Since childhood Brooke has always been a bubbly, confident and charismatic girl. The type of girl to make friends everywhere she goes due to her outgoing and carefree personality.

Brooke comes across as extremely naive and gullible and to be honest, she is. She's too trusting for her own good which has led to her getting hurt in the past but she never seems to learn, wanting to see the good in the world. Her naivety also draws from her spontaneous nature, wherein Brooke doesn't really take time to think things through she just jumps in headfirst failing to recognize any consequences.

What she makes up for intellectual intelligence, she appears to miss in common sense and has been described as "the dumbest smart person (insert) has ever met". It is as though sometimes the words fall out before her brain has time to comprehend her thoughts, leaving even her stunned by things she has said out loud. She is extremely honest and doesn't appear to have a filter, saying things how they are.

Brooke is always up for a good time. She is the girl that you know you can call at 4am and she will come on an adventure with you or to a party. She is extremely brave and doesn't appear to hold any fear which tends to drive her reckless tendencies. She is a thrill-seeker and enjoys doing something rather than sitting still.

She's a hopeless romantic and wears her heart on her sleeve. While she tries to hide when she's feeling emotional it doesn't always work and she can get snappy or cry without warning and seemingly out of nowhere.

Early Life

Brooke had a pretty standard life growing up, two doting parents (be it they did work alot but they were there when it really mattered), a nice home, and anything she could ever wish for. Brooke comes from money, however, she doesn't like to show this off and most people would not know that she is rich instead she says she's "comfortable". The Williams have always had a lax parenting style in terms of the tend to see Brooke as more of a friend than a daughter, never really setting rules and believing that everyone learns through making their own mistakes. She has been allowed to stay home alone since the age of 8, however, with the long hours her parents tend to work, this can be very lonely and so she always offered her house as the meet-up spot.

Her relationship with Jake

Brooke and Jake started dating final year of school, "a will they won't they" relationship that finally happened when he asked her out to senior prom. It started off great, naturally falling from the role of friendship to relationship and things just felt right. Brooke moved with her friends upstate to College, a bond still as strong as the day they met and Brooke was delighted to be sharing this new chapter with them. It wasn't long into going to college that things began to take a nosedive, while Brooke enjoyed the parties and getting high and drunk and the other newfound freedom the group finally received. Jake seemed to be going down hill, living together in the small one bedroom apartment seemed to begin taking a toll on the couple as the once loving relationship seemed to turn into constant fighting and bickering behind closed doors. Jake developed addiction problems that he hid from everyone including Brooke. It was when she came home early after a cancelled class and caught him doing heroin that everything became clear to her. Things only seemed to get worse from there, Jake begged her not to tell anyone about his problems promising to get better and in her naivety she believed him and kept the secret. Jake's constant mood swings took a toll on Brooke and she finally realised he had no intentions of getting better. She planned to tell the group and stage an intervention but the night before the planned meeting, Jake died and Brooke found him lifeless on the sitting room floor.

  Minho has always been someone bold, full of life and energy. He enjoys nothing more than pushing all the boundaries (even if it means getting him into trouble from time to time) and discovering and using new things and ideas. Combining his boldness with practically, he is also very original. He loves to experiment with new ideas and solutions, and will put things together in ways that others may not have thought to do so.
  
  When speaking with others, he is one to be direct and communicate quite clearly. Like pushing boundaries, being direct and factual has often landed him in hot water as he rather says things are how and what they are rather than sugar-coating it.
  
  However, due to his boldness and being so direct, Minho can be quiet insensitive. If he’s not careful, he tends to get too caught up in the moment, take things too far and cause hurt to more sensitive people without realising (also, forgets to take care of his health and safety). Feelings and emotions come second to facts and “reality”, and he finds emotionally charged situations awkward and uncomfortable. Not only that, he struggles with opening up and expressing his own feelings and troubles. Rather than letting speaking to someone how something might be troubling him, he would rather push it deep down and just ignore it. Something which he really shouldn’t do considering one of his seizure triggers is stress.
  
  Minho likes to move at his own pace to keep himself active and excited, and to continue pushing down anything that might be causing any emotional distress. Because of this, he can be rather impatient. Slowing down because someone else “doesn’t get it” or having to stay focused on a small, single detail for way too long is extremely challenging for him. This also makes school and anything else with highly organized environments an extreme challenge to him. Not because he isn’t smart, or that he can’t do well, but because he requires hands-on learning to actually enjoy what he is learning.
  
  Additionally, repetition, hardline rules, sitting quietly – also all things that he hates. Minho is very defiant and hates to be boxed in. He’s highly action-oriented and hand-on, and finds certain work to be tedious and therefore, making him intolerable as it requires extraordinary effort for him to stay focused long enough. Sadly, this also makes him risk-prone as his impatience leads him to push into uncharted territory without thinking of any of the long-term consequences. He’s willing to enter into extra risk just to intentionally combat boredom in his life. He wants to live in the moment and dive straight into the action – into the eye of the storm – because it’s just so stimulating to his logical mind. Anyways – rules were made to be broken.
  
  Finally, he has a knack for being socialable and using his social interactions and networking opportunities. He doesn’t actively seek people or to be a group leader, it tends to just fall right into his lap. Minho always has an impact in his surroundings, and the best way to spot him in a party is to look for someone who is always seeking to entertain and make others laugh with his blunt and earthly humour. He’s “that person” who would involuntarily volunteer himself (or a shy friend) to be an active audience member to come up on stage to help the performer.

  Minho had no idea who his father was. Well, neither did his mother. At fifteen years old, and after twelve hours of labour, Lisa Kang gave birth to her son. She had no clue what she was doing. Her parents had banished her after discovering she was pregnant, and there had been a selection of different men that could have been the father – something she was not proud to admit to. She had gotten drunk at a high school party over one weekend, and when she woke up in the morning, she was naked in bed by herself. There were multiple people at that party that she could have slept with – and yet no one was coming forward.
  
  So, she was all alone. Newly homeless and with a newborn. She named her son after her late brother, Minho, and decided it was time to start acting like an ‘adult’. She tried her hardest to provide for her son by working long hours, leaving him with a babysitter just weeks after he was born. She loved him with all her heart and was determined to make things work. However, she was one to push her emotions down, and over the years, it was getting harder to pretend that everything was ok.
  
  She had dreams of going to college to become a doctor, getting married and having more children with the man of her dreams. Sadly, everything shattered before her. The man she was head over heels in love with left her for another woman, she was rejected by every university she applied to, she lost her job, and they were given an eviction notice.
  
  Late one night, when Minho was six, Lisa awoke her son and asked him if he wanted to go to the beach. She knew how much he loved going there and was always pining to go. Without hesitation, he jumped up and out of bed and began to excitedly race around the small apartment to find his beach toys. Once they were at the beach, Lisa sat down with Minho and watched him as he began to create a sandcastle. It was pitch black, and the sounds of the ocean waves thrashed and roared, echoing in her ears. She looked over at Minho and told him how much she loved him. Her son responded with a toothy grin and an “I know – I love you too!”
  
  Thank God for the darkness. Silent tears rolled down her cheeks as she leaned over and placed a final kiss upon her son’s head and embraced him. She told him to stay there and create sandcastles – and that she would be right back. Oblivious to it all, Minho nodded and went back to his sandcastle-making. That was the last time he saw his mother. Slowly, her figure was wrapped up in the darkness as she began to walk towards the water and eventually, the water consumed her, welcoming her to her death.
  
  Minho had been focusing so hard on his sandcastles and struggling to see through the darkness that he didn’t even realise that his mother had been gone for hours. It was only when his stomach began to rumble and the sun began to kiss the now-calm tides that he realised that something was wrong. He began to search the beach, now that there was light emerging, calling out his mother’s name. An elderly couple who were taking their dog out for a sunrise walk on the beach heard Minho calling out nearby and approached the sobbing boy. He explained to them how he was making sandcastles, and his mother said she would be right back – but that was hours ago.
  
  Within the space of a week, Minho found himself being questioned by policemen and then placed into the care of the foster system. His mother’s body was still being searched for, much to his confusion (because he was convinced that she was just going for a walk and would return to the spot she told him to stay). Within a month, the search party for the body was called off, and Lisa Kang was presumed dead. There was no funeral for his mother, which led Minho to believe that she was still out there and alive.
  
  Just before his seventh birthday, he was told that they had a foster family for him. It meant that he would have a new Mum and Dad. But he didn’t want a new one. He wanted his mother. So, every night, Minho snuck out of the house and made his way back to the beach. He would sit there and wait for his mother to return to him. Over the weeks, his foster family began to add more locks and security systems to the house to try and stop the boy from escaping. But, surprisingly, Minho managed to make his way through them all. And because of that very reason, his foster family declared they could no longer care for him.
  
  Over the years, Minho was in and out of various foster families. But he always returned to the foster system house. Families saw him as a risk due to his inability to handle his emotions (often leading him to fits of rage), and struggled to ensure that he wouldn’t sneak out in the middle of the night to head down to the beach. It wasn’t until he was ten years old that he actually met a family that actually fought for him.

  He had finally settled down with an old couple, Mrs and Mr Reiner, who had shown him nothing but respect. They did not attempt to keep him boarded up during the night and would often ask him if he wanted to go for a car ride down to the beach. They allowed him to do the things that he wanted to do (things that he was sneaking out for in the other homes), but with the condition that they went with him to ensure he was safe and sound. When he was diagnosed with epilepsy, they made sure that he was cared for and were the ones to push the doctors to ensure that he was getting all the medical attention that they could.
  
  For once, he was actually happy with his foster family and began to see them as his own.
  
  Sadly, Mr Reiner suffered a heart attack and passed away. Months later, Mrs Reiner was diagnosed with breast cancer. Because of the terms and conditions of the fostering agency, Minho was to be put back into the foster system at the age of fifteen. And his new foster family? Well…
  
  They were very strong Christian Scientists, which meant they avoided medical care. Therefore, instead of bringing Minho to his therapy appointments and giving him his epilepsy medication, they decided that the best replacement was prayer. Instead of these appointments, Minho would have to sit through half an hour of this new family praying for him each night. They had strict rules within the household, and it felt like nothing he did was right. Even when he had seizures, the family would do nothing to help or aid him but would rather just sit there praying for ‘the demon to be released’ from him. At night he would try to escape to go to the beach as per usual. However, his new family soon decided to bolt his window shut and lock his bedroom door every night. They had security cameras and had even placed a tracking device on his phone. There was no way of him being and feeling free.
  
  School was his only escape from this crazy family. However, with the lack of medication and therapy, Minho was finding himself stressed out during classes, which led to absence seizures, which then led him to begin to fail a decent number of classes.
  
  One afternoon, Minho was walking home from the shops when he ended up having a tonic seizure out the front of someone’s house. Thankfully, it had been the garden of his English teacher’s house, Mrs Woods. She rushed out as soon as she saw him on her lawn and hushed him through it all. She invited him into her house afterwards for a glass of water and to take some time to breathe. It was during this time that he explained to her how he had epilepsy and his ‘parents’ weren’t letting him take his medicine. She said that she noticed how he was failing some of his classes (hers also) and suggested to him that maybe she could tutor him. Mrs Wood insisted that she would talk to his parents and that she would tutor him after school in her classroom. He agreed, and within a couple of days, she began to tutor him.
  
  At first, everything was going so smoothly. His grade was starting to go up ever so slightly, and he and Mrs Woods began to grow a teacher and student friendship. Some of the other students would make comments about how he was ‘screwing the teacher for good grades’, spreading them around the school. However, it was debunked when Mrs Woods added a couple more students that needed to be tutored into their group. After two months, Mrs Woods mentioned to Minho that she needed to grade papers that night at home; that he was welcome to come to her place to study, and that she could help him out also. He saw no harm in it.
  
  But he should’ve.
  
  She offered him alcohol (which he had never tried before, so decided sure why not) and tried to seduce him. She told him that if he didn’t sleep with her, she would fail his classes. If he did, then she would give him a top mark and talk to the other teachers about giving him a top mark, also. He didn’t want to do it. But he also knew that if he wanted to get into a good university, he was going to have to start improving his grades. And with the lack of concentration without his medication, it was a struggle. So, reluctantly, he agreed and lost his virginity to Mrs Woods. He had wished that it would be the first and last time it would happen. But over the weeks, she continued to make the threat to him. And, well, the other students at school were talking behind his back. Might as well live up to what they were talking about, right?
  
  School was no longer his escape afterwards.
  
  He was anxious every time he rocked up to school. He tried to avoid his friends, feeling a wave of guilt and fear. He would make up excuses to them that he had to be somewhere or something all so they wouldn’t ask any questions even if it wasn’t on his mind. Then there was a week where every day he had a class with Mrs Woods, he could feel an onset of a tonic seizure. It was becoming so physically draining to attend school with the immense fear of having seizures from being so stressed out. So, he just decided to skip school. Instead, he would take the bus and venture into the town or go and spend the day at the beach. He began to attend parties of people he didn’t even know and sleep at their house to avoid going back to his foster family.
  
  At the age of eighteen, he was finally on his own. No more foster families. It meant he finally had three years left before his medical coverage was up; three years to continue combating his epilepsy

  As soon as he was eighteen, he began to seek help from the hospitals regarding his epilepsy. They wanted to put him on medication, but his coverage would only cover a certain amount. This meant he had to get a job. So, he was homeless – jumping from house to house – and seeking a job. Stressful, right? Most of the jobs he applied for refused him due to his epilepsy and how he wasn’t allowed to drive a car (which, looking back at it now, he could’ve sued so many companies for it). Not to mention, God was finally on his side, and he somehow had managed to score a scholarship for college. Not only that but the same college that all of his friends were attending.
  
  Minho found the perfect job as a soccer coach for private after-school teams through a company called Junior Goals, teaching young children how to play the game properly. It seemed to fit in perfectly with his school and appointment schedules also. While most of his friends were out partying, Minho had found himself spending most of his spare time practising mindfulness - something that was suggested by his doctors - through meditation and fitness. He was starting to get his seizures under control thanks to the aid of his healthy lifestyle and medication.
  
  However, in the recent year, his therapy sessions when things started to get rough.
  
  They were exploring his childhood traumas - his fear of abandonment - when his doctor questioned him about high school. Minho simply stated that towards the end of his schooling in high school, he would often skip school or avoid going altogether. His doctor asked him why he skipped, and filled with guilt and embarrassment, Minho simply lied. Told him that his friends made him do it. But from those few moments of questioning his high school life, Minho found himself having night terrors. The night terrors led to irregular sleeping patterns and then to stress. Which brought him back to a full circle of increased seizures once more.
  
  Having to take time off work due to the increase in these seizures, Minho was struggling with cash. It was at this point that his dear friend, Jake, had suggested opening up an OnlyFans account. Of course, Jake had said as he helped to set up the account with him, You don’t have to post nudes. Just some… you know, flirty pictures. Topless too. Girls get horny on the thought of sex, not watching it. Somehow… Jake made a good point. After uploading a couple of selfies - nothing too flirty or sexual - he was beginning to gather a following. So, while he was able to pay for his rent and bills, he was struggling to overcome this emotional struggle with his therapist.
  
  Which… resulted in him just simply avoiding therapy altogether.
  
  In hindsight, it wasn’t the best move at all. The nightmares and terrors were still coming, and the stress and anxiety of hiding this disgusting secret to himself was enough to continue triggering these seizure episodes regardless how much he meditated and worked out. Then, one night, he was over at Jake’s apartment. The pair of them were about to go and meet up with Brooke and other friends for something to eat and drink when Minho started to experience a tonic seizure. Having been a witness to many of Minho’s seizures over the years, Jake began to calmly follow the routine they had in place.
  
  Now, every now and then, Minho was prone to having wet accidents while having a seizure. It had been so long since his last accident that he was completely unprepared for when it did happen this time around. And while Jake searched his apartment for some spare clothes that he could wear, Minho’s walls began to fall. He became a sobering, blubbering mess; the first time he had ever cried in front of another person. From there, after getting changed, Jake consoled his friend, and that’s when Minho let everything spill. He told Jake about high school, Mrs Woods, and how everything was just his fault.
  
  And Jake didn’t judge him.
  He didn’t run away.
  He didn’t leave Minho.
  He stayed.
  He talked things out with him.
  He embraced him like a brother.
  
  It was their little secret, Jake declared to him, hooking his pinky to establish trust between the pair. He told him that he was there to help him and he would never leave his side.
  
  
  But Jake lied.
  The truth was, Jake was going to leave.
  A week later, he was dead.

  DISCUSSION ON EPILEPSY / SEIZURES
  PHYSICAL AILMENTS: EPILEPSY​

  
  At the age of fourteen, Minho was diagnosed with epilepsy. His teachers had noted that he had been ‘zoning out’ and ‘daydreaming’ a lot during classes, but had been tossing it up to the fact that Minho enjoyed being the ‘class clown’ or skipping class. However, one day during sports lesson, he had his first tonic seizure while running laps on the soccer field; His body stiffened as he fell to the ground, unconscious. Luckily, his teacher had been close by and was with him throughout the whole experience. The only way he could describe it to others was this intense burning radiating through his body and as he came back to consciousness, it felt as if he had just run a marathon. His body ached, he was gasping for air, and he felt like he was going to vomit everywhere.
  
  He went to the hospital, did some tests, and then went home. Nothing was diagnosed nor did they confirm anything. A week later, while Minho was watching television with his foster family late at night, he experienced another tonic seizure. Back to the hospital they went where Minho was admitted for a couple of days for testing. After having another three seizures during his time there, the doctors finally diagnosed him with generalized epilepsy, having shown signs of tonic (muscle stiffness and rigidity), atonic (sudden loss of muscle tone) and absence (a brief loss of consciousness; looks like ‘daydreaming’) seizures.
  
  Throughout the years, Minho has tried various medications and methods to try and keep his epilepsy at bay. At the moment, he is taking medication twice a day, along with a Keto diet and exercising. It seems to be working as it has limited his seizures to once a fortnight or even month – as opposed to the three or four seizures he was having each fortnight while in high school.
  
  He has also been able to pick up on triggers which have been known to set off some of his seizures. Some of these triggers being missing his medication, stress and anxiety (feeling ‘overwhelmed’), lack of sleep, exhaustion, dehydration, and drinking alcohol (he can have one or two glasses, but it’s when he has a hangover that causes the seizures).

  Being alone, bad drivers (especially because he’s not allowed to drive), hospitals, people with bad breath, when someone makes assumptions of what people with epilepsy look/act like, when all the lights are off in the house, having plans cancelled at the last minute, that pause for a sneeze that is about to come out but doesn’t, bad tastes in the back of his mouth (sometimes means a seizure is about to start), and well, sometimes he misses eating normal food and not being stuck on a diet.

  Throughout his whole life, Minho has had three fears. Abandonment, his intelligence, and the fear of death.
  
  He fears people abandoning him like his mother had done when he was six years old. However, due to this fear, he has often struggles to open up and speak his truth to others While he has a good group of friends, but his fear of abandonment is so intense and prominent that he tends to push people away instead of letting them in.
  
  Prior to his diagnosis, Minho was always scared that he was cognitively impaired and that there was something wrong with his brain. He would have chunks of his days where he just didn’t remember things, especially in class. His teachers would always say that he was doing it on purpose by day dreaming or acting silly, but it was quite involuntary and he struggled to pay attention in class. For that reason, he was often seen as a ‘dumb kid’ by the other smarter children who just assumed he was acting as a class clown to drag others down with him.
  
  Finally, ever since his diagnosis and his first tonic seizure, he has been deadly afraid that one day he will be killed from his seizures. That there will be a day when he has a seizure while he’s alone, hits his head, and that will be it - game over.

  Minho likes to think that he is quite talented with soccer. However, due to his epilepsy and his competitive nature, he tends to overdo it when playing in competitions and exhausts himself. The reason being why he has never trialled out for any professional teams. However, he does have a rather weird talent of being able to spin his pen in his fingers (also known as ‘extreme pen spinning’), and has been doing so since he was in high school.

  Throughout his life, Minho has been attending child therapists to learn to deal with the trauma of his mother abandoning him at such a young age. In his teenage years, he began to skip his appointments as he feared he was growing too attached to the doctors that were helping him. Over the years, and after being diagnosed with epilepsy, his anxiety and depression just continued to grow. However, he would keep it pushed down, which would result in sudden outbursts of rage and emotions (primarily directed towards his foster families). High school really didn’t help, and the stress of teachers (one teacher in particular) was causing more seizures.
  
  It wasn’t until he was twenty years old that he decided to return back to a doctor to help with his mental health. Slowly but surely, his doctors began to make him realise that the extreme stress of living with a chronic health condition was causing depression and anxiety to rule his life. Not only that, but that depression can also increase the risk of seizure activity.
  
  Along with his exercise and diet, Minho has been taking daily medication and seeing a specialist once a fortnight to keep on top of things. It has been a struggle to try and let his emotions out, but he’s slowly and surely making an effort.

Tiger grown up with just his father who lived a very, very moderate life. Tiger had always been focused on what he didn't have instead of what he did have, he was focused on getting more than his boring life and alcoholic dad. Him and his friends always got a long very well but his nature of deceiving started in primary school and eventually gradually got more in high school. Tiger cheated on every test and spend his time doing dirty work to make money, he hated this and soon started just taking the cash straight out the register. No one ever found out and this was like an answer from above for him, he could actually get away with it.
Tiger was never really book smart but he knew people and he could predict what they were thinking, he was good at playing people and that's how he probably ended up where he is now. It was always easy for him to put his morals aside to gain some.

Tiger was a tough child, he was the youngest one and his older brother, Peter, turned out to be an army guy. His father was always very proud of him and he was often looked down upon. His father wasn't there a lot and worked as a mechanic, he was away all day and when he came home he always drank the same glass of whiskey and smoked the same Cuban cigars.
He wanted the boys to do good in school, get a job and a family but Tiger wanted the opposite of a normal life. He wanted to be rich, filfthy rich and not worry about a dime. His dad put him in the army when he was seventeen after he got in a car accident after a DUI but eventually got kicked out of there after six months due to a drug-related accident. A fun one, at last.

Tiger got fired from several jobs after he graduated high school just barely until he started door-to-door selling and eventually got offered a different job. It was a pharmaceutical company that sold placebo-medication to elderly people. This job was made by satan himself but Tiger didn't have many choices and wanted to make money fast, this he did and in a year the company skyrocketed.

Tiger started drinking once he got the job, first it started off to celebrate, then it turned into having to get through this day and now even the weekends are filled. this new job has brought him money but it hadn't brought him the happiness that he was searching for. Him and Jake kind of grew apart after an incident around money, it was hard to recall what even had happened between the two but it got ugly and most of their friends were the dupe of it. Not just that but two months later Tiger got the news about Jake and he had to see not only his best friend in a casket but face his family and friends yet again.

    Juno was born in Zhengzhou, China, to a poor family who already had many children. Due to the one-child policy in China at the time, they were already suffering from fines and punishment due to their multiple offspring so, to avoid greater fines, abandoned Juno. She was found wrapped in blankets to keep her warm after her cries were heard from an alley behind a restaurant. Due to the way she was found, it was believed her biological parents wanted her to be found alive and well. She was taken to an orphanage where she was quickly adopted by an American couple, Christopher and Aubrey Belrose, through a China Adoption Program.
    
    Juno was raised alongside the couple's biological children. She had three older brothers, Marcus, Lars and Lucas, who were all under 10 years old when she was adopted. Knowing them since her birth, Juno got on well with them, though the eldest, Lucas, was initially sceptical of having a new baby sister. What if she didn't want to play the same games he and his brothers did? However, Juno tried her best to keep up with them. She loved playing in the mud, investigating bugs in their garden, getting covered in paint... and their parents didn't seem to mind when they made a mess, as long as it stayed outside. Her father was a landscaper and was passionate about plants, and Juno enjoyed "helping" him, though when she was young, she was more likely hindering his progress.
    
    She was well-liked in elementary school and had a close-knit group of friends. She'd spend break times on the playground finding bugs and showing them to her friends, giggling when they squealed over how gross they were. Juno didn't think they were gross, she found them beautiful.
    
    However, when she was 11, her parents separated and she could only see her father on weekends. The couple had hidden their marital problems from their children well so their divorce was a shock to all four of the, but within the year, their mother had a new partner. Though he was kind at first, spending his paychecks on toys and takeouts and days out for him, his partner and her children. This seemed to be his way of gaining their trust.
    
    Soon, Aubrey had no access to her bank account. Everything she wanted to buy went through her new partner. He began to find her children annoying. They were all loud and outgoing, they liked to play messily and wrestle. He began to punish them for playing until they were too afraid to do so. Juno went from a loud, bubbly young girl to being afraid of making the smallest sounds. Initially, he would only yell, but soon he became physical with the children.
    
    When Juno was in her mid-teens, his abuse became sexual towards her. Her eldest brother, Lucas, had already moved out and Lars was soon to follow. Marcus had begun abusing drugs to cope with living with his mother and her partner. Juno felt alone, unsure of how to deal with her trauma without professional guidance. Her change in personality was obvious to her friends who had known her before her new stepfather had come into her life, they knew something was wrong.
    
    At 16, Juno packed a backpack and left. She knew where her eldest brother lived and, though he invited her and her brothers to visit whenever they wanted, he knew taking them with him could cause problems. If their mother chose to report them missing, he could get in legal trouble for housing them. However, Juno was willing to take responsibility for her own actions if she was found. She took the bus that got her closest to his home and walked the rest of the way. Though Lucas was initially anxious about harbouring his younger sister, he let her stay. Her step-father never pressed charges, instead spinning a story that she had stolen his money to buy drugs and had gone to live with her older brother who was just as bad as her. In reality, he knew if he contacted the authorities and tried to get his stepdaughter back, she could reveal what he had done to her and her siblings.
    
    Despite her upbringing, Juno was intelligent and well-read. She did well in school, she took an optional Mandarin course and excelled in exams and written work. However, her favourite was biology. She loved animals, she had since she was a child, and that included almost all animals. She loved insects, spiders, snakes, rodents, pests... If she could adopt an opossum, she would. She found an Animal Science course and applied. The college was far away from her brothers which filled her with anxiety, but she knew she couldn't live with Lucas forever.
    
    Once she began her studies, she initially struggled to make friends. She was quiet and closed off, nervous about speaking to people she didn't know. What if they found out about her past? What if they believed what her father said about her? She felt weird, each time another student moved too quickly, she'd flinch. Some of them found this funny and would make her jump as a joke. She hated it and spent her lectures fidgeting anxiously. She'd pick at her fingernails, rub her hands and fiddle with her sleeves, trying her best to focus on what the lecturer was saying. She felt lucky to still have her friend group, spending as much time with them as she could outside of lectures. However, despite knowing them for almost her whole life, they had no idea what had caused her to change when she was 11.
    
    During a lecture, Juno had to step out to take a phone call from her mother, begging her to return home. All of her children had left home, she was now alone with her partner. Without her children to distract him, he was now focusing his abuse on her. Initially, her pleas were genuine, but when Juno refused to come home or tell her where she was, she became manipulative.
    "I'm your mother! I raised you! You can't leave me!"
    "If you really cared about me, you'd do what I tell you!"
    "I took you out of that orphanage, this is how you repay me?"
    She was in tears when Jake came across her. He took her aside and she told him everything. Before, only her family had known, but she trusted Jake enough to keep her secret.

    watching him from across the room, it’s easy to paint him as unamused or standoffish–too bored to care with the stark look of 2 hours of sleep–though these things couldn’t be anymore wrong. as soon as he’s approached with a greeting, a certain light appears no matter how tired he might be. wiggy’s one of the nicest boys you’ll ever met. he enjoys hearing people speak, getting to know them, learning new things about them–he’s more friendly and humorous than he shows. he’ll give you a laugh, even if it’s a dark one. and albeit the tendency to stay up all night and sleep in for even longer, he’ll be there if you need it. and he means it. wiggy doesn’t really give a shit about himself. it’s always been about everyone else and he likes it that way, though it has gotten him in trouble..     though he supposes to consider himself nihilistic, he thinks it brings more power to his happiness if anything. the arbitrary existence. no innate purpose, no reason for origin, no reason for anything perhaps. wiggy would say that’s probably the best reason to keep going, but equally is it the worst part about life. he thinks it’s funny that he’s pondered on the thought for so long as he has and still hasn’t found what he’s looking for. the circles spin ‘round and ‘round until it’s settled on the outlier: maybe he’ll never figure it out.
    
    despite the air of nonchalance and as what some would describe as a laziness about his aura, wiggy can be pretty driven by certain activities. wiggy loves chess. he loves watching good movies. he loves music with every fiber in him. he’s as happy as a puppy around nature–even a good walk will do. he loves a good book with an ending hard to conclude to besides a personal opinion. surely, the hoops he’s jumped through to get heroin with jake is a good implication though of course not many people know the extent to that aspect of his life. if he wants it he’ll get it somehow.
    
    wiggy is far from the type to start a fight. not only does he think it’s useless to fight unless its with words and something worth talking about, he just dislikes aggression anyway. it truly is pointless to him. he’s not a very aggressive person at all, though maybe something worth fighting for would get him to be that way. his shows of aggression have always only been in his room alone towards himself. otherwise, he’s mostly the mediator if he’s stuck between two sides.
    
    he loves the idea of being able to help people someday–using his intelligence for something useful. though it’s been tough for him to find the motivation for school since high school. he’ll get in episodes of complete dedication–showing his professors exactly why he’s meant to be there and then lose the momentum completely, showing up for class late and doing the bare minimum. he’s aware it’s only going to get harder after he graduates to pursue diagnostic medicine more seriously. wiggy knows he has shit work ethic and relies on his smarts, yet gets by the same way he always did in high school–his mom still nagging at him for it. he lets his mind get the best of him, and of course, his impulses.
    
    wiggy’s unsure of the world and what he really wants to do. sure, helping people is great right? pays well. though he’s never really cared about money at all. a secret dream of his is to run away to a foreign country–maybe an island. get a job as a dock boy and live off whatever–travelling in the process. his mind could run through the possibilities forever.

    baby oskar was a bright kid, a great student and an amiable friend to be around mostly all throughout his childhood. though getting into activities such as skateboarding or playing drums and guitar in his own makeshift bands did have an affect on him–compelling him to try alcohol and even marijuana pretty young. even so, these did little to dim his abilities excelling in his studies–at least in his youngest years anyway…
    
    oskar was nicknamed wiggy his first day of school in fifth grade after the parent’s of his closest friend jake convinced his parents to send their child to public school instead of the homeschooling oskar was doing prior. his mother, ada, was reluctant to let little oskar go due to her own fears of bad influences, but ultimately it worked out for the both of them. ada was able to return to finish the last bit of her doctorate in law and together her and oskar’s senior copywriter and author father had more time to work.
    
    as for the nickname, oskar quite liked it even if it may have began because of the bit of teasing he got for his middle name “ludwig”. he never really understood why father’s named their sons after them and in this way he could be free from that. new school, new friends, new name–wiggy ran with the new potential. he continued to excel in school, even with the new fun influences he was faced with and handled all the new changes pretty well. the boy was actually rather popular in some sort of way his whole time in schooling. being annoyingly smart, friendly and well-favored in his northern european looks would be the key to it but he never really let it get to his head. in fact, he never really thought of himself that way at all. just another not-so-american kid doing american kid things, growing up outside the big apple. besides, he wasn’t that kind of popular. he was pretty reserved, not really one to talk too much but always friendly if so. him and jake were great friends, his influence on him coerced him to be less shy especially around the topic of girls–which he never really pursued much before seeing his best friend try and fail as he did.
    
    freshman year, he started a band called cages with some mutual friends of him and jake’s and they played local gigs and house shows here and there. within this time period was where he started to dabble more into drugs and alcohol–lots of partying too. he found that what he used to not have too much interest in trying, actually amplified his experience–and especially ebbing any anxiety–being around others. his mother was less than impressed by this behavior and made it very known, but wigs barely cared. to him, she was nothing but a helicopter parent–paranoid and suffocating by her own fears and intense academic upbringing. his father, though stern about the times he’s come home blacked out, secretly encouraged his involvement in music. unfortunately, his lack of vocal support and even weak mediating by siding with ada when wigs would be punished for it did put a sour taste in wigs’ mouth.
    
    something about the smothering pressure his parents rained down on him about how great he could be if he went to yale or princeton like them mixed in with his own questioning of his purpose in life led him to dip in his academics. he started not caring, preferring to party all night and come to school extremely late and hungover–somehow getting by enough to still perform decently though in reality he really was too smart for it all. the constant fighting of his parents over him and their own dissonances wasn’t his only issue though.
    
    sophomore year a girl by the name of paris geller completely threw off his entire world. his first official girlfriend–first everything, but a terrible one at that. she was evil and connieving–convinced her boyfriend was the next alex turner or some shit and also was a serial cheater. wigs was blind as a bat when it came to her, forgiving her at every issue they came across and folding completely. every time she fucked up in anyway she’d just threaten to kill herself, show it by hurting herself severly in front of him and begging him not to leave.
    
    even his own friends absolutely despised this girl by the time their relationship hit the mere 5 month mark. the once shy, golden boy was slowly shifting to the worst of himself–defending his girlfriend and becoming as dejected as possible. quite literally he looked like he was dying the entire time from lack of sleep and motivation to stay healthy. his once baby face was sunken in, he developed dark bags under his eyes, self harm scars from his own troubles and was skipping school even more than usual.
    
    to make matters worse, she fed him drugs. and a lot of them. quite literally drugging his drinks and making him dependant on xanax and others, repeatedly putting him situations he’d get sexually assaulted by either her or her friends and for what reason? who the fuck knows. she was awful and it didn’t take until the middle of senior year and removing himself from the band for him to finally get the courage, with support from his friends, to break things off with her despite her harrowing threats.
    
    the rest of his senior year was rocky at best even so. the person who put him under the guise of being his first love was gone and his parents were officially divorced by then. the effects of the few couple years on his mental state was just too evident to hide. towards the end of his last year, he regained a bit more momentum in his studies to snag a spot at [insert university]’s [insert area of study] program. gradually, he was becoming his old self again but friends noticed clear as day the wiggy they knew growing up might never feel the way about life as he used to.
    
    as for his drug use since, he completely quit the xanax use after leaving paris noting they would do nothing but dilute his mind. however, his use of opiates grew from that point on. wiggy decided he didn’t want to be messy with any of it if he could keep it that way. if he was going to be an addict he’d rather not look the part and make everyone worry like they did so often during his relationship with paris. unfortunately this use of heroin specifically was shared by his childhood friend jake and their mutual influence on eachother was terrible. jake seemed to go lengths with it in comparison to wigs as each month went by. there were definitely times wiggy felt maybe it was time to stop. for both of them to try to quit… wean off it somehow..even get help if that was what it had come to, but wigs seldom mentioned it.

If you ask about Leon around the block, those are probably some of the terms used to describe him. People's perception of him has never bothered him; nothing really ever has. He doesn't see the need in getting worked up over shit that's out of his control anyways. He was pretty young when he came to the realization that damn near everything is out of his control, so he doesn't concern himself too much with anything.

Despite the general perception of him, he's an incredibly intelligent dude. People that knew him when he was younger love to come up with excuses for why he ended up the way he did: he fell in with the wrong crowd; if only his dad had been around; maybe if his mom had just been more strict. The truth of the matter is that some people are just content with mediocrity. Leon's interest in winning the rat race is close to zero. In all honesty, the very idea of holding down office jobs and working his way up the corporate ladder or whatever sends shivers down his spine.

He's always chalked that up to the thought of sitting still for an eight hour work shift. Sitting still has never been his thing. He paces when he's on the phone, bounces his leg when he's in a chair, talks with his hands. He's also never been one for quiet and there's almost always music playing in his apartment regardless of what he's doing.

Leon spends most of his time trying to drown out his own thoughts while simultaneously trying to escape the world. This has resulted in a fondness for drugs of almost all types, predominantly pills and bud. He also indulges himself in physical pleasures, though has always kept his lovers at arms length.

Outside of his friend group - one he still isn't sure how he ended up in, often doubt he belongs in - there aren't many people he's genuinely close to in his life and he's doing a pretty good job of convincing himself that he prefers it that way. Sure, people know who he is for the most part - his affinity for attention requires that much - but there's no one blowing up his phone to kick it. Unless, of course, they're trying to get a fix or an in to a party or just want a good time with no strings attached. Despite his love for attention, he doesn't truly care too much what people think about him, doesn't try too hard to impress them.

He's an expert at being comfortable in all scenarios and adapts to his environment with remarkable ease. Regardless of this, his loudness and carefree attitude always remain. He could be a good friend and even a good person if he really set his sights on it, but he'd rather indulge his every whim and consequences be damned.

Maybe Leon's childhood would've been less lonely if it had really just been him and his mom. Instead it had been him, his mom, and heroin. There wasn't really enough room in his mom to care for both, so he grew accustomed to being put on the back burner.

He never cared enough to ask about his father, was never really curious about him to begin with. Why bother wasting that much energy on someone that didn't wanna be around? As far as Leon was concerned, the fucker should stay gone.

Enough about him. Leon and his mother, Liz, lived in a studio apartment in Brooklyn, New York. It would've been a little cramped if Liz was ever home for more than a few hours at a time. The freedom suited young Leon just fine, and he always managed to find ways to entertain himself: setting up playdates for himself, walking around the block, listening to music for hours. Making friends came easily to him probably due to his willingness to make a clown of himself for others' amusement.

Despite the lack of structure and stability in his home life, Leon thrived in school. Kind of. Academically, he was gifted beyond his years, but his behavior was apparently "inappropriate". His mom never gave him a hard time for it, though, and he always assumed she blamed herself for his acting out. Most people probably think that's fair of her, but Leon's convinced he would've ended up exactly the same way no matter what his family looked like.

Anyways, whenever his mom felt really guilty, she'd buy him something. Never anything grand, seeing as nearly all their money went to drugs and rent, but she's responsible for his love of comics, music and making art.

The most expensive gift she ever got him was an acoustic guitar, and it's still Leon's most prized possession.

If you ask Leon, he wouldn't say he "fell in" with the wrong crowd - he'd tell you that he sought them out. Early on, he realized that most people became easily uncomfortable whenever he spoke about his life at home; even just referring to his mother by her first name seemed to throw people off. So, he gravitated towards people that wouldn't pity or belittle him.

The fact that they also had access to contraband - equal parts buying and selling - was just a bonus. He was a favorite among fellow street rats, and his name grew somewhat infamous in some parts of Brooklyn.

It was a comfortable, convenient even, situation for him until the realization that he was on a path very similar to that of his mother struck him. He loves Liz, really, but becoming her was nothing short of a living nightmare. The reasoning behind his decision to follow his friends to college was two-fold: he loves his friends, obviously, and it'd let him get away from her. He had doubts about actually getting in, but was incredibly grateful that he did.

That said, Leon is a creature of habit. Despite his sound intentions, he continues to turn to dealing when he needs money, and sometimes just when he's bored. His drug use has remained a steady constant in his life, but his grades haven't suffered too much as a result, a feat his scholarship appreciates greatly.
