Realistic or Modern Criminals in Apartment 317

Roommates. They can be your best friends, worst enemies, or something weirdly in between. At the start of August 2018 three rooms opened up in Apartment 317, a "charmingly" old four bedroom, four and a half bath loft in the classic Redstone Apartment building. Somehow you ended up finding the ad either on craigslist or through your realtor and decided it was the perfect fit for your current needs, whether that be long term or just a year long lease while you finish your last year of classes at the university. Given how spacious and moderate the rent is for a downtown loft, it's hard for anyone to pass up this deal.

After a speedy interview process with the charming landlord of the apartment, a small elderly lady by the name of Veronica Grey, you by the end of the week you were already moved in to your new home. The other rooms filled up just as fast, and the fourth room that wasn't up for lease you found out was already inhabited by a tenant named Delaney Stewart. She recently moved away, however, and has been letting an old friend sublet her room until he can take over the lease. In short, somehow, Apartment 317 was filled with new strangers all at once. Quickly August turned to September, and a mysterious gift was left for the apartment. Usually Ms.Grey sometimes bakes cookies, or makes too much lasagna and leaves food on the kitchen counter with her spare key, but this time a standard white envelope was slipped under the door. In it, a personal request from an anonymous sender to make a delivery on their behalf for a generous amount of money. Also in the envelope was an advanced payment of four hundred dollars. Ms.Grey left her own note demanding that if they shared the meal together for once she'd cover the water bill for the month, which coordinated that, whether they ate together or not, the four found the mysterious envelope and the money all at the same time.

Hi, I've been messing around with this idea for a while of roommates being wholesome and getting takeout for dinner together after a messy day in their own lives but then I also wanted to have it in a group setting as opposed to 1v1 and figured it would need more intrigue than slice of life. So there's the mystery aspect, the plot would follow four reluctant individuals given the option to complete shady deals and tasks for side money. It seems harmless at the start, until their actions begin to have obvious consequences. Looking for three to four other people, maybe five, depending on if there's any interest (the neighbors in the unit over could get involved if there's 4-5 people interested and have the other three as roommates) I would also really like if someone wanted to run this with me, since the thought of running this by myself is really daunting to me right now! There's a lot still up in the air, it might not come to fruition, but I did want to see if there was interest

I like this idea, having a roommates plot where we can also send them off on criminal "missions" would be sick. I'm in!
