyed any and all who challenged their order. Eventually, the turmoil stopped, and it seemed that they had destroyed the last of the rebels.

Twenty-five years after the college was established, the Founders disappeared. There were search parties called, but to no avail. They were not found and the order that they created was carried out by the school. The school has since acted as the headquarters for a police unit of Heroes that maintain the order the Founding Five strived so hard to create.

Following into the Now

The world has almost returned to what it was before with slightly decorated scars of the destruction from the war across their cities and towns. There was an order to things, just as the Founding Five have wished. After the storm, Aberrant were genetically changed in order for their bodies to sustain their abilities. This led towards a genetic change in the human race.

People who were not Aberrant were considered Innocents. Should one Innocent and one Aberrant become partnered, there was a 46 % chance that their child would be born with an ability somewhat resembling their parents. The children of one Innocent and one Aberrant had a 1 in 3 chance of displaying their powers at birth, while the rest displayed their powers between the ages of 11 and 18. While the children of the Aberrant and Innocent were powered, they still held human attributes, which led towards some difficulties with their powers. For example, a man who could change his limb into another organic limb, such as a lion’s, might possess difficulty keeping the new form. There might also be a drain on the man’s stamina or strength. The original Aberrant did not usually possess drawbacks like the children did. Research has shown that the change was due to one of the parents being completely Innocent.

A child born from two Aberrant parents had a 78% chance of being miscarried or a stillbirth. It is believed that this happens due to the powers of the parents being an incompatible match. Children that lived were always born with powers that came from both parents, and possessed little drawbacks or limits. If the child is found to have powers, the Leader of the Hero Alumni League must be immediately notified. The child would then be assigned a Hero mentor until they could enroll into the University of the Deviant. This was to ensure that the child kept its powers under control until they could be properly trained by the University.

The University of the Deviant changed their classes in order to suit the changes in Aberrant abilities and limits. They installed classes that would help focus the powers as well as using new technology developed by Yans Kilzch, the silver tongue, in order to create a system that will simulate combat. The self-proclaimed King established the Hero Alumni League, in which all Alumni of the college were enrolled into. He used the League as a way to keep peace across the nation. He also created the classification system which is used within the League in order to better distribute missions to those qualified.

When the Founding Five disappeared, Madam Grevil, the Right Hand of the King, took over as Head Mistress and Leader of the Hero Alumni League. She noticed many of the Hero League were deviating from their Directives, and soon almost half of the League was undergoing reclassification as Unclassifieds. That’s when her Right Hand gave her the idea to create a different League. She did so, and thus the Villain Alumni League was created. She gave the reigns of the League to a man who was once classified as a Champion, and let him create his order and directives with little influence from her besides how to set an order.

Only two years ago, the leader of the Villain Alumni League was destroyed. The Villains are now in a political battle to gain the Leader title, which will be handed to the successor by the Mistress herself. Until then, most of the Villain League is left to handle their own mess, with the Hero League to police the Villain directives. The Right Hand of the Villain League would have been placed in temporary control of the league, but unfortunately was also destroyed shortly after the Leader himself.

Almost everyone knows of the University and its strict decrees. There is no excuse for an Aberrant to avoid going to the college unless it’s by choice.

Usually, the Head Mistress will keep track of what’s going on in the world from her spies, who are implanted in all the major cities and towns. If anything strange happens in the world and she finds out, she will send a Hero out to investigate for Unclassified or young Aberrant activity.

If it’s an Unclassified, the deviant is terminated. If it’s a young Aberrant, the parents or guardians of the Aberrant are given a letter from the Head Mistress and must keep the Mistress undated on the child’s progress until the child is of age to choose to join the University. If said child does not join, then they will be Unclassified and must not use their abilities again.

If the young Aberrant is born of two Aberrant parents, then the Hero will stay and be placed as mentor until the child is of age to join the University. While this situation is not ideal, as the parents should have notified the Hero League immediately, it is understood that sometimes exceptions occur. The parents are usually given a punishment as deemed by the parent’s associated League Leader. If the child in question was an orphan, the Hero will be placed as the child’s guardian until the child is of age and sent to the University.

Decrees of Order

Upon the creation of the University, these were the decrees giving by founders to be upheld by the college. Any and all Addendums were added by the University’s Head Mistress.

A

ll Aberrant attending the University are considered good until classified by the system, even if they possess temporary villain status.

U

pon graduation, classifications will be given and are final. It will not be changed after graduation. This is to keep order and prevent the chaos our founders worked hard to control.

A

ll Unclassified are to remain dormant. They are not allowed to use their powers. If they do, they are deemed dangerous to society and must be eliminated.

(This rule is from the Founding in order to stop out of control deviants. It is still enforced, even though that time has passed, and order has been established.)

U

noffical classifications will be given in the student’s last two years at the University in order to allow the student the ability to change their classification as they attend. This is to allow satisfactory classification upon graduation.

B

eing classified does not require one to fulfill hero or villain status. But, upon graduation, all will be registered within the Villain or Hero Alumni league and will be eligible for Aberrant draft should a time come where they will be needed.

A

n official Hero or Villain title

(or nickname)

shall be chosen by the student upon graduation.

Addendum:

A

ll who wish to be classified by the school, must choose to attend by the ages of 18/19. If they pass these ages, or choose not to be classified, they will be deemed Unclassified and must live by the Unclassified decree as described above.

Addendum:

O

nce an Alumni is placed into their League with their associated classification, they will always be a part of the League and cannot leave their post within the League. Leaving post, or not responding to draft will result in reclassification. Hero/Villain will be known as Unclassified and will be treated as an Unclassified threat.

Heroes

  • Upholds righteousness, and is always after the greater good. They usually have a strict code of ethics and do everything in their power not to break that code.

Villains

  • The anti-villain plays a villain's game, but for what's at least in their eyes a noble cause. They may be personally more noble or heroic than an anti-hero but the means to achieve their ends are often considered immoral, unjust, and sometimes even evil.

xxx
Internal League Structure

Heirarchy

Leader -> Chosen Right Hand -> Champions/Tyrants -> Antihero/Trickster -> Sidekick/Antivillain -> Destroyer/Reluctant.

The higher up you are, the bigger the missions you get, but it's more likely there will be a team with a variety of each class. Usually, the Right Hand acts as Leader when the Leader is gone, and a picked Champion/Tyrant will act as Leader when the Right Hand and Leader are gone.

Below are the descriptions of the job of the classifications within their leagues, and what is expected of them.

    • In charge of the League
    • Coordinates missions
    • Handles disputes among members after Right Hand has already tried
    • Is the public face of the League

League Directives

These are followed by Alumni who have enrolled in the league of their Hero or Villain status. The directives must be followed by all in the leagues, and cannot be strayed from. If deviation occurs, said deviant shall be terminated by associated League.

    • Follow all orders given by Leader without question.
    • Defend all innocents to best of ability.
    • Only attack a villain when there is adequate time to clear an area of all innocents.
    • Work towards the greater good of the nation.
    • Destroy all Unclassified threats. They have broken the Decree and it is a hero’s duty to see that punishment is delivered.
    • Should a Hero converse with a perceived Unclassified threat, said Hero will be reclassified as Unclassified and will be treated the same as any Unclassified threats.

The City

Heroes are assigned to live in the larger part of the city. All the money has gone to making sure that all the ruins from the chaotic war from before have been repaired. All buildings are up to date with city codes for safety.

Villains are assigned to live in the smaller part of the city. The slums are also located in this part, as well as the ruins from the previous war. Little money has gone into this side of town.

Unclassifieds and Innocents live in either side of the city.

Rules

  1. Keep it PG-13.
  2. Be active, and by that I mean, I'd like you to post when you can. Real Life can get in the way, and I understand that.
  3. I will help you with your cs, but everything your charrie does need a reason. I like character development.
  4. I will classify you into your hero/villain alumni status based on the cs quiz. I will fit you as best as I can to what your character will best fit.
  5. I don't require long posts, but if you find that you are doing one-liners or you have an action sequence with a lot of quick back-and-forth posts, do it in PM. Then copy-paste into one nice post. If you aren't sure how to do this, just send me a PM and I'll help.
  6. There will be a lot of twists and turns throughout the roleplay, and no character is safe from death.
  7. Ask questions if you have doubts or worries or such.
  8. If you send me a corgi, I'd like it to be a puppy.

Orientation

Bright Sunny Day / 2:00 PM / Tuesday

It was the first day of the classmen's arrival and as the students gathered, the Madam sat at her desk in her office. She slammed down some papers in front of her, and her Right Hand, Lark Pensley, jumped at the sudden noise. She peered up at him with a slight sneer.

“It’s the first day of classes and already we have problems,” she slid a file with the names Katriane and Katherine Alexandrie scribbled over to the man. “Be a dear, Mr. Pensley, and summon these lovely ladies to me, would you?”

Lark nodded before picking up the file and disappearing out her door. She placed a hand over the bridge of her nose before moving flexing her other hand. It began to glow a soft green, and the aura slid over the objects in the room. Slolwly, they all moved into some sort of order, creating piles of the names of the new students of the University, as well as Unclassified threats that needed to be taken care of.

Clearing her throat, she removed the hand from her forehead before standing. “It’s time I suppose,” she mumbled before grimacing. With that she walked out of her room and toward the balcony over the doors. Students were gathered outside for their orientation, awaiting her announcement before the dorms opened.

When she stepped out onto the balcony, her back was straight, and her face held the look of no nonsense. She held her arms wide and boomed out to the crowd of students.

“Welcome classmen of new and old! I am Madam Grivel, the Headmistress and the Leader of the Hero Alumni League. Please, make yourselves at home. Women will be in the left dorm,” she motioned to her left, “And Men will have the right.” She paused.

“This year will hold challenges to better improve your powers so that you can become a wonderful part of society, whether you become a part of the Hero or Villain Alumni League,” she smiled. “Now, make your way to your dorms to unpack.” Madam started to head back inside before another thought struck her.

“Oh and one last thing,” she turned back to the students,” There will be simulation challenges waiting for you tonight after dinner. Be prepared!”

With that, she disappeared behind the doors again and was met with Lark staring at her solemnly.

The below spoiler has your class schedules. I'll make sure ya'll know when the "hour" changes when real classes start. Until then, keep watch for a PM detailing what your simulations missions will be.

Senna Davi

Orientation

Senna stood a long along the edge of the courtyard leaned against one of the columns with her hands behind her back and her suitcase at her feet just observing the crowd of students. She had tried reading a book but with so many students screeching in reunion and calling out to find each other it proved to be more frustrating than relaxing. Having to wait in a crowd of restless students concentrated in one location wasn’t exactly an easy thing for someone with social anxiety. Senna had managed to cope and adjust so she didn’t have a panic attack any time she left the house but she was still uncomfortable around large crowds.

She took notice how many other students who had over packed with boxes and bags of belonging, stuff that probably wouldn’t have time for if it didn’t assist in training. Freshmen most likely. She remembered being a nervous wreck her first year. It didn’t take very long for everyone to figure out what her ability was, to say the least. This year however Senna was only slightly nervous but that feeling was over shadowed by excitement for what the year would bring. She was finally and Upperclassmen, which meant less time studying math and English and more time training her abilities.

Two years in the school and she was a much different person, at least physically. She didn’t tire as easily or trip over her self. She was by no means as fast or strong as some of the other students in the school, especially those with enhanced abilities in those areas, but she wasn’t lagging be hind at the back of the pack anymore either. More importantly she had improved vastly in controlling her powers. She could tell what and object was made of or how far someone was just with a touch. She nearly mastered channeling her abilities through solid matter and some what understood liquids. Her biggest challenge was trying to channel the air but hopefully she would make progress on that front. She had practiced and trained over the break making some progress but giving her self a lot more headaches.

Senna looked up as the doors to the balcony opened Headmistress appeared from the inside the school. The volume dulled at her appearance and silenced completely as she welcomed students. Senna both admired and was extremity intimidated by the woman, she projected an aura of authority and power that she had yet seen to be matched by anyone else. The crowd hesitated before starting to split off towards the dorms, Senna held off waiting for the mad rush pass before even attempting to get to her dorm.

“Simulation challenges?” She muttered to her self curious about the ominous warning. First day usually set the tone for the rest of the year she just hoped the infirmary wouldn’t be too busy by the end of the night.

Joseph Judd (Jojo) - Dorm 221

1 min dilation time

Joseph calmly walked to the front of the form which the letter said he would inhabit.

"This is the one."

It was a simple room with white walls, presumably allowing for decoration. There was a wardrobe to use for personal use and a desk for work on both sides. There were two single beds with sheets laid on either side of the room.

He walked into the dorm and unpacked his belongings. They weren't much, it was mostly just clothing and his book. Most of his spare time was spent meditating for extra time, studying his book The Path ((I'll shorten it to that for practicality)) or training, so he had little need for objects that consumed his time needlessly.

His dorm mate was a stereotypical nerd who had a high affinity in puzzle solving called Steven Watson. He was doing a large sudoku while sitting on his bag still unpacked, so Jojo just left him to it.

When Jojo finished unpacking, he decided to meditate for some time. He already did so this morning, but as they were fighting later, it seemed to be a good choice.

Jojo crossed his legs and let himself detach himself from sentimental thought. He felt the earth he sat on, the texture it had. He sensed the temperature of the atmosphere, the stillness of the air with its slight humidity. His breath was slow and controlled. He let the time of the world seep into him as he meditated.

-Alexia Tabor, Courtyard & Dorm room 118-

Alexia bounced excitedly on her feet with her bags on her back packed to the brim with her belongings, she watched as the other students weaved through the crowd to greet their friends, though she had nobody to talk to, she still revelled in the atmosphere of being out of the house she called home. Her mind raced with the ideas of what her life would be like now she was at the university, though her mind was quickly put at ease when the commanding presence of Madam Grivel introduced herself.

She had the face and posture of a dominant leader, and so Alexia swiftly decided that she would be someone not to mess around with, not that she could foresee herself doing so. After her introduction, Alexia and most of the other students began moving to their respective dorms. Alexia had her face buried in the letter that detailed where her dorm was located, though after a short period of searching she eventually came across it, giving it a tender knock before shyly twisting the doorknob and entering.

She instinctively flicks on the lights despite the fact that the windows in the room allowed more than enough light to see the furnishings and white walls of the room. Seeing two beds neatly made caused her to wonder who her roommate might be, silently hoping that they would get along well as she quietly unloads her bags and gently places them near one of the beds. Clothing was the first to come out of the bag, followed by a few books and a small locked box, she hums quietly as she organised the items on the bed.

Natalin was anxious. She was surrounded by people, aberrant people. This was a new setting for her. She wore a loose tank top with a denim jacket and khaki pants. The weather was nice and sunny outside. With all her excitement, she had a hard time hearing Madam Grivel. All she saw was her mouth moving. Natalin's thought was louder than anything else, Wow... A lot of these people look normal. She was looking around the crowd. Only a rare few stuck out like out like Natalin. I look so different... Will anyone like me? I hope I can fit in... She hugged herself self-consciously.

image_preview
Suddenly, all the students dispersed. Huh? Where's everybody going? Natalin looked left then right, and she noticed males were heading one direction while the females went an other. She followed the females. Oh! We're heading to our dorms... Natalin thought excitedly. She scrambled through her purse looking for the letter that had her room number within the dorm. Natalin had a real hard time finding her dorm room. "Uh-umm.. Do you know where this is?" she would ask pointing at the letter where her dorm number was written on. Eventually, she was escorted by a random, yet helpful, female to her room. "Thank you!" She called out to the stranger as they departed.

zflowericon.gif
Natalin peeked her head in through the door and saw a blonde girl unpacking her things. She knocked before stepping in, "H-hi.. I-I guess we're room-buddies.." She closed the door behind her and rubbed her arm shyly. "I guess I'll start unpacking too." She chose the bed that was unoccupied, and began unpacking as well. "Nice place," she said to herself.

Alexia jumped up in surprise, she had been rather focused on sorting through her things that she didn't even realise that someone had entered into the room until she spoke. "Oh, Hi!" She yelps excitedly, though she quickly clears her throat to try and suppress her alarm. The first thing she noticed about her room-mate was her scaly green skin and amber red hair. Though it was exceedingly obvious she wasn't entirely human, Alexia tried to seem indifferent about it, since she didn't want to offend her room-mate in the first few moments they met, though secretly she was simply happy that she had someone else like her to talk to. "Yea, I guess we are room-buddies." Alexia says with a smile as she extends her hand, looking at her room-mate with piercing pale-white eyes. "I'm Alexia. Nice to meet you."

zflowericon.gif
Natalin looked over to her new roommate worriedly, "Sorry! I didn't mean to startle you." She was happy to be greeted warmly by Alexia. Natalin giggled bashfully when Alexia stated, 'Yea, I guess we are room-buddies.' Now hearing Alexia say room-buddies, made her think how childish the phrasing sounded. Natalin's eyes widened when Alexia stuck her hand out for a shake; she has never touched anyone (other than her lizard-like father) after she discovered her powers. Natalin awkwardly used her index finger and thumb to shake Alexia's hand, "Nice to meet you too. I'm Natalin.." She laughed at herself softly. Goodness... I'm being awkward.. she thought to herself.

image_preview
She continued unpacking her things; her bag consisted of binoculars, miniature telescope, and tons of clothes. Natalin looked at the things Alexia was unpacking, "You like reading, huh?" She said as she noticed a book on her bed. "I was so excited to come, I forgot to bring my Nintendo 3DS!" Natalin laughed out loud, then covered her mouth. "Sorry, was I being too loud?" She rubbed her arm and gave Alexia a twisted smile.

-Alexia Tabor, Dorm room 118-

Alexia tentatively looks at her hand after Natalin shakes it, though after a quick inspection she was rather curious why she had shook her hand using only her thumb and finger. Regardless, she wanders back over to continue unpacking things from her bag, next out was a silvery chrome laptop and a phone, which she laid gently on the bedside table. She lifts up the book to show Natalin the cover, though it didn't seem to have any discernible title, just a picture of a futuristic warrior resting on a group of enemies riddled with bullet wounds. "You could say that, though this is my favorite, read it so many times I swear I know every word." She says with a giggle, though she looks a little saddened when Natalin says she forgot her 3DS, but quickly returns to laughing again. "Oh, no, you aren't being to loud. In fact, the louder the better, otherwise you can sneak up on me again and give me a fright."

~Katherinna Elisse von Adler~

Standing from afar, her back rested against one of the many beautiful pillars supporting the structure, she glanced upon the rather large crowd of newly arrived students. Some new, some old, it made no difference to her. Most of them wouldn't make it anyhow. Soon, the balcony of the Headmistress opened and the stiff hag had made her appearance and started holding her most unoriginal speech in which she detailed what was what. Kat was bored of the same speech every year, but what annoyed her the most, was the excitement of the lower classmen that had just arrived. They all thought it was fun and games and that they would be the greatest of them all. After the Mistress was done with her speech, the crowd started sorting itself into two group, males and females, that started heading each to their own dorm. Katherinna remembered the first time she came to the College. She did not care much for the aspect or the rest of the students. They mostly annoyed her with their persistent attempts to befriend her. However, they were all shut down on the spot by her malicious tongue, which burnt harder than her flames when she was outright mad. Finally, the courtyard was empty again, as the fiery woman started departing herself. Her first duty as an Alumni was to make sure everything was right and proper and keep a close eye on the students. She detested being a babysitter, but thus was the situation. Dressed in her long crimson robe that reached to her ankles, she walked through the hallway, her heels clicking on the marble tiles of the building. "Really, how stupid can some of them be to not get their dorms right!" she inquired for herself. "As if I don't have better things to do." . She thought that the first dorm she should check would be the girl's one. Afterall, the other Alumni, that Caine person if she recalled correctly, could handle the boy's one meanwhile.

~Dorm room 118~

zflowericon.gif
Natalin looked at Alexia's book and analyzed it curiously, "Is it about super powers?" She said 'super powers' in a hushed tone, as if it was a curse word of some sort. Natalin saw Alexia bring out her 'toys.' She gave in to an other loud laugh, "You certainly didn't forget your goodies." She twisted her lips when she saw Alexia's phone, "It wasn't until today that my parents gave me a phone." She scoffed. Then began to look for her phone; it was supposed to be in her luggage. "Ugh!" Natalin moaned frustratingly. "First I forgot my 3DS, now my new spanking phone!" She sat on her bed, on top of her clothes, and slapped her head in disbelief. "I cannot believe this. They must be unhappy to find out they can't communicate with me..." She shrugged, Oh well! She grinned.

image_preview
She walked towards her dorm room's entrance door then slowly opened it. She peeked her head outside to see if anything was going on in the hallways. She saw a woman wearing a long crimson robe and very loud heels (that's what got Natalin's attention). While Natalin's head peeked out of the door, she waved behind her for Alexia's attention. "Pssssttt... Hey, Alex.." Natalin started pointing (from behind the door), so that Alexia could see the strange woman in heels. "I never understood why my mother walked in those," she said under her breathe, "But, she suuure does look pretty."

"Not really, its about a space commander and his troops who go to battle against these evil robot alien things, to put it simply, anyway." Alexia says as she nonchalantly flicks through a few pages, most of the pages seemed well worn, some with little drawn pictures in the corners. She lets off another little laugh as Natalin realises she forgot her phone as well as her 3DS. "Ah well... You can always borrow mine, at least." She says with a friendly smile.

Inquisitively, she sets the book down and tip-toes over to the door to see what Natalin was looking at, peering out the door to see a woman clicking down the hall in heels and a long crimson robe. Alexia nodded in agreement.
"Yea, she does look pretty, though I don't think I'd ever be bothered to wear heels like that, way to uncomfortable. I'll just stick to sneakers, or barefoot." She says as she walks back to her bed to finish unpacking. The last thing to come out was what looked like a bouncy ball, which she tosses around in her hand for a moment before throwing it in Natalin's direction. "Hey! Think fast!"

~Girl Dorm Hallway~

Walking down the corridor with one hand on her hip, the other waving gently by her body, she caught the image of two girls studying her from the corner of her eye. Obviously, the sound of her high heels continuosly clicking on the floor drew them out of hiding. One of them looked normal, the other had...green skin? "Oh well, I've been here for years and that's not even close to the some of the weirdest things I've seen around this school. It's like a magnet for freaks." she thought for herself. Looks like she found the first rookies who would have the honor of being inspected by her. After all, she could use some cheering up, and freshmen were the easiest of all students to scare. The Mistress has told her repeatedly to stop harassing the new bloods, but she just couldn't control herself. It was like a drug for her. Hastening the pace, she quickly got to the door, just in time to see a ball of sorts headed straight at her.

Reacting quickly, she conjured a small fire ball in her hand, throwing it at the incoming object, incinerating it. "Well, well, I see you've gotten quite comfortable," she spoke in a ironic tone. "Don't get too familiar with the place. We have a habbit of losing some students in their first year!". A grin flourished on her face as she said the words. "This college does not tolerate no town foolery and you'd do best to remember, have I made myself understood?" she spoke again with a serious tone, staring them down in the meanwhile.

Alexia stares wide-eyed as her ball got incinerated as it flew through the air. Her pale-white eyes showing a look of surprise before her lips spread into a wide grin. "That was so AWESOME!" She yelps before clapping rapidly in excitement for a moment. The new woman's threats were completely ineffective on her, the display of fireworks were much too intriguing for her to pay attention to what she was saying. As what was left of the smoldering ball hit the ground, her wide grin turned into a malicious smirk as she looks to the flame-slinger. Alexia's eyes shadow over slightly as she tries to focus her power to disrupt the flames, though she was fully aware she might have little to no affect on the Alumni, she figured she might as well try to use her own power if she was going to throw fire everywhere. "Try it again."

Senna Davi

Dorm 220

Senna has waited in the court yard for everyone to go into the dorm. She scanned the rest of the open area before spotting a woman standing on the other side of the yard and shivered. Wild Fire. One of the less than friendly Alumni who "helped" out at the school Senna shrank back trying to make herself seem as invisible as possible as the woman started in side. Senna had learned early on the was not one to even try to talk to, not that she would even dream of trying the villain oozed intimidation and confidence in a much different way the Headmistress did. Senna felt tingling in her hands as she leaned up against the column and clenched her hands tightly taking a few deep breaths to calm her nerves.

Thankfully the woman walked by with out incident, Senna let out a heavy sigh in relief. She waited another few minutes before grabbing her lone suitcase and making her way into the girls dormitory. She'd managed to avoid most of the rush up only having a mild squeeze into the elevator as she went up to the second floor She pulled a letter out of her jacket pocket making sure she had the right number in mind. 220, she repeated in her head as the doors opened and the other girls spilled out into the halls. Senna picked up her suitcase not wanting to trip anyone with it and weaved her way through the crowded halls dodging over excited students as they raced around the halls with their bonging. She nearly tripped over a small canine of some sort who went racing by, no doubt a shapeshifter of some sort. Senna smiled lightly as she reached her room and quickly opened the door.

The dorm was empty and plain, the basic two student dorm. She noted her Room mate had not yet arrived and found it slightly odd since sh was one of the last to enter from the crowd. "Oh well, I guess I'll meet her soon enough." She muttered shutting the door and took the liberty of claiming the bed furthest from the door. She put her bag down on the bed and fished her phone from her pocket to play some music while she unpacked.

Katherinna stood there and watched the blonde girl with with a strange eye color as she was so joyfully enjoying her display of power. The act itself annoyed her a lot. To have someone so easily dismiss her powers as a mere child's game was outright insulting. And worse, she demanded she "do it again" as if it was some circus trick. With a very venomous face she adressed the student "Are you mocking me? Because I don't respond well to such treatment. I've killed people for less than that. So I suggest you choose your next words carefully when adressing me, new blood, least you want to become a pile of ashes!". Kat never threatened someone idly. She was a woman of her word and has never backed down on her promises or threats. Doing that would mean to compromise her new identity, the one she adopted so many years ago.

"Enjoy your stay, I trust it shall be a short one, provided you keep the same attitude and don't start treating this college with the amount of seriousness that it demands." were her last words as she gently departed. She still had other dorms to check before reporting in at the Mistress. It annoyed her how much she was dependent of that woman, but still, she respected her bluntness. She could go right ahead and tell you your whole family died without a wince, while others would waste your time trying to "prepare you for the blow". "What a stupid notion, like anything is gonna prepare you for a fireball to the face!".

"Oh," Natalin said in response to Alexia's description of her book. She sounded a bit disappointed. She gave a sly smile when Alex offered her phone if she ever needed it, "Gee.. thanks." When Alexia joined her by the door, she looked at her intently. "Yeah," she said in a hush manner; she was glad she was partnered with someone who was like-minded.

"Woah!!" she exclaimed as Katherinna destroyed the ball Alexia threw at her playfully. Its a shame she couldn't catch the ball before it got destroyed. She must have slow reflexes. Natalin found herself in a corner and stared at Katherinna throughout her stay. The lady was not very pleasant. She said things that seemed very scary; that made her uncomfortable. " 'scuse me..." She excused herself to the bathroom. She didn't like how the conversation between Alexia and Katherinna was playing out.

Hajar Alfarsi

Orientation ➡ Dorm 220

Two thumbs anxiously moved and rubbed against eachother. Hands lay intertwined at the front of a puffy oriental dress, leaving the hands to hit around the bare skin that lay on a girl's skinny legs. Red eyes darted left and right among people like herself. It wasn't in the girl to seem so nervous, but today it just felt that way. Her skin was on a high rise and alert, her hairs on ends.

Hajar was overshadowed by the overwhelming amount of students like her that were gathered at the front of the office. They all waited and chatted nearly absentmindedly, the majority of them, for the sake of themselves and the orientation. Their waiting would be stopped soon. Hajar glanced up, seeing a familiar face stand atop the balcony outside of their office. The no-nonsense expression, the straight and managed posture. The confidence that backed up her words. Hajar remembered this the first year she were to attend the university. One of the heads, the other not appointed yet. She'd remember her face and name this time, hopefully.

Hajar was enveloped in her tendency to think deeply. She didn't catch all of what she had said. Hajar frowned in displeasure with herself as students began to move out of place and out to wherever they were appointed to. Dorms, Hajar would guess, from the way the crowd split from right to left; Men to the right and women the left.

If she missed any important information, it would be troubling... Having a hard time from the start would set her back.

She'd suppose whoever she'd have to stay with would inform her in future conversations.

Hajar stood there for a good twenty seconds to think it over, then proceeded to grab at the suitcase that stood next to her. Hand grasped at the handle, Hajar begun to walk at a [personally] moderated pace, to which she walked at about half of the speed of everyone else. It would take a while, but she would manage to reach the dorms in good time. She wouldn't be late, she wouldn't be prompt.

As expected, through a few minutes of walking, Hajar met with the doorway to the dorm she and another female would be bound to stay in for the duration of their schooltime. Dorm 220, Hajar remembered the number written on the detailed letter she had received previous. A hand approached the door, knocked on it, then pushed it open. She was not surprised to see a person inside already.

"Greetings." She said dully. In her mind she wanted to smile, though it was awfully difficult for a person like her to do. She hoped this didn't set her off as rude. Hajar strolled inside with her suitcase, pulling it through the door and shutting the door behind her once it was all inside.

By the looks of it, the bed she would have to take was already decided for her. Hajar rolled her suitcase towards the side of the bed closest to the door, set it there, and then scavenged inside for a particular object. Just a simple family photo, and she took it out to look at it once. She set it down on the top of the bed to hang up later, to make the room seem more traditional. That's what people did, right?

-Alexia Tabor, Dorm Room 118-

Alexia still wasn't particularly threatened or scared by Katherinna's words, she was much too naive to heed her warnings, she figured that she wouldn't be burnt to ashes by Katherinna as she imagined there would be a whole bunch of rules and regulations that would be broken if she did. Regardless, she sits idly while Katherinna unleashes her tirade, nodding gently in a false understanding until she left the room, where Alexia promptly sticks out her tongue at her when she turns her back. She was a little disappointed that she didn't have the chance to see if her power affected her at all, though she hoped she would have an opportunity to try it out later. Once she was out of earshot, Alexia lets out a little sigh. "Gee, what a meanie-poo. I hate those serious types of people that think they're better than everyone else." She says a little exhausted, though she realizes that Natalin wasn't in the room anymore, not hearing her excuse herself. Alexia figures that perhaps her room-mate wasn't privy to heated conversations, and gets up slowly to tenderly knock on the nearby bathroom door. "Hey Nat... shes gone now... are you alright?"

Senna Davi

Room 220

Senna had put her last book into the shelf by the small desk when she heard the door open and jumped slightly. She looked over to see a pink haired girl with red eyes enter the room with a suit case. "Oh... Um... Hello." She greeted softly figuring the girl would be her room mate for the year to come. "I hope you don't mind I took this bed.. if you want to switch I don't mind." She offered realizing she had taken the bed absentmindedly with out considering what her room mate might have wanted. She didn't venture close to the other girl it was always so odd meeting a new room mate you knew nothing about. Especially in a school full of super powered students. Senna chewed on her bottom lip lightly noting how quiet the other girl seemed and was a bit relived she didn't have an over excited and hyper room mate as last year. "I-I'm Senna..."

A Bell tolls the hour for dinner.

~WAS in Dorm room 118/Now is on her way to the cafeteria~

zflowericon.gif
As the heated discussion between Alexia and Katherinna continued, Natalin sat on the toilet, staring at the ceiling. She never understood the purpose of having a popcorn ceiling design in any room. It looks dangerous. Finally, it sounded like the conversations outside has faded. She heard Alexia outside the door, 'Hey Nat... shes gone now... are you alright?' Natalin opened the bathroom door, "Yeah, I'm fine..." She looked at the floor, avoiding eye contact.

A bell sounded off, "What was that?" Natalin's stomach began to grumble. She glanced at her roommate, "Was that a dinner bell?" It was approximately the time she would normally eat dinner. Natalin began to panic. Do I have to eat in front of other people? she decided to head off by herself to the cafeteria, "I-I meet you at the cafeteria..." She pretended to look around for something, "I th-think I dropped something were we stood at orientation.." she lied. She quickly went out the door. Several students seemed to be on their way to the cafeteria as well.

Zak Muir

Construction site / Nietzsche's Pub & Grill, both on the east side of the river

“You leavin’ early?” grumbled Bill Judkins. Everything the construction site foreman said sounded like an accusation or an insult; this was no exception.

Zak Muir hung his hard hat on a nail in the wall and smirked at his boss. “I came in early, so ... yeah. Unless you want to pay me overtime?” Lifting a gloved hand to his chin, he turned his head in both directions to crack his neck. He shrugged. “Then I’ll be happy to stay as long as you like.”

Even Judkins’ laugh resembled a grumbling cough. The foreman waved a callused hand. “Get the #^&! out of here, Muir. See you tomorrow.”

Zak suspected that Judkins was Aberrant. Not for any particular reason, but Bill was one of the only people on site who never questioned Zak’s preference for welding and other jobs that required gloves - jobs other guys often avoided. Plus, he seemed too ready to understand the few times Zak called in last minute due to League business. Still, he’d never worked with the guy or had to fight him, so he minded his business and silently thanked Judkins for doing the same.

Zak stripped off his work gloves, slipped them in his bag, and headed out the door. The sun had been bright all day, making the afternoon warm despite a light breeze off the river. Some hotshot was taking a risk on building a high-rise apartment building on the east side of the river. The number of corners they were cutting underlined the fact that a private investor had funded the job instead of the government; it was all about the profit, and overtime was a big no-no. Zak thought whoever the rich guy was, he was a fool. As if anyone was going to pay much for this real estate, even with a waterfront view. Maybe a villain Aberrant or two, but the East Side was largely slums. That wouldn’t change with one new fancy building. Still, it was work, and the pub down the street had a good selection of brews on tap.

Donning his leather jacket and gloves for protection, Zak made the short trek to the Nietzsche's Pub & Grill. Some smartass had opened the place shortly after the wars died down. It was probably meant to be a joke about the Ubermensch, or "Superman", but clearly whoever had named the place hadn’t actually studied philosophy.

Or maybe they had. Who knew? All that mattered today is that they served beer and that their food wasn't completely wretched, so long as you avoided the fish and chips.

As an added benefit, Nietzche's was located on the East Side by the river, which meant that it was a good place to meet prospective clients. He hadn't heard from the League in months, but he had taken a few requests for help. This one was supposedly about a missing girl. Since the request came to him through a referral from a former client, he didn't know the guy personally. This afternoon they were meeting for a drink and a discussion: he would check out the guy's story later.

After parking on the street, he stepped inside and headed for the bar. The dismal lighting made the grimy walls and booths seem quaint, reminiscent of the days before the wars. Zak wasn't fooled. A few patrons looked up at his entrance. The dim lighting didn't help them: most looked like they'd had better days. He kept his coat and gloves on and hunched his shoulders slightly as he took a seat at the bar and attempted to flag down the bartender.

Connor Jones

Grocery store located in the south-eastern outskirts of the city

Connor Jones looked up at the clock again. 4:00pm, and he was still here, working the register. Which meant he was doing absolutely nothing, as the grocery store had few people walking it's isles, and three different check-outs were open.

He then noticed how silent it was. He couldn't help checking over his shoulder every now and again, eyes inspecting the mouths of the isles. It was far too quiet for his liking. He could just imagine a Hero breaking down the wall that stood to the left before killing Connor for his crimes.

And the worst part was that Connor felt the Hero would be completely in the right. Connor lived in the outskirts of the city, where one would find Villain Aberrants. While he wasn't officially classified as a Villain, he was where he belonged.

A hand landed on Connor's shoulder, accompanied by a voice saying "Jones!" loudly, shattering the unnerving silence.

Of course, Connor jumped, feeling as though he was having a heart attack. He wheeled around in time to see the pot bellied man who had said his name jump too, startled by Connor's over-the-top reaction.

"Jesus, kid!" he said with his gruff voice. "You're way too goddamned jumpy all the time."

Connor began to calm down, relieved that he wasn't about to have his head blown off by a Hero. "Sorry," he said quietly to his boss.

"It's all good, Jones, but why the hell are you still here? You're shift ended an hour ago."

"Daryl hasn't shown up yet," Connor said.

The man groaned. "F**kin' kid. I'm gonna have to fire him, aren't I?"

Connor shrugged.

"Whatever," the boss said. "Go home Jones, we don't need three cashes open anyways. Thanks for sticking around, though."

With a nod, Connor gathered his things and hurried out.

Stepping outside, the somewhat repulsive smell of this dirty part of the city hit him again. The smell of his new home. He had been living here for a few months now, but he still hated the smell just as much as the first day he arrived. He probably wouldn't ever get used to it.

No. Allen Shaw the murderer would've never gotten used to it. But he was Connor Jones now. This smell was the only one Connor had ever known. This smell was home to Connor. The only real problem that Connor had was that he happened to look just like Allen, which meant that he had to live in fear that he'd pay for Allen's crimes.

He was Connor Jones, and tonight he'd get the papers, courtesy of an old friend, that would prove it and make it official.

To make the deal sweeter, Connor had been promised that any trace of Allen Shaw's existence would be erased.

Today would be the best day of Connor's life.

Joseph Judd - Dorm 221 -> Cafeteria

Dilation time 105 seconds
(accounting for time setting up in the dorm so only 1:30 min spent meditating)

Joseph opened his eyes and gracefully stood up. He looked around him, his dorm mate had already gone it seemed. Joseph was not so concerned with being in a rush and checked his uniform was up to standard before leaving for the dining chamber.

He got up slowly and stretched himself, having been sat in one position for a while. He felt his fighter build creak at the joints. After feeling suitably stretched, he left the room and closed the door. He proceeded to the cafeteria, where he walked with a grace of someone who had practised martial arts, with a very low centre of gravity. It was also typical for dancers when they walked.

As he approached it, Joseph saw the crowd that gathered. He could see some impatient for food. He was however, then again most didn't realise the true value time had. When you work with time, you realise the benefit and costs of even a mere second of time. In that second you could do so much at a high risk, or allow that second to pass by fleetingly in caution.
