Answered Cryptic Thread Titles

I'd appreciate it if someone could clue me in on why there are so many cryptic thread titles now. By cryptic I mean titles composed entirely of punctuation and other symbols, like hyphen period square square square hyphen. Or just all squares. I've noticed several interest checks and character feedback threads with similar titles, and I can't figure out the utility of it.

What M Mesenterium said. Most of the time, these fonts aren't compatible with mobile screens, so they'll show up as squares.
