Where's your will to be weird?
THE BEGINNING
Everything had been at peace. People lived happily among themselves, celebrating with festivities and laughter. Gold was not a rarity. Food was poured across tables. Everyone was well fed and happy with the lives they lived. And, of course, there was magic. There were witches, wizards, warlocks, sorcerers, and sorceresses. There were fairies, pixies, werewolves, vampires, and mermaids. There were dragons, ogres, giants, trolls, and goblins. And all of these creatures lived in peace beside humans. There was no war. That is, not until greed and lust for power consumed a select few, then expanded, forming a new part of society, a new group known as Apex.
Because of this group, everything slowly began to change. Poverty rose from wealth, pulling down those who lived richer lives. Starvation and hunger became well known, and people lived on the streets, fighting to survive. All the while, the members of Apex strived in their search for power. Their wealth was the wealth of kings, their food large and of the finest variety. This were all things they stole from the people below them, the forming underclass. And these people hated them for it.
Over time, sides began to form. Some sided with Apex, other sided against it, becoming known as rebels. They embraced the title with pride, protesting against the rising Apex. Yet their power continued to grow. Soon, they had the ogres on their side, as well as the trolls and goblins. Three species fully devoted to Apex and their greedy desire. But the people continued to fight back, continued their movements against them. At first, everything went well. Apex seemed to of backed off, seemed to of let the people live their lives.
Celebrations occurred. People cheered, drank whine, ate whatever food they could find. They thought they had won, that war would continue to never happen in their utopian society. Yet they were wrong. It was the night of one of these celebrations that Apex attacked, that they made their move against society. No one had expected the attack, and the deaths and injuries were fatal. Thousands upon thousands were killed, murdered by the hands of Apex's members. After the night was done, bodies lay sprawled out across the land, lifeless eyes wide with surprise.
This night became known as the Night of Red. And this night began the war.
THE WAR
The war proved to be deadly and frightening. People fought against one another, using magic and weapons alike. The battles were bloody, resulting in many losses. Grave yards expanded to great lengths, burying the dead, tombstones horribly carved. No more flowers or rosaries lay on the graves. All was solemn and silent, eerie and dangerous. Stories of ghosts and other creatures rose, being told at night around campfires. Fear filled people, and the war raged on.
Then, due to the severity of the war, the gods and goddesses of the world got involved. This war was much too violent, much to deadly, and must be put to an end. In order to do so, they sent the goddess Ceridwen down to Earth, giving her orders to select five people, five people she believed to be worthy, to be blessed with the gift to control one of the elements. Ceridwen did her duty, and chose her five. There was nothing seemingly special about those she chose. They were the average, everyday people, living regular lives, whether it was fighting to survive, or living in peace. But they were chosen.
There was Diana, a woman of grace and elegance, passion and dignity. She was given the gift of water. There was Norman the Fifth, a fierce, mighty man who laughed more then he hated. He was given the gift of earth. There was Hadley, a young girl who lived on the streets, with a heart both kind and powerful. She was given the gift of air. There was Finbar, a cocky, teenage boy who seemed to understand nothing, but understood everything. He was given the gift of fire. And, finally, there was Xavier, the eldest of the five, and the most serious. He was given the gift of light.
Why Ceridwen chose these specific people, no one knows. Some suspect it may of been passion. Others say it was traumatic events from their past. But it's a mystery unsolved, one people struggle to piece together day by day. All that matters, however, is that the five formed, and the five were powerful. They were the world's last, dying hope of peace.
FORMATION OF THE WARRIORS
Under to direction of Ceridwen, the five came together, becoming known as The Warriors. Hope once more began to fill the lands, and people found themselves smiling and laughing more and more each day. The Warriors worked together to end the war, fighting against Apex and pushing them back. Diana would heal the wounded with her water, Norman would block their paths with rocks, Hadley would suspend them in the air, Finbar would shoot out bursts of flame, and Xavier would give the final blow with a strike of light.
They grew stronger, and more people began to support them. Pixies and fairies would pull pranks on Apex members to help keep them back. Shapeshifters would attack while in animal forms. The war continued, and Apex was falling. With The Warriors, the supreme five, everyone believed this war would be one, and peace would begin once again. Their defense had become strong, their offense even stronger. Apex was losing more battles, and they were winning. Victory was at the tip of their fingers.
As fast as they had gained the upper hand, it was taken, swiped away from so abruptly, no one even seemed to notice. Yet Xavier did, despite the constant protest of the other warriors. He felt the change in the air, the stronger power arise. Something darker was coming, something none of them had seen before. He could feel it. But, despite his constant warnings, no one listened, brushing him aside as a crazy old man. Even the warriors, those he had fought side by side with for the years of victory, seemed to brush him off. So, instead of trying to explain what he believed was happening, he went and found out himself.
A NEW POWER
Xavier vanished, seemingly from the face of the earth. Most thought he probably wandered off in the night and got himself killed, mourning his lost, but also still celebrating the oncoming victory. They did not realize the journey he had set out upon, the journey to find the truth. A truth no one wished to hear, no one dared to believe, hiding behind their false image of victory. A truth so harsh the wise Xavier himself seemed unable to face it.
A greater darkness had risen, a power stronger then those of the warriors combined. A new magic much darker then the one that already existed. The power of darkness, which came in many different forms. With it came skills that had never existed before. Necromancy. Possession. The summoning of demons or other creatures, both good and evil, Light and Dark. These new findings frightened the old Xavier, and he turned to flee, to warn the others of what he seen. Yet, on his way out of enemy territory, he was ambushed. He never returned home, and none know what happened to him.
THE GREAT FALL
The warning never reached the other warriors. They still believed victory was on their side, and celebrated by drinking and feasting on bread. People broke out into song and dance around campfires, laughing hysterically and beautifully. Yet victory was very far from their reach, for Apex had the upper hand now, an advantage no one knew they had. The element of surprise was on their side, as was their new forms of dark magic.
Out of no where, the festivities came to an abrupt end, the laughter replaced by screams. A battle broke out, one so fast, so swift, none could see what was happening. The Warriors, once mighty and strong, were attacked first. The now four warriors were quick to defend themselves and their people. But what they were up against was much stronger then they expected. It was demons that came out of the shadows, not the Apex members they had become so used to. Their armor was impenetrable, their own magic much stronger then a flimsy humans. Almost immediately, the four were out numbered and taken over.
As Diana swung around her water, a beast appeared from behind her and thrust a blade through her chest, killing her instantly. While Norman built walls of rock, demons broke through, swarming him and gnawing at his flesh like bread. Finbar was scorched by his own fire, burnt into a pile of ash. And young Hadley, only twelve years old at the time, simply vanished. To where, no one knows. Most suspect she was kidnapped by the demons, taken to Apex to be executed. No one believes she survived.
That night proved that victory had not yet been won. Apex continued to rise, gaining power and land every day, laughing at their impoverished opponents. They had this war in the palm of their hand. The Warriors were dead, as was hope. Soon, the world would be theirs. It has been thirty years since the death of the warriors, and most have lost hope. They simply gave up, living on the streets, starving and in poverty. What had once been peace was now gone.- 1) No one liners. I put a lot of effort into this role play, and I will not accept anything less then your best effort. If you have a problem with that, then shoo.
2) This is a medieval role play. There is no advanced technology, no cell phones, no guns, you get the idea. Keep it in the time period, and don't throw a hissy fit if I correct you on it.
3) The bigger story line will be revealed as the role play goes on. All that matters as you start is knowing the history, how everything happened, what all there is. This will (hopefully) keep the role play moving, and keep everyone interested.
4) No powerplaying. Meaning, your character cannot be all powerful. They cannot regenerate and lightening speeds, they cannot kill a beast with a few hits. Everything takes time, and everyone has weaknesses. Bring out this weaknesses so your character is humane. Also, any fight will be AT LEAST five posts. With detail.
5) AT LEAST two paragraphs per post. That is five lines per paragraph, and I won't accept anything less. If you don't follow this rule, I WILL kick you out of the role play. If you need help with your post, feel free to message me and I'll give you the best advice I can.
6) Make your character name a different color then the rest of your sheet if you read all the rules and history.
7) If you don't post for more then two days, I will kill off your character(s). If you are going out of town or otherwise, please message me or let me know on the OOC thread, so I know you will be unable to post.
8) No full OOC posts in the IC thread. You may post OOC with your IC post, but otherwise, no. If you do, I'll be on your ass in point two seconds.
9) Keep it PG-13. You can curse all you want, but if any you-know-what occurs, please fade it to black. I shouldn't even have to put this rule...

Nymphia
This a beautiful land with crystal waters and luscious grass. Most animals, magical or not, are found here, as are sirens and mermaids. It is one of the remaining lovely lands left in this world.
The Fair Valley
This is the valley where the giants roam, living their lives in peace an harmony. It is nearly impossible to get to, with the Mysidian Mountains to the east, the Dark Woods to the south, the Bresden Mountains to the west, and the Gorgon Swamp to the north.
The Mysidian Mountains
These dangerous mountains are known for their goblins, trolls, and deadly, narrow paths. Most who traverse these trails barely survive or never return. There is also something quite mystical and magical about these mountains, though no one knows quite what it is.
The Dark Woods
A forest of many dangers and magic darker then most can comprehend. Ogres live in these woods, as do some of Apex. Few dare travel in this terrain, and, if they do return, are usually haunted by some event that happened within these dark trees. Once, this had been a wood of light, but, after Xavier's mysterious death, darkness overlapped it like a poison.
The Bresden Mountains
As beautiful as these mountains are, they are desolate and abandoned. Once, there had been villages and homes among the wide, welcoming paths, but now all lay abandoned and rotting, doors hanging open as if thrown off in a haste. In a way, it is almost eerie, and few travel in the area.
Gorgon Swamp
What is left of those against Apex survive and live here. Unfortunately, most are ill with fevers and other sorts of diseases. Food is scarce, and the water found is usually polluted and unsafe to drink. It's a town slowly losing hope, filled with desperate faces and hungry stomachs. Homes are falling apart, and many die every day. The dead are thrown in the water, since there is no room for a graveyard. This is the last little piece of the rebellion.
The Ruins of Drascus
This had once been the great, powerful city of Drascus. It was thriving, with markets sprawling out, festivities nearly every night, and plenty of food. Yet, this was also where the attacks began. Slowly, the city began to fall apart. But it wasn't until the very end that it collapsed. A sorcerer used his magic to cause destruction, a violent eruption of the volcano next to the bustling town. It was then that it fully fell, resulting in many deaths and the new headquarters of Apex.
Ogres
These giant creatures live in the Dark Woods, usually in groups of two or three. They have no magical talent, but are known for their great physical abilities, such as their immense strength and larger size. Of course, like all living things, ogres have their weaknesses. Since they are slow and rather clumsy, someone fast and light on their feet can have the upper hand in a fight against them. They are still quite challenging to beat, however, and are known for eating their fallen enemies. These creatures are apart of Apex.
Goblins
These are small, fiesty creatures who live in the lower portion of the Mysidian Mountains. They are rather cruel and greedy, doing anything in their power for gold or other forms of coin. They are quick and light, and not easily seen. Because of this, they are one of the more difficult creatures to defeat, especially for slower opponents. Yet they have an immense fear of fire, and can be quickly frightened away with the slightest flicker of flame. Goblins, along with ogres and trolls, are apart of Apex and their overall goal.
Trolls
Along with the goblins and ogres, these creatures have sided with Apex. They are nasty, unhygienic creatures who occupy higher portions of the Mysidian Mountains. Like ogres, they are known for feasting upon human flesh, and they have the same greedy desire for gold as goblins do. Even with all of this, they are much weaker creatures and easier to defeat.
Giants
Despite tales and other beliefs, giants are quite gentle creatures who wish no part in the war. They keep themselves hidden away in the Fair Valley, which is surrounded by the Mysidian Mountains and other dangerous paths, making it nearly impossible to get to. Here, the giants remain safe and separate from the war. However, when threatened, they are one of the most dangerous foes one could face.
Dragons
Dragons are mighty creatures that most seem to fear and avoid, even those in Apex. Of course, dragons can be dangerous, but only when threatened. If one leaves them alone, they leave them alone. They can be tamed and ridden, but only by one skilled enough to do so. Dragons are found all over this world, from the crystal waters of Nymphia to the steaming lava of the Ruins of Drascus.
