Trying to bring myself back
Welcome to The Arena!
Why are you here in the Arena you might be asking? Well, perhaps you're here for money? or weaponry? the winners of the arena gain whatever they had asked for when they decided to enter. I as the Host will be providing these rewards to all of you... I'll also be greeting you between phases or even during phases as i see fit. I hope all 24 of your come in, because i've created plenty of doorways for you all to make it in!

PHASE 1
Phase one is the entry level phase.
In Phase 1, all 24 character participate in a single bracket. This will be a system of 1v1 fights until we get down to the last fight. The winner of the last fight is ensured a top spot in the winners bracket and a place in Phase 2. Loser of the final Phase 1 battle will be placed in loser bracket, along with losers of any other battles in phase 1. In Phase 1 no character death is permanent. Characters are free to stay around and watch the battles unfold or fight in the mock arena area to pass the time while they wait for phase 1 to finish. This phase is simply for determining who will be moving onto phase 2, when the battle really starts.

PHASE 2
Phase two is the team phase

In phase 2, the remaining 12 (or half of total) contestants will fight in 2v2 style with friendly fire set to ON. This is for strategic purposes, as the battle will end when two characters die.
Battles end as soon as two people fall, NOT when one team is defeated. This means one person from each of the opposing teams may move on without their partner. Think sytrategically, because killing your own partnermay be your path to victory. However, under the situations you have done so, we will group you in a certain place in phase 3. And speaking of
PHASE 3 FINAL PHASE
Phase three is the final phase

Phase 3 involves the winners from the previous phase. Any who survived with their allies are paired against units whom betrayed their comrades in battle. If a situation arises where the numbers are uneven, we'll pair the outliers.
The final fight is a Free-For-All between the winners. The survivor is crowned the winner of our first ever arena in the history of COA.

We do hope you all enjoy your stay while here in the arena, and make plenty of use of the mock aren, which is open even to our "dead" characters!

Peri;The Childish Killer

Age: around mid twenties i would assume. 25.

Sex: Female

Series: Fire Emblem: Fates

History/Description of character personality:
Peri was a young girl living in a house with loving parents. Spoiled little child she was, and witness her mother's untimely death she did. Her mother died at the hands of one of their butlers, but the murderer in particular was prosecuted before Peri could enact revenge. Due to this, she decided to kill off butlers and maids as she wanted, labeling them as mistakes. Her father didn't seem to care much.
She eventually ran away, bored at the thinning numbers of servants. She took her pass-time of killing to an arena (not this one) and being there she scored 3rd place. However... Upon witnessing her spirit and devotion, the crown prince of Nohr, the kingdom she came from, had called her to be one of his retainers. She accepted with glee.
Now.. She finds herself in a new arena, and with lance in hand, even without her horse, she is determined to strike down every enemy until she's covered in red.
Abilities or powers of character:
Peri, like many in fire emblem, isn't extremely special on her own.
Character builds decide their abilities, and i will be using my version of her from my fates file.

She is a sword/lance using great lord, excelling in Strength, Speed, Skill and her own personal strength of high magical resistance.
Her skills are as follows
Sol: She will occasionally absorb the damage she deals and use it to heal her wounds.
Luna: She quickly locates a target's weakpoint, and strikes where they are most bulnerable to ignore the most of their defenses.
Aether: In even rarer cases, Peri will strike woth both at once. This is an even rare occurence that thr previous two
Galeforce: Peri's movements become quicker, capable of hitting the opponent many times without stopping. Typically, this is her finishing move.
Armored blow: A passive ability of her which makes it so she endures physical hits better when she is in the midst of attacking.
Bloodlust: As the enemy sheds more blood, Peri will become more ruthless in her attacks. She becomes less focused on herself, and more on securing her kill. Sol and aether are less likely ro be used the further into the fight... But Luna and galeforce will be alot more likely the closer the fight is to it's end.

Am i okay with being betrayed or killed off?
Yep. Whole point of the thread
Why did you choose this character? (Optional)
I wanted to attempt to see how far i could push her before i inevitably run into a character she realistixally cant beat.

"Here's blood in your eye!!!"
"Say goodbye to your intesines!!!"
"All of them who made me cry ARE DEAD MEAT!"

Name: Makoto Nijima
Age: 17-18
Sex/Gender: female
Series/Franchise: Persona 5
History/Description of personality: Despite appearing prim and proper on the surface, Makoto is actually more of a tomboy; she's trained in aikido (though she's never seen using it onscreen), enjoys violent action movies, never wears skirts other than her school uniform (which she wears leggings under) and seems to care little about fashion other than the headband she wears in her hair. Makoto is also something of a tsundere; while she's mostly a kind person, she can also be very bossy and is harshly critical of those who don't live up to her expectations, particularly Ryuji, whose case she constantly gets on due to his consistently nonchalant approach to school life, implying that she's a perfectionist. She also has a ton of repressed anger issues over being made to stand on a pedestal by adults who don't follow the same standards themselves, and as such has the worst temper of the group bar none, to the point that even Ryuji, who's quite short-tempered himself, often warns the others not to get her bad side.
Description fo abilities, if any: can summon Johanna
Are you OK with being betrayed, or killed off? yes

Character quote(s)
  • "I may be a phantom thief, but that's no excuse for me to start ignoring my presidential duties."
  • "I'm going to try to look at things a little differently from now on. And, well... I think that will help me break out of my shell."
  • "I've realized now there are more important things in life than being a prim and proper honor student."

Why you chose your character: Not overpowered, not underpowered
Why you think your character can/Can't win: realistically, she may not win against some since she's human but we'll see I guess

Age:28
Sex/Gender: Male
Series/Franchise: Halo
History/Description: There isn’t much known about Rookie, besides the fact he was born on Luna. His military history gives more detail. He joined the ODST’s and was a part of many raids and campaigns against rebels across UNSC space. His most notable accomplice would be during the Battle of Earth at New Mombasa, Kenya fighting against and avoiding the Covenant in the dead of night. Eventually making it out of the city with the rest of his team. Rookie is a man of few words, so he doesn’t have anything memorable to say. His actions speak much louder than his words anyway.

Description of abilities: Rookie is proficient with his suppressed smg and auto magnum. He possesses an assortment of grenades such as fragmentation, plasma, and incendiary.

Are you ok with being betrayed or killed off?: Sure, wheres the fun in not?

Why did you choose this character: While a tough soldier, is not invincible, and I would be willing to test his limits to unknown foes.
Why you think your character can/can’t win: He has special forces training making him deadly. But he can’t use magic, which is something that magicians can definitely capitalize on.

The Mock arena is open (As other), as we get new people feel free to battle for fun there while we wait for our roster to fill!

Name: Reynauld
Character's image:
250px-Crusader.png
th.jpg
Age (Or estimation)Sex/Gender: Reynauld is male, already married, and is I believe in his late thirties.
Series/Franchise: Darkest Dungeon
History/Description of personality:
8gtv9js7yz011.jpg
Reynauld, personality wise, is devoted to his deity, which he calls the Light-perhaps a little too devoted. Heroic, brave, he is a stalwart warrior and champion of the Hamlet he fights for... all the way up until his mental strength cracks-or fortifies.
Another less virtuous note about Reynauld is that he has a REALLY bad case of kleptomania, meaning he has a habit of stealing things...
Description for abilities, if any: Reynauld is tough, but not as tough as, say, a literal wall, but Reynauld suffers from a lack of speed.
Reynauld's faith in the Light has not gone unanswered. He can strike enemies in a zone in front of him by merely pulling out a piece of parchment and letting out a zealous accusation against his enemy, though such an attack is weaker than a blow from his mighty longsword, which he can use to slash at an enemy or knock them out temporarily with the hilt of his longsword-a slash of the longsword will also deal extra damage against undead enemies. Reynauld can also call on the favor of the Light to shield him some damage and create some light, but such a move draws the attention of enemies. Reynauld fights harder if in a brightly lit area.

(NOTE)
Finally, Reynauld carries a bottle of holy water to either boost his resistances to status effects or purge evil from an item. Very unlikely to see combat.

Are you OK with being betrayed, or killed off? (if you answer no, might as well leave.) : Yup-may or may not have been a result from watching my XCOM guys get mind controlled way too many times...

Optional Flavor text for forms
Reynauld, if stressed out enough, has a 75% chance to be afflicted and as a result his personality changes for the worse, as well as said affliction directly hampering him combat skill in random ways.
On the other hand, there is a 25% Reynauld becomes virtuous and gains a random boost to his combat skill, as well as bolstering Reynauld's heroism.
It is possible to calm Reynauld down enough to remove the affliction or stress him to the point his virtuous state stops.

Also, Reynauld must be in close range to fight. Knock him away, and he can't do anything. And while Reynauld is tough and hits hard, he is slow and only human.
Character Quotes
"Crushed by justice!"
"A righteous blow!"
"Truth prevails!"
"I banish thee!"
"I judge thee guilty!'

Jak/Mar
jakanddaxter0726131280jpg-881ebd_400w.jpg

Age: 18
Jak and Daxter Series
History/Description of personality
Character Name: Jak/ Mar
Character Source: Jak and Daxter Series
Character History:

Pre-birth, and early life:

Jak was born to the Grand House of Mar in Haven City as the son of King Damas. His mother was never mentioned in any of the games, making him one of a few characters to have a father with no apparent mother.

Some time after his birth, Jak's father was betrayed by Baron Praxis and Veger. The politics of the impeachment remain unknown, however it is known that it was amid the Metal Head Wars. Through betrayal and tyranny, Baron Praxis rose to power as the "temporary" ruler of Haven City and banished Damas to the Wasteland. Jak was pronounced an orphan and left on the city streets, losing the birth name Mar (for an unknown reason) and given the pen name "the kid."[11]
Veger, the council leader of Haven City, was in a desperate search for the Precursor catacombs in hopes of turning the Planetary defense grid on to defend the planet from the foreseeable future. Veger hoped to harness Jak's purity to awaken ancient Precursor technology, and managed to kidnap him intermittently before losing him to a new rebel movement coined the Underground whose sole purpose was to put young Jak back on the throne where he belonged and re-establish the House of Mar as the ruling dynasty of Haven City. Although Veger stated that he lost young Jak to the Underground, the Shadow (the Underground leader) noted that he found him just "wandering the streets," suggesting young Jak may have escaped by his own power.
At some point during these events, an older version of Jak arrived from a different time zone. Soon after being consoled by the Underground, Kor, an elderly member of the Underground, was assigned as the attendant of young Jak and his pet cracadog.
The Shadow originally planned for the young child heir to open the Tomb of Mar and pass the Trials of Manhood to gain the Precursor Stone in order to defeat the Metal Head leader, but the tomb refused to admit the kid on the grounds that he was too young to face the tests. Instead, older Jak forced his way through the door of the tomb in an attempt to retrieve the stone, which at the time was viewed as a desecration due to his impurity. After older Jak passed the trials, young Jak vanished: Kor kidnapped him so that he could open the Precursor Stone for himself.

Before The Precursor Legacy
Kor would later be revealed to be the Metal Head leader, disguising himself as an Underground member to sabotage Baron Praxis, who made a deal with him that somewhat neutralized the ongoing war activity. Older Jak sent young Jak into the past with the Shadow, in order to protect him from the danger of Kor.
Young Jak would then be raised into his adolescence under the watchful eye of the Shadow (real name being Samos). Jak grew up in Sandover Village alongside fellow villager Daxter, who became a close acquaintance. He also grew up with Samos' daughter Keira Hagai, who became his main love interest. The events of The Precursor Legacy would take place around ten years after this, when Jak was 15 years old.

The opening cutscene of The Precursor Legacy features Jak—along with his friend, Daxter (who was still in his human form)—straying about Misty Island; a place that was restricted by their watchover Samos. The two entered a large area where two dark figures were levitating in front of a large group of Lurkers, where they secretly observed them telling their apparent army to kill anyone straying from "the village."

Jak and Daxter then continued searching the island, where they were confronted by a large bone armor lurker shortly after the secret observation. The lurker charged the two when Jak quickly threw an activated dark eco canister, disposing of the lurker, but inadvertently knocking Daxter into a pool of dark eco. When Daxter came back out, he was in the form of an ottsel.
Jak then returned to Sandover Village to ask Samos for help. The two then discovered that their only hope of changing Daxter back is finding Gol Acheron, the dark eco sage, who lived far to the north of the continent. Jak then began basic combat and athletic training at Geyser Rock, where he got his heroic start collecting power cells and traveling north.
Jak and Daxter, along with Samos and Keira, later found out while at the Red Sage's hut that Gol Acheron and his sister Maia Acheron had been corrupted by the dark eco they were studying and were trying to activate a Precursor robot to assist them in opening a dark eco silo to flood the world with dark eco. Jak then entered their citadel, freed the captive sages and fought the two in their Precursor robot. Near the end of their battle, Jak discovered light eco, when four towers surrounding the silo opened up and the four colored ecos inside combined, which could change Daxter back (theoretically) or defeat Gol and Maia and save the world. He chose to save the world, and after the battle, Jak opened the ancient Precursor door at the top of the citadel, and discovered the rift gate and rift rider behind it, which would start the events of Jak II.
During The Precursor Legacy, Jak was mute for an unknown reason. Note that young Jak, the kid, from Jak II did not speak either.

Before Jak II

Between the end of The Precursor Legacy and the start of Jak II, Jak, Daxter, Keira, and Samos moved the rift rider and rift gate back to Sandover Village from the location of the large Precursor door. The four are seen studying the artifact in the opening cutscene, where Keira discovered that the Rider somehow interacts with the Ring. Jak was left to find out how to activate it, where he pressed the ruby button encased in the Heart of Mar , which activated the time map. This opened the Gate, which inadvertently released the metal heads from an unknown location and caused a swarm of metal heads to attack Sandover Village, starting the second of the two Metal Head Wars.
Jak then managed to activate the Rider and entered the Gate, where they were sent into the future in Haven City. Upon entering the city, Jak was arrested by a patrol of Krimzon Guards headed by their commander, Erol. Daxter escaped (starting the events of the spin-off game Daxter), while Keira somehow became a mechanic in the city, and Samos was arrested and imprisoned (as his equivalent for that timezone was currently the leader of the Underground but called the "Shadow," and was therefore taken into custody in confusion).
Jak would be imprisoned for two years before being rescued by Daxter at the end of Daxter (game)

Though Jak's appearances are brief, the plot leading up to Jak II concerning Jak's acquisition of dark powers is somewhat significant. During these two years, he was imprisoned and experimented on under the Dark Warrior Program. He went through multiple experiments and injections, changing his previous personality seen in The Precursor Legacy from a quiet, headstrong boy with an apparent mutism disorder, to a bitter, revenge-stricken adolescent. By the events of Jak II, Jak broke away from his mutism.

Jak II

After being rescued by Daxter and escaping from prison, Jak experienced the first display of his dark alter ego(evinced from past experiments) while defeating a squad of guards in the Slums. He was asked to do so by Kor—who was disguised as a human working for the Underground—in order to protect a "very important" child. After defeating the guards, Kor directed Jak to the Underground, a rebel movement waging war against Baron Praxis; Kor noting that its leader, the Shadow, could use fighters like him (Dark Jak). Kor told Jak to find the hideout in a dead-end valley near the city wall, instructing him to ask for Torn.

Upon meeting Torn, Jak was at first rejected. After Jak told the leader that he wished to see the "Shadow," Torn gave him the mission "Retrieve banner from Dead Town", in which Jak succeeded; starting initiation missions for membership to the Underground.

From then on, Jak worked with a variety of new characters including Krew, a local smuggler and gang-lord, who had apparent connections with the Underground, as well as Onin, a blind soothsayer who knew of Jak's arrival from the past, and was also able to foresee his future. Others included Brutter, Kor, Vin, and Sig. Jak later discovered that the strange new world which they were making their way through was actually in the future, and that Haven City was built around Sandover Village, which was now known as Dead Town.
Later in the game, Jak met the Shadow, and discovered it was actually younger Samos. He found Keira and older Samos as well, and upon defeating Kor (who revealed himself to be the Metal Head leader), sent his younger self (the "very important" child) back into the past with the Shadow to grow up safely in Sandover Village, thus repeating the time loop.

Jak 3

Shortly after the events of Jak II, war broke out on the streets of Haven City, as new Krimzon Death Bots took over a vital section of the industrial area of Haven, and a large group of stronger Metal Heads that survived the death of their leader concentrated in the gardens sector of the city (at that point renamed Metal Head city). Veger saw this as an opportunity to rid Haven City of Jak, and therefore found him guilty in association with Krew, who compromised Haven City's security which they thought let the metal heads into the city. Veger, on behalf of the Grand Council of Haven City, banished Jak to the Wasteland for life.Distraught, only accompanied by Pecker and Daxter, Jak began looking for salvation in the midst of the desert. He eventually fainted in exhaustion, and having the beacon given to him by Ashelin just before their departure, was found by the king of Spargus, named Damas.

Jak, along with Daxter and Pecker, were taken into Damas' sanctum where they were bathed and Jak's clothing was reduced and his hair cut. Jak nearly died, as Damas noted he was preparing to have his monks pray for him. Jak fought in arena matches to prove himself worthy of keeping, where he eventually earned citizenship to Spargus, and became an official "wastelander." During this process he met Sig again, an ally from Jak II, in the Arena of Death, where they were ordered to kill each other under arena rules, though they both withheld the task and were forced to prove their worth to Spargus another way.

Later, Jak was invited back to Haven City by Ashelin. Though he initially refused, he returned to fight in the War for Haven City. Before entering Haven City however, Jak had an encounter with Count Veger, who activated a Precursor robot, although Jak managed to defeat it. Later, after reuniting with Torn, Cyber Errol was revealed to be the leader of the KG Death Bots as well as the surviving Metal Heads, however the greater threat was from the incoming Dark Maker ship, which Errol sought to control in order to destroy the planet.
In order to destroy the ship, Jak needed to activate the Planetary Defense System by accessing the catacombs near the ruins of the Mar Memorial Stadium. Damas answered Jak's call for help, but was crushed under their vehicle when a blast overturned it, inadvertently revealing that Damas was Jak's father in the final moments of his life. Jak continued through the catacombs, activating the Planetary Defense System and traveled to the Dark Maker's ship to stop Cyber Errol, who escaped in a terraformer before the ship was destroyed. Returning to the Wasteland, Jak defeated Errol and his terraformer. The Precursors, revealed to be ottsels, asked him to come with them to protect the universe. He declined the offer due to the inseparable nature between Jak and Daxter similarly witnessed in the opening cutscene in the beginning of the game (when Daxter stayed behind with Jak in the Wasteland). It is also revealed that Jak's birth name was in fact Mar leaving many fans to speculate on whether Jak is the actual "Mar" who built Haven City, or if he is just of the same lineage and named after the famous figure.

Very well written form, i love the detail you went into with it. However, would you mind putting the history in a spoiler tag? The post is a bit too lengthy for someone on mobile like me. Thank you!

Name: Sebastian Michaelis

Gender: Male

Age: 1000+

History: He keeps his past to himself, though he has mentioned he met an ancient pharoh. As well as claimed to be the creator of the Black Plauge.

Personality: He is the perfact butler, and always remains such. To a visitor, he is a perfact handsome gentleman. However, underneath that he is a bloodthirsty killer. Relishing in even watching his own master, who he is suppose to protect, getting into near death situations. He also has an uncanny affection for cats. Can be quite the show-off if the situation allows him to. He loves being the center of attention. He prefers to fight in wide, open areas. And is not afraid to break whatever he is in to achieve that.

Abilities: He is supernaturally strong, fast, and agile. As well as having a higher sence of sight and smell.
He also is a master at improvision, being able to use literally anything as a weapon. From a sewing needle and thread, to a gun. His prefered is cutlery. He seems to never run out of forks and knives to use.
Minor illusions: altering his physical apperance or images.
Can see souls if he wants to.
He can control shadow, but this is more of a thing to hide himself. Not really used to attack, just surprise.

Ok to be killed off: yes.

Other: Holy objects do not affect him. He can go into churches, wear roseries/crosses with no affect. Holy water, also, has no affect.

Quotes: "I am simply one HELL of a butler."

"As long as there is the contract, I will protect your life. However, if you make a mistake of your own accord, you will possibly suffer a very painful experiance. You already know that, don't you?"

Name: Sakuya Izayoi
thats not very knife.jpg
Age:(estimation)-25

Sex/Gender-Female

Series/Franchise-Touhou project

History-Sakuya is a human who acts like a youkai. She acts with basic respect toward people she doesn't know, and, for some reason, is less kind toward other humans. After knowing someone for a while, like Reimu or Marisa, she will gradually warm up to them. To anyone who threatens her home or the residents of the SDM, however, she is ruthless and frighteningly violent. She also has a very high work ethic, never slacking off and only taking a break when work is done.

Description of abilities, if any
Serious nerfs included(Most of the skill cards are gone..)
Edit: Gonna be like Jeff Kaplan on Mercy

  • Chronokinesis: Sakuya has the ability to manipulate her own perception of time to her will. She can stop it, speed it up, slow it down, reverse it, halve her foes' age,but cannot erase it completely.
  • Manipulation of Space: To a certain degree, Sakuya is capable of warping space. She uses this to make the Scarlet Mansion bigger on the inside than on the outside.
  • Paradox Creation: Sakuya can compress time and space around herself or an object to make future and past exist at the same time, thus creating multiple versions of said object at the same time. This can be used to create copies of herself and her knives.
  • Lunar Dial: A stopwatch that she can use to stop time.
  • Skill Cards
    • Bounce, No Bounce: Sakuya fires knives that bounce on all sorts of surfaces.
    • Dancing Star Sword: Knives float around and attack in sync
    • Magic Star Sword: Sakuya fires knives and can speed them up and slow them down at will
    • Propelling Silver: Sakuya surrounds herself with knives, which act as a shield of sorts.
    • The sight of Distant Blade: Sakuya fires a knife that stops in midair, but resumes its movement after a couple of seconds.
  • Spell Cards
    • Silver Sign - Silver Bound: Sakuya fires many knives that bounce around the battlefield. Although weak, they're extremely hard to avoid.
    • Illusion Sign - Killer Doll: Sakuya surrounds herself with dozens of knives, which she then throws at the enemy simultaneously.
    • Time Sign - Perfect Square: Sakuya slows down time and throws several knives that stay still, but resume movement as soon as Sakuya removes the spell.
    • Buriallusion - Phantasmic Killer: Sakuya summons several dozens of knives, which home on the enemy from every possible direction half of which are fake.
    • Speed Sign - Luminous Richochet: Knife that reflects back and forth across the screen repeatedly.
    • Time Sign - Sakuya’s Special Stopwatch: Sakuya projects a magical circle. If a foe steps inside these fields, their movements will slow down. (like walking through treacle/honey)
    • Sakuya's World: Sakuya stops time for as long as she wants.

"Renko, stop! Don't let Demichev live!"
- Alternate Timeline Renko to Past Renko (literally his only line in the entire game)

Name: Nathaniel Renko

Age: Unknown, late twenties to mid thirties at least

Sex/Gender: Male

Series/Franchise: Singularity

History:
During the '50s, at the very start of the Cold War, it seemed that the Americans would always be the dominating power, thanks to their knowledge of the atomic energy. So, the USSR leader Joseph Stalin ordered his scientific staff to begin experimenting in that field. Then on a small island near Kamchatka, named Katorga-12, the scientists found the mysterious "Element 99" or E-99 for short, which, despite its inherent instability, was an incredible power source. The studies continued until 1955, when the island was all but destroyed by a mysterious incident. The government erased Katorga-12 from the maps and hid every piece of news about E-99.

In 2010, a sudden electromagnetic surge from Katorga-12 damages an American spy satellite. A military black ops team is sent on the presumably uninhabited island, but a second surge causes their helicopter to crash. Captain Nathaniel Renko, one of the two survivors, enters the abandoned scientific complex; he's then exposed to a strange energy wave, only to find himself in 1955.

While in 1955, Renko saves a man from a deadly fall, carrying him out of the burning complex. On his way from the building, a man shouts at Renko to stop and let him die, before he is crushed by debris. This scene turns out to later have a big effect on the game. A group of survivors refers to the man as "Demichev", just before Renko is abruptly returned to the year 2010. Renko discovers that the island has somewhat changed and encounters strange and violent creatures. He is forced to fight through a school and regroups with Devlin, the second survivor. Both soldiers are captured by Russian troopers. The Russian commander starts to ask them for a "TMD"; when Devlin declares that their actions are not legal, the Russian shoots him in the head.

Renko is saved by a woman named Kathryn. It is revealed that she works for an organization called MIR-12. MIR-12 revealed that two scientists helped study E-99. They were Viktor Barisov and Nikolai Demichev. Barisov was claimed dead due to a accident in a lab so only Demichev was left to work on the new found element. Barisov had created a machine called the Time Manipulation Device or the TMD. It was also revealed that MIR-12 discovered a journal saying that only one can save time and that person was Renko. Kathryn tells Renko to find the TMD and use it to go back in time and save Barisov. Renko succeeds and returns back to 2010 with Barisov.

Barisov and Renko plans to fix history by reversing the singularity with an E-99 bomb at an earlier time before the accident transformed most of the residents into mutants. Renko used the TMD to raise a ship called The Pearl for it had a E-99 bomb in its cargo bay. Renko recovers the bomb and returns to Barisov, who informs him that Kathryn was shot and killed while providing a distraction.

The bomb was missing its most important element (the E-99 core), so Renko has to carry it to the Cooker: the giant structure where in the past isotopes of E-99 were created. The 2010 Cooker is destroyed, so Renko had to travel to an earlier time to charge the bomb. Renko charged the bomb in 1955, overloading the Cooker systems: he returns to 2010 seconds before the Cooker exploded. He and Barisov fought into the heart of Katorga-12. Renko traveled back in time and destroyed the facility with the fully charged E-99 bomb. It is implied that this explosion triggered the destruction of the Singularity and mutated the island's population.

When Renko returned to 2010, he finds the facility still the same as if nothing happened. He finds Demichev holding Barisov hostage behind him. Demichev revealed that he rebuilt the facility after the bomb was detonated (presumably at another location). Renko shoots Demichev with a nonlethal shot, freeing Barisov in the process. Barisov figured out what was wrong, believing that the facility wasn't the problem. The real problem was Demichev. When Renko saved Demichev at the beginning of the game, he rewrote history. Demichev also revealed that while Renko was saving him from the fire, another Renko was there trying to prevent himself from saving Demichev's life. This was the man who yelled at Renko to let Demichev die before being crushed by debris. Demichev gave an offer to grant Renko unlimited power if he gives him the TMD. Barisov protests and tells Renko to go back in time using the Singularity to power the TMD, and kill himself to turn history back to normal.

Weapons:
  • Time Manipulation Device (TMD): An experimental E-99-powered device constructed in the 1950s by Dr Viktor Barisov. The device can manipulate an object's time state, aging it into disrepair and dust or reverting it into pristine condition. The TMD grants its user a variety of powerful abilities:
    • Ageing: Rapidly ages objects and living creatures, and can age enemies into dust. Can also revert the ageing process, restoring things such as health kit containers.
    • Reversion: Transforms enemy humans into highly aggressive blind mutants known as Reverts. Typically only useful as a distraction when fighting large groups of enemies. Ageing a Revert will cause it to charge towards the nearest target and explode.
    • Impulse: The TMD emits a short-ranged pulse of energy that knocks back enemies. Works as a melee attack.
    • Chronoping: Shows the user a path to the objective.
    • Deadlock: Creates a sphere of chrono energy that freezes all objects in the affected radius in time for a short duration. Anything that enters the field is also frozen. Renko himself is unaffected.
    • Gravity Manipulation: Allows the user a telekinesis-like ability. Can grab projectiles out of the air and launch them back. Does not work on organic material.
    • Time Rift: The TMD can be used to enlarge time rifts to travel through time, although it cannot create any.
  • Centurion: A heavy handgun that fires E-99 bullets. Low ammo storage, low fire rate, and low damage.
  • AR9 Valkyrie: Versatile assault rifle. Lethal combination of firepower, range, and accuracy.
  • Volk S4: Semi-automatic shotgun. Extremely effective at close range, ineffective at longer ranges.
  • Kasimov SNV-E99 Sniper Rifle: Semi-automatic sniper rifle. Features a time dilation mode that slows down time for the user and allows for the user to have superhuman reflexes.
  • Spikeshot: Railgun that fires an E-99 spike that sticks to targets and explodes seconds later.
  • Dethex Launcher: Grenade launcher that fires regular grenades and controllable explosive balls.
  • Autocannon: Gatling-type weapon with an extremely high fire rate and ammo capacity.
  • Seeker: Semi-automatic sniper rifle. This rifle fires E-99 charged shells that alter time and allow the operator to control the bullet.
  • RLS-7: Single-shot rocket launcher that fires high explosive guided rockets.
Are you OK with being betrayed, or killed off? (if you answer no, might as well leave.): Да.
