    Kita had been nothing more than a dirty street rat when a young Jade dragon's lieutenant had found her. After her mother had immigrated to Japan to escape an abusive husband, the Jeong family struggled, her mother working two jobs to support both of her daughters. Hating to see her mother struggle, fifteen year old Kita got herself a job as a hostess at a seedy karaoke bar run by the jade dragon yakuza. It wasn’t the type of work her mother wanted her doing, but the customers tipped well and the jade dragon's were usually good about keeping unruly men in line.
    
    two years after starting there, her younger sister followed in her footsteps and began working at the bar too. It made her uneasy, watching strange men touch her sister, but there was nothing a little girl with only a few dollars to her name could do about it.
    
    Kita had been entertaining in the backroom when bullets flew through the front of the bar, the screams and smell of gunpowder ingrained into her mind, the first true violence she’d experienced while working for the Yakuza. The minute the chaos calmed, Kita flew through the bar, looking for Iseul frantically in the frey of blood and broken glass. Sometimes she still dreamt of the pool of blood under her sister’s body, the way her haunted eyes had stared back at her from that sinister red pond.
    
    It had taken two men to pull her off of the body, her elbow connecting with one’s nose while her foot collide into the other’s gut. When the lieutenant had shown up to asses the damage done to his turf, something about the girl who looked more like a feral dog than a young woman intrigued him. The lieutenant had taken Kita to get cleaned up, despite her aggressive opposition to being taken away from her sister’s corpse.
    
    Every time she drank tea, she remembered the steaming cup of oolong that the older man had placed in front of her crumpled figure at the kitchen table. he had sat silent and unmoving, as if he were afraid to startle Kita, until she had finally broken down into wails and sobs, too exhausted to flinch as the man placed a hand on her shoulder.
    
    “I don’t want anything to do with you disgusting Yakuza anymore.” She had spat at her elder, something that likely would’ve earned her a bullet from any other member. Instead, the lieutenant had hummed in understanding, hand still moving in circles across her shuddering back.
    
    “How will you get your revenge without us?” The question made her pause, bloodshot eyes looking up through tear-stained lashes to assess the lieutenant. It could have been a trap, but something soft and steely glinted in his gaze, mercury that spoke of the kind of understanding that required bloodshed. It was an offering and a burden all at once.
    
    Crimson turned to salmon as it washed down the drain, though no amount of scrubbing could rid the awful feeling of blood caked to her skin. An invisible tattoo that would paint her skin for the rest of her life. The feeling of already being cursed made it easier for Kita to accept the yakuza’s offer, made the weight of her options a little less heavy on her frail shoulders. Or at least that’s what she told herself.
    
    With the promise of her sister’s killers’ head on a pike, Kita returned to work at the karaoke club, this time as a more direct employee of the yakuza. She only entertained certain clients now, loosening their lips with alcohol and reporting back to the lieutenant on conversations of interest to their business, running little errands every now and again when she was called for. Her mother hated it, forbade her daughter from returning to that lawless place, and so seventeen year old Kita moved out into an apartment that the lieutenant rented for her.
    
    Running errands turned into day long training lessons and weekend long intel gathering. The missions became increasingly dangerous, and so did Kita. Lithe muscles replaced once malnourished bones, wits replacing rash preservation instincts. The nature of their relationship changed, the lieutenant was hard on her, not quite as generous as he had been in his kitchen that first night.
    
    Sometimes Kita wondered why he had bothered plucking her off the streets in the first place, tears streaming down her face after a particularly harsh verbal beating from her superior. But that gleam in his eyes when Kita crawled into his office bruised and battered, half dead but victorious, praise dripping from his lips like honey for his star pupil’s job well done, a stark reminder that all the hell the lieutenant put her through was to make her stronger. To help her survive.
    
    Those years of preparation were to help her once the lieutenant became kumicho, promoting Kita to the lieutenant position he once held. Claws sharpened and teeth bared, the once defenseless girl was a wolf too, defending the high ranking position he had left her in with the savagery of a wild beast. There would always be opposition against her, but Kita had earned her spot, had curried favor with business men and politicians alike, and even beaten her own men into submission when necessary. She was not push over, and for the most part that earned her respect in the jade dragons.
    
    Death was a familiar friend by now, yet it still shook her to her core when it took her mother, the last of her remaining family. Maybe her heart had always been bad, or maybe her daughter’s godless lifestyle had broken her heart past repair. She had never understood the beast that lurked under her daughter’s skin, that dark part of her soul that asked for blood as repentance for all the ways the world had wronged her.
    
    it was a reminder that her sister's killers, the brass tigers, still lived while iseul laid six feet under the ground. with her newly appointed position as lieutenant, kita vowed to fulfil her promise to avenge her sister's death with the blood of the brass tigers.

    Who is Kita Jeong? The answer depends on who you are and what she needs from you. You will never truly know her. Like a chameleon, she shifts her entire self to fit the situation best. In fact, Kita is so good at this ever changing charade that even she has forgotten who she really is behind the facade. Ziva is a mystery to everyone, including herself. Everyone is always an arms length away, she will never earn their trust and they will never gain hers.
    
    for the most part, kita is confident and assured in her every move. charismatic, flirtatious, and charming enough to get her way. stubborn, cocky, and venomous enough to never back down. she believes that all of her actions are justified because she owes the yakuza her life, but there is a part of her that is eaten away by guilt, knowing that her sister wouldn't want her to go down this path.
    
    never quite knowing when to quit, kita refuses to give up until her goal is accomplished, even if it means killing herself in the process. growing up earlier than any child should has made kita quite callous and bitter.

Personality: It's almost like Rin is two different people sometimes, with the ability to switch between the two at the drop of a hat. There's the side of them that is sleek and cat-like: a sharp-tooth smile, a relaxed stance, claws at the ready but put away for now. They move with a fluidity only achieved by the sneakiest of creatures and weave words like cotton thread on a loom. They're a threat, it's very obvious. But they're a stowed threat. An animal on a leash is only ever dangerous when told to attack. When called to heel, Rin is perfectly capable of acting the part. Of acting human. But Rin is called Nekomata for a reason. He wears the title with a smug sense of satisfaction. Like the cat who got the cream. Rin is only a beast disguised in human skin. He's blood and screams and the deep tones of red. He's filled with a latent rage that he saves for his enemies. In those moments, gone is the lackadaisical house cat and instead replaced with the ferocity and ferality of the tiger. Gone is the human skin and all that's left is the demon hiding behind it. In this state, Rin becomes a calculated and sharp-eyed killer. He stands taller, firmer, deadlier. No one knows who the true Rin is. Just like a snake sheds it's skin, Rin sheds both of his personalities for the other like water rolling down his back.

Gang: a bodyguard/attack dog for the Jade Dragons
History: Hino Rin was only three when their father first started teaching them krav maga. Hino Hayato was young himself when he began learning aikido from his father and though krav maga was only recently established in Japan, Hayato could see the merits of teaching his child such a powerful martial art. So along with learning aikido, Rin learned krav maga. He's just recently begun to dabble in the Filipino knife-fighting style of Eskrima. Hayato was the one who got involved with the Jade Dragons. He was a single father (his wife, Rin's mother passed shortly after Rin's birth) and while he had many skills, his ability to fight was the one that would bring him the quickest and largest amount of money. He joined the Jade Dragons as a bodyguard, in a low station. He slowly rose up the ranks, devoting his loyalty, but refusing to devote the time needed to advance quickly. He still had a son he adored after all. Rin grew up among the Jade Dragons, switching between the seriousness of gang life and the peaceful escape of being a kid with a doting father. There was always that switch with his father. Rin saw it often, the way he'd turn himself into a predatory creature within seconds. A single call was all it took for Hayato to shift into the deadly beast he could become. But forever gentle hands with his son. Only ever kindness and encouragement for his child. Rin had a good childhood. If not a slightly different one to your typical child. He was taught not to smack the cat. He was taught not to track mud through the house. He was taught his ABCs and his 123s. He was always encouraged and always protected. He was also taught how to kill a man at age ten. He was gifted his first knife at age thirteen. At fifteen, he'd been practicing krav maga for so long that he'd graduated to true sparring. With a life of being so loved and so cherished, it's a wonder where all his rage came from. Something happened to Rin sometime around the year they turned eighteen. Hayato doesn't know what it was. No one really does. But that was the year Rin became different. They began to smile with dark eyes. They walked with an eerie gait, reminiscent of an animal. Whatever happened, it turned them into a raging, wild thing, loosely o
bscured with a savage grin.

  Though Satoshi's reputation is that of a master, nobody outside of the Tokyo underground would recognize him. Aside from his above average height and broad shoulders, his appearance is that of the average Japanese salaryman. Messy, black hair frames his heart-shaped face while dark eyes bore holes through his clients. Save for a few moles, his pale face is free of scars and tattoos alike.
  
  His day to day wardrobe consists of Ametora with an emphasis on Ivy League fashion as it allows him to blend in with society while still staying stylish. In his studio however, he lets his tattoos shine.

  Satoshi is a man of many words and he isn't afraid to unleash them on anyone. Toeing the line between honestly and insolence, he's gained a reputation of a keen, but foul-mouthed artist. When he sees an issue he will be the first to speak out and likely, kick them out of his shop. This goes double if he senses that the problem is interpersonal rather than external. Regardless of their affiliation, he makes it his responsibility to shield people from undue harm and provide back up should they ever need it.
  
  The only exception his protective instincts is with liars, cheaters, and thieves. While the Yakuza are known for their crimes, Satoshi believes that there is a difference between being a criminal and bearing the name of Yakuza. They aren't cowards. Sure they might deal in shady businesses but lying (much less betraying) your brothers is obscene. If he catches wind of a traitor expect him to punch first and ask questions while punching. He doesn't take kindly to manipulation so unless you show a genuine level of remorse or an Ace Attorney level of evidence he won't be letting go of that grudge any time soon. If he does turn out to be wrong however, he is more than willing to rectify his mistakes.

  BIOGRAPHY

  From the beginning Satoshi had been undesirable. Born on April 4th and nearly killing his mother, he found himself being the lightning rod of hate. It was his fault that his mother wasn't able to have anymore children. It was his fault that his father lost his job. It was his fault that his bike chain snapped. Perhaps the last one was true but it didn't mean that he ought to get slapped every time that he made a mistake. By the third year of middle school, Satoshi had the worst attendance record in his year and on the rare occasions that he did attend, he would rank in the bottom fifty of the school. He could feel their resentment simmering ever. As much as they wanted to kick him out, their values would not allow for it. He needed to do something truly heinous to justify exile lest they lose face in front of their extended family.
  
  Satoshi afforded his parents that mercy by dropping out of high school and stealing all the cash in his parents' home. He moved from motel to motel before finally settling in a homeless encampment on the edge of Yokohama. Between the lack of housing and his abrasive demeanor, it was difficult to hold down a job without his employers asking questions or underpaying him. Most of his friends had long grown out of their delinquent phase so they could do little but offer a few yen whenever they passed by.
  
  Crime became the next step, albeit not by choice. He advertised himself as a freelance laborer with the intention of doing chores for cheap but found himself employed by a notorious loan shark. All he had to do was break some windows, threaten them with a few names, and collect the money his boss was owed. It was easy to collect debt when you could pretend that every client was an asshole, but suppressing your conscience can only work for so long. Satoshi finally broke when he was told to resolve an old grudge between his boss and a tattoo artist. As it turned out, the horisihi refused to tattoo his boss due to disrespecting him and the symbology behind wabori. Believing that their work wasn't meant to enact petty revenge, he quit the job and fled for the artist's home.
  
  Though he managed to fend off his former coworkers, the tattoo artist's fingers were crushed and his shop completely torn apart.
  
  When the artist asked Satoshi what he was willing to offer to make things right, Satoshi fell on his knees, sobbing that he barely had a yen to his name. The artist gestured for Satoshi to stand before dropping a needle in his hand.
  
  "Do not pay me with your life. Pay with your hands."
  
  After seven years of apprenticing and another ten in the professional world, Satoshi has become a renown horishi and Masumi Arakawa's successor. Despite taking far longer than modern machines, Satoshi and his master are still the go-to for not the Yakuza, but enthusiasts around the world.

If attending a more formal occasion like a date or a meeting he wears a full suit but keeps it very monochromatic.   - Workaholic: Sung-ho is a hard worker, he always has been. But being this way all his life plus his persistence and structured life means he can come across as a workaholic. All he seems to do is work whether it be at his actual job or working on himself, he doesn't seem to ever take a break. He will definitely burn out at some point if he doesn't learn that he can't handle everything.
  - Pessimistic: Growing up with little friends and his perfectionist nature means he constantly doesn't feel good enough. This is likely why he works so hard and also leads to a lot of other negative and depressive feelings. Because of this, he tends to retreat from the few friends he has and work harder in the gym instead.
  - Stubborn: Sung-ho has a very strong internal moral compass so despite his neutral nature he still feels very passionate about certain issues like keeping women and children out of gang wars and the like. He also doesn't like asking for help and reacts negatively to criticism.

    Growing up the only child of expats is never hard. Originally born in Busan, South Korea, Sung-Ho's parents Ha-eun and Jae-hoon had difficult jobs that made decent money so instead of being left in Korea with his grandparents which would've been kinder to his mental health, Sung-ho was dragged to Tokyo with them. Often raised by maids and babysitters who didn't do their jobs properly so he often raised himself. Sung-ho dealt with a lot of loneliness from a young age. He did okay in school at the beginning, but his parents wanted their son to have the same level of success that they had. They pressured him to do well in all aspects of life. He hated school but gained a lot more through sports. He did taekwondo, volleyball, and tennis, making a few friends in the process but he still noticed a disconnect between himself and his Japanese friends. He instead gave up on a lot of things that defined him culturally as Korean and spoke Japanese more to his parents. His parents weren't overly happy about this and so when he turned seventeen they told him they wanted him to go to Korea to do his military service as soon as possible under the guise of getting it over with when in reality they just wanted him to experience Korean culture more which he was a bit excited but still cautious about.     As soon as he was eligible, he went off to Korea to complete his mandatory military service. Finally being surrounded by other Koreans he thought he'd understand them but being culturally closer to Japan than Korea caused more issues. It seems his parents' plans for him to experience Korean culture backfired as it was clear he wasn't anything like a regular Korean fresh outta school. He dreamed of life after the military and threw himself more into exercise turning from a regular slightly fit kid into a bit of a beefcake. He worked out a lot in order to waste time. When he finished his military service, Sung-ho went back to Japan to get a business degree so he could work a regular job. The degree was okay, he got into a pretty decent university but didn't make many friends. A lot of his old friends didn't really talk to him during his military service despite him giving them his contact info. He had a lotta trust issues regarding people and even the odd partners he had found it hard. At the age of twenty-four, he finished his degree. After attempting regular office work for a year and translating for companies who couldn't speak Korean, he felt incredibly stuck and tired. He really hated working at these boring ass companies and being treated like a number. He would rather be seen as an actual living breathing person. He decided to try something new. He quit these jobs and looked around for anything that would give him a bit more happiness. He got a job first as a bouncer outside a nightclub and jumped around from club to club gaining a bit of a reputation for his general physique and workaholic nature.     It started with typical security work but it didn't take long before he was roughing up Jade Dragon members and using his bilingualism to get them information through definitely not torturing people. He was intimidating and had a dark look in his eye. He didn't like to admit that he got a rush from beating people up. He started doing boxing at a gym and working out his arms more. He would tell the Brass Tigers that he was simple muscle for hire and that he'd need to be paid a decent check. He could always find work elsewhere. So he joined the Brass Tigers payroll whilst maintaining a more neutral diplomatic stance when it came to gang wars. He kind of just stumbled into this life of crime. Sungho likes money and all he really wanted was to live without having to worry about the necessities of life. He is aware that the gangs like him and that many would want him as a full member due to his physical and mental strengths but has made every attempt to avoid this conversation. He likes being a mostly free agent. He just tries to stick around those he knows will watch out for him. Maybe eventually he'll join the gang properly but for now, he wants to keep the right amount of distance between himself and the big bosses. He still has that sense of loyalty to friends and family and he proves his loyalty to them every day through his dedication to the gang and the knowledge that he acquires for them
  
  Imaginative: Spending a lot of his childhood alone caused Haku to be more imaginative than other kids. He always said that he would've followed an artistic pursuit if the incident never happened. He has a very active mind and likes mysteries. He is a good artist and is very expressive with his thoughts and feelings. However, he saves that for those he is closest to.
  
  Adaptable: Kohaku is a quick thinker, organized, and aware of others. He has confidence and a good social life so when it comes to work, he is incredibly resourceful. His street and book smarts are strong. He is incredibly reliable.

  Greedy: Money is the root of all evil. At first, doing gang work meant was so he could get his sister the treatment she needed but eventually, he started charging more and more for his services so he could make extra money. He likes nice things so he doesn't think of it at all as a bad thing. Hopefully, he won't forget who all this was for.
  
  Obsessive: Kohaku tends to hyperfocus on things like work or hobbies and even sometimes people. Especially after his sister's accident, he became obsessed with becoming a cop to catch bad guys but he often goes about things in the wrong way if he gets too obsessed. He needs to keep a clear head in situations of stress which is hard.
  
  Vindictive: Deep down, Kohaku is a very spiteful individual. He hates people who hurt the innocent which is admirable but would quickly hurt those who did. He is stubborn and doesn't forgive easily. In the future, he could be led down dangerous paths and commit very violent acts against others.
  
  Manipulative: These past few years, Kohaku has become quite the double-crosser and manipulated many high-profile individuals within the police. He has managed to use many subversive methods and has used his perceived good nature to get what he wants. He even does so with gang members so they'll spend more money for his information. Whilst all this benefits him, it still makes him a dangerous person.
  
  Dishonest: Haku's dishonesty benefits him a lot. Being in his position he needs to lie and cheat to get the information he needs and the money he wants. However, this dishonesty means others who see through his manipulation tactics don't trust him in the slightest.     Kohaku was born in Nerima, Tokyo to a mum named Mayu and a dad named Takuya. They were office workers who weren't paid much so they were always busy working to try and provide for their kids. He spent a lot of time being raised by his grandparents who were really old and frail so he had to make up his own play during his early childhood. He was described by others as imaginative. He was 5 when his little sister Akari was born. She was the most precious kid in the world to him and he wanted to do whatever he could for her. However, he wasn't someone she particularly could look up to due to how others treated him. He was bullied growing up for being smaller than the other kids. He stuck up for himself though and a couple of scuffles here and there plus one expulsion got them off his back. When they moved to a different school everything was a lot easier. He managed to continue to take care of his little sister for a long time and lived quite happily.
    
    However, one day when they were 15 and 10 years old, they took a cab back home from school instead of taking the subway due to Akari's insistence and got hit by a drunk driver. Kohaku suffered minor injuries but Akari needed to have one of her legs amputated. Kohaku was angry and to make matters worse, the drunk driver had stolen the vehicle and gotten away with it for months after. The complete ineptitude of the police to solve a simple crime that had robbed Akari of many of her hobbies. This whole incident lit a flame in Kohaku. He wanted to become a cop so people could get sentenced and receive the justice that they deserve. He worked hard in school and hoped that this never had to affect him again. By the time the guy was convicted the family had managed to put things in place for Akari to live a regular life but the medical bills and lawyer payments were a heavy burden. They sued the crap out of the guy and won the case and managed to get Akari the things she needed.     Getting into the police academy remains to this day one of Kohaku's proudest achievements. He worked insanely hard to graduate well and did as many of the courses on offer that they would allow. He graduated and was placed into the Tokyo Metropolitan Police originally reporting to the Community Affairs Division but after cracking down on a pretty intense fraud case, he was promoted to Senior Police Officer and placed into the Traffic Division. He spent a few years chasing down speeders and the like but after a lengthy shoot-out with a madman who had taken a hostage and leading a team of officers to deescalate the situation, he was promoted once again to Sergeant, this time due to the high profile nature of many of these crimes he'd ran into over the years they wanted him in the Organised Crime Division.
    
    As one of the youngest in the division, Kohaku felt very out of place as he had more recent experience being out in the streets than the older guys in the division. He so desperately wanted to make a change but many of the officers there were more concerned with keeping the peace than fighting and catching the gangs they were supposedly meant to be combatting. Fed up, Kohaku put in a request to be shifted to a different department but that was denied. He felt increasing hatred towards the police for not being the gleaming hopeful star in the sky that he always thought. It was during this time that he received word from his younger sister now 21 that she had been diagnosed with cancer and that the family simply didn't have the money to pay for treatment.     It wasn't something he wanted to do, but the gang life was looking more and more appealing. As long as innocents weren't getting hurt which many didn't like letting happen, Kohaku thought he could be of use to the gangs. He had extensive knowledge of many gang members through their databases so he approached a Lieutenant within the Jade Dragons and explained his situation. That his sister had cancer, that he couldn't afford to help her on a Sergeant's salary, that he needed extra money, and that he could get her information from within the Organised Crime Division and warn them of anything that was coming their way. Luckily she was kind enough to hear him out and through enough hazing and subtle torturing, the Jade Dragons began to trust a cop. A few gang members met his sister and could see that they looked alike and that she was very sick. It was clear as day that everything Kohaku was saying was true. Kohaku swore to the gang that he'd always tell the truth and that if he disappointed them at all, he'd be willing to leave the country and never return.
    
    He spent a few years as the secret informant of the Jade Dragons and went under the name Haku. It was a simple cover for sure but who would ever think that they could have information from within the police. Organized Crime was one of the hardest divisions to have a corrupt cop in. Lazy cops yes, but not corrupt ones. He would sneak them information about opposing gangs, individual member files, cops they need to be wary of, and many more. Needless to say, he was their secret weapon and the one with the most legitimate information out there. He was trustworthy for someone who wasn't even a proper gang member, probably more trustworthy.   Kyra is a third generation Brass Tigers member. Her grandfather, Dominic, immigrated to Japan with his family. He was an academic who had accepted a job at a university in Tokyo, where he would teach while continuing his own research and engineering in new explosive weaponry. As the years went on, he faced scrutiny for some of his less ethical inventions, his peers questioned if the use of such weapons would really be necessary. After a rather reckless test of a new bomb where a couple students got injured, Dominic was dismissed from his job. A now disgraced academic struggling to find any work, he was approached by the Yakuza. He was hired as the Brass Tiger's demolitions expert and after many years became one of the most loyal and trusted members of the organization.
  
  His son, Aiden, happened to share his scientific and experimental nature. Aiden followed in his father's footsteps and took over as demolitions expert when his father died. Kyra was born after a short term fling her father had. Originally, her mother planned to have the child and talked through co-parenting with Aiden, who agreed to be involved in the child's life. When the time came though, her mother decided she wasn't prepared for this, taking her to her father's place and disappearing when Aiden went to the kitchen to get tea, not leaving a trace. From then on, it was just Aiden and Kyra. It was an odd environment for a child, a workshop filled with explosives. But it worked. Kyra took to the family trade like a duck to water, her father explaining how specific bombs were made were like bedtime stories to her, so when she was finally able to actively help she was a natural.
  
  As a teen, Kyra was her father's demolition assistant. Helping in the workshop, aiding in setting explosives up, even inventing some new tools of her own. Sure, being involved with the Brass Tigers could be quite scary, but it's all she's ever known. At this point they're like family to her- a family that could and probably would kill her if she made one wrong move, but a family nonetheless. Besides, she became very passionate about her job within the organization. She can't really imagine herself doing anything else. When she was younger, there was a pit in her stomach every time she stopped to think about what these bombs were capable of. But as time went on, she became desensitized, stopped caring or thinking about it. Instead, she invested in the scientific progress of it all, pushing the boundaries of destruction, engrossed in the beauty of an explosion she'd worked so hard to help create.
  
  About two years ago, her father passed away unexpectedly. He was hit by a drunk driver and died in the hospital a few days later. The loss was a hard one for Kyra, but she's managed to push through and stay strong, knowing it's what he would have wanted. Being primed for the job of demolitions expert pretty much her whole life, the transition from her father to her was pretty seamless. The Brass Tiger higher ups already knew her, she was pretty well trusted because of her family's constant loyalty, plus her skills made her extremely good at the job. Although sometimes not taken seriously due to her age and lack of grace when it comes to talking to people, the Yakuza know she is fully capable of doing her job, getting creative in tough situations. Personality: People like to say " it's the quiet ones you need to watch out for" and Sorine is no exception. On one hand, Sorine is quiet and reserved . Being an observer has always been one of her main pastimes. From watching how others interact socially, to watching mods and medical procedures - she learns almost everything by hanging back and taking her own mental notes. She's not soft spoken perse, but generally doesn't say much unless it's something worth saying. On rare occasion, she has been known to get rowdy with other members of her gang from time to time. On the other hand, a hot temper pairs nicely with being protective of her gang. Since they're the only family she has, she will do anything she can to keep them safe. History: The memories are hazy now, like a dream that dances on the very edge of your memory. Growing up around gangs has always been a large portion of Sorine's life and she struggles to remember a time when she was without their presence . The history of her family is vague and overtime has been swallowed by rumors and guesses as to what actually became of her parents. She knows she had a mother and father when she was little. Maybe until she was about six? The memories hiss in and out like the static of an old television- making her head ache is she thinks too long about them. Her father was gentle handed, and her mother was always laughing. What did their faces look like? Were they killed? Did they abandon her? The answers don't really matter now that they're gone. From pre-teen through her teenage years is where Sorine picked up most of her skills for both fighting and medical work. Learning to fight was a necessity where she grew up and she acquired different fighting techniques by watching watching both allied and rival gang members. Practicing kept her in shape and helped her build her strength. As she learned more as a medic she realized a lot of her work was done in the streets and in her early twenties, she chose to have mods done to her arms and writs so that she would have steadier hands for doing delicate procedures.   Hanako can come across as timid or shy towards strangers, but she is simply withdraw, afraid of letting her true personality show for fear that it will be ill-received. Until she has a chance of warming up to someone, she remains distant but polite.
  
  She is fairly decent at masking her emotions, which leads others to believe that she is calm and collected but in reality, she is just able to hide how she is truly feeling.

  Hanako's childhood started off relatively happy, she supposed. She had a roof over her head, food on the table, and her parents were loving towards her and her younger sibling. But this fragile happiness was not to last. Soon the money began to run dry, gambled away by her father. Her mother eventually grew tired of hearing his various excuses and one day when Hanako came back from school her mother was gone, her belongings missing with only a note to explain that she just couldn't do it anymore.
  
  Overnight Hanako had to transition from child to caretaker for her sibling. With her father gone for most of the night and sleeping away the day, it fell on Hanako to take care of her sibling. Learning how to cook was difficult, but she got the hang of it after some trail and error and some burn marks to remember her mistakes by.
  
  It was fairly easy to lie to the adults around her, pretend that everything was just fine at home. When she was old enough, she managed to get a part-time job and she learned quickly the best hiding places around the house to stash money so her father couldn't find it; the plan was to get out of the city once she turned eighteen and take her sibling with her, to what she hoped would be a better life.
  
  But all her carefully crafted plans came crashing down when she was seventeen. She was used to not seeing her father for a couple of days, the man most likely passed out somewhere or gambling away his life in a casino but when the days stretched into a week was when the worry began to grow.
  
  The Jade Dragons came knocking not too soon after that, looking for her father. When they learned he had skipped town with the money he owed them, they decided that Hanako would pay back his debt instead.
