Fantasy Crimson Yin: Forbidden Love

Arwynn nodded weakly as Blake helped her up, cringing as the branch was disturbed by the movement. Raising her arm to cover her mouth from the smoke, she whistled for Shahe between coughs and looked around for the cat. She knew that the feline was tough, and was naturally a survivalist, but she couldn't help worrying for her companion as she limped after Blake.

"Not that way" she said to Blake , voice hoarse from the smoke, "we won't be able to outrun the flames in this condition if we head that way. There is a lake and river this way... we can escape the fire" she coughs some more as she motions towards the direction of the ruins. Holding her side, she makes her way towards the ruins, mindful of the falling trees and flames.

@Archdemon

-----------------

The creature biting Storm's ear only had enough time to raise it's blood-flecked face before it disappeared in the flames. Four out of the six creatures met the same fate, as the prince torched the ones on his back, the two surviving creatures leapt off to run back into the darkness.

teeth chatter in the dark as the creatures circle the caged dragon again, many of them sporting singed fur. It seems that they are more reluctant to attack this prey that fights back so fiercely... but they are patient, they know that all prey tires eventually.

After cowering from the flames, the ghost girl walks to Storm's side, "there's a group over to your right, but I think they are scared of you now..."

@eclipsehowls

"Good, maybe those abominations will stay away and go kill that dragon hunter instead," Storm said. "How did you end up down here in this place?" he asked the ghost girl as he twisted his head to try to keep watch over all the creatures circling the cage. He sends a jet of flame at the creatures to his right, hissing in satisfaction as some more catch on fire. @Juju

Blake nodded as he began following Arwynn out of the forest trying to keep up with her. Trees kept falling down all around them as the whole forest burned. He grabbed two clothes and put one over his mouth and nose to help prevent the smoke from entering his lungs anymore as he handed one to Arwynn. "These should help us breath and not die as quickly!" He kept along side her in case either of them fell and needed the other to get back up.

@Juju ((Best runaway from fire scene ever! [emoji4]))

Star Saw no or any sight of them,he Grin and would Give out a High Pitch screech befor Turning and start flying back,she had a Grin on her face as she muttrd herself "Let this be a lesson..."she said to herself as she flew back to the castle,as she did she saw Akata aswell...seems old akata made it atleast,Start would swoop down and land besides her,akata stop and look at her "What were you-"she is sudently cut off as she says "Shut up and get on!....Dad is not happy at all ya know?"with a sigh akata would curse mentaly as she would hop on star and soon shoot back up in the sky and begine to fly back towards the castle,as she did one of her comest would come from Under her scale as star said "Go tell dad im on my way and with akata"she Ordedrd as the insect would nod and would bgine to fly,it was Much faster than start meaning it would get there in no time.

@eclipsehowls

The little girl hugs herself at the question, "well it began when-... oh I don't really like talking about that... but how I got here I don't really know. I just woke up and starting walking into the tunnels... I just had a weird feeling to go deeper, well i guess that's what everyone else was doing so I just followed them. But then I heard a voice.. it was sweet it wasn't like the other ones.. it was like mum's...and I got lost." Out of habit she clutches the gold coin in her hand and brings it to her chest.

She raised her tiny fist in a punch as Storm hit another batch of the creatures, "yeah! You got 'em" she claps her hands excitedly "don't mess with a dragon you stupid furballs! Ha, i can't wait to see the looks on my friends' faces when I tell then I met a dragon! I bet they never saw one!"

She pauses as she looks at Storm timidly, not sure to be rude or not, "um, mister dragon... what is a dragon hunter?

@eclipsehowls

--------------

Arwynn nodded in appreciation as she took the cloth from Blake, "Thank you... I guess this will help, as long as we don't get crushed or burnt first."

Soon the two arrived at the ruins, the flaming trees behind them casting flickering shadows on the crumpled stone buildings. Oddly enough, the flames stopped spreading along the boundary where the stone structures and paths began, as if refusing to enter the site.

"told you I would get you to the ruins..." Arwynn said wearily , "now let's find some shelter..."

@Archdemon

(Lol yeah limping at the speed of light like a boss xD )

"Yes let us get to somewhere safe.... Hopefully soon before that wound gets infected." He started to limp alongside her. "Hopefully I can find the herbs I need and some herbs to use in helping our recovery speed cause without them we'll be here for awhile most likely a couple of weeks." His clothes were black from the soot and there was some dry blood from his injuries but he kept a happy smile to help try and cheer up Arwynn if she was feeling down.

@Juju

One of the slaves saw the bug and ran to find Jasper who was pacing the library and considering sending out both dragons and humans after his daughter as well as finding out information on the stupid wayward commanders. "My Lord," the slave said bowing as he entered the room.

"What?!"

The slave flinched at the shout and shifted nervously. "One of Star's children is back. It's outside the ballroom."

"About time," Jasper says and storms past the slave and goes to the ballroom where he lets the comet in. "Is Star alright?" he asks the comet.
@Yonsisac

Storm smacks his head on the top of the cage and hisses in pain. "A dragon hunter is a human who hunts and kills dragons. It's our bad luck that the Dragonbane family, a famous family of humans, is still alive. I don't know much about them other than that they feared by all dragons and the Dragon Sages. Dragon Sages are humans who serve the dragons willingly, believe we are gods and take care of us. For that they are ridiculed and often banished by their own kind so they live with us in Sage Village in the Crimson Kingdom which is where dragons live." @Juju

Arwynn slowly made her way to the remains of a building and leaned heavily on the doorframe as she looked inside, "here, this one is good... I used it the last time I set up traps in the ruins." brushing aside some hanging roots that had overgrown in the building, the huntress walked as smoothly as she could as she made her way to a stone block lying on the floor, and sat down with a sigh. "Oi you want me to take this out now or after you get your fancy plants" she said gruffly, motioning to the branch in her side.

Arwynn had decided to leave the branch in her side to act as a plug for the bleeding while they fled from the fire, and winced as the stick protruding from her side shifted as she sat. -besides- she thought bitterly to herself -the walk here will act as punishment for my failure to capture or kill both Akata and that other one...- however, the huntress knew that no punishment would equal the price of the damage inflicted by the three dragons; most of the forest lay in ashes or was still burning, thanks to the blue and shimmering dragon. Unfortunately, that was not even the worst part... Winter was coming.(sorry I had to ;D)

Daggerpeak village relied on the harvest of crops and livestock, as well as the game and wild plants to survive the winter. With the majority of the forest demolished, more wolves would prey on the dwindling farm animals, and the ash would undoubtedly choke the fish in the rivers- not to mention that some of the fields closer to the forest may have caught fire as well. Needless to say, Arwynn was quiet as she simmered in anger.

@Archdemon

The little girl looks up at Storm with surprise, "A human hunting and killing a dragon? I wouldn't think that could happen?! I-I mean you are so strong!" she frowns and angrily adds "so they are evil then?"

She twirls a lock of her hair as she tilts her head, "I've never heard of Dragon sages... Or a Crimson Kingdom... But those people sort of remind me of the Eternal.. uh no, ethereal Flame people? Well mum never wanted me to hear her talking about them with pa... But you live with these "Dragon sages" so they must be nice."

@eclipsehowls

Blake looked at her "Did I not say I would help you out? Let's take care of those wounds though I will warn you it will hurt like absolute hell." He limped to the side of her and began digging in his new bag after getting what he needed he began to gently pull the branch out, once it was out he put a rag to her side to stop the bleeding and took out a different rag and poured alcohol on it and placed it on her side "This is to prevent any infections from occurring." Once that was done he did whatever he needed to do and bandaged her up "All better! Though we will need to get those herbs to help your leg though and mine. Let's just recover for the moment and let the pain die down before we get them." He said as he took a seat next to her.

@Juju

"In my opinion they are," Storm says to the girl. "Humans drove us out of our lands and now our home is smaller than what it used to be as a result of the old war." @Juju

Arwynn grumbled at Blake, "yeah, yeah.. just get it over with." she never liked being a sitting duck, or relying on others' help for that matter. Fortunately for the huntress, pain and suffering was her profession, and as her beloved instructor would famously quote while holding a hot poker, "you must be prepared to endure every ounce of pain you inflict on another."

However, pain is still pain, and the huntress could not help but grimace in pain as she felt the clotted blood rip free as new blood began to ooze from the wound, and the burning of the alcohol. To deal with the pain, she thought of the dragons whom had caused the grief to her people and herself, and soon felt rising anger in her chest; drowning out the pain.

After Blake had bandaged her up, she rested her head on her hands as her anger dulled down slightly, and the stubborn pain returning. She glanced at Blake and gruffly said, "Thank you Blake." she turned her head away , although looking at him out of the corner of her eye and added, "You should worry more about yourself.. your leg looks a lot more beat up than you are letting on."

@Archdemon

--------------------

The girl nods in agreement as Storm confirms her view on dragonhunters, "Yeah! I think they're evil too! grr.. why would they do that!?" *gasp* that must be who p-..."

She stops as she processes the last part and with eyes wide, the girl looks up at Storm with disbelief, "um, you don't mean The Empire do you? Mister, b-but that is not possible... The Empire is big as... well I don't know, really big! And..." she looked up at Storm and wondered if he would get angry at her, but decides that he is nice enough and continues with an "oh you didn't know" whisper, "there inst a lot of people cities, that can... um do what they want... how could we push you out?"

"I don't know why they kill my kind," Storm says. "I know that they need their first dragon corpse in order to show they are worthy to be a dragon hunter and they lived in a place called Daggerpeak Village but that's all. We used to own a lot of what is now the Yin Republic but that was centuries ago. Now our territory is shrinking as the humans seek to end us from Xuvall." @Juju

Blake just smiled "I've felt worse pain than this, I'll survive!" He was using his happy tone to hide his inner most anger as he recalled the memories of his abusive family. He didn't trust this huntress yet but she does seem trustworthy at the very least he dug into his bag looking for something to help stabilize his leg some more.

@Juju

"oh that is horrible!?" her ghostly aura pulsates as she stomps her foot angrily, "but you are so nice... wait. There was a lady who came here, she set the trap! She was an evil dragon-killer,-i didn't know! Oh, im so sorry mister dragon, I wish I could let you out and help you!"

she sits down on a rocky ledge and fiddles with her coin as she calms down, "I think I forgot to ask you your name.. what is it?"

(I will survive, heeeyaaah –nananananaaanananaaaanaaaa- *ahem*)

There was something hidden beneath Blake’s cheerful tone, but the huntress knew that one’s past was their own, besides, most healers in her opinion lived cushy lives.Arwynn picked up her battered bow and tested the string by pulling back on it normally, satisfied that although chipped or scratched in some places and covered in soot, it worked well enough. She turned to Blake and stood up, "What do these herbs look like? I may have seen some the last time i was here, if you describe them to me."

She was eager to get up and walking again, despite the pain it may cause her, and was hoping to search for Shahe while they looked for the herbs.

Fur blackened and paws burnt, the mountainsaber named Shahe ran through the burning forest. The smoke stung the cat's eyes and filled his nose, making it hard to track the scent of his master, Arwynn. Twice he had lost the trail; the only thing that had saved it was the fresh blood that had brushed off onto the leaves along the path that the two had taken. Now that he was back on the trail, he broke out into a sprint, leaping over a falling log as he sped through the forest.

"I'm Storm," Storm said. "It's alright but maybe you should go off somewhere before that dragon hunter comes back." He wasn't sure if the ghost child would be scarred from watching him be killed like an animal but she had been nice and attempted to warn him about the weird creatures underneath the ruins, at least he assumed he was underneath the ruins. He could be in the ruins still. @Juju

Blake began to stabilize his leg even more and handed Arwynn a book. "The herbs I need are marked with book markers, make sure to get a lot! I'll stay here for a little bit to help stabilize my leg more. Once I'm done I'll come join you and also at the same time look for Shahe, that's what I believe you called him last I remember." He kept on bandaging his leg.

@Juju

(sorry for the late response :3)

Arwynn took the book and flipped through the marked pages, recognizing a couple of the designated herbs, before putting it in her bag. She slung her bow over her shoulder as she looked off into the ruins, half listening to Blake comment as she runs over in her mind the possible places her companion may have sought refuge. "Alright, I'll collect as much of the herbs as I can... whatever you do, don't get lost- its the last thing I need." she sighs before turning to look back at Blake " Yes, that is his name. I guess he seemed to like you, but still, keep your distance if you see him... animals can be dangerous if hurt, and I don't plan on feeding him yet."With that, the huntress turned on her heels and stalked off into the ruins.

Although a limp was still present in her stride, she felt like she could bear more weight on it than before, and grinned smugly -hey, i'll be better in no time! HA, it'll take more than that to take down Arwynn Dragonbane!- she thought to herself. Unfortunately, she confidently put too much weight onto her leg and stumbled on the path, waving her arms to regain her balance. Pain raked at her side and leg, causing her to cringe and hold onto her bandaged side, cursing. -idiot...- she snarled at herself.

she looked at one of the bookmarked pages "alright, first herb; Sunthistle.." As she walked, she looked around for Shahe, disappointing when every movement in the ruins turned out to be a bat or other critter. -he's tough, he's alright... i hope."

Flames cracked around the fallen mountainsaber as he lay on the dry earth. In his haste and impaired senses, the beast had tumbled down the steep slope leading to a stream, and was struggling to get up. Sides heaving, Shahe looked to the gurgling river just a couple paw-steps away, his green eyes hazy and stinging from the smoke. Lifting his head weakly to sniff the air, he gave a soft mew as he lost his master's scent yet again; the trail the two had taken now consumed in fire. The cat let his head fall back to the ground with a soft thump and fought to keep his eyes open.

@Archdemon

Blake stood up and his leg felt much better as he limped out of the place they were staying, Arwynn was a little ways off and so was the burning forest. Blake in his mind wondered if Shahe was still there..... He looked side to side and sighed "Alright..... Here we go." He grabbed two Clothes and stuffed one in his pocket as he limped down to the forest below. It was still a blazed but the rag made it much easier to breath and navigate. He made sure to remember where he came from and to retrace his steps once he found the cat. He stumbled and fell a couple times but got back up again "She saved my life when she could've abandoned me... It's time a returned the favor..." He saw water and figured that maybe Shahe would go there since it's a river with fresh water which might help him get energy but Blake wasn't an animal expert and so he was guessing but he saw the body of a large cat sitting close to the shore. He quickly limped over the poor thing and put the rag up to its mouth "Don't worry boy! This will help you breath, let's go to your master." He tried to get the cat up so that they can move.

@Juju

Shahe flinched as Blake put the cloth up to his muzzle, confused and stressed how his senses were all muddled. Growling, the cat opened his jaws to bite the hand, but recognized the man's scent at the last moment and purred questionably. Sniffing the cloth, he pressed his nose deeper into the fabric when he caught the fading scent of Arwynn's blood on Blake's hands from when he had bandaged her up. With this, the cat's strength seemed to return as he got up quickly, with the help of Blake, and growled softly in apprehension to be reunited with his master.

Nudging at Blake's hand, the cat stood by the man's side - ready to go. Although the beast's head was sagged and his fur singed, he looked up at Blake with hopeful eyes.

@Archdemon

Blake nodded "Come On buddy let's go." And with that Blake retraced his steps as he led Shahe towards where the ruins where. Burning trees fell around them but Blake was determined not to be stopped. Sooner or later they left the burning forest behind thanks to Blake's memory well he needs to have good memory to remember all the herbs he needs and to go back home. Blake had slowly be growing somewhat attached to Shahe and Arwynn. Once they left he removed the cloth and said "Just follow me and walk slow okay?" He walked beside the cat till they got to the building where he sat down "Alright buddy when your master returns I'll start patching us all up just wait here patiently okay? Hopefully she can get here soon with all the herbs I need." He waited for Arwynn to return.

@Juju ((Blake is now a forest ranger!))

After following Blake to the building, Shahe flopped down onto the stone floor and closed his eyes in a weary cat-nap. The great cat could smell his master's scent in the room, fresh and recent, and took comfort in the fact he had found her again.

-meanwhile-

"okay, ive got the sunleaf, pin-tree berries... some devil's root... and all I need is stranglevine... hmmph, stranglevine? that's a weed, why on earth would he need that? I really hope this guy knows what he's doing..." the huntress grumbled to herself as she walked towards the maze where the plant usually grew on it's walls.

Taking out her dagger, Arwynn cut off a thicket of the vines and placed them in her bag and looked at the ground with a raised eyebrow. In the middle of the maze were several individual tracks of footprints leading deeper into the maze, pretty fresh as well. Crouching down to get a better look at the dusty footprints, she identified what looked to be at least three females and three males... and a dog - no a young wolf perhaps? Then it dawned on the huntress, "wait a minute... the princess and her wolf pup... hmmm that guy was probably one of the male footprints too. grr...How dare they- she may be royalty, but when i find these people there is going to be hell to pay!" she growled as she stuffed the remaining strangleroot into her pack and began following the trails. Eventually, the trails separated; one male branching off, two females going another way and (the most bizarre) a female and a male both disappearing completely. "-the hell?" she muttered to herself.

Being a Dragonbane, she naturally had a suspicious hunch and investigated the rocks the male and female tracks had vanished on and hissed in anger. Gouged into the earth some way off the trail were the distinct claw marks of a dragon's back claws upon takeoff. "dragons... what were they doing near the princess?" hmm... now where did that other guy head off to..." Following Storm's trail, Arwynn found the upturned earth directly over one of the dragon traps she had placed down, "odd... these usually only go off for dragonkind...i've got to investigate..."

Turning back, the huntress walked back to the building with Shahe and Blake.

The girl turned her transparent eyes to Storm and shook her head, "No! i'm not going to leave you! what if the ratters get you? or a boneworm!? you need help so you can see them creeping up on you... like over there, a couple of ratters are sneaking at you now!" she said as she pointed at a group of the creatures whom had begun to investigate if the dragon had fatigued yet.

(I dont know if you are gone on that vacation yet or not, or if you can respond, but if you can't I can wait a bit before I send Arwynn down. Arwynn is going to head down to the cage as soon as Blake makes the medicine if everything is fine)

@eclipsehowls

(I leave at 7PM tonight EST @Juju)

"What are bone worms?" Storm asked in confusion. But at the mention of the name of the creatures, he looked up and quickly committed the name of the creatures to what they looked like. "They're ugly little things," he said with a snort, unaware of the dragon hunter having found his tracks and that he'd fallen into the cage. Storm snarled at the creatures and let out another jet of fire at them a warning not to come closer. @Juju

Nayome had followed Kai up to the air after sitting there for a while and were now flying away from the ruins. "Uncle are we going to follow the princess to her home?" Nayome asked. @Azula Cross

(oh wow, enjoy your trip!!! :D i'll wait until you get back for Arwynn to get to the cage! in the meantime she will spend time with blake and/or explore the caves :o )

the girl watched as the ratters shrieked and retreated from the flames, some catching fire and shedding light onto the others as it ran around in a panic, "ooh, nice shot!" she looked back at Storm, "oh, you don't want to see one of those. They are like worms, but with big sharp teeth in their mouths, and hard skin." she said while making her hands into mouth-puppets to enhance the description. "and" she added with a "as a matter of fact" tone, "They like to eat dead things... that's why they dig into graves and crypts - for the bones. Like the name -bone worms! Some are small... but the more they eat, the bigger they get!"

@eclipsehowls

-------

Arwynn stormed through the door frame of the building, growling to herself "I cannot believe they would just come back to the ruins! does the king not know his daughter is on the lose... and those dragon tracks..."

Once inside she dropped the bag full of herbs in front of Blake, "there, I got all the herbs you had bookmarked an-" she paused as she spotted the sleeping form of Shahe, surprised and relieved "Shahe?! your fur- are you alright my friend?" she got to her knees and held the cat's drowsy head between her hands and gently rubbed the soot from his face. Blinking his green eyes, the beast began to softly purr, and weakly licked Arwynn's hand.

The huntress looked back at Blake with a questioning look on her face, "how?... did you find him?"

(lol yeah Blake is now a ranger! and instead of Smoky the bear we have Shahe... "only you can prevent forest fires!" xD heheh)

@Archdemon

(Okay guys mom's not coming for 2 hours so I have time to respond. Thanks Juju.)

"Sounds more disgusting then these ratters," Storm said, keeping an eye on aforementioned creatures. "I don't know if I got your name before," he says to the girl. @Juju

Blake scratched the back of his head "Well...... I figured he would still be in the burning forest so I went back in.... I couldn't just leave him to die there after all you guys did for me? And the fact that you'd be torn up if you lost him and my good nature wouldn't allow that to happen." He smiled as he relaxed "He just needs to rest he's not injured or anything but with those herbs I can help mend our wounds and speed up our recovery time down to either a few days at least to a couple weeks at most instead of the normal waiting for a couple months for a leg to heal properly." He pulled out his book and started to make whatever remedy or medicine he needed to help speed the recovery of their wounds.
