Today was the day wasn't it? The day where she had to lead a team of five others. She had been out celebrating the night before and almost forgot about it. Good thing she didn't have to be there until 9 and it was about-- she looked at her clock and saw the little hand on seven and the big hand between 2 and 3-- 7:12. So, she plopped back down on something hard and heard a groan. This made her come back up with a confused look on her face. When she realized there was a man in her bed she rolled her eyes and rolled him off the bed. It made him wake up and look around, just as confused as she had been before.

"You weren't exactly supposed to sleep over, Tyler." She told him before getting up and putting in her over-sized Berkeley shirt. The man stammered as he tried to get his bearings.

"My name is-" she cut him off and started throwing him his clothes.

"As wonderful as I'm sure you're name is, it's time for you to go, Ty. I've got a big day." She was pushing him out of her place and once she finally got him out, she started to prepare her day. First by reading her email, in which she saw the mass email she made send at a scheduled time. What a great idea since she wouldn't have remembered to send it in the first place. She then started to finally get dressed and ready for her work day. It didn't take long, as she grabbed her bag and protein shake from the counter, before she was out the door and headed to her new office. It seemed like she was the first there and took that opportunity to set around copies of the case around the table of the meeting room for everyone. Once that was done, she went back to her office to check her email again, finding one from her ex-husband about some bills of the house they shared. She rolled her eyes and ignored it. He was truly pushing it these days but she wouldn't let it bother her; not today.

Dr. Dmitri Rush
Senior SSA / Technical Analyst
Dmitri was around early enough to get his bearings at his own pace, and certainly to check his email and get the computer arranged how he wanted it. This wasn’t really his first trip around although he couldn’t say that he actually knew that much about his teammates. Not any more than the base facts that they would all know about each other. It wouldn’t take long though he was sure. Hopefully it would be a more casual as they worked thing, rather than some forced get along with each other HR fiasco. The last several of those hadn’t gone well, although he was fairly sure that no one in the last team had any doubts left about how badly things went when Dmitri was denied his morning pot of coffee, or his evening one, or whatever other ones he decided he wanted.

By the time that he had gone through the area that was going to be his, their, work space for the foreseeable future when not out in the field, the first cup of black caffeine was gone. The suitcase that he had brought with him, the material a faded grey that suggested it had seen quite a few similar trips before, he left beside the desk marked as his. It was a little on the larger side, standing high enough that the secondary hard case for the instrument could sit inside, along with his laptop. It really was just easier to tuck it all away into the single item than try to arrange a set of smaller ones. Plus, it wasn’t like he needed that much room for clothing, most of the hotels had some kind of laundry and he had learned long ago that it really was better to get things that could be washed oneself.

He was in formal of course, or as formal as was required for a meeting like this. The black pants were pressed, as was the blue collared shirt. For now he left the black tie and black jacket on, at least until he had reason to take it off or had a better feel for how this team would be operating. It was a jacket that moved well enough at least, and it did a marvelous job with the side holster.

Eventually, he made it to the meeting room itself, and while it looked like their team leader had set things up, she was currently off in her office. Rather than bother her by making sound or inane conversation, Dmitri settled on looking over the files, and then considering the setup of the meeting room itself, the cup of coffee that might have been the second or third held lightly between his hands.

Waverly G. Princeton
Supervisory Special Agent
Last night, Waverly had stayed up late dancing and singing the night away using her Karaoke Machine. Most songs that she sang were Linkin Park songs, as she had wanted to honor Chester Bennington, the Band's Singer, who had passed away following a suicide. She had been a fan of Linkin Park since she was ten years old. So when Chester passed away, the young Law Enforcement Agent was very shaken up. She was heartbroken, confused. This whole week she had stayed up listening to Linkin Park albums all night long till two in the morning from the second she got home. She would listen to them while she cleaned up around the house or relaxing after dinner. Most of the time, she would do Karaoke and sing or dance as if she was doing a concert herself. Honestly, if it weren't for Law Enforcement, she'd probably be working in the Music Industry. Despite awakening at seven in the morning, Waverly didn't physically get out of bed until about 7:45. By 8:15 she was ready for work. She left the house by 8:20 and made her way to work by 8:45.

Good thing she dressed semi-formal. Just slacks and an Olive Green Dress Shirt tucked in. Still, sleeves were raised and she wasn't really in the best mood. underneath the dress shirt was a Linkin Park Band Shirt. Not to mention her nice watch and class ring. She dragged herself into the meeting room and was the third one there. She sat down quietly, with little to say. She wasn't the type to enjoy desk work, but preferred to be on the field, whether it was investigating or taking down suspects. She then greeted her colleague that was there. "Morning Doctor Rush..." She said half-heartedly, looking tired and a little sad at the same time.

SSA Gwen P. Lawlor, reporting for duty.
The most infuriating of sounds to wake up to, truly. A small, tinny beep resounded from an unknown place. Her alarm clock, surely, but the whereabouts were muddled.

At first she tried to sleep through it, having stayed up late the night prior desperately trying to revive a tube of her expensive acrylic paint, which, didn't work. It'd been left with the lid off for a week or so, and all of the 'lifehacks' in the world couldn't save that vermillion paint. Nevertheless she experimented to no avail, but slowly found herself stuck in a hole of Pinterest tips and tricks. Not her best moment.

Begrudgingly, she swung her legs over the side of the bed and groaned at the cold wood. Her A/C was either working way too well, or the seasons have changed. Either way, she didn't like it.

Standing with a shiver, the agent resisted the urge to tear up the room looking for this incessant noise box. Instead, she isolated the noise to near her dresser, and, fairly enough, the small little clock had been thrown vicariously behind the furniture. Oddly placed, truly, yet now she knew where it was she could finally shut it up. While doing so, the time read 7:34 am, to which she sighed. No more sleep for her.

The agent trudged out of her bedroom and into the kitchen, flicking on the news and grabbing her phone from the countertop. Quickly checking her messages, she read the mass email and set to work getting herself and her go-bag ready.

Thirty minutes later at around 8:06, she was simply dressed in a white button down shirt with a plain black sweater vest overtop, and a fiery red pencil skirt paired with a chunky white business heel. With that, she quickly threw her up into a high ponytail, long, bouncing, caramel colored curls held tight with a scrunchie. Fiddling with her bangs a little bit, she brushed them to the side and grabbed her go bag, a small black duffel that fit comfortably on her shoulder. Turning the tv off, she pocketed her phone and snatched her satchel off the counter, heading out the door.

She got there at around 8:50, confused mildly but not clueless about the layout. She'd been in here a couple of times because they always have those little keurig cups and they were just so convenient. So, naturally, she borrowed one from time to time, and knew the general area.

Heading up to what she guessed was the meeting room, she let out a sigh in relief when her guess was right. Picking a random seat, she set her go-bag down and immediately started on the case file. But, not before she awkwardly greeted the other two agents already at the table.

Deciding that being in her office was long enough, she made her way to the meeting room to find three of her team members there. She glanced up at the clock, seeing it was 9:15, and scowled. The email specifically said 9:00 sharp. If there was anything she hated it was when people were late to something important. Taking her place at the head of the table she smiled at everyone.

"Good morning team. I'm Nadine Hall, your Unit Chief. I know the other half of the team isn't here yet, but we can't wait for them. People's lives are at stake. You'll have time to get acquainted with each other later." She was getting right to business and could only hope her team understood why at the moment. Grabbing the remote, she turned on the screen and started talking about the case.

"Baltimore PD has asked for our help on a case they believe is going to get worse. The three women killed were both big advocates in the community and their deaths hit kind of hard. Now, the press is already all over this like moths to a flame but the one thing they don't know is the message that was left." She then clicked a button so that an audio clip played. The voice was hidden and sounded like your typical creep. 'I had to do it. There was no loyalty.' It sent chills up her spine just listening to it, but she wouldn't show her team that. When the clip was over, she turned to her team before taking her seat.

"I'm sure you guys had time to look over the case file. Any thoughts?"

Dmitri had given a faint nod to both of the agents who arrived, his greeting audible enough although his focus quickly turned back to the case file, and a notepad that had appeared at some point beside him. Nothing too interesting was written on it, just little key details about the case with spiderwebbed designs crossing back and forth.

At the entrance of their unit chief he looked up, hands neatly folding in his lap. If there was a faint easing of his shoulders that she was going to get right to business then it probably went unnoticed. The slight tilt of his gaze as it ghosted over the other seats was more notable although whatever thoughts or emotions ran through his mind weren’t revealed.

Instead he turned back to the unit chief, sitting forward so that he could place his elbows on the table, fingers laced together in front of his chin. He had plenty of thoughts about the file that they had been presented with, a few of those floating closer to the surface rather unkind remarks about how sparse the information was. Those he would keep to himself for now, playing nicely with others. Plus, it was distinctly possible that a lot of the details just weren’t there, or were dismissed as unimportant or common knowledge by the locals. “If possible before we leave, can we request that Baltimore PD prepare a file with the addresses of the three homes? As well as their places of employ. Coroner’s reports would also be useful.” Really, anything that could be handed over would be beneficial although the places that they preferred to frequent would probably have to wait until they talked to the family and friends. The phone records likewise were probably better acquired in person.
